Food was reasonably priced and arrived timely, staff told us what app to use to have cheaper drinks which could not fault good atmosphere to start the night would visit again.

I used to eat here and the burgers were 10/10 but now they are terrible!!! The patty has changed to a cheap paper thin one. The place is badly under staffed so the food came out burnt as they only have one chef in a packed out pub. Poor management.

I have visited this fine establishment with some regularity for some time now. During my visits I have noticed some particular stand outs. First of all their delicious Inches pints, of which I have drunk many. Secondly, the friendly and patient bartender named Josephine. Moreover, today I noticed the exquisite condition and arrangement of the menus on tables.

Very rude staff waited over 30 minutes for a drink and we had to go up to bar ourselves and ask for our drinks after ordering on the app. The man at the bar had an aggressive attitude that was very unpleasant will not be back.

Met the chef outside after cooking our delicious meal and thought he was a lovely genuine young man. Gave a nice environment for the pub think his name was Scott

Cheap student pub, best atmosphere of the lot in Liverpool. Great for watching live sport and playing pool/darts.

I personally haven’t tried their food but all I can say is that Hope and Anchor is the best place to have Pre-drinks before heading out-out into town. The service I would rate it a 5 on my opinion when it’s less busy, but when it is busy and there are queues then obviously you would have to wait.They pour the beverages quite quickly. The staff were polite and friendly. Atmosphere overall is definitely a 5 star for me because they have pool tables, darts and plenty of TV’s to watch live sports. On every Friday they have Karaoke night which is great fun; I personally don’t have a great singing voice 😂😅 I highly recommend this place 👍🏼 my SC: ste_c666

Came for drinks with my friends last week and were served by the lovely James at the bar. He was very friendly, chatty and made a great aperol spritz! I’d definitely recommend this pub to anyone and will be visiting again soon! :)

Went to watch football only place I could find to watch Rangers game staff very friendly and put the game on one off the big screens good choice of drinks the place is really a bar for students but I found it to be spot on I can't comment on food as we didn't eat here

Love staff member Kelly, we came Tuesday for lunch and she was lovely very bubbly manager and was explaining all what goes on and the best deals for us as new to uni this year, i had cheesy joe sourdough sub and it was lush so compliments to the chef too! Will be returning a lot!

Popped in with a few friends for drinks on a visit to Liverpool, was served by a lovely young lady with long blonde hair, I think her name was Nicole, she was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

The food was lovely and the service by Nicole was really refreshing, she was both friendly and efficient. With staff like this we will definitely be coming again.

A dull monday evening quickly turned into a lively night with a trip to the Hope and Anchor. The vibrant scene and welcoming atmosphere lures you in, and pleads for you to order a lovely, refreshing pint from Josephine, whose charming services put a smile on your face. But how can you enjoy a pint without a plate of the Hope an Anchors mouth-watering chicken wings and crunchy fries. All in all it should be nothing less but THE student hangout spot.

Hidden little gem this with a great atmosphere and looks to have loads going on from the advertisements around the pub. Excellent food too (we tried the crowd pleaser) and it didn’t disappoint with great smiley service from Jess!!! Spoilt for choice with available drinks and bottomless brunch looks amazing so we WILL be back.

Bottomless Brunch on Saturday afternoon. Very slow on drinks, got food order wrong, and two of our table had meals served late. It didn't look busy, but clearly, the staff was struggling.

Highly recommend the Hope and anchor - we came for drinks and food to watch the England match - 6 of us! Food was great! Drinks great selection and there screens are well placed so we could watch the match! Staff worked hard so didn’t have to wait long for drinks given it was busy - the manager Kelly served us herself too which was nice - she has a lovely place here

I highly recommend visiting hope and anchor, the customer service is excellent, as well as the atmosphere. This is a great place to have a drink with friends or family, I particularly enjoy the bottomless brunches. Caleb served us quickly and was so welcoming especially on such a busy day. Large selection of beers as well as tasty food makes The Hope & Anchor a nice place. And there's a beer garden in the back. Pool, darts, and plenty of screens to watch whatever game's on.

Came here on tuesday to watch the match, atmosphere was amazing!! the staff were so attentive and overall was a brilliant night. would definitely recommend coming here to watch upcoming games!!

Studenty sort of bar, sports TV, pool, craft beer and decent menu. Dog friendly as we took our two cocker spaniels in, staff brought out a water bowl and gave them lots of attention.

My husband and I went on Friday. We were served by the lovely Sky who couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We will definitely be going back soon. Caution,stay away from the mango cider. It's lethal and doesn't taste alcoholic 😱

I went in today to play a game of pool with a couple friends in my break. I had bought a drink and then payed for pool. Very rudely we asked by staff for our id, i am 17 however did not buy alcohol, attempt to buy it or plan on it. It was two o’clock in the afternoon and they basically kicked us out for doing absolutely nothing wrong. We were watched from the bar and on the cameras. The staff made me very uncomfortable and were unbelievably rude. I work in hospitality myself and would never dream of treating customers that way. We were not load or causing a scene nor did we do anything illegal. Will never be returning and recommend nobody goes. I’d give it less then one star if i could solely based on them staff.

Just arrived here off the plane, food was outstanding and reasonably priced, beers are cheap. The service for the staff especially Kara was 100% very helpful in providing information with a smile on her face, keep up the good work team.

Had a meal here with my wife today, the totally disinterested bar staff didn't really bother me , even the half hour wait for the food was OK, but honestly it was one of the worst pub meals we've ever had, tasteless hard chicken breast served with lukewarm chips and onion rings that tested the strength of your teeth enamel, they really need to improve, some of the restaurants in nearby bold street are not to different in their lunch time prices and are far superior in service and quality

I had the chicken Kaarage sub which was so delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff really friendly. Imogen was so lovely and welcoming. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The food in this place is pretty darn good, even the special offer menu gives you a wide variety of choice and added extras. We were served by Imogen, who was an exemplary member of staff, very polite and courteous, as well as very welcoming. If you are looking for a place to grab a bite to eat, this is definitely worth a visit.

Had a lovely time at Hope and Anchor! We came with the University of Liverpool's Pool society. The pub was very accommodating to all of our requirements as a society and the staff made sure to take good care of us while we were there! Drinks were decently priced and the food looked delicious. The 3 pool tables meant we were able to get everyone to play a handful of times before the night was up which left everyone with a big smile on their face. On top of this the outside smoking area was spacious and had heating to keep us from the winter chill. All in all I would definitely recommend this pub! The people and vibes are 10/10
