Sam's Chicken in Watford

chips were cold and chicken wasn't much warmer

food was all cold on arrival. driver took food on a 30 minute round trip before delivering it. we live less than 5 minutes from the store

just eat drivers took around 30 minutes to actually pickup the food

I’m surprised by the abundance of less than stellar reviews. I’ve personally had great experiences at Sam’s Chicken, that matched the expectations I had for a takeout “fast food” restaurant of this kind. It’s quick, it’s messy, it’s good. Granted, I’ve never ordered delivery, so I can’t speak to the reviews that are based around that, but I’ve had no issues whenever I’ve gone in person. I had the Peri Peri and BBQ wings, as well as the sweet potato fries. The fries were alright; there wasn’t enough salt or flavour for my personal preference. However, the wings were a standout. In particular, the Peri Peri were fantastic. I’ve ordered them a few times, and have never been disappointed. Something that really pleased me was the attention that was given to my gluten intolerance. I asked the staff if they could accommodate a meal around that, and they were very helpful in pointing out what I could eat, and re-iterating multiple times that it was gluten free. Overall, Sam’s Chicken Watford is a decent and convenient spot for your chicken wing cravings. You’re not getting Michelin starred chicken, but that’s to be expected. If you want greasy, indulgent, and drenched in sauce wings, this is a great place to try!

Never get a delivery the food they send is cold. Guy on the phone thought it was just a joke. £14 wasted.. Update they’ve even the cheek as a gesture of good will,they’ve gave me a £3 voucher..this place really needs to be closed down. It’s a disgrace,it’s a stain on the map..

Unfriendly service and food quality is below average. Train staff to provide better service with smile and try similar food from other places so you know where to improve,.

We discovered Sam's Chicken about 6 months ago and were pleasantly surprised at how yummy the food is. We go there quite regularly now if we're after convenience food. We always order the same thing and eat there: spicy or regular fillet burgers and coleslaw fries. We REALLY like the coleslaw fries. I've since read others' reviews and am surprised at the number of poor experiences. So far, we haven't had any issues with the food or staff or cleaniness of the venue and hope it stays that way.

The most Stingiest fast food takeout I have come across. Let me start by saying that not all Sam’s franchises are bad it’s just this particular one. It is an absolute rip off. 6 wings meals is £7.49!! And a normal burger meal with two wings is £9 bloody pounds. To top it off they only give you free ketchup. It’s 60p for a tiny tub of mayo and any other dip you want. Not only are they stingy with the prices and the sauces, they are really stingy with the portion sizes. My burger was absolutely tiny and the portion of chips was horrendously small as well. They basically gave me a kids meal. This store doesn’t deserve to charge people those ridiculous prices especially in a working class area. It’s diabolical that they’re even functioning on this road. Rios and a few others don’t have bad prices on the road but Sam’s, you guys are absolutely taking the mick with those outrageous prices and portion sizes

0 stars. Do not order the fries with coleslaw absolutely disgusting. i was sick throwing up all night from the coleslaw it was expired. tasted decent going down not very well going up though. poor hygiene as-well. don’t recommend!!!

Sam's does nice chicken. unfortunately, that is the only thing that's nice. I just had a burger that was easily the most disappointing burger I've ever had in my life, and I paid £10 for it. disgusting.

The courier looked stuck in Watford so I gave it the benefit of the doubt till I rang them and it suddenly started moving. I guess they just forgot

Ordered this place for lunch and they sent me RAW UNDERCOOKED chicken in my burger and I am pregnant, luckilly when I bit into it I took it out of my mouth as it tasted horrible I didn’t swallow it as I would’ve ended up in hospital ! Tastes decent, but wayyy overpriced.

Poor service .. ordered a meal with a drink from deliveroo as soon as I opened the food bag my drink was missing. I called Sam's and the response was that I did give the drink so I don't know anymore. You should have checked. The guy was so rude. He even said that I did my job. So if you want the drink come and get it. If I could get the food why would I order at first place. No refund was given and no courtesy. Lastly to even call Sam's it took multiple calls and finally they had answered. DONT ORDER FROM HERE .

Worst chicken shop, brother at counter very moody as if he hates his job, food was given cold and rock hard. Also no tissues or salt simple things like chips portion everything was bad. Would recommend eating from somewhere else.

The restaurant told me after the food had left that there were no plant based nuggets meaning my girlfriend had no food to eat. Shocking service.

This was not a good place it was dirty first of all and plus the staff were showing tantrums and we're not generally being nice the fries were horrible they were very not fresh so in conclusion it was not a good place I don't recommend going plus the seats were so dirty old like they haven't been washed in years

Smallest Chicken Fillet Burger i have ever had, it was cold and hard. They only had limited menu, so no spicy burger but offered to sell me chilli sauce for 60p to spice up a normal fillet! Miserable service!! Stay away!!!

The restaurant as usual is great!! The chicken is tasty, we go for the family deal which is very good value. Great chicken coating and I like that you get a salt packet in the bag to do yourself as it stops chips getting soggy. The driver from just eat however is a different story. He drove past us to go to the other side of Watford with our order during rush hour to deliver elsewhere then delivered our food on the way back. So frustrating when drivers do this and it's hard to raise it with just eat.

This place is nice and clean, but thats because its so bloody expensive nobody can afford it, they charge you for every little thing, the women try to upsell sauces for 60p. Every little thing costs extra a drink is £1.70!!! They don’t even sell any meals for less than £9 but the food is absolutely disgusting.

Guy near the till keeps arguing with his staff in the kitchen, didn’t get paper on my tray which is disgusting, really really not worth the money just for the simple reason of a very bad service the lady at the back also couldn’t even tell which wings are spicy and which are not and arguments kept going , In conclusion service is terrible food is 6/10

We never received the order although the status says the order has been delivered at 21.26. We also contacted Sam chicken who said we need to contact Just Eat. I’ve already requested for a refund. This always happens with Just East!!!

Never ordering from Sam's again. I asked for mild flavoured peri chicken and rice. It was so spicy it burnt my mouth I couldn't eat it and had to throw the whole order away. I want my money back!!

Ordered via Just Eat a few days ago, have since had food poisoning from the chicken strip burgers, I only ate half as I felt the chicken wasn’t properly cooked. Haven’t stopped vomiting for 2 full days. AVOID

I explained to the lady as politely and slowly the order as they don’t speak good English here. Still got the wrong order and been waiting now 40 minutes plus for 6 chicken legs … I wonder if there is a hidden camera here to test the patience of customers here :(

Delivery was great but order was wrong. Received 3 pieces of chicken instead of the club max box. Rang up and was told the cameras had to be checked and I would receive a call back. Never received the call so had to chase only to be told there are no drivers to redeliver. Person on the phone was rude as though it was my fault the order was wrong. Would like a refund as the pieces of chicken are likely much cheaper than the box meal. Not impressed.
