Bueno para unas copas si no quieres un restaurante completo y no quieres sentarte en un pub. Chiswick no tiene muchos "bar" lugares de estilo y esto fue una buena con precios razonables y un buen servicio. Mejor que el cordero pub en frente.

I went here last night to see a friend as it is her birthday in few days. I didn't mention that to anyone at Sam's though. We enjoyed their 50% off happy hour in the bar followed by their set 2 course menu for £13.50. The house white was delicious and I had the chicken parfait followed by the parpadelle ragu for dinner. Both dishes were generous in size and really perfectly cooked and presented. Then what really impressed me was the surprise birthday dessert our waiter presented my friend. He knew it was her birthday as he had seen the birthday card I had given her while having drinks! Well done staff at Sam's Brasserie, very impressive indeed!

Visited for a birthday dinner. Expensive for no good reason. Service was poor to awful - fairly typically East European waiting crew in fact, accurate but artless - slamming food down in front of you, moving in front of you with plates etc without an 'excuse me', filling up the wine glass - particularly annoying - at every opportunity. Food was mediocre to all right - but way overpriced for what it was and packed out with cheap salad. If you want this sort of thing, try a chain like Cote - or somewhere like that - which has equally poor service but at least offers quality food for the price. Booze way over-priced - this is not the West End! By the way, a personal obsession, bread should be free in restaurants. It's not like they don't have a margin.

After an evening of bridesmaid dress fitting, my sister, my best friend and I went to Sam's to celebrate. I ordered the fishcakes which tasted of nothing but salt but not wanting to spoil the mood of the evening I did not complain. However, just after 10pm we were told we had to order pudding immediately as "the pastry chef wanted to go home and had a long day". With very few other customers in the restaurant it was clear they wanted us to leave even though it wasn't very late. I was extremely disappointed with our evening and couldn’t wait to leave the restaurant.

I've visited Sam's twice now. It has a really great ambience and lighting, and I especially love the vintage lighting at the two seaters in the bar. Breakfast is of the highest quality. I especially love the grilled haloumi and crushed avocado combination, which is finished off with just a dash of chilli oil. Coffee is really good too. Do finish off breakfast with their puddings..... Yes we had all at one go! The first time we visited though, turned into a bit of a nightmare. This place is frequented by big families, or a combination of a few. They would bring their kiddos, which is not a problem, until they START SCREAMING. It is no fault of the restaurant at all, rather the fault of parents who seem to think it is acceptable for their cute kids to be screaming their lungs out. I was particularly impressed when a waitress politely asked if we would like to switch tables to another corner. We were finishing up anyway so didn't bother, but I thought that was really thoughtful. On the second visit we stayed WELL away from the main dining area, and chose the two seaters at the bar. Everything is top notch, and it is always the highlight of the weekend when we visit.

I chose Sam's based on other recommendations and the brunch menu available at what was technically lunchtime on a weekend (1pm). It absolutely didn't disappoint. The food was very tasty with good portion sizes overall. Our orders were pretty complex and we were an excitable group to put it mildly, but the waitress took it all in her stride and we were well looked after. I will be going back soon, especially for the sourdough with avocado and halloumi. Oh goodness, now I've remembered the pancake stack with either berries or bacon. Also the espresso and butterscotch martinis were a delicious way to round off a birthday brunch. The only negative was the number of children in the restaurant for the first half of our visit but I think we pretty much drowned them out!

I've visited twice with work during the day and the service and food has been good, which is the reason I'm giving this 3* and not less. My partner and I visited on a busy evening last month and unfortunately it was an entirely different experience. The service in general was poor and not particularly friendly. My meal contained mustard seeds, which while listed on the descriptions of other meals, was not listed on this one. I'm allergic to foods containing high levels of mustard seeds (this dish was covered in them) and when I mentioned this to the server she seemed uninterested and offered no alternatives so I ended up paying for a meal I couldn't eat. Overall the service and food was a real let down compared to my previous visits, and I won't be returning.

