Saltshouse Tavern in Kingston upon Hull, City of

Popped into salthouse for some lunch today and was really impressed. I ordered steak and it was really soft and nice. My daughter ordered a full English and everything on her plate was cooked to perfection. I dont usually rate oub food but it was really nice. The chef Alice came over afterwards and was so lovely when I complimented her on the meals. We stayed awhile and me and my partner had a drink, his phone was nearly dead and the bar staff Robbie and Maria was lovely and got him a charger. Was a really welcoming and nice atmosphere while the football was on. Will definitely be returning again!

Great to pop in after years of absence, very busy pub after a local rugby league derby, toilets still a disgrace though!

Been served by the lovely young lady Robbie tonight, excellent service as always. Lovely pub, brilliant staff and always have cracking bands. Love this pub.

Spent the evening in Salthouse and was served by Robbie, who was very friendly & provided us with a great service all night.

Went in for a few drinks atmosphere was great the staff were lovely especially a girl called Robbie she was very friendly polite and very good at her job don't really go out in pubs much but I'd definitely go back to salthouse tavern again

I visited for a meal the food was lovely. Nice atmosphere. And lovely bar staff especially Robbie. She was very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough to help definitely service with a smile 😊.

I visit The Saltshouse regularly and I'm always greeted with a smile by the excellent bar staff, in particular the young lady Robbie. Always made to feel welcome, brilliant pub!

Always had a nice time at this place, being my local I've been a fair few times and the standard of food and drink is always good. Bar service is great too.

The pub is quite spacious and can accommodate a large crowd, although there aren't many drink options that suit my taste. However, my experience wasn't too bad, and I even had a couple of enjoyable conversations with the regular customers.

I've been a regular of this pub since the 80's when it opened. I went in tonight to order chicken wings and a club sandwich, an hour later I spoke to the bar staff and was told the order hadnt been started due to just eat type orders taking priority, I got a refund. I do not blame the staff as they were great BUT if the management prioritise external orders above people who visit the pub and order drinks and want some thing to eat then they are on a slippery slope. Is the Saltshouse Tavern a Pub that offers food or a food out let. I am not happy. I have noticed for weeks this happening and was told just eat type orders take precedence, I will stop ordering food from today and reduce the times I visit.

Came to Saltshouse last night great atmosphere great band and the staff was lovely!

Went in at 3.45 for drinks & dinner, ordered food at 4.55 at 5.30 was informed by bar staff there was delay as orders for "delivery outlets " take priority! At 6pm went to ask how much longer only to be told our food order hadn't even been started yet & probably another 45 /60 minutes! Requested refund to go elsewhere which we received. Think need to decide if its pub serving food to customer's who go in for food & drinks or just a take away for food ! Patrons seem to be taking a back step to the delivery outlets! Very disappointed as we frequent here quite a lot for meals & drinks but loyal customers treated shabbily! Not blaming the staff they are very apologetic & try their best to help with the situation can see Saltshouse losing customers due t this@

Service was great the bar staff were very welcoming and very approachable, The atmosphere has definitely picked up recently which made it an easy decision to stay there all night rather than moving on to another pub, it feels like my local again!

We went to the Saltshouse Tavern Kids Christmas Party on Sunday 10th December and what a great time the kids had. The Grinch was very good, there was sweets and food for the kids and a great disco. It was well organised, well done to the Saltshouse staff.

New to the area we thought we would give the Saltshouse a try and we love it, now i am pleased to call it our local!! We took our kids to the Grinch Christmas party they loved it, the bands they have on a Saturday night are great and the friendly staff have always made us feel welcome!!!

The saltshouse tavern on the corner of Dunvegan Road is a nice two room local pub, pool table and darts in the back room. Usually having three real ales on hand pumps. Quite an extensive food menu, I've never been disappointed when I eat here. Often have live music at a weekend. I have seen some good live bands here. A few TV screens showing live sport. Outside seating area to the front is a bit of a sun trap and very popular on nice days. Large car park to rear. Now dog friendly in the bar.

