Sambal Express in Kingston upon Thames

First visit Mutton rolls. Fish cutlets. Seeni sambal Coconut sambal wattilapung. All Just perfect. We travelled up from Horsham inwest sussex a long queue of sri lankans outside shop gave us a clear indication that this was a popular place for Ceylon food (Sri Lankan) I'm old school and upon entering the premises was greeted with the amazing smells that I grew up with in 1960s Ceylon. All the dishes from my childhood. OMG ! I WAS IN HEAVEN..now a firm favourite on my shopping list. Brilliant, my English wife just loved the many dishes on display and the smiling friendly faces of the staff.. Thank you

Had a poor first visit in 2020 but of late, have had some great takeaways and short eats. There do seem to be 2 or 3 different ways with flavours in terms of Sri Lankan food and some dishes align with my preferences and others not . Perhaps could come up with a more customer friendly way of guessing how much food you are going to get if ordering a curry?

Sambal is a very good place to go if you're looking for Indian Spicy food or snacks. They also sell a range of sweet drinks and snacks as well, if you're grabbing a quick bite to eat.

After around about 10-12 weeks my favourite take away has now reopened. I have missed it so much along with lots and lots of other loyal customers. They have fitted extremely good screens to shield the staff and customers they are really effective and actually look great. The food and service as ever is great. So glad to have you back. Good luck with the future. I am sure that everything will eventually be as near to normal as we can expect. Your business will be back to its normal numbers in no time. The Jaffna style Kool (soup) - I bought recently and found is watery and more bone than fish pieces.. There were 5 sharp fish bones one was a cM long Could have end up at AE! careless how they care about their customers

This takeaway produces some excellent food and to be recommended for that. ( hence 2*) However, placing an order may mean you have to wait 40 mins whilst it is being cooked, despite having ordered it days before for a given time. There are not enough staff ( who don’t look happy) serving in the shop, and so beware of getting a parking ticket from the zealous parking wardens waiting to pounce. It is also a pity that it always seems that they have run out of what you ordered , but have something more expensive that could do in its place! Such a pity

Easy to miss from outside view but a culinary delight for lovers of spicy sri lankan delights. The display cabinet was so tempting and the lamb samosas and mutton rolls are a must for carnivores. Various varuvals and tantalusing sweet treats too.

Ok. But could be better. Over priced for what it is. Would have expected more from this type of food outlet.

Really excellent quality at an exceptional price for take away. Free parking out side for an hour however make sure you enter your reg number in machine to get free ticket to display in window. Very popular with Sri Lankan community.

Ordered some short-eats: Rolls, wadai, and roti. Quick service and good value. All the food was microwaved.

This is a take away not a sit down restaurant. They offer a range of South Indian/Sri Lankan prepared meals and snacks. We tried some of the snacks items, they were all tasty, spicy and reasonably priced. The shop was busy with a constant stream of people who seemed to be regulars. Worth a visit if you're looking for something different.

Lo tienes todo en forma de comida para llevar, de arroz frito, fideos fritos, Dosa, rottis kothu wattilappan, dulces de India y de corta come! Personal experimentado que hacerlo todo en un santiamén y no tener que esperar mucho tiempo para nada! También beber bebidas de coco y Sri Lanka falooda! Es un hogar lejos del hogar para Sri y un buen cambio para cualquiera looing para degustar una comida para llevar picante! Siempre termino comprando unos todo cuando en casa ya que es sabrosa comida disponible para sustituir los días ajetreados!

Lovely and quick if in the mood for something spicy. Everything is pre-prepped which is makes making a choice easier and quicker. Lovely spicy food with a real taste for South Indian cuisine and spice. Also have sweet dishes and deserts available.

I came after a recommendation from a friend this curry is better than most local restaurants, the price is good value for money and authentic food.

Have been going here since they opened, based purely on the queues stretching out of the shop. Always great food and incredibly reasonable.

The food is here is great and never disappoints, great value for money! The majority of the servers are efficient and friendly, but a couple of times I've been here and been served rudely, been interrupted by their personal conversations between each other and ignored. It's during these visits I think the food is simply not worth it and walked out. Other than that I've had pleasant experiences.

Have been many a time since it opened, I think it's now a chain similar to Chennai Dosai which incidentally have opened up across the road, CD is a restaurent, Sambal Express is a takeaway.

A wide selection of food, some a little oily for my liking. Expensive in comparison with other places though.

This Sri Lankan take away place looks neat and clean. In general the food is tasty. But be careful of the food quality. We have had 3 cases of food poisoning in my family. When I complained, I was told all the food are made freshly every day. I have herd otherwise by other member of staff.

This is a very good place to get some tasty Srilankan dishes. Food is freshly cooked and is displayed very well; the place looks very clean. Food is generally spicy. Very helpful staff.
