Sammy's Bar & Grill in North Norfolk

We had walked from Cromer to Sheringham on he beach and back via coastal path found ourselves in east runton , what a great treat we found Sammys . The Sunday lunch was delicious, great service and dog friendly what’s not to like ! If you are in the area definitely worth a visit .

We went here while on holiday in Cromer and had a lovely meal. The staff are friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

It was our 2nd stay at Sammy's and they didnt let us down. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfy. Hayley the manager was warm and friendly and made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was delicious thanks to Paul the chef. We will definitely be going back next year. Visited here many times and even had our daughters 18th here , great place lovely Staff and amazing food. We opted for the Sunday roast and we were not disappointed, roast beef was so tender and generous portions too plenty of vegetables and potatoes and extra gravy if required. Hayley and the Staff work very hard and are always happy and friendly. My daughter had the sticky toffee pudding and we had the spotted dick and custard (yummy) and at £12.95 for two courses excellent value too.

Nice food, especially the pizza, good choice of well made pizzas, bit restricted on other choices. The service was friendly and timely, a good trickle of customers, not overly busy but was a Monday night! Ambience was a bit lacking with lights far too bright, could be made really nice rather than like a dentists waiting room. Good choices of beer and wine. Good Covid adherence with separate entrance and exit doors. Outside seating for those not eating.

Dined once here during our stay, and it was quite good in our opinion. Booked a table over the phone, as advised it was near capacity with covid restrictions, and glad we did. Both of us had pizza, and acouple of pints. All served in a friendly efficient manner by attentive but not intrusive staff. No pressure to hurry up and finish either.One brilliant innovation was the menu on a portable blackboard, which was brought close and turned for us to view and choose. Saved printing single use menus and very clever! Would definitely visit again.

Nice place but had no ales on (says its a bar??) I Had the margarita pizza which was OK, my wife had the scampi but was disappointed with the hardness of the crumb and the chips were frozen ones,overall nothing special

Had a lovely meal shared starter of Nachos with sour cream cheese salsa and jalapeños very generous portion. Scampi for me and beef burger for hubbie. Staff are friendly and everything is in place for Covid safety.

Travelled to cromer via bus for a nice meal, or so we thought! Asked a local to recommend, ‘hmmmm, you’ll be lucky to find somewhere decent here’, so we got back on the bus and stumbled on Sammy’s on return journey to our camp site. Scampi and fish cakes a little over cooked but as were both starving, it was palatable and nicely presented. Sat outside and nice choice of wines so the evening was saved!

Four of us had dinner and the food and service were excellent. The portion sizes were very good and everything was cooked from fresh. We all shared starters all had mains and drinks and for £95 we thought it was excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

We just had a lovely meal at Sammy’s. We have two young children and so we were a table of 4. We were on holiday to the area so we were randomly trying out restaurants... had a questionable fish and chips from our campsite the previous night so was hoping to find something better. And to stumble upon this little gem made our holiday. It’s a small place which appears to have been a former pub? Inside, it’s clear it has been renovated and looks bright and inviting. Perfect for a family. Food was delicious and good portion sizes. Cameout at good intervals. What made me write this review was the service. Our waiter was really helpful and good with the kids. He explained the fact you can change menu choices into kids menu and chatted with them which we have found is something many places struggle to do at the moment. He was attentive, checked on us throughout the meal and clearly is enthusiastic about what he does. Covid wise, tables well spaced and not squashed in at all and one way system which worked well. Felt very comfortable here. Menu a good size with a good number of dishes and choice - seafood/pizza/burgers/pasta. All set out nicely on blackboards. Good value. Would come again when I am next in the area - keep it up! 5 stars!

Walked up after travelling up to Norfolk and hoping to get a table - quickly seated and service was very good - Good choice of Pizza, other dishes available - Service throughout was very good and drinks reasonably priced. Starters good and probably shouldn’t have had them as they were a good sized portion - the Mixed seafood dish was a tad expensive but it was very nice and couldn’t complain at portion sizes - My wife couldn’t eat all the pizza and without asking was offered a takeaway box - Overall no complaints and good food and service.

