The portions looked good, the prices were not too high, I personally tried the ice cream and it was really good 🍦🤤 The place where there is a terrace overlooking the reservoir🏞there is both space inside and outside🍱

Lunch portions are SUPER SMALL. It could work for you if you are in a VERY RESTRICTED DIET, or if you eat like a hamster. I still had to pay for it thought. So Disappointing.

I don't know how they hire their employees. But I had a very horrible experience with one of their employee. Staff is very rude, very disrespectful. The waiter is so rude and no greetings at the time of order. They do not know how to speak to customers.

My god… the manager is a LUNATIC. Instead of investing any more time into managing the cafe he should dip into some anger management therapy. Feel bad for the female staff that work here that seem to be verbally abused most times I’ve seen them, if he had spoken to me that way he would’ve gone head first into the lido.

Verry good food if you have Covid and lost the tastebuds. Overpriced cooked from frozen food. Looked in the kitchen and saw 5 apprentices cooking the food.

Their almond twist tasted very old and priced at £4.50 i wouldnt mind to pay that for fresh pastry but this was horrendous

Visit this cafe for good experience we went there 17:30 it was there closing Time, but still they also also what would you like to have? We had a vegetable samosas and Hot chocolate with marshmallows, they were very friendly and a nice staff they were

It is the only place near the lake for food.. food was tasty but it was very crowded so service was little late.

Would not recommend. It was an absolutely freezing day and my family sat down inside to order some warm food and to feed our one year old some baby crisps as he was crying a lot. As soon as we started to sit down, the manager came up to us and started yelling at us, telling us to order or get out. We told him to calm down, and that we were ordering and he should assume things. He didn’t even let us finish talking and kept going on about how we were not ordering. We got up to order, and there was about two or three other people infront of us, and when it was our turn to order the manager yelled, “DONT SELL ANYTHING TO THEM BUT CHIPS. ONLY CHIPS. WERE CLOSING SOON.” we realized there was no point in us just ordering chips, so we left. He was yelling and all his staff telling them to hurry up and how slow they were. Terrible customer service.

Was charged £2.50 for a badly made hot chocolate. Ordered 3 in total and then £5.50 worth of cake. Came to £13. The abrupt lady behind the till then tried to charge me £16. The place was still open but they were in a hurry to close and made us feel in the way. They do good icecream and the view is good but I wouldn't recommend them for anything else. Update: went there in 2023, lady who served us ice-cream was nice but the guy who took my order for a sandwich was completely bored sounding and unhelpful. Also, the server would not give me the order at my table until I had showed her the receipt. I have never heard of that business practice before.

It's great to have a cafe by the waterside, and we wanted to grab some baked goods (which we've had before and was tasty) and dinner drinks. The staff were friendly, and the place was pretty busy. However, what seemed like the owner came out whilst we were waiting to order and proceeded to reprimand and speak to his employees in a demeaning manor, throwing things around, and they were then unable to take any orders - with him demanding full attention. 5 minutes later, after waiting for him to have his rant, we left with him still going. Can't be supporting someone who treats people in this way, and to top it off in front of customers.

I visited this cafe with a friend. I ordered some tea and snacks . My friend ordered some tea and snacks too. She also had a sandwich with her . A very rude waitress came to our table and tried to kick us out, the reason because my friend had a sandwich. I said we will leave but I need to finish my tea and snacks which I ordered. The rude nasty woman went and called her manager. He was even more unpleasant rude and nasty and spoke very rudely to us and told us to leave despite the fact that we hadn't finished our tea and snacks. They seemed to be treating the animals well though and I think animals should be kept out of eating places as they could spread germs. So even a dog gets better treatment than customers .They need to be closed down.

OMG! Have the Southern Fried Chicken Burger and the flapjack with berries topped with yoghurt. The place looks pretty humble, but the food is so good. Add bacon and cheese to that burger and you may have the best chicken burger you've ever had. So many condiments to choose from and at a reasonable price (by London standards). Went twice, just to double check😉

Where do I start! I was waiting on the queue for my food and I came across a lady who was also waiting for food and when she asked where her food was the owner came out of the kitchen and was very racist towards the lady and said to her, ‘what language are you speaking I don’t understand you’ even that her English was very understandable. He was very rude to her and then his partner came out of the kitchen and then pushed the lady who was waiting for her food and told her to get out of the shop. Over all the customer service was very poor and the food was avarage. When I tried to calm the owner down he told me that I should mind my own business and also said to me that he doesn’t shout even that he was very loud and rood. I highly don’t recommend to anyone to waist their money and get treated really badly in this cafe. I am still in a shock when I am writing this review. The owner of the premises must change his attitude towards his customers otherwise he won’t have customers and staff as well. And also I saw an incident in the kitchen where he got hold of a receipt from his employee and pushed her away and at the moment he made the food she was preparing fall on the ground. He was very rude and physical with the staff. I hope the lady in the kitchen who works for him is okay! Please who every is going there think twice! I wouldn’t recommend it!!!!!

