A beautiful pub with a great atmosphere. The service we received from AJ at the bar is what took our experience from a nice pub trip to a warm and comforting experience. We were treated like old friends and made to feel truly at home. Wonderful service.

Just thought I’d pop in for a quick drink whilst in the area and was lucky to have been treated so well. The staff were quick and kind, making it a very comfortable experience. I was looked after by a guy called James, not sure if he was the manager, but if so, the place is in very safe hands. He was charming and lovely to chat to, something which is rare these days. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area, genuinely really recommend this place.

Beautiful view and staff are always friendly and welcoming. On this occasion, Jess was very helpful and chatty.

Went for the first time last Friday and had such a good time. Especially AJ, the waiter, was so nice and funny. He really welcomed us and cracked some jokes while we were having our little lunch. Overall great time.

The place and the vibe here is amazing as it is just beside the river Thames which makes a perfect spot for outdoor drinking sesh. Paolo here is awesome ! He took great care of us and is always smiling and full of great energy. Thank you Paolo !

Really beautiful pub and well worth a visit. Very cosy and perfect for warming up with a drink looking out at the lovely view of the river. I had a quiet drink here with friends whilst passing and was served by Marta and James, both were very friendly and kind and very knowledgeable about the drinks on offer. The Christmas decorations were amazing and it was all very festive. I look forward to returning in the summer to see what it’s like then!

Have come here many times as it is local for a elderly family member and as many people have said, it is a great spot in the summer if you want to sit outside and enjoy the view. However I have never been impressed by the food quality especially for the price. Every time something is undercooked, cold or some other kind of issue. I came here just before Christmas and had a sort of turkey roast which consisted of some kind of sliced turkey sandwich filling type meat, rubbery “roast potatos” that was definitely just out of a bag and reheated and looked more like chips and undercooked veg. Without a doubt the worst pub roast I have ever had in my life. The server came over multiple times while we was eating to try and take our plates like they was trying to rush us out while the rest of the pub wasn’t even busy. I think we might have been the only ones actually eating at the time and plenty of other tables available. I eventually had to say if it’s okay we will move our plates to the end of the table once we have finished so then you will know we are done. Definitely the last time I waste money on food in this pub as defo wasn’t the Christmas experience we had hoped for.

Went Xmas eve. Staff friendly and attentive. Family atmosphere and excellent cocktails.

It was bloody freezing 🥶 and really noisy, people actually came in while we were there and got up to leave after seeing the menu. Fish overcooked but chips good...for the portion size we could have gone to a weatherspoons for cheaper..

Love the pub itself with location. Whilst we were there we were told to get our drinks ourselves as "there's no service charge and we are understaffed" which is fine but it was said multiple times quite rudely. 3 of 9 of us didn't have our food until 45-60mins after everyone else despite being on the same tab and had to chase up, only to find 3 dishes were forgotten about (we used the QR code). When we did get the dishes...the sides were laughable (just see my photo with the onion rings served). It was not a great experience and we spent way too much on it (80 for 3 people).

Great pub ! A lovely location on the Thames. I was there with my wife yesterday and we ordered two delicious steak pies. The guy, Paolo, who served us at the bar and at the table, was very welcoming and nice. Such a great service!

Sunday roast here is very nice and a reasonable price

The pub is located directly on the Thames and guests have a wonderful view of the river and city, especially from the spacious terrace. However, the taste of the food is not convincing.

disgrace with the parking . £170 fine for parking there even though i showed receipt for my 34 min stay with stay . won't ever visit again . Was eventually resolved by a helpful member of staff at the restaurant. emailed my receipt to the staff and they got the ticket cancelled.

We were walking the Thames Path when we came across this place. A lovely big pub with lots of seating inside and seating outside overlooking the Thames. Staff were friendly and efficient and the place was clean and had a good atmosphere with music playing in the background. We didn't stop for food but the menu looked reasonably priced and a good selection.

Bad food service. Avoid this place. I ordered one chicken burger with chips on the side. The pub was nearly empty and no other persons eating. It took them nearly one hour to deliver.