Ate here yesterday evening, 4 adults and 2 teenagers, the young waitress does not have a clue about customer service, ordered a selection of starters between us which took 45 minutes to arrive, no one asked if we would like to order more drinks.When the main courses arrived she asked if we would like more cutlery, had to point out we never had any cutlery with our starters, She then just dumped a bundle of cutlery on the edge of the table for us to sort out ourselves, no napkins offered, had to request condiments as nothing was offered.Very disappointed with the main courses, ordered fish cakes which came with sides of fries and salad, requested more of the salad and just a few fries but when the 2 lots of fish cakes arrived they were identical with no additional salad as requested, when mentioned to the waitress who took the order she apologised said it was her error and brought additional side of salad then charged an additional £3 for their error! Fish cakes were clearly shop bought and not homemade but tasted ok but at £15 very pricey fish cakes! My husband ordered the “fish basket” at £16 - very poor value, was a small bowl same size as what the chips came in and literally had 4 pieces of squid and a couple of deep fried prawnsSoft drinks are expensive, £4 for a glass of coke - same price as the pint of Guinness Not sure we would return as expensive for the quality of food and the young waitress let the team down

Had a couple of meals recently to take advantage of the EOTHO scheme. In a group of 6 we had main courses and drinks and came to £15 a couple! Food was great! No one had any complaints! We had to wait a while for our table to be ready but it was because a lot of customers were taking the tables just to sit and drink!! We were kept informed when our table would be ready and it was great service. Hayley was very polite and considerate and the waitresses were brilliant, especially Daisy!! Highly recommended!!!

After booking via phone and then calling in 2 days before for a drink and to confirm the booking we turned up on time to find out they'd given our table to someone else! Had to wait 50 mins to get seated plus our party was split up on 2 tables not next to each other. Do not rely that you are booked in and the table will be reserved for you!

Had 2 meals here in 3 days. Lovely welcome and fab service by all staff. Food yummy and cant wait to return 😁

4 of us had dinner there over the weekend. No notification that a vastly reduced menu was on offer. We had 3 starters of calamari then mains of 1 scampi, 1 fish basket, 1 pizza and 1 chicken burger. 6 drinks and the bill was £107.00. The food was average BUT the 2 waitresses were lovely. Really smiley, really helpful and really lovely young girls. An asset to the place for sure. Really disappointing dinner though. Wouldn't go back.

We booked a table to eat outside in person on Monday 3rd August for 19.15 hrs on Wednesday 5th August . We were shown where we would be seated which was under cover on a row of tables to the right hand side of the premises . On the Wednesday we were running a little late and I rang to inform them that we would not arrive until approx 19.30 hrs which they didnot have a problem with . On arrival we reported in and were told to just go outside and select any table . The tables in the area where it was indicated we would be seated were either occupied or had reserve signs on none of which had our name on . All the other tables were occupied almost exclusively by customers just having a drink . At this point we left . Also one other little niggle was when I arrived I put a face mask on to enter the building and was told by the woman I reported into that I didnot have to wear a mask inside . Whether I did or not I didnot think it was right that this was commented on and also I would think it unwise in the current situation to discourage anyone in any way of wearing a face covering in a confined space .

This was a lucky find. Family called here for a few drinks and later decided to eat here as well. The pizzas were exceptional including one gluten free pizza which was the best I’ve ever had - usually they are small and pretty grim! Management and staff are really lovely too. Highly recommended.

This is a greatly located bar and grill with such nice staff who offer service that meet the sort of criterion I would formulate, particularly the bar man he was very chatty, friendly and approachable if you needed something. Despite, the food being delicious- (we had 4 pizzas, a salad and cheesy chips as a side) we waited way over an hour for this! I understand the pizzas are homemade and they are quite a busy restaurant, however, I thought it was quite a wait for a meal which was a pizza. But on a positive perspective, the pizza was how I really wished it to be and good value for money a good quality pizza any of which were under £10 and 12 inches and the waitress allowed us to take a box away when my Mum and Brother couldn’t finish it all! I’m aware there are other dishes which looked great! But as a conclusion, the restaurant was clean, the decor was nice and the service was good therefore all reasons are conflated in leading me to be happy with the overall experience whilst on my holiday! I would give you 4.5 stars if I could, but I can’t the only reason I knocked off a star is because the wait was quite long for 4 pizzas in my opinion. Thank you, for a great visit!

