Salt Dog Slim's in Liverpool

So we got there and were the only people in the bar apart from one very disinterested barman. We asked for an Expresso Martini and got told they didn’t have the ingredients to make it despite it being one of the cocktails on their menu. The place looked ok and the cocktails we got tasted good but was a little disappointed to be honest

Free drinks and bartenders favourite Disney song was il make a man out of you. Enough said.

Cracking place, just don't eat the atomic hot dog as that's one spicy meatball

Liverpools OG dive bar and still the best for a reason. We always get great service from the bartenders, helped us navigate the menu well and looked after us all evening. The hot dogs are ridiculous btw. A very satisfying snap on the dog. If you know you know. Always a belter night here and they also host a WILD quizz night, not to be missed! Highly recommend.

Came here for the hotdogs was very quite but the bartender was supper chatty and created a great atmosphere for the 2 of us. We have a few chilled drinks. I know slims can be a good night. But even better a great place for pre gig and pre dinner. The staff our very knowledge and friendly. The place to go xx

Review is for nighttime drinking and party time, not the food. Banging atmosphere, DJ knew how to ramp it up and slow it down (for bar and bog trips) just right. Being Halloween weekend obviously was more made than usual, but a fun, safe, night with the music booming was what the doctor ordered. 5th star saved for if ever I do order food and will update!

Friendly staff. Bar seating ( bonus points ) not to mention there’s a bar inside of the bar if you know who to ask.

Only went for drinks with friends and the dog, but the bar staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Brought out a dog bowl full of water, and surprised us all with a free hotdog for Alan (our corgi), which he scoffed down at speed! Definitely will be coming back for more good drinks, great atmosphere, and fantastic hospitality!

It has been quite quiet the days I've been but not a problem for me. Bartenders are lovely and personable and going in quieter moments means decent chats with decent drinks with friends.

it’s our first time here, we had a fab time and we were impressed with the whole experience! We were greeted and shown round by jacob who was really friendly and informative, we’ll definitely be back

Had a great drink with Jacob, real genuine guy showed around and with it being my first time here I will definitely be returning soon after he fed me his sausage

Bouncers extremely helpful when finding a mates phone, took us round the entire place and collared the lad who'd took the phone. Definitely deserve some praise for it.

We had a very good night until the security staff were very, unnecessary rude towards us. We were just finishing our cigarettes & drinks so we could leave and he told us to “fuck off”. It’s a great shame to end a good night on a bad note. We will not be going again, nor we will ever recommend this establishment again.

It's a nice place but margaritas were too acidic, a pale ale costed 9.50 and the promise of a hot dog in half an hour never happened... Sorry

Wow what a fall from grace this bar has gone through. Back in the day there used to be pints on tap, cocktail menu, steins and it was a rather quirky bar nobody used to know about. Now it's full of students and only serves bottles? But has stein glasses on display for no reason 🥴 What? £4.50 for a bottle of Corona is daylight robbery. Epic fail.

Loved this bar and the staff who gave me a free hot dog after me craving something to eat at 3am. It absolutely made my night! I was so happy in that moment. :D It's the small things in world sometimes. Thanks guys for being great!

Was having a good night with friends until was assaulted from behind by a lad who claimed to be security despite having drink in his hand. He claimed a girl complained about my friend so had to take action but the girl he said had complained happened to be my friends work colleague who’d left with him.. when mentioning to friends they assured me it’s not the first time staff members have done that with one going ahead to say he’s had a barman throw ice at him before 😂😂

I love Salt Dogs Liverpool (so much better than Manchester). Always a great atmosphere and the service is top notch. Millie has been a fabulous server so sweet and never forgets my order, what a legend!

Had such a good night out with my friends at saltdogs got served by millie and beth they were dead sound and made some great bevys! If you have the chance get served by either of them!!!

Milly is absolutely amazing behind the bar didn't know what to drink when I came in but she sorted me right out and never wanted to leave. The rest of the staff are amazing and follow her lead with amazing performances and variety of drinks. The perfect night out.

Have just had my stag do this past weekend in Liverpool and we visited so many bars trying to find the right vibe for us. Really cool bar and great, friendly staff and patrons. Everyone seemed on the right wave length for each other with good music sprinkled in! Maybe just a few more songs added to the play list though! 😉 P. S. Try and find my dad jokes written about the place. Keep it up guys n girls

Had an amazing time is Salt Dog’s, Millie the barmaid shared her love about Sam Fender and made us some fantastic cocktails…still not sure if she’s an Aussie, Portuguese or from Birkenhead but nevertheless an amazing experience all around!

