The salt and pepper sui mai was brilliant would recommend. Spetial fried rice is absolutely amazing would have for sran again 😋. The owners are very friendly and talkative. My dad goes so much that they know his number and call him by name wen he calls 😅😂

Another fab evening. Food better than home cooked and we’re Chinese. Sweet and sour pork big portion with big chunky pork nuggets. Chilli beef went down nicely too with crispy spring rolls. Delicate flavours, not greasy. Food was still piping hot when I collected and took it home 7 minutes away. Will definitely come back for more and already recommended to all my friends in the area. Thanks for making delicious hot food!

We had a banquet. It was delicious and very tasty. Everything was very well packaged and secure. We collected our food and brought it home in a taxi.

We live locally, and we’ve had plenty of takeaways from the S&PH down the years. The fact is we’ve never had a bad meal. The dishes are tasty and fresh, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Their S&P battered squid is our favourite, but really, you can’t go wrong ordering from The Salt & Pepper House. Keep up the great work, folks!

This is a Take Away establishment. I ordered early evening Christmas Eve. The take away order was for: honey spare ribs, barbecue spare ribs, prawn toast, chicken wings in ok sauce and a special chow mein. Barbecue ribs were dry but had no flavour Ribs in Honey sauce again was poorly seasoned with little hint of honey. Prawn toast was unevenly cooked and un appetizing. Chicken wings in ok sauce were just ok. Special chow mein looked good with plenty of contents but was tasteless. We were very disappointed and will not be ordering from here again. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen. Or the pressure of delivery orders coming in but certainly need to pay some attention to seasoning the food. If I hadn't have popped into the off licence next door I would probably have at the Allerton Fish bar which has a very consistent level of food. Sorry to be so negative but it was poor fayre. Most of the food ended up in the bin which is a shame.

Ordered a take out with the family, ordered 5 different meals and a couple of extra bits to share so had plenty of choice and every single bit of the take out was delicious, food was spot on, arrived on time generous portions just absolutely amazing, definitely one of the best places I’ve ordered from in a long time, would highly recommend

Salt n Pepper squid, chicken and ribs are the best I’ve eaten anywhere. Crispy chilli beef is just under them, perfect. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love this place.

Probably the nicest Chinese I’ve had in Liverpool. Really good veggie options with tofu and loads of different sauces. Fast delivery and really hit food. Friendly staff and great with allergies.

Ordered a couple times recently after hearing good things. Safe to say it’s the best Chinese in South Liverpool. Salt and pepper squid is amazing and crispy chilli beef can’t be beaten.

We have been going to salt and pepper house for a few years now and the food and service is unbeatable. Ste and the rest of the staff are amazing, always go above and beyond for customers. The food is the best, literally could eat everything off the menu. Our faves are, lemon chicken, Northern style crispy chilli beef and every salt and pepper dish there is. Couldn't recommend enough. Best chippy going.

Never had a bad meal since I have been going. So customer focused. Even went out of his way to buy a cauliflower and make me my own cauliflower dish. Last meal was cauliflower in a blackbean sauce with ginger and chili, cauliflower in their Northern sauce, and crispy beef in Northern sauce. Also salt and pepper cauliflower and salt and pepper sui mai's. I cannot reccomend this place enough.

It was a birthday tea and we was extremely happy with what we received. It's restaurant quality food at a takeaway price. The meals we got where Chicken Hot and Sour Sauce Special Fried Rice (it was very meaty and had like an omelette on top) Special Chow Mein Hot & Sour Soup The pleasant chap on the phone pursuaded us to opt for Peking Hot & Sour soup instead and it was absolutely lovely.(dark brown and more traditional in China) it was more peppery and more sour. Everything tasted so nice and it was still roasting hot when it arrived. The delivery driver was so pleasant and cheerful. He even sung a Christmas Song when we opened the door.

The food is absolutely delicious the crispy beef is fabulous and is a must try and the staff are fantastic

Amazing food as always. This is our favourite Chinese take away and the staff are lovely. The portions are massive and always loads left over for the next day. Love how there's loads of options you cant get at other places like the lemon and orange chicken and the chicken skewers. Had a little wait for food but it's understandable being a sat night and how busy it must be. Ignore bad reviews. The food is gorgeous and if there is a bit of a wait it's worth it.

Lovely food and friendly service

Foods about in line price wise but the quality of the food is fantastic, came very hot and rather early. I used to use another place who messed up orders 3 times in a month after using these guys, they’ll be my new go to. Would recommend.

The food was not a good standard. The pork was sickly sweet and after 2 or 3 bites I couldn't stomach any more. The chips were cold and some undercooked. The portion sizes were not consistent, some items with a huge amount and some with a very small amount. I would not buy from here again.

Generally not great, food took 2hr 20min to arrive and when it did (after several calls to restaurant) it was cold. Really not pleased and wish we hadn’t bothered! I’ll be looking for a refund on this.