This Cafe is actually sited near a beach in London. They provide a good variety of food items and ice cream on a sunny day is most welcome.

While it's good to have a cafe close to the beach where you can grab something to eat, their food was a huge letdown. If you're visiting here, I'd recommend carrying your own meal. We were a group of 5 and tried their pizza, fish and chips and pasta and all of us were disappointed. We didn't have high expectations but c'mon! Their fish and chips were a disgrace to the most iconic British food. The worst batter fried fish I've ever had in the UK. The store bought frozen fish is far better than what they served us. Service was also a bit slow which is okay for me if I had gotten average food. This wasn't even below average. It was poor. I'm definitely taking my own food the next time I visit

Pathetic food I have ever tasted, ordered Spinach & Falafel burger which came with no sauce in the burger, the patty was tasteless and the buns were not soft. The fries served with the burger had absolutely no salt.

It is a weekend so the food came a bit slow, but the staff is very friendly and follow up all orders. We order a fish & chips for share. The food were great and hot.

Always busy and crowded esp at lunchtimes. The staff are friendly despite getting absolutely slammed with customers and the food comes out quick enough. I think it's good value still getting a kids meal for £5.50 in London isn't too bad. And great ice cream!!

Inconsiderate and rude staff! If you go with any allergy concerns the reply you get is “Deal with the loss”! They do not know the difference between vegan and vegetarian. Better stay out of this place, if you want to be treated kindly after a refreshing day by the lake!

I loved my experience at Ruislip Lido. Mino the Cafe manager/owner treated us very well and the food was cooked with love.

Never visit! Visited earlier today with my 2 year old daughter and diabetic wife. My wife has type-2 diabetes and due to the dietary needs, she always prepares and carries her own food to eat. We wanted to have lunch and visited this place. I ordered food amounting to £11 to eat in and we occupied a table at the place. My wife started eating her self-preoared food. I had never imagined it would be a problem as we have done this at various restaurants across the UK and staff have always been accommodative due to her special dietary needs. The owner of the cafe walked across and asked her to stop eating in a very rough manner. I tried explaining her situation of needing special diet and that I had ordered food myself and waiting for the order. He was extremely rude and not even ready to listen! I would have understood if the restaurant was full or near full and we were causing inconvenience. But it was fairly empty and there were plenty of tables free as most customers seemed to be taking away their orders. We felt very bad and decided to just leave the place immediately. I didn't even eat the food I had ordered. Hope the owner learns some manners and to be considerate to people with special needs. He seemed to not cary anything about people and just making money! Will never visit the place and ask you not to go.

We came by randomly in this place, Ruislip Lido. We run into Mino and his restaurant / cafe. We had the best lasagna we ever had in UK. Properly made just like in Italy. Mini and the great chef from Caserta are amazing hosts. They took care of our Dog Gianna as well. We will be back for sure!

i travelled here as a day out with my boyfrienf and a lady called Dorina served me a cappuccino and it was filled with too much sugar at the bottom and caused me to have a diabetic attack when i got home would not recommend this place! also she was very rude when i was given the cup

Good Italian food, not very cheap. Great coffee and fantastic ice-cream. They even have ice cream for dogs. And you can order for take away to eat at the beach.

It is honestly the worst place you could get food from for so many reasons. The food was ready after 45min which was disastrous waiting there with children and it is in very small portions for the price paid. Staff were very rude and not helpful at all.After reminding them a couple of times about the food delay they finally brought it out and there was no apology whatsoever. There is another place where you can eat nearby there, get your home or just go eat somewhere else when you leave as this place is really a waste of time and money.

Rude staff. Chips wernt cooked and came out cold. Then we where asked to move on before we had finnished eating buy a man who i asume was staff member. Hard to tell who are staff members as everyone seems to be walking around yelling out numbers like lost children. Not a good place to relax and drink a coffee.

this place was horrendous. the staff were rude and abrupt. the queues were terribly long. we waited over half an hour just to not receive our order at all. we then asked them to see if they could help us. they rudely laughed in our faces and said no. they took out receipts and said that we was lying because we had no proof. we kindly asked her to give our correct order because we paid in cash full and she rolled her eyes and walked away.

Good range of food at decent prices with friendly staff and good facilities for children. Mocha was not great but otherwise fine.

Perfect place to have a coffee or something to eat after a walk. Unfortunately there is a man working there who shouts and speaks very badly to the customers. On Saturday he gave a very bad time to the people who accidentally stepped on the wet floor. Bad image for such a beautiful place.

Loved the experience there....the gelato was simply amazing....the customer service was very nice, a really entertaining and friendly person there named Mino, who checked on all his customers and brought a smile to our faces. Will definitely visit again!!

