Wow. What a building.... Great service and food. Recommend A+++

The staff were amazing at this restaurant, the restaurant building and decoration was amazing but, we had the roast dinner and the beef was chewy and fatty, the vegetables were raw and crunchy (not in a good way), othere people have had a lovely meal here but we were unlucky and for the price we paid, it was disgusting.

Excellent ! I love this place. There is not once that I’ve come here that was disappointing. All times it’s a very very good experience. From drinks to food I love this place. Super recommend. It’s a bit expensive so prepare for that when you add wine. If no wine they have a promotion of food for 25£ which is good. I would change just the music would add some dining music to make it more cozy.

Bought my mum a gift voucher for £150 here and when she tried to use it they told her there was no credit and she would have to pay. After a lot of embarrassment they finally decided she didn’t have to pay but in my opinion the experience I paid for had been ruined by this point. Tried calling and emailing to discuss this but I was never called back and my email has been ignored. Very disappointed

If you want a classy meal in fantastic surroundings then this is the place you want. Fantastic place, knowledgeable staff that can't do enough to make you're visit as pleasurable as possible. A first rate place to go for steak and fantastic wine

We visited Hawksmoor on a Saturday evening, started off very well; coats taken at the door and shown to our table quickly. There didn’t seem to be any unoccupied tables so quite busy. The drinks order was taken and soon after the food order. We had 3 courses and a bottle of wine between two of us. The steak was good but not amazing and certainly not the best we’ve had in Liverpool. And the prices for both drinks and food are not cheap and didn’t seem to be good value for money. At over £300 for our meal and including a 12.5% tip which didn’t seem optional. The staff seemed very attentive all evening but we realised that this was because after our main course we were told that they needed the table back! My wife questioned this and was told a two person booking was only for only 1 hour 45mins and if it was a four person booking you would only get 2 hours. I don’t think they could have tried to get us out of the place any quicker. To be honest this ruined the whole experience. One other criticism was there doesn’t seem to be any dress code for either the staff or customers; in my opinion if you’re spending the kind of money they are charging you at least should dress appropriately.

Great place to eat and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Portions are big so careful how much you order!! Quite expensive though for 3 of us with only a cider and soft drinks had the bill came to £260 🥴. Staff absolutely fantastic with just the right level of attentiveness.

Cameron and Benedetta was absolutely fantastic. Made us feel so welcome plus happy to have a laugh with us also. The service was brilliant and the food was amazing.

Nipped in to Hawksmoor for a drink whilst shopping the other day and bar man Dan makes one hell of a cornflake milkshake. Wow, unreal! Will be going back for a meal soon.

While we absolutely loved the food here, we were disappointed with the service. The server was lovely but took 30 minutes to take our order when we were in a rush. It took another 30 minutes to arrive, so we didn't have enough time to order dessert as we had theatre tickets. We ordered the ribeye and the hake. For how much you have to pay, the initial service just needs to improve.

The Hawksmoor restaurants are some of my favourites but my recent trip to the Liverpool one was very disappointing. Service was OK, but the steaks themselves had been badly trimmed and full of sinew. We had the sharing platters for starters and mains as we were a large group. Very poor.

Excellent food and service in great surroundings. Loved it and will go again when I want to spoil myself. You pay for quality. It's worth it.

Very good this place has been on my list of Liverpool restaurants for some time, finally got a chance to visit , it didn’t disappoint, skip the brunch menu, straight to the rib eye.. fantastic Just one thing “the extra charges” I’m seeing more of these, the inclusion of a £1 charity donation and then a 12 1/2% service charge , I’m not sure what I think about this. On one hand I think this is not the USA with the staff not even earning minimum wage, and I choose my own charity donations thanks! Then on the other side what’s a pound and the restaurant team will be very good as they’re very well-paid? ..

Upscale, friendly atmosphere. Some great steaks with fantastic drinks to accompany the meal.

First visit to Hawksmoor following a recommendation and weren't disappointed. Friendly welcome on arrival and that continued throughout our visit. Lovely dinning area within India Buildings in Liverpool. We chose the Sunday roast option with extra sides,food was beautiful. Would recommend Hawksmoor and will definitely visit again.