Absolutely gorgeous food. All made from scratch and very reasonable prices!! If this place was in Cromer town centre it would be busy all year round. An absolute definate visit for all holiday makers and locals.

We are regular visitors to Sammy’s and we booked to eat for valentines night. As always amazing friendly service from the wonderful Hayley - and delicious rib eye steak cooked to perfection! All washed down with a delicious bottle of wine. It’s a great place and an asset to the Village!

We stayed here over Xmas , very welcoming, lovely & clean modern room . Food was great too . I would highly recommended.

I had mostly avoided Sammy’s because it looked a bit pricey and it didn’t serve draught ales ... but things have changed a bit. Excellent, sensibly priced food was served and the beers were better, with the promise of draught beer being available once the trade picks up. We received a great welcome, had a comfortable table and were offered specials in addition to a menu of pasta, pizza, burger etc. A prawn linguini and cottage pie were first rate, hot, fresh and filling. With beer and wine the price of around £32.00 was much appreciated. I will go back, with family and friends. Give it a go.

Would recommend Sammy’s to everyone!Sam made us feel welcome from the start, we met his lovely family, had a drink in the bar and checked into our room which was modern, fresh clean and a great size. Our dog was welcome too. We ate in the restaurant twice and loved the food. You can walk into Cromer via the beach, it took around 20 minutes. Great place, loved it, thank you Sam. Sam & Adie

Really enjoyed the food, it was delicious. It was very quiet and we got seated straight away, the waitress was lovely. The decor was good and the place clean. But the food was amazing.

Fab food we ate prawn linguine the food and wine was just perfect it was well worth the wait we are so looking forward to out visit again

We stayed at Sammy’s for two nights with our dogs.I cannot fault anything ,food fantastic...freshly cooked using quality ingredients. Hayley who is front of house is brilliant, really helpful and very friendly without invading your space, she has two doggie friends for life after giving them sausages for dinner. Sam your breakfast is the best I have eaten in a long while, excellent bacon and sausages, it’s the little things that make food good, tomatoes cooked to perfection, mushrooms not greasy but cooked perfectly.Room was clean and very comfortable.This is a perfect escape for a relaxing break. We will defiantly be back and will recommend to all our friends and family!Lee & Donna Baines

I was camping nearby with my children and they fancied pizza for dinner so we wandered down in the rain. Young lady behind the bar said I'm afraid that none of the kitchen staff have turned up..... so we popped next door to the Fishing Boat.Next day, boys still fixated on pizza so we thought we'd give them another go for lunch. Checked opening times on the website and google (12:00 so all good). Arranged to meet a friend there at 12:30 and we all arrived to find it closed!! Blackboard outside shows opening time 16:00. Try updating your website!!!Won't be bothering again

We visited Sammy's bar and Grill several times whilst on a 2 week break in September. It is light and airy and the staff were very welcoming. The bar is dog freindly, the drinks are reasonably priced and the food was well presented and very good. Try the chicken wings

Had weekend break and after reading reviews ate here, excellent meals my wife ate scampi and I had burger. Food excellent value and loads of it. Host excellent and if go back to Norfolk would definitely come back here.

Called and had a drink followed by a superb meal,the staff were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Everything was excellent and would highly recommend. In addition the music playing was great and set a really good atmosphere

We decided to visit Sammy’s after being turned away from two other restaurants as they had run out of food which coincidently ended very well for us as we were not disappointed by the pizza at Sammy’s.

Stopped in for takeaway pizza here as we are staying at woodhill park campsite 5 mins away......AMAZING PIZZAS FRESH HOT LOVELY DOUGH DELICIOUS AND READY IN 10 MINS......whole family UTTERLY delighted, just what we had in our hungry minds, thank you Sammy !!!