Very let down by ou rmeal yesterday evening. Everything was going great until the main course was served. 2 of us ordered the Vension Pie, my friends pie came out perfectly and when we placed my pie next to his you could clearly see and smell that the pastry was burnt. I complained and then I was told that was how the pie was, until I showed the manageress that there was another of the same type of pie on the table that looked completely different! She then said that she would speak to the chef and returend saying that it was a difference in the egg yolks that caused the pastry to be burnt. I invited her to go and get a fork and taste the pie herself but she declined.I would have expected better sevice when dealing with a complaint, the waitress could hve taken the pie away and sorted something out quicker instead of the backwards and forwards process.A little awkward, as I had arranged the booking and I was sat there eating the replacement burger (pretty bland beef, no seasoning) on my own after everyone else had finished their meals.Apart from that everything was fine.

Sam's has a certain relaxed charm, and the Nibbles (particulary the Feta, red onion and walnut dip) and the wine list improved the good mood. The Mains, however, were fairly disappointing -- the Baby back ribs hit the spot, but the Tomato and Goat Cheese tarte was mediocre at best, and Sam's cheeseburger was stringy and qualitatively insubstantial -- the cheese and garlic were more memorable than the beef (although the chips met the high standard of the Nibbles). The less said about Desserts,...

We approached the barman for a menu but were put-off immediately by his lack of welcome, rude and curt responses. We went to Sam's Brasserie for their special Thanksgiving menu over the weekend and were not disappointed. The Thanksgiving options were very tasty, including a delicious pecan pie with whisky ice cream for dessert. The one downside to dinner was on the service end - the host was rather rude to us about running over the 2.5 hour time allotted per reservation when the only reason we were still at the table was that we had been waiting on the bill for about 20 minutes. We also stayed for a few drinks at the bar post-dinner. The bartenders were lovely to chat with, and the cocktails were excellent. Normally there is a decent hum.Food was pretty good, i had the hot chicken, which iis a little like a chicken zinger burger (without the bun), and much nicer. Came with a spick coleslaw and pickles. What i did think was it was actually a little on the expensive side for it. I ordered 2 sides (fries and green beans) and it came to over £20 (sides 3.50 each). Oh dear, I was really looking forward to brunch here today with my wife. We went at 11:45 today and came away very disappointed. When we arrived the restaurant was virtually empty. Table for 2 please - would have been nice to be asked where we'd like to sit rather than taken to the area already occupied by families with toddlers - e.g. the booths by the window - perfect for 2 and all unoccupied.Ordered - pain au chocolat, green goddess, full english and pancake stack. The pain au chocolat tasted simply horrible. Soggy and damp. Compare to what you get at Le Pain or in Pauls, this was simply terrible. Also had a stale taste about it. No way could it have been fresh. A horrible start. Now, even in a builders cafe, you'll get asked how you want your eggs - not here though - so mine came out scrambled rather than the fried sunny side up I'd have liked. And the portion of beans - miserly. The pancake stack made my wife feel sick.Overall, we left very disappointed and having paid a very reasonable sum - tip automatically added - for a very disappointing brunch.

We had the set lunch here and overall it was good. The service was excellent from start to finish. So, we had the carrot salad and the masala prawns to start. The prawns were excellent, very fresh and succulent with a very well spiced sauce. The carrot salad was a bit of a disappointment, it was very small and eaten in about 3 mouthfuls. Though the flavours were ok. It was very forgettable. For main course we had the pork sandwich. It came with a harrisa flavoured mayo, you couldn't taste the harrisa at all. The pork itself was tasty and very moist which was lovely, but please don't leave large amounts of thick white fat on it as it's just rather unpleasant. It was very easily removed though. Served with skinny fries in a brioche bun with a little greenery. It was nice, but that's about it, portion was a bit small, but then it was a set lunch I suppose. We decided to go for puddings as well. These were just on a different scale to the other two course - presumably as they are the same in the a la carte. We had the sweetest dessert I think I've ever eaten, two choc chip cookies with vanila parfait in between and caramel sauce. Very nice and innovative, but we could only manage less than half of it. We also had the lemon possitt which was really superb, thick creamy and sharp, served with lovely raspberry marshmallows. So overall a nice lunch, but at just over £50 for the two of us with a couple of beers it wasn't cheap, but then we were in Chiswick! I would go back, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

