Sambuca Cramlington in Northumberland

We were welcomed and served straight away, staff were knowledgeable of all the wines, so friendly and professional! Food came quickly and was delicious, great lunch time special offers.

Like being in a nightclub! Food and Service good, however music being played at nidicolous high levels meaning almost impossible to have a conversation.

The Carvery which they serve on Sunday was fabulous, it tasted great and wasn’t very expensive. It was a bit challenging walking back to our seats with the plates due to the low lights and the amount of steps as we got given the table at the back of the room. The staff seemed all over the place and stressed out. A few of them didn’t seem fluent in English. We kept having different staff serving us and we didn’t quite know what was going on and it was quite stressful for our family member with autism.

The food was nice, and cheap. The staff were lovely. However, the place was very dark, i meeded my phone torch to read menu. It was very loud and the music was also quite loud so difficult to hold a conversation. Having to sing happyb birthday every 10 minutes was cringy and annoying. Fair enough if that's what you want for an evening out but its not for us thanks

Excellent service and food. I came in with my 3 granddaughters who thoroughly enjoyed the pasta, pizza and rather large mixed ice-cream!! The staff were fantastic and could not do enough. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend. Thanks to all the staff.

this amazing restaurant had very high quality food and brilliant service. a lot of places that i have been out to with my friends have been very pushy with making us order but not this place and the staff were very kind and i would definitely recommend to go.

Warm welcome. Staff young and therefore inexperienced and it shows (if you’re a bit older). Few front of house / service details missed - not showstoppers - but they have a cumulative effect. But lots of smiles and that’s to their real credit. Me and my dining partner went for a shared calamaris starter. We should have known better. We’ve both feasted on succulent, soft and buttery squids all over the gaff, and these were the other kind. Hey-ho. Nicely presented and the mayo was enjoyable. I went for pizza bolognese and it was sloppy. Sliding all over the base like a slippery eel! Cor blimey! It was fine. Pal went for Hawaiian and I had a slice. Average. Two decent coffees to end on. We tipped. It’s pretty average food wise and whilst the music is too loud, I loved the 80s and 90s dance mixes. I really did. Would I return? I don’t know. It’s good value and the foods ok. Staff nice enough and impressed, but service needs refinement and that’s always a job for leaders. But a return would feel like a pit stop for food before the cinema rather than a destination.

God awful! Music so loud you can’t hear anyone speak - including the staff. Toilets absolutely filthy - used tissue all over the sinks. Staff rushed off their feet and unable to connect. No welcome at door - looks dirty. The food was quite nice - but the experience was proper awful. Special mention for some of the passive aggressive signage around

I have been to this restaurant several times and it has always been fantastic. Tonight’s visit was horrendous and I don’t think I’ll be back in a hurry. Normally the food and atmosphere are top notch; tonight, three out of 12 of my family’s meals were cold and the music? Far too loud, it was like being in a nightclub, no exaggeration! We had to shout at each other over the table it was that loud. We asked twice for the music to be turned down as one of our family members is autistic; both times it was turned back up again. I recommended this restaurant to my family and they were all disappointed, such a let down.

Family of 18 on Xmas eve, confirmed numbers when booking, week before and on the day, table set for 12! Rest of family sat 2 tables away. Waited 2hrs for main course. Music was horrendous couldn’t talk to each other it was so loud. Never again will I go here!

Can't fault much as typical sambuccas, fast effective service, good quality food and value for money. Recommended for family gathering and wjll always help if they can to accommodate all

Lovely place which is unusual for an urban area. Have to be honest, I was a bit dubious when the first server marched us to a searing area - however once my husband asked if there was another seat, another server took us to an ideal area. The service from there on in was 1st class. The food was lovely and altogether a good experience. A bottle of wine, starters, main course and coffees and all very reasonably priced. Good experience.

Dinner at Sambuccas last night – service was a bit slow and we had to wait for over 20 minutes for our order to be taken (and then remind them we also wanted drinks) Potato skins were great and both our pizzas delicious – still don’t understand the carrot on the vegetarian pizza. No desserts or coffee – bill was £28 and when I paid with 2 x £20 notes, I was asked if I wanted any change …… yes please!!

Food very tasty. Staff very pleasant. Service quick. Only downside was the noise (music, singer, people having to shout to be heard in conversation). Unable to talk.

Pre booked as there was 14 of us table wasn't ready on arrival family came from Scotland they were hungry 45minutes later we got our table food was beautiful disappointed as there was a singer on so.we could hardly here each other speak

Very good fillet steaks but evening ruined by ‘background music’ which wasn’t background and certainly wasn’t music! Drum and bass thumping away, nothing even vaguely musical about it. Won’t go to this Sambuca branch again, which is a shame as it is walking distance from home.

Picked up a takeaway on Sunday evening. Staff were really lovely, on the phone & when we called in to collect. Food was really good! We ordered Tagliatelle Chicken Alfredo, tagliatelle Amatriciana, cheesy garlic bread, chips & some garlic mayo. Portion sizes were decent too!

Best sunday carvery we been in here few times first time for carvery and so fare is the best around the area if you like nice carvery make sure you go early definitely we will be back

Had friends over from Portugal to celebrate their wedding anniversary . Had a surprise when the staff said there was entertainment on at 9pm. Turned out be a great night served by Rachel who sorted out a couple of minor issue’s with our order. Overall a thoroughly entertaining night. Good value and would certainly recommend a visit if you want to have more than a meal.

Staff running around bumping into each and customers got our order wrong came and went back wrong again didn’t say anything second time, asked for sauces and Parmesan’s didn’t come back, staff not listening to you, service really poor wasn’t finished my starter but took my plate whilst still eating I shouted over the loud music and noise but still took my plate, you don’t get time to breathe nobody asked if food was ok nobody asked if we wanted more drinks one staff member abit abrupt have been quite afew times, staff always wanting you to hurry so they can clear your table for you to leave, today was worse I won’t be back to this branch

Went for Late Sunday lunch, carvery was still being served at 3pm great I was hungry, wish I didn't bother really, very tough meat, gritty sandy roast potatoes, cold Yorkshire pudding and lumpy gravy , and bitter mint sauce to accompany my meal, what a disappointment, other family members had pizza and pasta with no problems , wouldn't recommend the carvery, shame as like this place.

We have been into Sambucas today for a meal, our server was a young woman called Chelsea she was extremely polite and went above and beyond for us, amazing work Chelsea - I’m sure we’ll see you again soon!!

Superb night. Catered for a large party, food was well priced and brought out with plenty of time between courses. Service was excellent. What really made the night was letting my daughters (who love Irish dancing) have a dance and they put more irish music on and joined in. Great atmosphere, will be back when in the area next.