In the evening we visited the St. Quay pub in front of our youth hostel - and what a difference! The pub is picturesquely situated overlooking the water and offers a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable: in contrast to the youth hostel (16.50 pounds for a meal), you get high-quality, homemade and plentiful food here. I tried the award-winning "Steak & Ale Pie" (£14.95): the dough was crispy, the long-braised beef in a thick, spicy sauce with a slight hint of beer was delicious. The mashed potatoes and pea puree were also flavorful, although a little too thick for my taste. Mr P's fish and chips were also excellent, with homemade chips (£16.50). Our students chose almost all of the burgers, which were also fairly priced at £14.75 and tasted very good. The service was attentive and friendly, and the waiter's praise for our students' politeness was particularly nice. Conclusion: The “St. Quay” is highly recommended – great location, delicious food and very good vegan options. 5 out of 5 steak pies!

Used to be a regular visitor. Now much less frequent. A decent pub though with lots of space

Ordered some finger food, very small portions, 5 pieces of squid , and was supposed to be crispy but was soggy. Onions rings 5 per portion they were nice but half the portion than before, but now, for more money, glass had all lipstick. When I spoke to staff, i was told they have new kitchen staff and she will have a word. Thats it. But a lovely but expensive pub.

Located on the water. Nice views. Cold beverages, great food! Good neighborhood, located on the Thames Trail-Jubilee Greenway so there are lots of people walking, running. Fish and chips were excellent as well as the sausages with mustard and honey!

disappointing experience. Eating cold and almost inedible on a Thursday afternoon. Mac & cheese for £12 but hardly macaroni and has more of the consistency of porridge. In terms of atmosphere, the store doesn't score points with an unpleasant smell of urine throughout the building. The service was extremely unfriendly and they didn't even ask for drinks. Instead, as a paying customer you can tap your own tap water. incredibly poor loading, not recommended.

Shannon and her team catered for my good friends wake. Joanne would have enjoyed it herself. Thanks all of the team at Old Salt Quay for taking very good care of us all. Highly recommended this venue for a wake as so very caring and accomodating.

Food always takes ages to arrive, but they have nice portions and they’re well seasoned. Think it’s a little bit expensive for pub food but the views of the river make up for it.

Want to start this by saying I’ve enjoyed coming here every so often over the past few years and like to use this as a meet-up spot. Food/drinks always nice. Today was unfortunately let down due to one of the staff having an attitude problem. Me and my girlfriend wanted to come for food as we like their katsu burger. We arrived at 8 after travelling about an hour and was told by a girl behind the bar that the kitchen is closed (despite the fact the website says the kitchen was open till 9). However despite being disappointed we understand that these things happen and said that’s fine but the website says it’s open till 9. she then in a sarky way “I can’t do anything the kitchen is closed” we then said “we get that we have no problem with you we’re just saying it says it’s open till 9 online” she then proceeds to say “it’s Greene King corporate what do you want me to do tell the kitchen staff to stay another hour?” Completely unprofessional response and uncalled for. Despite our inconvenience we just pointed out the issue and this woman (who is clearly in the wrong profession if she acts this way) just shut us down with no regard for the inconvenience. Always loved this place but our experience today left a sour taste in my mouth. She needs to massively up her customer service as that’s just piss poor. Hopefully next times better Not only is the customer service poor they can’t even take the time to read their reviews properly and give a decent response. Instead all you get is some automated answer that they reuse again and again. How can you strive towards top notch service if you don’t even read the feedback you’re given?

Having such a great location and and having greene king as a backer. You can't go wrong really. Unless you ordered the food. It looked sad and tired and I had to resist the urge to chuck it in old father thames .

Best for its views and outdoor terrace, with lots of tables and chairs outside. It was a Wednesday night. There was a massive queue at the bar and it is likely they are short staffed. The line moved quickly though. Also, you'll find free tap water which you can help yourself to after ordering. The fries were OK. They have a big range on their menu. The music is pretty loud so it depends if you like that sort of thing. It's an easy 10 minutes walk from Rotherhithe station. We've tried a few pubs in the area over the summer, and on a hot day when you want to sit outside and there's quite a large group, this is a good option.
