San Marco Eat In - Takeaway in Scarborough

Their website suggested we booked. We tried to call the restaurant from 3pm (as suggested). Got engaged tone each time we called. When the phone finally rang we got the answer machine. Decided to try our luck, turned up at 5.15 to be turned away. Pretty disappointed. Gave 2 stars because the menu looked nice.

Gorgeous authentic Italian food all home made on the premises. The special garlic bread is the best, and I lived in Italy and Sicily!

Very popular Italian restaurant, we ate here a couple of times during our stay, you need to book to avoid disappointment. Beautiful fresh food and plenty of it. Excellent location right in town centre.

Waited 3 hours for a take away - for it to not be ready! Service was poor, staff seemed to be more bothered about when their next brake was and rarely smiled. What has happened to the service industry??

Called in on a Sunday night. Lovely friendly staff. Unfortunately there was an error with our order but it was rectified and the waitresses were genuinely apologetic. The food was gorgeous and the chicken in Stilton sauce was one of the best I’ve had especially for the price they charge. Extremely good value, good portions and quality food. A great example of doing things properly. Mistakes happen, it is how you deal with them.

Called in for takeaway but advised by Diane friendly host we would get food quicker if we ate in. Clean and tidy. Good atmosphere very friendly staff. Food excellent - special garlic bread with penne pasticiatte. Well worth a visit

We had 3 takeaways burgers and a carbonara burgers were yummy the carbonara sauce was not as thick as normal and a bit bland front of house staff friendly and efficient as usual

A hidden treasure- We went to the takeaway eat in restaurant and decor was not promising- but the food was fab- and the price was far cheaper than other places. We had meatballs and spaghetti/ calzone Vesuvius ( lovely and spicy and crust was lovely and doughy) and also penne San Marco. We also had a bottle of red wine a large glass of whitewine , 3 nice starters and 3 limoncellos and the total was£62.50. Very cheap in this era of expensive restaurants. Service by the lovely waitress who was excellent and beautifully smiley. What a find!

We had a great visit on Friday night, the food was cooked beautifully, fast service and the front of house girls very attentive. We came as a group of 5 including our 2 year old daughter and everyone really enjoyed it. None stop customers queueing for the take away and by the time we left people were queueing to get in and sit down, not at all surprised as the food was amazing.

We have stayed in Filey for a few years. We could never get a booking for San Marcos so thought it must be a fantastic Italian restaurant. We eventually were able to get a booking and were really looking forward to our meal. What a disappointment. We were NOT having the early bird menu. The staff were not really enthusiastic and never mentioned the days specials or maybe there weren’t any? We had starters and main courses and sadly nothing to write home about and in fact my daughter ordered a bolognese pizza and it arrived without any bolognese so they took it away and SLOPPED a pile of bolognese on top and brought it back tut tut tut. Would not recommend to any friend or foe and will never visit again. Our bill was over £150.00 and for once my son In law did not leave a tip.

Have visited this evening, for the first time. Here on holiday. Restaurant incredibly clean. Staff bright, cheerful and accommodating. Food wonderfully tasty and hot : ) Key-hole moment - real plants, on the tables. Reveals integrity, a genuine wish to please the customers and sincerity. The Lady/Gentleman, are very hardworking and deserve to succeed. Well done folks : )

Without a doubt this is the best garlic bread you could ever get leaves all others standing probably the best garlic bread in the world

Only had a takeaway pizza but it was delicious. We ordered a pepperoni, which was plentiful. Staff very pleasant.

We bought pizzas for the family while staying in Filey Bay, the pizzas were all delicious and a reasonable price. Thin stone baked style like a ristorante. Despite reading some bad reviews about the takeaway, they travelled fine as takeaways. Would definitely go here again.