The cocktails at Sam's are great, and the happy hour makes it the perfect spot for after-work drinks (especially for couples, as the mini booths are very chilled and comfy!) but get there quick, as it fills up by 6pm. My only issue would be that sometimes a little more care could be taken when setting the drinks down on the bar/table, as a slight spill can mean a sticky glass. Thankfully, the quality makes up for this - I recommend the passion fruit martini (comes with half a passion fruit as garnish - yum) or passion fruit mojito (can you tell I like passion fruit?). The french kiss is also lovely! The food at Sam's is also good - pretty pricey but I understand they strive to use high quality ingredients, so this is reflected in the price (and, for the most part, the taste). I had the clam chowder here some time ago, and it was fab! Music in the bar area can get a tad loud, which can be annoying when you're trying to have a convo over drinks, but I undertand that's a vibe that some people seem to like. I'd also like to point out that owner Sam Harrison's responses to negative comments on here shows a real professionalism and concern over customer issues - great to see!

Lovely presentation, fast and courteous service and the restaurant itself was very luminous, spacious and trendy—had a rather New York feel to it. Perfect place for brunch and definitely want to return for dinner, as I heard the bar is rocking at night and the kitchen serves late so perfect for late dinner after the cinema! Definitely recommend it!

I don't understand how all these reviews give 5 stars for food - these people clearly don't eat out at good restaurants often! The food here tasted fine but there was no "wow" factor yet you are paying "wow" prices. If you're taking up their 2 course for £13.50 or 3 course for £16.50 it is worthwhile, but of course the menu choices are limited at that price. If you're paying full price for food it's just not worth it. The restaurant is fine, buzzy atmosphere, staff are great - very attentive. I had deep fried squid, which was fine, if not a little small in the portion. My partner had cornish crab on toast and he enjoyed it (but at £11.50 for a starter, you'd want to enjoy it). Next I had lamb koftas which were really disappointing - no seasoning or flavour. I could see a few bits of green herb in the mince, but couldn't taste it at all. The koftas were overcooked and presented under a covering (see pic) of green salad - need to work on their presentation I think!! My partner had rack of ribs of which the sauce was very tasty but the meat not that fabulous. He did really like the side of sweet potato mash that came with it (see pic). I ordered French beans and mash potato on the side - don't bother ordering sides (see pics)!! They were flavourless, really disappointing and not worth £3.50 each. French beans in hazelnut butter were actually a bunch of boiled French beans with no butter and 2 bits of hazelnut. The mash potato tasted like it was cooked before and heated in the microwave, you know that day old sort of taste. It wasn't smooth and it was very pastey (almost like packet mash).

The cooking was to a high standard, good ingredients - meat better than vegetables though. Service quite poor. Our server forgot our requests and then disappeared.

We went there to listen to some jazz whilat having a bite to eat - it was on a bank holiday weekend but it was too noisy to listen to the music so we didn't stay for the second half which was a shame as the singer was very good and was probably a bit soul destroying for her being drowned out by all the noise.Having said that if I wanted to go somewhere lively with some good food, this is a good as place as anywhere.

I've enjoyed eating here several times a year since 2005, and the consistency of food and service is amazing. The menu changes frequently, so there's always something different to try, though I find it hard to resist the cod if it's on the menu. It's always very fresh and lightly cooked to preserve its texture. Today it was accompanied by a saffron hollandaise sauce. This was from the à la carte, but they also do a set menu (2 courses for £13.50). This is a thoroughly pleasant place, with good teamwork from the friendly staff.

Chiswick isn't short of places to eat and drink, and although other people rave about Sam's, it certainly doesn't rock my boat. It's near on impossible to hear what people say as there's nothing to absorb the sound. From reading the response to other TripAdvisor reviews, the manager is happy with this as it adds to 'our style- fun/ buzzling/ busy brasserie'.Adequate food, pleasant service. Sounds like the cocktails are where it's at.Definitely time to try out other offerings on the High Road.

A week after a succesfully brilliant Chamber of Commerce lunch for 80 people we revisired for a quiet busines meeting with a special glass of wine. We done the deal. Now it may be that would have agreed outside of Sams but hey who cares we done it good and we done it at Sams. So after the meeting Ms Burns appeared and we dibed. Sans burger is exceptional the mussels are perfect. So much to say that words fail and only taste presentation and service can present. A must eat venue and a great place to sit and enjoy.