Been loads my 2 kids favourite pub to go for food. Food is amazing best out there if you ask my 2 who are 11 and 6 where they want to go they say Salthouse the staff are fantastic.

Service was appalling and bar staff shouted at me because I had to wait an hour for a drink

Salthouse Tavern is my local. It's great for drinks and food. The staff are friendly and welcoming, particularly Maureen and Craig. I don't often get chance to go on an evening but when I do it's lively and a great night. At a weekend there is often a DJ or a band.

Great local pub, friendly atmosphere, well trained staff along with a very good pint and exceptional food for the price. The pub is clean and feels very well run a credit to the manager.

What a fantastic pub. Great food and service. One of our party had an allergy and Craig couldn't have been more helpful, ensuring they chose the right meal and that it was prepared safely. I had the BBQ Mac Burger - it came out piping hot and tasted delicious. Drinks were ice cold and served quickly by Craig. Fantastic atmosphere and an all round brilliant experience.

The sharing plates were incredible and great value. What a lovely pub fantastic food and staff what more do you want.

It’s been a while since I last visited but nonetheless was just as good as I remembered… Met up friends for a meal and enjoyed every minute, the food was spot on and the staff and whole ambience was great. Hopefully won’t be as long until my next visit

Visited on the off chance as I was passing … was greeted by Craig who promptly served Us a brill pint or two of dark fruits … opted to stay for some food … I ordered the chicken katsu burger and my partner plumped for the ultimate chicken tikka …. Didn’t take long to arrive and was happy with the food … overall good service at reasonable prices

Poor meal very chewy burnt steak, one of them wasn't eatable and the bread and butter we paid for didn't turn up. We told the waitress who said she'd inform the kitchen but she came back to the table for the condiments and didn't speak again. Very pricey and the had poster's everywhere saying deals on drinks all night, when asked the staff about it they asked on what? I ask about bottle they said no when asked on cider it was a no so didn't know what drinks had the offers

Advertised as "loads of drinks offers on all night" and live music from 8 No offers to speek of And seamed offended that we asked about them after the first pint was £4.65 and the live music didn't start till 9:20 as we where leaving after giving up went Saturday, when we did eventually find a table that had a drinks menu only ~30% of the drinks actually had prices listed

Pukka place, had 3 little share plates all absolutely bangin, I recommend Chicken Katsu curry and chips, fantastic, definitely be going again 😊👍🏻

Went down to salt house with my partner and some lovely food! The sharing plank what I had was lovely and the other half loved her cauliflower wings as well as two lovely pints!! Would highly recommend :)

Decent pub with big screens good for watching the sport. The pool table and dart board is in great condition with plenty of open space around them. What let's this place down is the lagers on tap... mostly sub standard <4% stuff imo and hardly any continental premiums apart from bottles.

Popped in today for lunch with my son. Greeted at the bar by a lovely lady called Mo.. Swift and polite service. Ordered a cheese burger and drinks, the food was excellent and even complimented the cook, Sharon, as we were quickly served and the food was lovely. Craig the manager was out and about sorting the change of menus and was polite, introducing himself and engaging in nice conversation. All in all a good experience and would definitely recommend and return 😊👍.

A quality local-pub with sensational staff, enjoyable entertainment and well-priced tasty food. The atmosphere is always friendly; George, Courtney, Keira and Robbie really make the Saltshouse a warm and welcoming place to spend your free time. George's Tuesday quiz is growing week-on-week and he puts so much effort into making it challenging but also fun. The karaoke is the weekly highlight with great participation. The Saltshouse is a local community pub for everyone, and its a real pleasure to visit.

Definitely recommend this pub. The bar staff are the best in the business. Always pleasant have a chat and make you feel welcome. Big shout out to George for doing the quiz and being a great barman.