We booked a table here for 4 adults and a toddler on Thursday 22 08 2019. The owner and staff were very helpful, the place is very clean and tidy. The food was superb. We had a table of 8 people on a busy Saturday early evening. The staff were very friendly and service was spot on. A good selection of food on the menu with a few specials added. All our food was well presented and very tasty. Have never seen such a big slice of chocolate fudge cake.... yum yum. Would definitely recommend to friends and will be back again

We went here for my birthday while camping nearby. We had 2 children with us and booked a table for 5.45 so we weren't hitting the busy period.

Visited here with the other half enjoyed the food, the beers were unfamiliar to me but tasted ok if not a bit steep. Lovely and clean place though.

Visited one evening and very impressed. Decent grub and a good selection. Personally, I didn’t think the prices were too expensive, given the size of the portions and the quality; everything is cooked to order. No reheating stuff here! Staff very good. Would recommend.

We both had the meat pizza with a side of chips. Waitress was friendly and took our order promptly but we waited nearly half hour for food and it wasn't busy.

We were on holiday in East Runton and had takeaway pizzas which were first class and very reasonable priced.

We decided to book a quiet week in a cottage in East Runton. What we found was not only a lovely little coastal village, but this great bar & grill called Sammy’s.

My wife and I are retired. We have been holidaying in UK for three weeks, including stays in Cornwall at St Austell and at Trebetherick. For the last two nights we have stayed at the north coast of Norfolk at Sammy's Bar & Grill, just before visiting my elderly sister in Suffolk. We came to this coast for a quiet rest break before getting into family matters.

Live music and trip advisor reviews bought us in to a totally unexpected gem. Absolutely loved it. So dog friendly too. Pizza fab and staff couldn’t do enough for us.

Had a few drinks in Sammy's whilst watch the Grand National, not the cheapest place to drink in East Runton but it is probably the nicest. We have also here also on previous occaisions and was excellent food.

Visited on Sunday 5th after calling to reserve an hour before. We were greeted promptly but a few of the drinks on the menu weren't available when we asked for them. I had scampi and partner had a Hawaiian pizza. Both were really nice and tasted really fresh. Make sure you book as the couple next to us did not and weren't served as quickly and eventually walked out. They were very rude though. Our service was great though.

Had the calamari rings which were the best I can remember having proper calamari change not the rubbery thin nonsense you get in some places nowadays clearly homemade breadcrumbs and a delightful sweet chilli dip. Followed by the rib special which again was the best ribs I have tasted in quite some time giant portion very few bones and tasted of real quality. Only negative was it was so big that the quality of it seemed a waste not being able to eat it all. Perhaps a little price to what we'd usually pay for something similar but when the standards are this high you can't complain at a little extra cost. Dog friendly to and really kind and attentive waitress without being to over the top which is always a plus. If we were to return to the area would certainly come again.

A real gem . We walked from Cromer with the dog . We were a little unsure what to expect but what a pleasure . Really friendly service , food served quickly and hot . Really tasty food and the lady was attentive but not in your face . Would definitely recommend a visit .

Went to Sammys to stay for 2nights. warm welcome, shown to room which was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. bathroom had big shower, shampoos, conditioner & body wash. drinks tray was well stocked with tea & coffee. ate at the restaurant scampi, chips & salad, the dressing was lovely. hubby had fish cakes, chips & salad again great food. the breakfast is extra to the room but so worth it. well cooked, great ingredients and served from 8-10am, Sammy let us decide, so 9.30am it was. would definately recommend and will return.

We went for dinner. Myself and my daughter has a daily special of the lasagne . I can say that both of us were disgusted at what was served. Who ever made it had no clue what a lasagne is. No tomato or cheese sauce and hardly any lasagne or tomatoes. Then it was burnt and bits around the edges were so hard you couldn't get your knife in it. We complained and got a refund as being offered another lasagne was not appetising. Its was a shame as the place was all refurbished. The food let it down badley. I won't go back there.

Visited on a Saturday night whilst staying nearby. The place was clean and tastefully decorated. We had booked a table which we were glad about as per of the tables had reserved sign s on them. Although they mostly remained empty whilst we were there. I had the seafood which was delicious, cooked well and nicely presented. Hubby had king ribs which he throughly enjoyed. Our friend had the lasagne from the special menu, whilst it looked ok she said it had little flavour. Personally I will return.

back again can not fault. yum yum for the nachos and scampy. service good, wine lovely, beer good. will definately be back again.