We went for a roast dinner, I shall have to go back for steak. We went for the beef roast and wee offered the choice of rarer or more well done meat. I like my steak rare but my roast well done, so I appreciated that, and the meat was thickly sliced and still tender. The gravy was well made and the stuffing was a worthwhile addition though my wife wasn't as keen on it. The roast potatoes were very crisp, I was disappointed that they weren't cooked in dripping (it being a beef restaurant and all). The cabbage was buttery and cooked just right but the carrots were a bit low effort. Desserts were great though well balanced and not too rich or sickly. The atmosphere and decor have been really well done, lifted in no small part by the building itself. Then there's the staff, the absolute best service I have had in Liverpool. They were attentive and very observant of detail. Laid back and friendly but without being too much. I preferred this to Gustoand would come back here over there.

Hands down the best restaurant in Liverpool. We have been in town off and on for work for the past three months and have frequented this establishment. Everytime we go we feel at home and the staff go above and beyond. Tonight they went even further, as I dipped my sorbet in my beer they were inspired and brought me a drink based on what I was doing! It was amazing! I cannot speak more highly of the staff, I only hope to find myself here again so I can return!

I actually have had better, but did love it. Anniversary meal, so had all the family there. Staff were very patient with us. Toilets were a hike to get too, this affecting orders etc.

Came here for a Family members big Brithday celebration last night, I know some members of our party where unhappy about something last night but this is may review so will be reviewing based on my options. My food was lovely that I had Last night, I had picked from the alternative menu and had the Roasted Chicken. Was much bigger than I expected. I ordered the Beef Fat Chips as my side which where amazing. 😍 Chose a drink I wasn't sure about but loved, the Cornflake Milkshake. Very nice. Also wanted to say that Cameron our server was fantastic last night, he was very knowledgeable about all the food and drinks people had questions about. He was very friendly, I'm sorry I didn't get chance to tell him all this and thank him last night.

Staff are attentive and food was good, but can't see how prices can be justified.

Food quite nice but the selection of drinks terrible, Won't be revisiting. No guinness or draft lager, cans and bottles of nothing I enjoyed.

The only issue I have is the wine list. It starts at around £40 a bottle then quickly escalates.

Beautiful place, felt like we were on the titanic

I brought my sister here for a belated birthday lunch. The staff were all so friendly and attentive and went the extra mile by putting candles in my sisterw cake and desert. Food was delicious. Loved it that much I have since booked private dining for my small wedding. I'm sure we will back plenty of times in the mean time.

Arguable, but in my opinion this is the best restaurant in Liverpool - their full evening menu is great, the steaks are incredible and they even have a brunch menu now with excellent breakfast and sandwich options. The building is beautiful and the service is beyond excellent with friendly staff who really know what they are talking about and are eager to help you out.

Lovely food, great service and fantastic building. We had the express menu at lunchtime and can say it was delicious. Stater and main! The makrel salad was beautiful. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back. We also see the restaurant does Sunday dinner.

The best date night meal out with my wife in the 29 years we've been married. She was recommended all 3 courses by Yusuf, they must have the same taste buds, she was quoted as saying the best streak she's ever had. Thanks for all the touches like customised dessert plates.

The aesthetic, atmosphere, drinks and service were all top notch, but the food wasn’t up there. We had oysters to start, which were tasty, but the Sunday roast let us down. The beef was cold and the rest of the meal was warm at best, and I think even then it only felt warm because the gravy was hot. The carrots were hard and the veg in general seemed lacking in flavour and seasoning. Not what I expect from Hawksmoor, but this is the second time I’ve had an average roast from them, so maybe it should be? I don’t think I’ll be returning to any of the Hawksmoor restaurants for a roast any time soon…

Second time an this was even better than the first. Staff were brilliant,fun,happy and full of information around the food. The food eh. Bloody brilliant. Chateaubriand was off the scale, scotch bonnet oysters oh yeah, lobster omg, lemon sorbet amazing. Could go on but I won't. Cheers

Insanely good food. I’m a stickler for a steak, to the point I rarely order them out, but this was very good. Service was attentive and friendly without being cloying. Well done.

Myself and my friend went to Hawksmoor Liverpool for a joint birthday dinner. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table. Every person we had an encounter with, from greeting us, serving our plates etc were so friendly and engaging. Lauren who showed us to our table brought over a ‘hawksmoor guide to Liverpool’ and went over her recommendations and was really helpful. Cameron our main server was beyond exceptional! We need more Cameron’s in the world! He treated us like queens for our pre birthday meals and went above and beyond. He always came to check on us and made our meal amazing. Thank you for having us and I would recommend this to anyone!

