Salvi’s Mozzarella in Manchester

Not the best Italian I've ever had, but the food was good.

The food was nice, and we where thinking about coming again, however.... Not being told about the service charge is not a nice practice to do. We were going to give a tip bigger than the service charge itself, but just putting it on the bill without making us aware first meant we didnt tip and left disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful Bruschetta and Arancini, fast friendly service, would come again.

Amazing food and drinks, all staff were lovely especially Guisuppe! Definitely recommend the pasta ragu!

Manchester's best Italian restaurant for pizza and carbonara pasta

No hay duda de que este es un gran lugar para tomar el fabuloso sol de abril. Se encuentra entre un pequeño grupo de restaurantes / bares fuera de Corn Exchange. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y nos sentamos, solo tuvimos una bebida, que era fría y muy bienvenido en un miércoles por la tarde abrasador.

We had lovely drinks at the bar as the table was being made ready, wife had a stunning red wine recommended by the barman and it really was good. Tables are perfect size and we sat near the open style kitchen. Thel starters were lovely and so fresh and lots of it. Mains carried in the theme of fresh , tasty and lots of it. Desserts of ice cream and tiramisu to round off a great meal. Staff were knowledgeable friendly and full on smiles.

Ran out of pizza dough on a Saturday night! Ruined a Manchester marathon runners night! Staff inattentive - 5x to ask for tap water - came in plastic wine glasses!

My partner and I visited Salvi's for dinner. Service was excellent and prompt, and the food was delicious! There was a lovely ambience, being tucked away downstairs with cosy lighting. We will be back as soon as we can!

Great pasta! Visit everytime I’m in Manchester. Perfectly al dente and great flavours. My recommendation would be the Pasta Nonna Teresa. Reasonably priced for the quality

Salvi’s is one of our favorite spots in Manchester. As someone who often travels to Italy, being at Salvi’s always feels like a little trip back — from the authentic atmosphere and friendly staff to the incredible food. The team was so welcoming and accommodating. I can’t wait to return soon!

We enjoyed a nice meal here for Valentine's Day. The food was great, with a sumptuous starter, lovely al dente pasta, and tasty desserts. The only issue was the service. The waiter was lovely, but he was rushed off his feet due to a lack of staff. Hence, we had to call him over a few times. The other thing to note is that the cocktails are smaller than I expected, so the Old-fashioned wasn't as good value as I thought from the menu.

Went here recently for Valentines day and was served by a gentlemen called Luigi. He gave ridiculously good service and was extremely welcoming in all aspects of recommending the food, general chat and just made the whole experience great. Will definitely be returning.

We were a group of 6 girls without a reservation and they were able to give us a table. We were treated very well from the beginning, we were greeted by a young blonde girl and we were also served by a waiter named Giuseppe. Very good food

I’ve walked past here manyyyy times but didn’t think i’d be able to really eat anything since i’m gluten-free. was genuinely over the moon to find they can substitute the pasta on most dishes. My partner recently started working in Manchester and it’s not somewhere we’d normally go. Till Salvi’s. What started out as him bringing home meats and a cheeky cannoli has turned into a monthly visit once we realised they also did food. We find ourselves craving their pizza and will hop on the train the travel 67 minutes just for it. It is also the best tiramisu I’ve ever eaten! The staff and wonderful, cheery and very helpful. The fact you can see the food being made and see each chef taking immense pride in each dish is a joy to see. The semi low lighting and music creates an intimate atmosphere. We really do love this place. Again thank you to the Staff and Chefs for this little slice of heaven in a busy city centre! 😁❤️

Tuvimos un almuerzo fabuloso allí con amigos en enero. Había reservado en línea y pude utilizar el 40% de descuento en la oferta de enero. Nos dieron la mesa redonda privada hacia la parte trasera del restaurante, que era perfecto para la privacidad y la socialización. Nuestro camarero era Luigi y fue fantástico durante toda nuestra visita, amable y eficiente. Nos encantó su recomendación de pasta nonna Teresa, y todas nuestras otras comidas (calamares, bruschetta, carbonara, pasta ragu, ravioles especiales) eran grandes porciones y delicioso. Recomiendo encarecidamente y me encanta el nuevo stand asientos también, volveremos pronto.