Food was excellent and plentiful! Good menu and well stocked bar, prices very reasonable. Nice to see an independent place making a go if rather than all the chains.

Have eaten often always lovely food and atmosphere. Modern and friendly. For such a small village very upmarket.

We went because we had been recommended. Strangely enough as per last review the lasagne had sold out as had the ribs! The sour cream had sold out so had the salted caramel brownie! So many things on a somewhat limited menu being so out rings warning bells for me. Perhaps they are inexperienced and haven't calculated how much they need yet; perhaps the supplier won't re supply because a bill is outstanding; maybe business is not good and they are running down stocks ready to close. I don't know - that's just my experience.

Do not believe what their own website says!! It does not open at 12.00 it opens at 4pm. They do not do ribs as a main, despite the menus saying you can have skinny fries, they do not do them any more. The specials menu had lasagne on it despite it not being available, why not put a line through or rub it off? They seem to push you to order drinks before you get chance to look at the menu (we would have walked had we had chance to look at the menu as I think the other couple in there would have done). To walk into a restaurant to no smell of food is not good. This was all in the first five minutes, as I said, if we hadn’t been pushed to order drinks so quickly, we would have left. This happened to everyone who came in which made us wonder if it was done purposefully. The wine itself was very expensive for a mediocre 11.5% Zinfandel rose, I looked online and it is available in some places for less than £3, they charged us £17. There was a fly annoying us throughout the meal which is never a good thing in a restaurant. We had been there for about an hour before they turned off the tv and put some music on.

What a relief to find a table on a Saturday night! We hadn’t booked and had left it late so when I phoned up and the lady said we could book a table I was so pleased.

We visited after being recommended this restaurant, I went online and looked at the menu and reviews before our visit. Being a grill we were all looking forward to a nice sirloin steak but were told they had sold out ‘a few days ago’, we also ordered pimms ( also sold out) and a beer moretti (also sold out) not a good start! There was food under our table from the previous customer and the mayonnaise bottle looked like it had been dipped in ketchup, all in all not very appealing. We ordered the chicken strips for starter which were delicious followed by burgers which seemed slightly over cooked. Quite a disappointing visit, quite expensive, which is a shame as we had previously been told it was a good place to eat.

I was recommended this place from buster, me and my partner had a weekend away in Cromer so our first place was Sammy’s. It didn’t disappoint, the white bait was lovely and my partner enjoyed his chicken. We both had the burger but it was slightly on the dry side. We were to full for desert, but the gentleman serving us was attentive and polite and everywhere was clean. Great start to a get away. Many thanks

So it's perfect for families in the nearby caravan sites and justifiably popular. We had a very pleasant evening meal there and their pizzas are very impressive. I had a 'seafood basket' which I thoroughly recommend. It was a pity that there was only one 'Italian' pasta dish available ( on the specials board ). It is very near an excellent but not well known beach so well worth a visit.

Ate at Sammy's a couple of times in August. We were camping nearby and it was great to have a good burger and pizza eatery nearby. The décor is slightly rustic slightly retro American. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the service was slow on both occasions - 55minutes for a pizza! The food itself was pretty good, the burgers are large and tasty. The pizzas were also quite reasonable. There is also a good choice of beers at the bar. Price wise it is a little on the high side but just about OK. I liked the place, so did my grandson who was with me and would go again. I think if they could be a little more informative of the likely wait time it would be helpfull.

We walked here from our camping park - so the location was really ideal. The meal we had was a reasonable and the food was pretty good.

