This place serves outstanding food. We’ve been here multiple times and never had a bad experience. The quality of food for the price is incredible. The service is always great and friendly.

The food was beautiful and the staff were friendly. The music was far too loud it was like being in a night club.

I don’t even know where to start. The menu was significantly pricier than stated in the window and the food was incredibly bland. The waiters weren’t friendly at all and service felt very rushed despite the restaurant not being busy. The whole experience was really off putting and the food wasn’t even hot upon arrival (which arrived 10 mins from ordering so definitely wasn’t cooked fresh). We weren’t made to feel welcome at all and will never be returning. Nothing short of disappointing.

Never been here before so with it being my birthday thought we would give it a try never again very disappointed. We arrived at 7pm there was few in the place so we got seated then a waiter asked what we would like to drink my husband had a pint of fosters and I asked for a half of diet coke when it came the fosters was flat with no life in it and my coke looked like a children's small glass baring in mind this was £2 I did ask the waiter is this a children's coke which he replied to as no, your were lucky to get two drinks out of this. Our food arrived potato skins for starter then pizza and pasta which was tasteless the pizza dough looked half cooked with very little topping and pasta had no taste, as we were eating they did seem to want you out of the place for a early finish sweeping around you while eating and a waitress standing picking her teeth with a cocktail stick which knocked me sick,you just don't do this while people are eating, while eating I popped to the toilet when I returned my husband said the waiter came over to take the plates away and my husband did have to say my wife is not finished yet, the service was not great and staff not at all friendly basically wanting a early finish while we were sitting finishing off our food the waitress did go and turn some lights off which I thought was really rude. We payed the bill left our drinks and left, without any member of staff saying thank you or bye this place is absolutely terrible and I am happy to say we would never return..

After a hard long day with our football team Wrekenton Nou Camp u11 boys fundraising in Tescos Gateshead, we came to Sambucas and the manager was fabulous as were all the staff. Service was excellent and the food was absolutely delightful. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Me my mother and niece went for lunch today we all ordered off the proper menu not the lunch special, every single meal we got was dry totally over cooked, seems the chef is only compitent enough to cook pizza or pasta, my salmon was so dry I didn't eat it the squid was rubbery and chewy, my nice had chicken Kiev it was so over cooked she couldn't even get her knife through it she sent it back, they brought another one out and that was just the same, my mam ordered surf and turf again the chicken was rock hard round the edges she was only able to eat a tiny amount of it, the prawn were like rubber, also I forgot to say I ordered brushetta for starters, which is supposed to be on nice crispy toasted fresh bread however it wasn't it was soggy bread from the tomatoes and olive oil needles to say I did not eat that either, the manager came over and only took the surf & turf off the bill, i certainly won't be back there to eat and because we complained every single member of staff were staring at us which made us all very uncomfortable.

First off me and my partner went for food after the cinema and when we arrived we where stood waiting for roughly 4min before sitting down and then when we sat down we werent given a menu so we sat and waited to be asked for drinks which took roughly 5min or so for the waitress to come over and ask us after we got our drinks after another 5min we still didnt get a menu until i asked after a waiter if we could get a menu he said they didnt realise we where sitting there other than that Great food i had the burger and my partner had the parmo. The burger was amazing I asked for no pickles and the burger came with them on and the chips where perfectly cooked and the sauce on the site was really nice. My partner said the parmo just had a ridiculous amount of cheese ontop and would of preferred it with a smaller parmo and chips and salad on the side as it didn't look appetising as it just had cheese everywhere oh we also asked for 2 galic dips with our food and we didnt get them so we asked the waiter if we could get them and he only gave us 1 dip . 4 stars might of just been a bad night would go again just hopefully get a better experience as the food we seen on tiktok made us want to go just a genuine review no hate towards the company

We came for the Sunday roast, which was great value at £11.95 per person for unlimited Sunday roast. The food was served self-service in a buffet style with the various meats carved by the staff. I tried a selection of all the meats together with all the various typical roast dishes such as roast potatoes, mash, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. A selection of other sauces such as mint sauce, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, etc., were also available. Unfortunately, most of the roast meats were dry, and the only better meats were the sausages and possibly the chicken. Most of the side dishes were good, although the roast potates could have been crispier, and it was nice to be able to add a variety of sauces. In particular, I liked the crispy stuffing and the swede mash. The service seemed slightly unfriendly and rushed in a way that it felt that they just wanted to turn over as many customers as possible during the busy Sunday roast. Overall, the place is good for an average Sunday roast for great value, but if you are looking for good quality, it's best to try elsewhere.