A lovely café at Ruislip Lido. We love to buy a tea and then sit outside watching r girls dig in the sand. Ruislip Lido has a playground, sand, miniature railway, woodlands and seasonal waterplay. Café and Lido get busy on very hot days. @playgroundadventures

I felt like I was eating on a psych ward and the owner/manager was definitely drunk. I absolutely loved it. Will be back!

The only sandy beach in london. Really nice for a walk and chilling. You cannot swim but you can have a very nice view of a lake.

ABSOLUTELY VILE. I spent 20 minutes waiting for a simple pork sausage and egg bap but was given a prawn and egg bap instead (surely you'd ask someone once again because who orders PRAWN and EGG). Took a bite without looking - boom. Prawn. Lucky that I'm not allergic or else that would be a lawsuit on your hands. Spent another 20 mins waiting for the replacement which was quite frankly one of the worst meals I've had in my life. The egg was greasy and sickly. The pork sausage was dry. I wouldn't spend my money here. Just bring your own food. Not only that, the staff were so rude. Avoid this place.

First time at the lido and Lakeside cafe. Had a gorgeous lunch spaghetti meatballs with Parmesan for my son who loved it and a nice Greek salad with chicken for me. The hubby had hot dog and chips and we all loved each dish. Lovely service too

Overpriced for those small portions , we were seated at a sticky table and the ketchup bottle on the stand was empty ..took a staff member more than 10 mns to bring another one! Unfortunately Can't recommend

I'd avoid this place. I saw a member of staff act aggressively and rudely towards a customer because he pulled him up for not wearing a mask.

Greasy over cooked food. Not sure how you get fish fingers and chips so wrong. Lovely location but I’ll bring my own food next time.

Sorry £3 for a, quite frankly, rank cup of coffee in a takeaway cup, really is taking the mickey. Had to throw it away, it was so bad. Definitely will bring our own next time!!

This café is part of the San Remo group. Popular with dog walkers. Food is OK but prices are way too expensive. Bring your picnic with you!

Absolutely fab cafe. Owner is lovely and so friendly. The chips are to die for after walking all around lido. Ice creams scrumptious. Coffee nice. The sandwiches so fresh and the brie and cranberry delicious

Love this little cafe! The Owners Mino and Ellie work so hard to make it a friendly and enjoyable experience for everyone, they even sell dog sausages! They really are lovely owners, and the cafe has lovely coffee and sweet treats and great staff waiting to help you! Still open even through Covid; with a one way system in place! Well worth a visit! Highly recommended!

Summer 2020. Re-opened for drinks, cakes & ice creams and areduced hot food menu. A couple of socially distanced tables outside for hot food customers. Please support our local businesses to survive the pandemic. The LB Hillingdon council built log cabin is a huge improvement over the previous tea-shed, (which may have been run by volunteers from the miniature railway?), and the whole set up with a fenced off external seating area for dogwalkers is much better, but San Remos all tend to the adequate rather than enjoyable. They even neglect to tell you the variety or source of the coffee they use. Even the layout seems designed to ensure each server gets in the way of all the others, and in Summer they cannot even serve the ice creams quickly enough. Will continue to use it for hot drinks and cakes as it is the only option at the Lido, when the setting deserves somewhere to look forward to visiting.

We're still in the COVID19 partial lockdown. The cafe has now reopened with takeaway service only. Currently no seating. Social distancing signs around with staff manning the door to monitor the crowd level. Still serving cold foods along with hot and cold drinks. Experience will be much better in the the post COVID19 world. The surrounding area outside is just wonderful.

Tasty food, lovely staff, great location

Cafe San Remo has a really good selection of food in a very clean environment. The cheese-topped baked potato was excellent with salad. 'Minno' (if that's how you spell it) is a very interesting Italian who is the owner and his desserts all look so delicious that it's difficult to decide what to have. 'Rocky Road' was a very good chocolate hit but they all looked good! Next time I will try the minestrone soup as Italian Mummers all cook it their own way. The views of the park are great and it's a real find knowing you can have a decent meal - or ice cream when it's hot - after a walk around this historic park built at the start of the canal age. This is a friendly, clean hygienic restaurant. Well done Minno!

Good food! Well looked after. Much better than I expected. I expect it will get extremely busy in the summer being next to the model railway, the lake and the children's outside play area.

Unlikely to surprise nor disappoint with no dilly-dallying or poncing-about, sticking with the basic and familiar. This is no criticism. The sterile interior here inspired by functional civic mindedness .. think NHS waiting room, minus the wait. If you’ve got to eat, then get on with it and move on. Prices be reasonable, food acceptable, service adequately efficient.

Asked for tap water for a school visit and just received abuse for the owner. Avoid at all costs.

Very rude owner of the cafe. We had spent over £15 for coffee and ice cream, sat on the tables out and got shouted for my son got a packet of crisps not purchased from them. Very offensive language, didn’t stop shouting even though we moved out their premises.