Whenever I am over in West London and have a free evening I always have Sam's Brasserie on my list of places to go. Once again it did not disappoint. Starters of Black pudding croquettes and then a lovely lamb main course, both of which were delicious. The service was excellent, friendly and unrushed and nothing was to much trouble. No dessert but the chocolate martini's are the best I have tasted anywhere in the world - Make sure you have one (or maybe two)

It was a saturday night so it was busy, but the high, large, echoey space with zero soft furnishings means that you will not get a peaceful or quiet experience. This is not the place for romantic dinners, It is however perfect for foreign spies or anyone worried that their conversation might be recorded,.or overheard, or indeed heard. There's no chance of that here. The food came in half the time quoted, which was good as we were able to finish it, skip the pudding and leave. The food is ok, but expensive for what it is. And £22 for a vegetarian meal with a side and a draught beer, is just far, far too much.I won't be back.

Excellent food but a bit too expensive. I had Nashville chicken - strongly recommended - probably the best chicken I've ever had! Sides (chips/ potatoes etc.) are at £3.50 each.

Been to Sam's a couple of times now and always enjoyed what I ate but never really been blown away. It was mobbed on a Monday night when we went. The welcome from the maître d was less than enthusiastic and we were moved to a table for two tucked away in a corner, when we asked to move we were told it wasn't possible. We drank a decent range of craft lagers at £5 a bottle. All if which were dumped on the table and not poured. Starters were the real winners. Clam chowder was fantastically rich and deep, loaded with bacon and seafood. The black pudding croquettes packed a punch if flavour and the Guinness dip was a nice touch. Mains disappointed slightly, my partners ribs were over done and slightly dry whilst my 'Nashville hot chicken' was a glorified schnitzel. Paying 3.50 for a bowl of boiled potatoes swimming in the fat of Gubeen cheese was unpleasant. Some good parts, some bad parts, fairly expensive. Better places to eat in Chiswick.

Stayed in London for a shopping weekend break. This place was recommended by hotel staff where we were staying at Kensington area. The breakfast was very good. We had eggs Benedict and meal was great. Merci! I can't remember the name of the waiter but he was extremely funny! The location is a bit far from central London but Chiswick is a nice area to walk and relax after a shopping day. 100% we will come back when visiting London.

It was a friend's birthday dinner midweek. We arrived a little early so sat at the bar and had one of the nicest margaritas, the cocktail list was good, some classics, and some twists. The ginger chilli rum one was delicious too. The wine list was very good too.The service was really excellent, we had a few different waitresses, they were all really professional and friendly and gave helpful recommendations. The atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I look forward to coming again

This was a very very enjoyable meal, we had the pork ribeye with borlotti beans as recommended on some TA reports, very tasty and well presented. (I now need to locate pork ribeye at the butchers).Very communicative and helpful staff. We had a 6:30 booking and were told on sitting that the table was booked again for 9:00pm, this was great knowing so we could keep an eye on the clock whilst not rushing and not once did we feel rushed by the staff. (So many times you go places and feel the staff are trying to rush you and clear the table and it puts a dampener on the meal- but knowing beforehand certainly creates a more relaxed understanding, and so I found this little snippet a nice touch.)Great vibe and atmosphere.Definately we will be returning.

Firstly my perennial complaint about Trip Advisor and its designation of family as two adults and two small children. Some of us still go out with our adult children. I have not been in Sam's Brasserie since its renovation two or three years ago. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Considering it is a conversion out of part of an old light industrial site its ambience is remarkably good. The service was faultless and attentive and all of us were pleased with our food be it steak, ribs or in my case for once the vegetarian option (though I must admit to receiving titbits from other plates). Puddings were delicious and my pecan pie was one of the best I have had beating my chef sister's hands down. We shall certainly return possibly on one of the evenings when they are playing jazz.

Went with work colleagues for our Christmas Dinner and had a very enjoyable evening/meal. There was a nice atmosphere and the food was generally enjoyable but unfortunately I do have to make a couple of negative comments - I had Kedgeree, which didn't look anything like a kedgeree although it did sort of taste right and the smoked haddock was virtually non existent. (in the photo it is hidden under the greenery). The venison was very nice but the potato fondant was under cooked and hard for desert I had chocolate fondant and that was very nice. The service was good with friendly staff
