Simply the best Indian curry anywhere and I’ve been to best around West Yorkshire

Great food great service been coming here for 9 years best curry I've ever had… no where around here beats it. Owners are lovely make you feel very welcome. Boshhh

Myself and my husband go to Sammies every Friday night to start the weekend! The food, the lovely service and the all round welcome that we recieve is second to none. Week in, week out the food is excellent and at an incredibly reasonable price - we really wouldn't want to be anywhere else at the end of the week! Melody

Yet another perfect meal at Sammy's! Could not fault the food at all, fresh, hot, full of flavour, well presented and great portion sizes! Excellent value for the price and in a lovely, clean, welcoming restaurant. The staff are always friendly and helpful and even when it's busy, there's rarely a long wait. Would 100% recommend!

Went with some friends on a Friday night and was very busy. Asked for food to be spicy as we love it hot and it was perfect, I highly recommend it. We’ll be back soon.

We have been coming to this establishment for over 30 years we are here at least once a week the staff are all friendly and attentive. The food is excellent. Never had a bad experience.

Mr. Shabbir's restaurant has some good Pakistani Indian cuisines. Food portions were big and quality was decent, dont expect much and you wont be disappointed; meal for two will cost 20-40. Will definitely visit again

Don't expect too much and you'll have a great time. The food is good, not outstanding, but that is represented in the price, plus you can take your own drinks so it keeps the cost down. Not the first time we've been and we will be back again.

Best curry house in The Heavy Woolen District and has been for decades. Been eating here occasionally since the 1990's. Samarkand is the real deal, would recommend. 👍

I was absolutely blown away by the incredible garlic naan, it was hands down the most delicious I've ever tasted. The chicken tikka masala was simply divine, it was so good that it could make anyone's taste buds sing. The service provided by the lads was top-notch, they truly went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. Without a doubt, I will definitely be returning for more of this amazing food.

The best curry we've had in ages.

went on saturday 4 of us not impressed curry was watery and very salty and felt like it was warmed up in microwave .my friends curry watery and no flavour .we asked for somthing to wipe our hands after no Hand or warm face cloth no after dinner mint :( years ago sammys was good but gone Down Hill not going again 🥲🥲

Went with friends, we were treated like family. The service and the food were fantastic and can't be faulted.

My family & I love this restaurant, the food is spot on and as a family that holiday in India we know a thing or two about curry’s. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. It does not have a beer license but that is OK as you can take your own alcoholic beverages

The menu rarely changes, which is fine, cos the dishes available are always spot on

Wow! Massively overrated, I am actually quite shocked at how poor quality both our curries were from such a place that's been there for years and has such a loyal following, im not sure if any of them have tried curries from other places in Heckmondwike but it's not hard to find a better one. The meat in curry was so tough it had to be cut into small pieces to be chewed, and I'm not a pensioner! The only plus side was the chicken was quite nice in my wife. Both were very untradtional in flavour and consistency and swimming in water when put on plates to eat. Given 2 stars instead of one because it did come quickly, but won't order here again, also quite expensive for what it is.

Ordered for the first time on Saturday, I was blown away by the quality of the food. The delivery was received within 30 mins ordering (via UberEats.) Firstly, I received free poppadoms with my order, unsure if this is common practice but combined with the dips it was a great starter. Pilau rice and chicken korma was sublime, the portions or not massive but they’re definitely big enough and filled me up. For a chicken korma it was perfectly seasoned with spices, the sauce was thick, the perfect texture. This place is definitely going to be my go to Indian, thank you so much for a great experience!

Really enjoyable meal had the chicken and lamb tandoori mixed starter really tender and cooked to perfection. The chicken roganjosh was also very flavourful and cooked perfect with just enough spice. My other half agreed that the food was really flavourful and also cooked perfect. We really enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back

Sammy's is just Sammy's. Always consistent, always excellent. You know it's goid when it's full at 6.30 on a Saturday night. Full of families, groups and couples. In all the years I have been going here, I've never left the place disappointed. If yiuve not been before, give it a go. You'll not need to be persuaded twice.

Not the largest selection I've seen, but that turned out to be a good thing as what they do is done very well indeed. Sad to see it almost empty in a weeknight. A little gem.

Been coming to Sammys for over 25 years. There is Always a warm welcome, fine food and good relaxed atmosphere. You can still bring your own booze and the hosts are always nearby to make sure all goes well. Still one of the best currys I've eaten.
