Lovely food here we had fish box special £16 .was in a big pizza box even the dog had her tea to .has a huge menu dont know what to try next !10/10 from.us leybourne fisheries 😁

1st order ( for delivery), got to say over the moon with order, we got 3 munch box's, large fish and a cowboy special, all came piping hot , and tasted fantastic, fish is the best I've had in years !. Munch box's are massive and a fantastic selection from the pizzas which are loaded with toppings and excellent tasty base ( just right thickness too!). Also bonus delived during the day which keeped the kids happy too !!. 10/10 will be using again

Ordered and collected, ordered 3 spam fritters and fish and chips. Fish was okay, chips were dry and hard! The spam fritters were awful! Square and weren’t cooked! Horrible! £18.00 later! Not worth the money and think I was over charged! Didn’t bother to question it had two small tired children!! Will not go back and not even there other shop on York rd! Rather have a slim fast shake!

Great value meals. Portions are huge, compared to other chippies. Highly recommended

I got curry and chips as u had a spare half hour. I would give them an 8/10 as although the chips were a good fresh colour, they were warm only. It wasnt busy being lunch time and feel it could be a one off but i have to speak as i find and this is how i found it. I love tge notive on the counter. It maked a lot of sense. Normally I don’t do take away fish and ship. It was my first time at Leybourne Fisheries , I would say the best fish and ship I ever had. The fish was so freshly. The staffs was very friendly. I would recommend anyone. 5 stars for me.

Just bought some chips… wish I hadn’t now! They were cold, looked like they had been sitting there all morning and didn’t look or taste very nice.. Yuk! What a waste of £2.70! Won’t be going there again.

Good portions good fish and kebabs

I bought 1 spring roll 1 battered sausage witch is £4.20 . Then bought a can of monsters . Sub total £6.20 after driving away I noticed the monsters can stated £1.29 so should of been £5.49 watch out dont do the same mistake as I did

My first time in Laybourne Fisheries. Generally, cod was fresh and tasty. Chips also. Curry a bit too sweet for me, but that's personal preference. But one thing didn't make me impressed at all. Shop is very messy. Sticky floor, dirty counter, fridge with pops doesn't invite you to buy a drink. This place definitely need a deep cleaning and after that everyday cleaning procedure. I found a review from last year about it. Doesn't look like they cared at all. I think I won't come back until they starting to care. Dread to think what's in their food even if it's tasty

I have used them many times. Good, consistent Fish&Chips, good service and good parking. Best chippy in Birtley.

After recently moving to the area. I thought I'd try this local Chippy. Didn't wait long enough to even order! All the previous reviewers need to look down and not up at the menu board. I have never seen such ingrained dirt in any customer waiting area in my 50 years living. How is the place even allowed to serve food. Luckily there's plenty of choice a lot cleaner up the road.

Useally very good in fact brilliant but a new staff member is absolutely useless I asked for a large fish n chips as normal with my curry sauce got home to find a very small fish and what I can only describe as a child's portion of chips and they were mostly little sharp hard bits not proba chips yes you do get little bits but this was at least a third little bits not happy used this shop for over 6yrs and the owners are very nice, which brings me upto today disappointing visit and food the same staff are member served me my other favourite is a large portion of keebab and chips with garlic sauce again child like portion of cold dry chips and the portion of donner meat was Atleast half the size of my normal serving so by no means a large portion twice av been served by this new girl and twice av had bad experience, I will be speaking to the owner in the nxt few days but I very much doubt that I will be using them again

As a regular Friday night visitor, the food is always freshly cooked. There's a decent selection if you fancy more than Fish and Chips. You might have to wait for a little bit for a fresh batch, but it's worth the wait. Carpark is shared with an Indian Takeaway, so parking is sometimes tight. Park responsibly.