Me and my partner both had a great meal here,amazing steak each and we both had to have the bone marrow gravey and we even tried oysters which was a first for us.we had to ho all in and have the natural and we are now converts,my partner she can be fussy but like is say she liked thwm also. The decor inside the hawksmoor is done with taste.

Oh my! I don't think there are enough superlatives out there to do this restaurant justice. I had heard how fab Hawksmoor was but never been lucky enough to go. Now I'm a complete convert. The moment we arrived the service was smooth, friendly, and attentive. The choice from the menu was brilliant and the food itself did not disappoint in any way - WOW! The head chef and their team in the kitchen cooked everything to perfection and my food allergies weren't an issue in anyway. It was a night of dining that my friends and I will remember for a long time to come

Absolutely impeccable service, divine food and stunning interior! Me and my partner came in for our anniversary for a Sunday roast. We were greeted by Anca with smiles and taken to the bar area as we were early and ordered some delicious mocktails recommended and made by Dan. We then were taken through to the restaurant area by Georgina who was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the history of the building. When the food arrived it was absolutely delicious, the best roast dinner we have ever had!! We decided to go for the chateaubriand with all the trimmings. Would 100% recommend 1000/10! Thank you for such an amazing all around experience ❤️

The minute we walked in the interior was beautiful old school elegant decor and was greeted by very friendly staff who seated us and then another staff remember took us threw the menu and took our order the starters where unbelievable then the steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing also the MacNCheese was delicious in the style it was brought to us and the other sides we had then the sticky toffee pudding was to die for all in all the staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for the customers we will definitely be returning

Fabulous celebration dinner for our daughter’s graduation. Beautiful setting - lovely historic building. Food was in incredible! Two of us shared a Tomahawk steak which was perfection. Lobster and Fillet steak were also amazing. Service from Ben was great - advisory and informative, with the right level of attention. Would definitely recommend eating here. Thank you ☺️

I went to Hawksmoor this evening for a meal. The restaurant is beautiful and decorated to a very high standard. The staff are very attentive and able to deal with all requests quickly and effectively. I would say the food was a bit of a mixed bag. The starter and pudding were really nice. Unfortunately the steak was a little tough but had a fantastic flavor. I feel that my table was a little close to other tables and when they were serving they were very close to me. If I was eating at this point it would have been a bit annoying. Overall I enjoyed the experience and would say it's a good place to go.

Possibly the best customer service in Liverpool. And great steak too. Expensive but worth it! If you like Yorkshire puddings the starter with them is amazing!

It's a nice place with expensive roast dinner. The service was ok. Too much for a roast dinner. The food was well prepared. I recommend it, but be aware you will spend a bit of money there than other restaurants.

We visited for our first time yesterday and we loved it. The decor in the restaurant looks stunning. We were seated promptly and were made to feel welcome. All of the staff were exceptional throughout and were readily available. We tried the limited edition 'Big Matt' burger, which tasted amazing. It is a ramped up version of the other burger with a similar name. When I say ramped up, I mean in every respect, as it was bursting with flavour. The beef dripping fries on the side were lovely too. We also tried the pineapple soda and strawberry & cream soda. Both of these tasted so fresh and we were very happy with our choices. Looking forward to visiting again to try some steak!

Some would find this place abit pricey but as they say you get what you pay for,the food was spot on.

Best steak I have had in many years

Staff service impeccable. Can't fault at all, from front desk to every server that came to our table, above and beyond to make us feel welcome. However, when it comes to food, Hawksmoor being world famous for top tier steak, definitely did not live up to reputation. Our starters and sides were of good standard, especially the ceaser salad. But when it came to our Filet Steak mains, the standard was well below par, especially when the price is £40 for a 450g piece. The my steak was cooked okay, I ordered medium rare, but arrived closer medium, but the steak was luke warm at best. It had either been left to rest too long, or was put to one side and forgotten about. So much to the point that the steak was even on the dry side. In a normal, average restaurant, I would not have an issue as this is what I would expect. However for a restaurant chain that is renowned for their 10/10 steak, a 6/10 just wasn't good enough for me or my partner, especially on our 6 year anniversary. So I don't plan on returning any time soon, purely out of disappointment of built up expectations.