First time in Sammy’s despite being fairly local. Starters were excellent and we all opted for the Pizzas which were top notch. Staff attentive but apart from the food there is nothing to entice you back as there is no feel of a “ bar” and you can’t help but wonder that a trick is being missed in enticing the many hundreds of campers and caravaners and their families who walk past and mabey just want a quick drink but are put off by the London beer prices . Perhaps that’s the owners intention I don’t know but I could not fault the food

Last visit was great. Unfortunately this one not so. I own a caravan site locally and won’t be recommending here any more unfortunately. Had starters in reasonable time but then waited 45 mins after our starters were cleared for a main course which wasn’t even cooked! It was antipasti so cured meats that just need bunging on a plate. Restaurant wasn’t full had 12 covers in it. Spoke to bar and offered to pay for starters and leave, they said 1 minute and food will come out. Food then never showed as “chef dropped it on the floor”. We had to leave as had two kids with us and it was now 8.30pm. So said we would not wait and pay up. Shocked that they actually charged me!!

Having just moved to teh area we popped in for a quick bite and wasn't dissapointed. Great menu with lots of variety, quality food and excellent service.

Came to Cromer for the weekend with my partner and couldn’t be happier. Room was comfy and clean, staff (esp Hayley on the bar) was welcoming and very helpful with any queries we had. They put the England game on TV on Saturday with our Sammy’s Classics (burgers) which made the weekend!

Walked into the village looking for something to eat and came across Sammy’s! We went for a burger & pizza and both were very tasty! Reasonable prices too! Thumbs up from us! 👍🏻

Saw it was open and popped in. The burgers are very tasty and with Moretti beer on tap a winner. Would visit again.

Was going to another place for lunch ,but saw offer of 2 courses for £9. We (4 of us and 2 dogs ) were not disappointed. Friendly staff and lovely burgers and steak and kidney puddings. We all enjoyed the cheesecake with ice cream and sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely return as somewhere on the north Norfolk coast you don't have to spend a fortune on a decent meal.Small car park but large car park just round the corner .

Didn’t book and were offered an outside table but the really helpful waitress managed to accommodate us inside. Great meal. Stuffed potato skins recommended and the Sammy Burger. Washed down with a few beers and some G&T;’s. A pleasant evening. Thank you

If you are in the area be sure to visit. Dog friendly too. Very clean and friendly. Food is great. Large portion sizes. If you can't eat it all get it to takeaway. Has a well stocked bar too.

Had by-passed this restaurant in favour of The Village Inn the previous evening (much to daughter's chagrin); decided to give it a whirl after being thoroughly disappointed and keen to heed daughter's advice. A much better food experience although the setting not as great (just off the pavement of the main road)- but don't let that put you off - we sat outside because of the nice weather and we had our dog with us (not sure if dog friendly inside). Inside lovely. Food was excellent - between us we sampled hot dog, burgers and chicken tenders (strips essentially). Well prepared and cooked, beautifully presented, incredibly appetising and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Still a tad more expensive than we're used to but we certainly felt that it was better value for money than the previous evening's experience.

Wasn't sure where to go after one of our favourites really let us down. We were staying in a caravan behind Sammy's and thought that the menu looked very nice. We booked a table (but didn't need to) and went straight there. Sat down and were served instantly by a lovely polite young lady. The menu was reasonably priced and had everything we wanted on it. The children absolutely loved their food and my fish platter mix was excellent. We enjoyed the great music playing in the back ground and listening to a few of the locals putting the world to right! Whole family would visit again. Lovely food and great company.

Very tasty food. I come regularly now it’s my favourite place to eat. I took my friend from London here who is critical about all food and she loved it. Lots of options. Nice to see the owner of the restaurant making sure we have a great experience. Very passionate team.

We were at Sammys for 2 nights. The rooms look to be recently renovated wth nice furnishings and ensuite. We have a baby girl and found it very family friendly. Food was excellent especially the pizza's. Staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay at Sammy’s could not fault the room fresh white linen, bed was so comfortable, spacious and well put together. The food was excellent we had both Italian and American during our stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Close to many different things to see and do. Loved walking around and exploring the area.

Very disappointing we fancied the carbonara ! Everything was fine staff lovely place lovely ordered two lovely glasses of white wine beautifully presented in lovely glasses . The carbonara was not good , the sauce tasted some what sour and the ham was very hard and fatty very disappointing. When asked if everything was okay , politely said it wasn’t fine we were offered another dish but declined we didn’t have time to wait for another dish to be prepared. On paying the bill not a word no apologies nothing . Customer service very bad good luck guys

We popped in Saturday night with our dog, Sammys is very local to us. First time we have tried the new pizza and Pasta menu, Wow really impressed, best pizza and Pasta we've had since living in Norfolk, added bonus they deliver local! Lovely friendly service and prompt. Can't recommend enough.