I eat there regularly as the food is extremely tasty, great presentation at a very good price with beautiful ambience. The manager and his staff are all always warm, welcoming and professional. I have eaten at alot of the Sambuca restaurants as well as many other great restaurants worldwide, I can say hand on heart this is my all round favourite and always look forward to dining there.

Food good the first time but one time the food was horrible chewy as if something was done to it

We went very last minute, turned up an hour before closing. Food was absolutely beautiful, we had cheesy garlic bread to start and a cajun and hot shot parmo. Couldn't fault anything. Service was great, food was outstanding. Portions were so big we had to take some home with us. Highly recommended!!

Atmosphere, presentation and physical features were good. The food was awful. Ordered a squid for starters it was greasy and tasteless. Didn’t like it. Provided feedback to the waiter and he just smiled and laughed. Ordered my mains which had massive chunks of onions in and looked as if it was rushed. Told the waiter again and he just laughed. Don’t think I will bother coming here again.

We had a lovely meal here on Thursday evening. We both had delicious, fresh, vegetable soup followed by a rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce and a fillet steak. Both came with all the trimmings and huge, freshly made chips. Fabulous meal, served by friendly and attentive staff. Definitely worth a visit and won't break the bank ☺️

We have been going to Sambuca Trinity Square for Sunday lunch for a few years now, it's the best Sunday roast we've had. We decided we wanted to try the Italian menu, wow when we thought the food could not get any better we were blown away by the beautiful food we had the pasta, calzone, and spicy burger, all three meals were beautifully cooked and tasted so good, and the homemade cheesecake desert was honestly the best we have ever tasted, we were brought complementary sambuca shots at the end of the meal which topped a great afternoon experience. We would like to thank all the staff at Sambuca for going above and beyond for making our visit so pleasurable every time we go you are all such an inspiration and such a credit to Sambuca. Can't wait for our next visit

We all ordered the 3 course special. Excellent value for money, good sized restaurant

First visit to this restaurant and liked it. Service is fast. Toilet facilities available. Ordered potato skin fry ,they were very greasy and not crunchy. Parking is free after 6.

Five of us called in for lunch on a Sunday. Whilst it was busy we had booked the day before and were seated within a few minutes. Two of our group had the carvery which they both loved. Others had a carbonara pasta dish, seafood pasta dish (marinara) and pizza Stagioni with a few anchovies added. The pizza was the best I have had in a long time and was perfectly cooked. We also had three starters, two desserts and a selection of beers and soft drinks. The whole bill came to £90 for the five of us and was great value for money. Nice relaxed atmosphere and good service. Will definitely be visiting again.

Went for a meal on friday evening to sambucas gateshead with my daughter as we do so often as normally you cant fault the service food or value for money...sadly on this occasion they let themselves down on arrival we went to the front and asked for a table for 2 the lady who greeted us was lovely and began showing us to a table the waitress stopped her and put us on another table no problem there i dont care where we sit i just want fed!!!! We order drinks and waitress comes and takes food order food we both go for steak fillet a surf and turf and steak jumbalia food arrives all good ....my steak was pretty overcooked again i dont mind as i order it medium but can eat it anyway they cook it...the surf and turf steak was perfect according to my daughter....as she took her last bite the waitress came said all finished and took the plates away she was still chewing!!!! It was as if we werent welcome there!!! I ordered a sambuca sunday when it came it was basically liquid with some cookie in it we then paid the bill roughly £70 i normally give a good tip but on this occasion i decided not too its such a shame as we thought wed found a good value resteraunt local to us sadly we wont be back for a while as the service was absolutely terrible!!!

From going in untill you leave all the staff are very friendly and ever so helpfull. A great choice of food from the menu or a fantastic sunday carvery. My opinion best in the North East for carvery

Value for money is unreal, presentation of food and drinks are great! Servers are attentive but not pushy, and the food was soooo tasty and came out fast! Only critic was Diana sauce was a little salty so definitely something to be aware off however but still enjoyed it!

Lovely Smash burger and better than BK, Smash burgers or Five Guys in my options, see pictures... my only complaint is you cannot get Bacon cheese burger, gladly pay extra £1.50 if needed, my suggestion is add options for extras like additional beef patty too, triple decker it, and hmmm add streaky bacon. My month treat is a burger and fries and I love to pig out when I do. Well done and don't change it, or go crazy with raising prices for burgers like the ones above who I mentioned. And what's better having a pint of Bierra Moretti with my burger too.