Simply spectacular. Best steak in Liverpool, best Sunday Roast anywhere. Great ambience and lighting, lovely building, staff are fantastic. Feels like the quality of service from 30 years ago, and so hard to find these days. Little tip: they do accept BYOB if you pay corkage, so can be worth bringing your favourite bottle! Cannot fault. Go, you will not regret it.

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at Hawksmoor Steakhouse tonight, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect mood for a special occasion. The staff were attentive and made us feel welcome. The food was the highlight of the evening. For the main course, we both opted for the Fillet steak. Cooked to perfection, each bite was tender and bursting with flavor. The sides of Beef dripping fries and English Lettuce & Herb Salad complemented the steaks wonderfully.

Really enjoy this place. Great service and great food and drink. Been a few times now and always enjoy it.

Lovely building and ambience good service. But the main item the steak (rib eye) was 6/10 bit chewy. It's very basic!!! presentation of the steak with no classic garnishes.

I visited Hawksmoor tonight and my ribeye steak was absolutely delicious. The staff were really friendly and attentive, especially Dan who went above and beyond to ensure our experience was first class. The building itself is stunning and has a fantastic ambience.

We visited Hawksmoor last Sunday for a family birthday celebration. The ambiance at Hawksmoor is warm and inviting, perfect for a special family gathering. The décor is stylish yet comfortable, with a blend of modern and classic elements. The service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. We had the Sunday Roast with roast beef, and it was delightful. The meat was exceptionally tasty, and the gravy complemented it perfectly. We also tried the carpaccio and the English salad, both of which were very good. For dessert, we indulged in the sticky toffee pudding and the sticky toffee sundae, and both were incredibly good. The cocktails were also excellent, enhancing our overall dining experience. The only disappointing bit was discovering their own branded beers came in a can and not on tap. While Hawksmoor is on the higher end of the price spectrum, the quality of the food and the exceptional service made it worth every penny. The portions were generous, providing good value for the money. The restaurant was impeccably clean, including the dining area and restrooms. We observed that hygiene practices were followed diligently, which was reassuring. Overall, we had a fantastic time at Hawksmoor. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for our family celebration. Highly recommend for a special meal out.

Not very busy but food excellent

I was expecting something very special for the price. But this place Is massively overpriced for what is a very average experience .. The service is very good. The steak is good. But the sides are tiny and pub fair standard. The wine is a horrendous rip off. Their cheapest bottle is £50 and it's absolutely nothing special. Expect a £200 bill for two people with no starter or dessert. It had the feeling of a place where chavs go to spend a lot of money to make themselves feel special. It was rowdy and noisy and disappointing.. I can't imagine anyone eats here twice.

Our absolute favourite place for a steak. Some of the best food we've eaten at a restaurant. Great menu, good atmosphere and very attentive staff. Cocktails spot on and we had a really nice night. They accommodated my husbands birthday fantastically

Arrived 10 mins early for a 8:15pm booking. Skipped starters as didn’t want to stay too late with a 10 and 12 year old. 1:30mins later food arrived. Missing items off what we ordered and the fillet steak was fatty. Not a great way to celebrate a 50th birthday. Not great

Considering this is famous for their steaks, they seem to struggle cooking them properly. We ordered 2 huge steaks (porterhouse and another) to share between us, asked for them medium-well. Tell me why the porterhouse came out looking grey, the bottom half was overcooked and the top half was raw? Then the other steak came out grey yet again and undercooked throughout. Sent them both back and while waiting for them our sides obviously went freezing cold. Was not offered to reheat or fresh sides. Complained to the waitress who spoke to the manager who then came over and said “sometimes the bigger steaks can cook unevenly” sorry??? Your chef cooked that steak, even sliced it up, saw that it was unevenly cooked but still decided it was good to go? Weird. Then said we were unhappy with it even after getting it back and he told the waitress to offer us a free bottle of wine and desserts, which we refused and thank god we did because we would’ve had to pay £100 for one steak. Then got our bill to see he only took of one of the steaks. Awful. The only highlight was the lobsters and scollops we had for starters, they were cooked to perfection - I would go back for the seafood 100% but with the way the manager handled it I won’t be coming back.

Nice food but unbelievably slow. Private dining for 14, reserved for 8pm, finally got our main course at 9:45pm, pudding by 10:40pm and the ejected at 11pm.