My daughter and I came in hoping to get a table and luckily they managed to get a table for us. We were served by a very friendly, helpful welcoming young man called Luigi, who really appreciated the fact that we were attempting to speak Italian, nothing was too much trouble for him and he made the whole experience a very pleasant one, he is definitely an asset to the restaurant and this place is one of only 2 genuinely authentic Italian restaurant/trattoria in Manchester city centre in my opinion. This message is for Luigi Grazie mille per tutte, sei molto gentile.

I love Salvi's rustic Italian Food and I have eaten there several times, I will eat there again, hopefully soon. I ate there on a quiet lunchtime in January with two others. The food was as good as always and Luigi provided with us with 5 star service with a smile, good cheer and good banter. Great waiters are in short supply, so we got lucky.

7 of us were seated at the lovely round private table, had a variety of meals including bruschetta, calamari, ragu, all delicious. Service from Luigi was fantastic, so friendly & attentive & we loved his recommendation of the pasta nonna Theresa. We’ll be back!

Best place to eat in the UK! I’m not exaggerating—this is truly a hidden gem. After living in the UK for a while, I was skeptical about the food scene here. But this place completely restored my faith in the country’s ability to deliver amazing flavors. The staff were incredible; our server was a native Italian speaker, and I learned that some of the chefs are Italian too, which probably explains the authenticity and attention to detail in every dish. The pasta with pistachio sauce was delicious, the fantasia pizza was even better, and the tiramisu—wow! It was so good it practically knocked me off my chair. If you’re debating whether to try this place, just go. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Used to be great here but we hadn't been for a couple of years. On returning its been refurbished but doesn't seem as homely, the food is still good but the service was let down by the strange camp waiter who can't understand English and got several of our orders wrong, no parmersan with the food offered or 2nd drinks offered after the food arrived. Not what it used to be

we came here for my partners birthday for the first time and it was so lovely, such a nice atmosphere, the food and drink was so amazing - the waiter Luigi was excellent, nothing was a problem and he was such a fun guy! a girl serving our drinks i didn’t catch her name but she was lovely too! all the staff were - it’s a beautiful place i would highly recommend ;)

We were seated very quickly and the staff was very pleasant. We were served by Luigi who was a very charming young man. His Italian accent was excellent and would highly recommend asking for him. The food was amazing , we had pizzas, which were huge by the way! and the staff were very accommodating in replacing the toppings. True Italian experience. Thoroughly recommend.

We went to this cafe for a nice coffee . But I was very disappointed with the service. We sat down so we could relax and enjoy our coffee but they gave us coffee in take away cups. While they were serving others in the normal cups. Coffee was very average but very expensive. We also ordered hot chocolate for my son. And got it in the smallest takeaway cup with literally 2 sips of drink in it. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic little Italian restaurant just outside the Corn Exchange. Haven't been for a couple of years but the food was just as good as ever. Mixed platter for starter and a variety of pizzas and pastas kept everyone happy. Great food, good value for money and Luigi the waiter looked after us very well

He ido un par de veces pero desafortunadamente no volveré a ir. Se han reformado y ahora no tienen un espacio seguro para las mujeres que quieren usar un solo inodoro femenino. Fue bastante intimidante entrar en los baños nuevos y tener que compartir con los hombres. Debería haberse señalado que no solo tienen espacios femeninos. Las mujeres solo necesitan espacios femeninos por varias razones y si un establecimiento no puede ofrecer eso, entonces no volveré a visitarlo.

I have been there loads of times and I was always happy with the food and the spectacular service, especially from Lorenzo and Ezio. They make you feel at home every time! Also whenever I have food there I always love it, and I can tell it's an authentic neapolitan cuisine.

One of my favourite restaurants in Manchester. The food tastes amazing and brings back the Italian nostalgia. A little bit of Italy that was missing in Manchester.

