Really lovely hotel with the nicest staff. From front of desk to Clare, who greeted us for breakfast. The room was spotless, the bathroom was clean, and the food was just perfect, not alot on the menu, but just the right sort of grub! My only reason for not giving the 5th star was the drainage in the shower was abit slow, and the water was standing in the shower tray for too long.

Clean enough. Staff helpful. Not sure on there early check in arrangements as the couple before us could and the couple after. Our room wasn't ready. Why a room is pre allocated?!

Our overnight stay at the Samlesbury was first class. The room was clean, comfortable with a well appointed bathroom. As we were part of a coach party the catering was organised to cope with us a body and to set menu format. Thus despite being denied access to the hotel's full menu it has to be admitted our meal was very acceptable. The same format and conditions applied to breakfast the next morning. Despite the proximity of a major road very close to the hotel, our room was delightfully quiet. As a hotel in which to break up, and recuperate from a long day's traveling the Samlesbury Hotel Preston can only be described as "Ideal". If our travels take us in the vicinity of the Samlesbury again, we will happily stay there again.

Outdated, awful smell, no longer has breakfast included in the price. Honestly, I don't think it's worth the price.

Cannot grumble. Rooms are a little dated but comfortable. I could only get warm or hot water out of the tap but they gave me a bottle of water for the kettle. Food was good, locally sourced. The only down side was that there is a water treatment plant opposite which I noticed on the first night.

Lovely room but service was not so good. Wrote this three years ago. Had to come here for one night as all other hotels were booked. This was my sign to never come back again. Did not sleep a wink thanks to the uncomfortable tiny bed and thin walls. Window was not properly sealed, letting a draught in and noise too. Could hear footsteps in the corridor and to top it off there was a blaring alarm at 4:30 AM! No apologies from the hotel or no info about what happened. A joke of a place. £70 at Premier inn and a bigger room with a much nicer bathroom. BYYYEEE

I used to work at their factory at Bamber Bridge, Preston. They are filthy people. They are using common wellington shoes in the factory, i had to wear the wellington shoes used by different people and it is dirty. They are using overseas people for work. My shift was 2-10, but i have to work upto 10 past 10 and even more for which i do not get paid. We mean to be there at 2 pm and mean to work up to 10pm. Most of the factories are finishing and cleaning 5 to 10 to minutes before the end of the shift. They keep on working even after end of the shift, some times 10 or 15 minutes more. It is hard to find any English face there. They do not pay for any break. Packing is disorganised and can see sandwiches and other end products on the dirty floor. I have got electric shocks twice from the packing machine and when reported they told me to use rubber gloves before touching the machine and even not bothered to mend it. I wont buy any thing from B&M made by this factory. Beware of Doggy Dave down there he is filthy and using Asian workers as body guard.

We walked out of the cold of Leyland into the warmth of a Mediterranean welcome. Drinks were prompt and the downstairs bar area was clean and comfortable, relaxed with both high bar style tables and normal seating. The restaurant area upstairs was open plan with a calm and organised kitchen area for final prep (no loud noise) and plenty of comfortable tables. The food was amazing, hummus that was obviously very fresh and full of flavour with fresh bread and a crunchy salad. Kebabs, lamb and chicken was full of flavour (but not overly spicy) and steaming rice with a garnish of fresh veg and Sunak spice. We'll be back!

This is NOT a review of the food and venue as I know it is always excellent. What this is, is a review of the table booking system. Twice now I have booked a table online and each time I have had to call them as I didn't receive a confirmation email. Having called them this last time they informed me that although the online booking system accepts a booking, it doesn't actually reach the restaurant and hasn't done for months since a change of management. Therefore I strongly suggest that this is taken down at the earliest opportunity OR that it is properly reinstated as you will have someone turn up for a booking that doesn't exist.