Just had a great weekend in Liverpool with friends,to finish the weekend we booked the Hawkmoor for Sunday lunch..What a treat the staff were amazing especially Georgina who went above and beyond nothing was to much trouble,The food was the best Sunday lunch I've ever tasted and the remaining group agreed..cannot fault anything even the trip to the toilets is amazing keep up the great work a credit to the Hawkmoor Chain...

Service was very good and friendly. My boyfriend said his steak was brill and all the sides were delicious. I had the burger and I think it was perhaps a little dry but everything made up for it.

Me and my partner went for a roast yesterday here the half of chicken tasted like it just been deep fried from the chippy and tasted awful the beef I got I asked for medium to well done it came out burnt and the roast potatoes tasted like frozen potatoes food definitely isn't fine dining and the price for a coke £4 for only 200ml bottle is absolutely shocking. The service was okay staff seem to feel scared to talk to you but I explained our food wasn't good and they refunded some money without hesitation. But personally get alot better meals in a toby carvery

3.6/5 - Sunday roast. The steak was nice! However we got a 1kg cut of prime rib and I’d say one end was too fatty to eat and the other was a bit over cooked. I feel like the cocktails are a little bit lacking of taste and I think the trimmings for the Sunday roast could do with a bit more attention/seasoning. I may be being slightly harsh just because it’s such a hyped up Sunday roast. The vibe was nice and our waiter was lovely! I think also the price isn’t the best value for money.

Second time I've been here.Unfortunately,nowadays people seem to like paying lots of money in a restaurant when they have zero knowledge of how the business works.Suckers Anthony Bourdain called them.And I concur.This brand is doing its best I know but when you're charging 38£ for a fillet then charge between 5.50£ and 7£ for sides you'd best get it right.Not today.Its was my Mums birthday. They served her a raw burger and served her side of cauliflower cheese 15 minutes later after twice being asked where it was.It wasn't busy....Then a 12.5% service charge that I didn't pay but left the amount for the staff leaves a very sour taste.Not as salty as the over-seasoned fillet either.p.s.Im a former National Award winning chef......I know every trick in the book.And the key elements of success are getting the basics right on a consistent basis.....That's all. ..

The first time I had a wonderful experience at Hawksmoor, however, upon returning for a special occasion I was bitterly disappointed. The only thing I found good was the starter (blue cheese salad) My ribeye steak was tough and tasteless and dessert tasted unpleasant. I will not be returning as it was certainly not value for money.

Amazing restaurant, food was exceptional as well as the staff. Very welcoming girl at reception (didn’t catch her name), our evening was fantastic from start to finish. Robyn was very helpful and friendly, she recommended us some sharing cuts which were just the tastiest steaks we ever had. The sommelier Helena suggested us amazing pairings with oysters and meat. Outstanding experience.

From the gin and tonic (as god intended it to be served) To the double espresso ( the nicest coffee I think I’ve ever had ) It was a really good experience The bar and dining room was busy ,we had a great table in the corner ,food was served promptly and tasted really good What can I say ? Have been once before and for the second time, the service was excellent and the food was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly. You are not rushed to eat your meal, plenty of time to relax. Generous portions, we had a starter and a main, no room for a sweet. If you want a quality meal at not outrageous prices, then try the Hawksmoor, you will not be disappointed.

Have been eager to try Hawksmoor but was waiting for an offer/special occasion. With Liverpool Restaurant week they were doing a snack, a cocktail (sharpener), a main and dessert for £35 so felt it was too good an opportunity to miss. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, very stylish and the staff are all very knowledgeable and efficient. Had a Ps & Qs Sharpener before our snack arrived which was lovely and refreshing. The Ox Cheek Nuggets were crispy and full of flavour aided by a spicy tomato sauce on top. Had the potted beef with yorkshire puddings for a starter which was wonderfully presented and excellent both in flavour and size. My friend had a smoked mackerel salad that was delicious. The smoked flavour mixed with the fresh tangy sauce was great. Steak was really well cooked, lovely cut and the accompanying chips and salad were great. Peppercorn sauce was shared and was just enough for two. Sticky Toffee Sundae for pudding could of been a little warmer but that was my only real criticism of the evening. Definitely not one for the fainthearted price wise when there isn't a deal on (wine starts at £40) but a great choice for a special occasion or if you're minted.