Really disappointed by our visit here on Sunday. I had had this place recommended by a family member and so I was really looking forward to it. Sadly the food is overpriced for standard Italian food and quite small portions for what you are paying. Between us for two starters, one pasta main, two coffees and half a lager we paid £55. I was a little shocked that the burrata starter with tomatoes is actually with one lone tomato, sliced into quarters. Perhaps they were running out. I don’t like plates filled with rocket to try and make it look like there is more on the plate than there is. The food we had tasted good but not special for the cost. It was overly warm in there which was uncomfortable and the toilets were unloved and not well cleaned, they need a good clean in the corners and the toilet roll holders refilling properly not just odd loo rolls dotted about. It’s a shame as I had high hopes, but I won’t be able to recommend this to others and won’t visit again. I assume they may be struggling to make ends meet and so are scrimping on the food and hiking up the prices. A very sad 3.5 out of 5

Disappointing. I was so looking forward to real italian well cooked food but it just didn't meet expectations. As someone who comes from Southern italian roots I know I could have done better. The ingredients tasted fresh and good quality but the seasoning and intensity of flavour were missing. £65 for 2 plates of bland pasta, a bit of bread and undressed salad. On a good note the house red was very good and service okay.

I’ve been here twice in the last week. Got sat a table outside both times and then left for over 15 minutes both times. I would u destined if they were busy but they only had a couple of tables in. One day I will get to try the famous Salvis.

To start, I have been salvis many times before having the same food and came today as a treat as we really loved it on our previous visits however we have left very disappointed. Today's food was quite something else, we both had the octopus and nduja pasta and i honestly could've made better myself with ingredients from aldi as the quality was shocking. The octopus although albeit usually a little chewy was dry and tasteless. I've had this dish every time I've been before and it was nothing alike what I have usually had. If you had gave me this and asked me where it was from I wouldn't have even said it was from the same resturant. For £17.50 hardly had any pasta, and the pasta used is not what was the same in the past, usually it is large tubes (old picture no 3 attached.) The sauce tasted like tinned tomatoes i wouldn't even say there was salt or pepper on it, there was no nduja present at all or any taste for that matter. The tomatoes that I could see in it weren't cooked. I must say the starter was fine taste wise however for £30 was a rip off. I looked at others pictures of this and can see bread included but we had nothing of the sort. The service again was not great, although the staff were polite when taking our order. We had water glasses on the table with no water offered, with the starter no side plates were brought and no parmasan offered with the mains. I wouldn't recommend, not sure how they stay open and charge the prices they do as it was extremely poor. I get the impression they are trying to cut corners and costs whilst charging the same. I am so gutted as we were looking forward to this for weeks!

Era el cumpleaños de mi hija y lo mencionamos en la solicitud de reserva, y el del equipo sacó una rebanada de pastel con una vela para ella, que redondeó una comida muy agradable. La falta de luz natural en el restaurante de abajo es un poco de pena, pero tienen un buen ajuste.

Tonight was absolutely fabulous! I’ve known Lorenzo for a long time, but seeing him in action as a chef was a delightful surprise. The freshness of the seafood was exceptional, and it truly felt like a taste of home in Italy. Every dish was a testament to his skill and passion, making the entire experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy authentic, top-quality Italian cuisine!

If you like Buffalo Mozzarella this is your destination. I love this restaurant and the fact it has a shop too!

La comida aquí es absolutamente de primera clase. Recetas auténticamente italianas con auténticos ingredientes italianos cocinados por un auténtico chef italiano. Si quieres auténtico italiano no busques en otro lugar.

We had a lovely meal in Salvi's this evening. It was lovely to walk downstairs into a very cosy restaurant space where the food was prepared fresh in their own giant wood fired oven. My wife was glad she opted to share the Focacia starter as it was enormous!! She throughly enjoyed her Puttanesca and I was delighted with my Pancetta and Pistachio Pesto Pasta. Perhaps the only thing better than the food was the service. Well done to all on a wet Wednesday evening. I can only say I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Went to purchase mortadella and other meats from the deli. The two Italian men working there spent 2 minutes mocking me in Italian. I managed to pick up most of it as speak reasonable Italian. Last time I go there as it’s has been consistently rude / arrogant staff that clearly don’t like non-Italians. Looking at the reviews this is a common theme. If you are thinking of using the deli, I’d order online with a reputable importer. Don’t give these xenophobic company your hard earned cash

Avoid! It’s like a sauna, needs much better (if any) air conditioning which put me right off my food. To make that worse, no ice was given with tepid bottled water. Wrong drinks given twice. Bad customer service. Staff surly when bespoke request. ‘No we can’t do that.’ No apology given. I thought they were joking at first. It annoyed me which also put me off my food. Won’t be going back.

Recently refurbished but Salvi’s was deserted. My partner and I had a pizza which was very average. My son had carbonara which he said was very good. Disappointed.