Tho it was really late as I waited almost 3 hours but when it arrived it was extremely delicious. :-) really good tofu dishes and salt and pepper chips were out of this world.

You are trouble at delivering on a friday

Food was just warm, not hot anymore; although my omelette tasted good. Chicken wings were also tasty but cold.

Worst take out we've had. Went straight in the bin. Gutted £18 going nowhere, sorry for the bad review but just being honest.

2.5 hours from ordering to finally getting our food. Not the best quality either. They refused to answer the phone. I finally got through 20 minutes after the time it was due to be delivered. They hadn’t even started to cook it! 45 minutes and more ignored calls later and it arrived. I asked for a refund. She ignored me on the phone. She said she would call me back. This also didn’t happen. Avoid at all costs. £30 wasted. One evening wasted. Never again.

Food cold when arrived and food was that greasy that the bag split and they went all over the floor so couldn’t be ate

Ordered 19:14 was expected at 20:30 which is fair but it’s only a Tuesday night. Ended up cancelling the order at half 9... probably best ordering at lunch to make sure you get it at tea time.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Our food had not arrived so I called and the lady who answered asked me for my postcode. She said she did not have a receipt for our order, after about 7 minutes of discussing she said our order was with the delivery driver. 20 minutes later the food still had not arrived, my mother in law rang the restaurant and the lady answered again she again said she did not have a receipt. She was looking around for 5 minutes again and found the receipt, she said that it was with the delivery driver. She said she has 20 plus orders, She then said we had not paid which if you look at our order we paid by card. Again she then said she didn’t have a receipt. She then again ‘found the receipt’ however all the delivery drivers had gone home. My mother in law said that we would come and pick it up in 10 minutes, she said the order hasn’t been started but she will get it on right away. We arrived at the place and there was a delivery driver stood there taking orders to the car. She made us stand there for 5 minutes before she served us. By this point the delivery driver has left with the orders. She took my phone and checked and then said that it has already gone with the delivery driver despite the fact she was told we were coming and that there was no delivery drivers as they had gone home. The delivery driver was lovely and couldn’t be more apologetic, he was the only good thing about this order. The food was undercooked (the chips were hard) and the chicken tasted like it had been cooked and sat there for hours. We have been ordering here for a while and are disgusted!

Food was woeful , guy on the phone had a terrible attitude , got the order wrong aswell when I went down the guy had all dirt in his fingernails 🤢🤢 will never go back

Chips were undercooked soggy and cold .chicken was in big lumps not diced properly .totally inedible I binned it.i didn’t even try the rest.wont order from there again.

Food was late, seemed more veg to pad out meals with watery sauce, fried rice was boiled despite paying extra! Also for just short of £30 not even a lousy bag of crackers. Not impressed

Salt and pepper chips were full of grease and had a massive slice of onion with the brown skin still on plonked in the middle. Rice was tasteless, satay pork had huge half onions and peppers in obviously in too much of a rush to cut them properly. Prawn toast was nice to be fair...

If this place ever closes down I'm stopping fast food for good...if it wasnt for this diet i would live in there

All food was good but took ages. Predicted order time was 45-60 minutes, which immediately became 1hr 15 when the order was placed, and then arrived about 25 mins later than that.

It was too expensive for a takeaway. The meals didn't include boiled rice so had to pay for that. The extra for noodles and fried rice were far too expensive. I don't mind a delivery charge but a service charge as well? It just seemed expensive.

No meat in chop seuy roll. Chicken in chow Mein was like dogs meat. Freezing cold. Went in the bin. Tryed to complain but haven’t marked my order as complete to resolve it

Already over an hour for estimated delivery and they were very, very late. No warning of the delay and not a hint at an apology from the driver. Food was luke warm and chips very soggy. We ordered salt and pepper sui mai and they did not seem like they had been fried long enough. It wasn't a batter on them, more like salty icing sugar. Nah. Not for us.

Im not a fussy eater but the whole order went in the bin. The salt and pepper chicken skewers were so dry an didnt even taste like chicken. Its put me off ordering a takeaway again 🤮

Food was absoultly delicious. I had pre-ordeded for 7:30pm - food arrived at 7:45pm. This wasn't a huge problem for me though, I called and the staff member was really apologetic. As well as the delivery driver, who explained there was a problem finding my address an was just worried that my food would be cold. My food was still piping hot and very tasty. Without a doubt it was worth the extra wait. Will defiantly order her again and also tell friends and family to try there food. 👍👍

Food took over an hour and a half to arrive. Driver very friendly and apologetic on arrival.Food was ok apart from the salt and pepper beef, which appeared to have no beef in just bits of crispy stuff and we could not eat it as it was just tasteless hard bits of batter, nothing like crispy beef!! The rest of the food was average salt and pepper chips were nice but the normal chips dry and tasteless. Quite disappointing after such a long wait! We won’t be eating there again.

Not the best ,probs wouldn't order from here again . Crispy wontons had nothing in them . Salt and pepper sui mui had a weird batter on ,very powdery .. wasnt great .
