Bottomless brunch here is an absolute hoot and the servers are sure to keep the refills coming, Jess was an absolute star to us even though our party was a bit rowdy on one of the busiest days of the year

Tucked away in the Knowledge Quarter between Hope St and Hardman St, you'll find this lively and atmospheric student bar with loads to offer, no matter your age! Our retirement night out on Friday (28/3) gravitated to the H&A. It started with a great welcome, banter and service from Kelly, to reasonably priced drinks, lots of seating, which we appreciated, and students who were polite, friendly and happy to chat and laugh along with a random group of 'mature' customers. With karaoke, pool, and football on the tv, there was so much going on around us. A great end to the night - see you again!

First time here, pleasantly suprised. Huge pub with a beer garden at the back also. Big screens for the sport, decent beer selection. Will be back as the food menu looked good too

It was a one time event, but if I am ever in Liverpool again I will definitely be returning!

We booked as a group for a bottomless brunch. Excellent service from Jess throughout, she was friendly and attentive, would highly recommend!

Good Atmosphere and offering of entertainment with Pool and Darts, sports TVs and different seating areas alongside a Photo Booth. Pool is pay by card and the bar uses the MiXR app which can get you good discounts. It’s a sound pub that has a student orientated crowd. It’s good for various sports and there’s outdoor smoking areas etc.

Caleb at this location has absolutely no right to be titled the manager. The customer service skills we received were abysmal. After waiting 45 minutes for 3 drinks to be made and food to come we got informed our table number was not correct. The food had been delivered to another table (which may I include they ate and did not pay for). They refunded our order of the food, but made us pay for the drinks again, assuming that I could afford this as the refund takes 48 hours to come through. Customer service should be the number one priority for anyone working within this sector and the standards of this “bar” are severely lacking. Steer clear if you’re looking for a good time as the energy the staff emit bring the whole mood down. (Picture includes the table number which they switched in order to further make it feel as though it was our fault and not a staff member mistake).

Don’t bother with bottomless brunch here! The service was the worst we’ve ever received! It took them 20 minutes to get us our first drink!!! A stark contrast to when we went to the one in Manchester and Prosecco was waiting on the table for us when we arrived. Getting drinks was painful and when we did they were slammed down on the table by two people who obviously hated their jobs! The food was ok but they messed up the order so I ended up eating my pizza once the rest of the group had eaten and then they had the cheek to bring us a bill expecting us to pay more than the advertised price!!!! AVOID this place!

What a trip to Liverpool we had!! Arrived Friday and paid a visit to Hope and Anchor with staying at hotel next door, we had a great time on the Karaoke and then headed are way into the city, we then returned Saturday for a great bottomless brunch - they had a few people in who don’t understand hospitality but manageress dealt with them all very well and would say we had a minimum of 7 drinks and food for only £34 absolutely fantastic service and if lived in the city would be a re-occurring event - definitely recommend - thank you all

We went to the hope and anchor for our staff night out on Thursday evening, we all felt very accommodated for even with 11 in our company. The food was delicious and all the staff were so friendly. Thank you again for a great night.

Went to watch the 6 nations after it was advertised to be on, getting there the staff wouldn't put the sound on because the karaoke was on .... nobody was singing Poor from them wouldn't go back to watch any other sports

The lady that served us was rude and aggressive, very unwelcoming. Unclear advertisement of prices resulted in us being ‘told off’. Will definitely not be coming back.

Went in with a small pup on a weekday; staff were all really helpful and kind, even bringing him a bowl of water. Food was great, even though my eyes were bigger than my belly, and although the pup sometimes got restless, everyone was really sweet.

This is one of my favourite pubs!! Totally recommend 🤩 The food was delicious and I love the vibe and look of the place! Amazing and underrated gem of Liverpool. The prices are very good too for a big city. Not only the food and atmosphere was outstanding, the staff were too. Was served by „Josephine” and she was fantastic! A very lovely girl who always had a big smile on her face even during rush hour. Massive props to the young lady! I look forward to coming back soon. 😋

Highly recommend the Hope and Anchor to anyone in the area, they offer a wide selection of drinks / food, plenty of seating options, Pool / darts available, as well as sports on tv. Everything you could want from a pub really! The food is well priced and delicious, I had a triple stack burger 👌🏻 Finally but most importantly you can tell the pub is well run - all the staff are really friendly and deliver a high standard of customer service, we were served by James who was fantastic - thank you and keep up the good work guys 👍🏼

We had a bottomless brunch here during the week and couldn’t fault it. The service from Immy, Skye and Nicole was fantastic. They were really attentive to us and we didnt need to ask for more drinks as they were popping over to the table all the time to ask us. The burgers were delicious and we had clean plates all round. The drinks choice was a nice selection as well included in the brunch. A good selection of cocktails, spirits and beer. There were pool tables, screens and dart boards so plenty to do in between drinks. Would recommend and will definitely be returning. 😊

Food was reasonably priced and arrived timely, staff told us what app to use to have cheaper drinks which could not fault good atmosphere to start the night would visit again.

I used to eat here and the burgers were 10/10 but now they are terrible!!! The patty has changed to a cheap paper thin one. The place is badly under staffed so the food came out burnt as they only have one chef in a packed out pub. Poor management.

I have visited this fine establishment with some regularity for some time now. During my visits I have noticed some particular stand outs. First of all their delicious Inches pints, of which I have drunk many. Secondly, the friendly and patient bartender named Josephine. Moreover, today I noticed the exquisite condition and arrangement of the menus on tables.

Very rude staff waited over 30 minutes for a drink and we had to go up to bar ourselves and ask for our drinks after ordering on the app. The man at the bar had an aggressive attitude that was very unpleasant will not be back.

I personally haven’t tried their food but all I can say is that Hope and Anchor is the best place to have Pre-drinks before heading out-out into town. The service I would rate it a 5 on my opinion when it’s less busy, but when it is busy and there are queues then obviously you would have to wait.They pour the beverages quite quickly. The staff were polite and friendly. Atmosphere overall is definitely a 5 star for me because they have pool tables, darts and plenty of TV’s to watch live sports. On every Friday they have Karaoke night which is great fun; I personally don’t have a great singing voice 😂😅 I highly recommend this place 👍🏼 my SC: ste_c666

Went to watch football only place I could find to watch Rangers game staff very friendly and put the game on one off the big screens good choice of drinks the place is really a bar for students but I found it to be spot on I can't comment on food as we didn't eat here

Love staff member Kelly, we came Tuesday for lunch and she was lovely very bubbly manager and was explaining all what goes on and the best deals for us as new to uni this year, i had cheesy joe sourdough sub and it was lush so compliments to the chef too! Will be returning a lot!

Popped in with a few friends for drinks on a visit to Liverpool, was served by a lovely young lady with long blonde hair, I think her name was Nicole, she was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

The food was lovely and the service by Nicole was really refreshing, she was both friendly and efficient. With staff like this we will definitely be coming again.

A dull monday evening quickly turned into a lively night with a trip to the Hope and Anchor. The vibrant scene and welcoming atmosphere lures you in, and pleads for you to order a lovely, refreshing pint from Josephine, whose charming services put a smile on your face. But how can you enjoy a pint without a plate of the Hope an Anchors mouth-watering chicken wings and crunchy fries. All in all it should be nothing less but THE student hangout spot.
