Sam's Chinese in Wellingborough

Ordered from Sams on Friday 27th September. Opted for Sweet and Sour chicken Hong kong style, Egg fried rice, chicken fine noodles, chips and satay sauce. You get free Prawn Crackers for orders over £15. Okay when i pay for egg fried rice i expect the rice to be fried as stated and have some trace of egg in the rice! The chips i suspect are cooked prior and left as they were like cardboard. The chow mein was inedible as the noodles were crispy! The sweet and sour had a lovely flavour but found it a little hard to chew. The satay sauce was lovely and really tasty. The Prawn crackers did not taste of prawn so they were just fried crackers. Not the Sam`s i remember from a few years back. The search continues to find a great Chinese who delivers.

The WORST. I cannot even explain how bad the food was. Could also taste a perfume in the batter.maybe cleaning products who knows? Batter was a mushy rubbery mess. No balance of seasoning or care in recipe. Nothing authentic. Very bad experience. Every time I see the takeaway I feel ill!

Battered fish £6.10 I didn’t even eat it soggy and very fishy the batter was thick ..spring rolls soggy no taste to it the sweet and sour sauce like water no taste.. curry sauce very peppery not curry taste.. gone down hill won’t ever go again don’t bother wasting your time SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE

Food was a bag of poo sweet and sour sauce like water and didn’t taste a bit like it. Just rubbish bland food

Food is always amazing when I order. Never had a signal issue with them, and delivery drivers are really nice too.

AWFUL AWFUL food took 1 HOUR AND 45 minutes to be delivered found HAIRS all over my food numerous times, food was cold and bland had no taste worst Chinese place I’ve ever had DO NOT ORDER !!

First time using this Chinese as our normal was closed. Really good value for money. Husband said best wings and chowmein he's had , the chilli fried beef was alot more saucey and chewy than were used to , usually more dry and like twiglets. Really good taste though. Also got the Thai fish cake to share. Tasted really good but wouldn't of guessed it was a fish cake, like mini omelette pancake with sweet chilli sauce. Will definitely order again 👍

Yet again sams Chinese didn’t deliver our full order. It’s not difficult to include the rice that we paid for!!! The pork in black bean sauce was runny like water. This place has lost its way. Order ID: #00006. Feel free to refund my payment to the card!

Just ordered the deep fried chicken and chips for a change really enjoyed it👌👍

First class service and the food in wonderful

Food was nice, service was ok. The atmosphere is underwhelming, the restuarant/takeaway itself looks very run down and old. Very much in need of a renovation!

If you order a beef chow mein looks Like it’s been left in the wok for 15min burnt as hell duck was dry tasteless egg fried rice looked pale not normal bland only thing was good was the lamb curry

We have ordered from Sam's twice now and it's been great both times. Food arrives hot and on time, is not overloaded with MSG and is really reasonably priced. Will definitely order again!

THE WORST CHINESE FOOD I’VE TASTED IN MY LIFE! It has a garden taste to it and it’s drenched in soy sauce , they put the chicken on top when it should be mixed in. Me and the person I was was with couldn’t even eat it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I AM NEVER BUYNG FROM HERE AGAIN!! I think this could be one of the worst things I’ve tasted in my life. I’m sorry but I’m so disappointed, such a waste of money.

We ordered tonight and spent £48 on a family meal to then find out the didn’t deliver 3 main courses. Ring them up they argued that it would be another 30 mins or you can be refunded for the missing items and them not bother deliver. Shocking service, do they really expect us to just east rice with no main dishes.

I have ordered from Sam's twice now on a recommendation from a friend. I have to say I have enjoyed every mouthful and all the family agree. We ordered £50 pounds worth of food to and everything arrived piping hot and very tasty to can't recommend this Chinese enough I intend to order very regularly from here when we have a Chinese.

We ordered from here last night for the first time, it was the only chinese we could find open with good reviews! All I can say is wow! We ordered a sharer box of Prawn Toast, Seaweed, Spare Ribs, Spring rolls and Chicken satay which was lovely. We also ordered a chow mein and fried rice. The rice was so good as was the noodles. What shocked us the most was the price of the food compared to the quality. Including delivery charge we paid just over £20 for the food! The delivery was a long wait due to the current situation, however they warned us the timescales before and still delivered 20 minutes early! Highly recommend this place and we will be returning!

Food is great but the lady taking the order was so rude she answered the phone with what do you want and was so blunt then I asked to speak to a manager and she replied why and I said because how rude your being and she said “nah not in, do you want your order or what” Not happy at all

Was the first time I used them and NEVER again the chips where soggy and only like half a bag the sauce well that's like p##s it's watery like hell and chow main wat thick and taste loss and I ended up given it the dog and it was meant to be pork well defo didn't taste that the only one thing I like was the banana filter that was nice that only reason I gave it 1 star for the banana the cracker the normal place I go give u a full bag of them this place only give u quarter of a bag

Some like it,I prefer others. Guess its just my preference.

Best Chinese takeaway in Wellingborough

This is the first time that I have ever tried SAMS , and I can tell you, that it will not be my, last ! Well cooked food, clean shop inside, 4 stars on the door ! Well enjoyable, Chinese/Cantonese, food and good portion sizes as well ! Will definitely be going again and soon .

Not the a good experience at all!!!!! Staff were very rude.. Food was of a very low grade and greasy. Location of Takeaway hardly anywhere to park to pickup your food. Lots of yobs outside the shop in that area making it feel unsafe. A lovely delivery guy thou. Polite with speedy change giving skills.👌

Food quality was good, prices are good, just not quite good enough to give it 5 stars.

Food arrived quickly, however was VERY greasy and had very little discernable flavour ( apart from the greasy taste). First time of trying this takeaway and definitely will be the last. Nowhere near worth the nearly £30 paid for our meal. Would not recommend.

First time with Sams. Lady taking order was blunt and rude! Beef curry had like 3 pieces of beef. The spring rolls had next to no veg in them and was flat packed. And didn't think much to the Singapore chow mein. Always good to give new places a try but definitely be our last!

No menu online. Phoned them and asked if there was a way of seeing a menu. Couldn't have been more blunt - 'No'