Watched a group of 4 men attempt to spike my friend. A man put his arm around my friend and put something in her drink. They made signals at each other when they realised that I had seen them. The men sat by the corner of the bar. We left immediately and the bouncers looked extremely suspiciously and were joined by a man who had previously been behind the bar. Avoid this place at all costs.

Highly recommend this place. Hot dogs and steins mid week are fantastic and cheap during happy hour. Staff are extremely friendly too. Casual bar visual wise but it's what you would expect.

Too crowded, spilt drinks on the floor and funny smells. Not my type of place to be. The beer garden felt like I was in someone's yard with speakers that was too close to my head. Not a place for a sober person to be.

All needs to be said here is that I was enjoying a peaceful and calm drink with friends when I was assaulted from behind by a member of security staff. He lost. And with that this bar lost my ten years of custom.

First time in Liverpool. Lively bar with cool music, friendly staff. Cocktails were tasty, amazing atmosphere. More for younger people

Intimate bar, that at the time was playing rock and indie from 00s onwards. Seating indoor and out, but mostly standing. Big draw seems to be the graffiti, some of which is absurd, hilarious or both!

Up stairs was nice had a cocktail master class which was good. Only down side to this place is communication we were an HR late arriving because of cancelled trains tried ringing, emailing and messaging as soon as we knew that we weren't going to arrive on time to no avail. So was a bit stressed when we finally got there as we had paid in full. But Luke was the best.

Tiny bar, amazing atmosphere, barstaff freehpouring jager into your face whilst they blast out punk rock tunes, Cannae fault it, doorstaff friendly even when trouble kicked off inside, felt like a fun safe place to end our night, cheers!

A small, cosy bar tucked away on Seel Street - what it lacks in space it more than makes up for in atmosphere. Great staff, great food and great beer. Be sure to order a stein to go with your hot dog!

Dog friendly. Lots of very funny intentional graffiti everywhere, however the easily offended will be offended by some of the graffiti. We weren't!

I'll start with the positives. We really, really enjoyed this bar, it's very cosy, the cocktails are delicious and the waiting staff are really attentive. It's somewhere I would definitely go again. The reason it didn't get 5 stars is simply down to the booking process. The bar was half full on a Saturday night and being quite frank that's probably because getting confirmation was so hard! I sent an email and then a text, then a follow up text and then a chase up email before anyone came back to me so that's something they should look at as I very nearly gave up. It's also worth noting that there was no salt for Margaritas or Tequila and no bar snacks. We were told these were downstairs but that was the end of the sentence. It might be worth bringing them upstairs then? You could maybe make some more pennies.

Very good cocktails but it was a lot busier than I thought a "secret" place would be. But it was Saturday night after all.

Great atmosphere and good hot dogs and drinks. Table service is available through a relatively easy to use app which is always good news. One of the tastiest and meatiest hot dogs I've had, a proper bockwurst style dog. Only issue here is when entering with face masks on were told by the bar staff that 'You don't have to wear face masks any more, you can take them off'. Didn't really know what to do as we chose, and continue to choose, to wear them and felt almost shamed into taking them off. How about letting people do their thing, if you want to wear them, let people wear them, and if you don't want to well thats fine too.

Very arrogant bar staff... Taking drinks when not finished. Ordered a sambuca shot, didn't believe me so checked my order on my phone and smelt a shot on the table (it was a tequila from another order). Also ordered 6 jagerbombes and only give the the jager. Never got that sambuca. The only thing it had going for the place was the music

Food was a 4/10, service is a mixed bag, some waiters are good and some are terrible. Service is very slow. There are much better options in Liverpool, don't bother with this place.

Hi had a nice meal staff amazing but 7pounds tip put on with out knowing which i would give any waybut nice to know 4.95 for a bottle corana wow.work at hotel not that much ordered 2 ribs but charged for 4 thats the.limit you can order but not told.so if you go for the eat help out you dont get the deal wont be going back

Disappointed just a pin code to get in secret bar expected a really nice bar but its literally nothing special, needs a good clean and refurb 9£ for a single gin and tonic and cant even put toilet roll in loo and handwash

Poor poor customer service. Used to be a lovely bar and now it's awful. The atmosphere used to be like an old time speakeasy, now it's like any other chavvy, sketty bar in the city. Never in my life have I seen "simulated champagne" as a cocktail ingredient. The prices are unreally bad for the service and quality. Staff were extremely rude and unprofessional except one gentlemen who seemed to be fighting a losing battle. Obviously surviving on its past reputation.

The bar staff tried to over charge us, it was our first drink, its a nice cosy bar keep your eyes on your money.

Wow the beer is way overpriced. Steins are great but such average lager. The hot dogs are pretty good though. Go for the chilli sauce one. It's got a bit of a kick.