Huge respect for the waiting and kitchen staff at Sambucas. The place was heaving and for me uncomfortably noisy but the service was polite and efficient. The beef and yorkshire puddings superb. I don't know how the chef does the mashed swede but I loved it. I imagine at a quieter time it would 5 star. Many thanks

Good food at a decent price and decent service. Excellent fried squid, fish-cakes, pork belly + black pudding, fillet steak was perfectly cooked. Restaurant was incredibly busy with a lot of kids/teenagers but staff did really well and were swift to turnaround the tables. Whole family enjoyed our meal but please always check your bill so you are not overpaying as they added extra random items to our bill for the 2nd time in a week.

I wouldn't eat here if you have allergies or coeliac disease. We found the staff to be totally uneducated and to be honest rude and disrespectful. Such a shame as I've eaten here before and I would highly recommend Sambucas elsewhere as a whole. When I mentioned I had coeliac disease, I was greeted with, "are you ok with cross contamination", followed by a laugh. To cut a long story short we just decided to leave. If I could give zero stars, I would. Such a shame. We definitely won't be back!

Called in here for a quick one on our way to VUE cinema, great friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, great choice on menu and great service. Food was delicious we sampled a quick cheesy garlic bread and drink each. Wished restaurant had been open later than 9pm so we could have called in after our cinema visit to sample more from the menu.

You get what you pay for but everything was quite bland and watery. I didn't dare complain though as the staff were openly hostile. The manager in the white shirt was friendly however the waitresses were giving us dirty looks, sighing and outright laughing in my face because I asked if tomato soup was available ? She also told me to add chicken would be £1 but it was £4 on the bill. Again I didn't want to complain due to the hostility of the staff.

All-time favourite restaurant to choose when having dinners with friends. £8.95 savoury sets (soup/potato skin + pasta/pizza + coffee/ice cream), 12nn-9pm from Monday to Thursday; 12nn-4pm on Friday and Saturday. Normally we order potato skin as appetiser, that crunchy edge is tasty; also the tagliatelle Marinara and pizza Marinara, big portion as always filling with many seafoods. Definitely worth the money. Oh yeah the Garlic Bread with Cheese is a must-have item! Services are so welcoming and enthusiastic, especially Naly, David and Maria.

Food was OK but not what I would call restaurant standard. My husband asked for a Mediterranean salad and they brought a bigger portion of the side salad. We ordered sticky toffee pudding it came out cold and dry . Service was poor , it was the first time I have never been to a sambuca restaurant and to be honest I would never go again. Staff were turning up at the table with drinks for other tables walking away with half of the order no attention to detail bad experience all round.

This is only the 2nd sambuca I've ever been to other been south Shields. On a date night we were going to Vue to watch movie then decided last minute to go to sambucas. From walking in to leaving could not fault the whole experience. Staff so friendly not over friendly, atmosphere calming and relaxing. Food ten times better than South Shields quality, portion size and presentation. Service second to none, left feeling like we were only customers in establishment. Would definitely recommend a visit. Must of been good as my hubby left a tip which he never normally does

When we sat down, we ordered drinks. We went for the carvery and filled our plates. The drinks arrived when we almost finished our meal. The quality of food wasn't all good too. The mashed potato and carrots/swede mash was like slop. The roast potatoes need checking too. Would be awesome if they were not baby potatoes.

i was at sambucas at trinity square Gateshead on Saturday night and the food was amazing. We all had steaks which were cooked exactly the way you wanted, they were perfect. the staff were amazing too. had a fabulous night .please get your self there as you'll not regret it!

Called in for pre-cinema dinner. Overall we had a very good experience. Service was perfect, food was very good, and reasonable value and good portion sizes. Even a pint of Guinness came in at under my own self imposed rule of a max £5 a pint. Only just mind! Only one slight negative was the slightly over loud music. Other than that a nice start to our evening. As for the cinema experience that followed next door. That's a whole different story.

awful experience a male waiter with a tshirt 10x too small for him with glasses and swings his arms about stood there and done nothing except from seat us he was rude when we asked him simple questions about the lunch time special ,he got 2 girls to do everything for him, these girls were clearly busy with other customers and he kept telling them to do other things in a rude manner,food was ok drinks were handed over quickly, stairs were not ok me and my partner slipped down them and have both bruised our backs and legs