Came here with a few friends for a meal I had really high hopes and was looking forward to it all day, came in no menus on the table not the end of the world but would have been nice though start having a look while waiting for a drinks order to be taken (it took a while for that to happen) when we eventually did get our drinks order taken it took a good 10-15 mins for them to arrive, there was only one server so this was understandable and we didn’t mind too much. Then it came to ordering food, I ordered the pulled pork burger it was meant to be served with onion rings in the burger what came with them was literal onion rings with no batter slightly annoying and no what I was expecting, I also asked for skinny fries, I was told they didn’t have any, had to have chunky chips not my fave again not the end of the world but no what I wanted! My friend ordered a steak she asked for it med rare it came pretty much mooing, also the amount of fat there was through the steak was unacceptable for the price (£24 btw- we did have the steak taken off the bill because of this issue) half way through our meal we ordered some more drinks, they took another 15-20 mins to arrive at this point the restaurant wasn’t very busy and we were starting to get a bit annoyed, I have worked in restaurants for a few years and I know how restaurants should work this place is majorly let down by the servers attitude and slowness! As I said the food wasn’t that bad, we also ordered desserts my friend ordered the waffle with salted caramel ice cream, my friend noticed that the waffle had come out with vanilla ice cream we let the waitress know she said she’d fix it and get a bowl of the salted caramel ice cream, the ice cream eventually arrived about 15 mins after we had made the waitress aware by which time my friend had eaten the waffle very annoying to not get what you order! We raised the issue at the bar when we came to pay and my friend said she wasn’t happy paying for the waffle because of the ice cream arriving so late after receiving it! The waitress instead of apologising decided to roll her eyes and argue, her attitude was disgusting, I have honestly never had service like this! We won’t be returning which is a shame because we all had such high hopes about this place!!

This restaurant offers mainly a selection of burger, pizza and pasta dishes at an average price of about 12 pounds for a main. The food is cooked well enough but it is certainly not fine dining and mainly deep fried or placed in an oven, so little skill seems to be involved. However, It's well presented and you get a fair portion. It's supposed to look like an American Diner, but we found it too brightly lit and stark looking. Not much on the walls and the tiled bar looked a bit too much like the decor found in a rest room. It needs softening with some wood or something and maybe some art work on the walls. It seemed very plain and lacking in atmosphere. It was clean and the staff were friendly, though they got our order wrong and seemed unconcerned. It's very busy and seemed therefore to be popular, but it wasn't to my taste.

Recently visited sammys for a family meal and again not disappointed, food is great and reasonably priced with good choices, enjoyed the addition of the pizza and pasta dishes along with the other dishes on the menu. Staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble . We had a range of food from pizzas,(large and very tasty) burgers(excellent) king prawn tagliatelle (absolutely gorgeous) rustic fries, chicken. Good generous portions and piping hot with good atmosphere in restaurant.

What a great place! We had a super meal, good wine and excellent service, The staff were attentive and very friendly. This establishment is an asset to a very small seaside village and would encourage everyone to try it. My husband can’t wait until the real ale pumps are in action (I can.....because I’ll then have to drive.....oh, well.....it’s only fair...)

We wanted somewhere to stay for one night on the coast and we are so glad we found this little gem. Our room was out the back, very private and simply but beautifully furnished. Very clean and tons of teabags! Plenty of toiletries too.

8 of us ate there ( 5 adults & 3 children) last night. Very friendly staff from the moment we arrived to when we left. Good selection of drinks - Red Stripe, Morretti and IPA all on draught. Even though milkshakes weren’t on the menu they were more than happy to knock them up for 4 of us -thank you. The burgers were very good - tasty, juicy and cooked just right. The 12inch hot dog also got rave reviews. Desserts were very good, the type you’d expect in a bar & grill place- chocolate brownie, waffles, baked cheesecake. We all had a great evening and will surely return if we are back in the area. Thank you very muchly.
