Service not good very rude staff

I ordered a dish with lamb and lentils but it was blitzed into pulp could recognise what I was eating .by blitzing it increased the chilli heat . I also ordered keema byrani which was keema curry mixed with rice which also was so chilli hot due to the mixing .there was no layers like there usually is with bryiani. I used to love this place but I have noticed the last few months the food quality has become poor .

My experience today at this was terrible. I ordered lamb buriyani for lunch today. All customers who were there at that time spoke in their native language except me. Myself and another ordered the same meal. However, the person serving the meal served two distinctly different way, including the portions. For example side dishes of mine all put together, for him difference dishes, mine potion distinctly smaller compared to his, even the meat only two tiny pieces of bones for me. I did not bother to asked why it is like this as I was uncomfortable. I thought to myself, may be it is a different meal with extras with a different price. We both finished eating at same time, I was to pay after him. The guy who service didn't want me hear price he was paying for the food. Feeling suspicious, I watched closely and asked the guy who served me who was also the same person taking the money, why do you serve two different standards of potion for the same price. The guy startled and said that it was a mistake he charged less for him and tried to be defensive. I'm usually not fussy with food or services. May be this is my first ever review since can't remember writing any review before. However, this one, I felt so strong and and wrong being treated like.

I don't know, just awful; my first and last experience. I just think basic English would help .. if you speak their language go if not don't.

Ever since the staff/owners of this place changed few months back, the food hasn't been the same and the price is far too expensive now. If you'd like proper quality, walk a few steps down the road to Salims.

This place use to be the spot the food before was amazing recently I got food poisoning, the lady who served me was rude giving me attitude. the price for the quality is expensive and rubbish

Very poor service , take hours for just 6 naans Even if you call them before coming they give you time of 20 minutes and you still need to wait 20 minute after arriving.

Food is never fresh. Most of the time the curries are 1 or 2 days old. Always ask if it's cooked on that day. Very disappointed,nn

To clarify, we didn't visit, just ordered for home delivery. So sad that this once proper Desi cafe has turned to cr*p. My entire family have been customers for the last 16yrs since we moved into the locality. Salim's even catered for my son’s 1st birthday/Akika and the food was absolutely wonderful! There’s no option on TA to select ‘delivery’ so I’m posting here. We received what we thought was the wrong order for Iftar. I called SalimSpice and tried to explain that we wanted ChannaChaat but were instead delivered some kind of cold channa dhal. Hugely overpriced, overspiced and over-salted. I asked if I could swap this incorrect order for the correct order and was denied. I offered to send a photo and a copy of receipt but was told not to bother as I had been sent the correct order! No refund, no replacement. I feel Salims has forgotten its grass roots, instead it serves up generic slop for gentrified English people who are not familiar with authentic Pakistani food. Ramadan Karim indeed.

Just increased prices to almost 35% and pretend as if it's normal. A pound more for a £3 wrap is not normal, it's extortion. Why would people come here and not go to jashan??? Ridiculous.

I have been to this restaurant several times to buy their meat samosas, they are usually very good. Unfortunately this time when I brought six, two were empty and filled with oil, they had obviously burst while cooking. Whoever had cooked them should have thrown them away and not have sold them in the restaurant. They were uneatable. I shall not be buying any more food from this restaurant.

The food is getting worst day by day. Yesterday, I bought the food. I believe they use unhygienic spices. Due to that since yesterday, my stomach extremely disturbed. I wish I can give them a 0 star.

I hope owner will see the post. Workers keep talking each other non stop when costumers are waiting. Lady make food service with oily finger and gets money same time. They forget the bread which i paid and when i call for complain she hung up the phone on my face and never answer my following calls. I never visit this shop again. I've had better visits, but tonight I feel like I got treated with badly. I ordered saag aloo, chana daal and rice with roti. The food tastes good, the saag aloo had a nice pepper to it. If you're not used to pepper, do not order it. The problem is, them making me stand there for 10 minutes almost, waiting. In that time they were talking non stop with someone who came in after me, to an empty shop. Joking and laughing, instead of concentrating. In that time they were warming up food for orders, but they didn't warm mine up. So why was I waiting? The roti sat on the side, waiting for the rest of the food, but it fact my food just sat in the containers, cold. I have never been in there and left with cold food. Imagine going to a takeaway and having to eat cold food! They also didn't give me any salad or yogurt sauce, which is usually standard with all their meals. I don't understand why they forgot, seeing as they packaged it up for other orders right in front of my eyes. Disappointing.

Like other 1 & 2 * reviews again staff attitude issue. Waited patiently at obviously a busy time. Then someone who came in 10min after me just went up & got served by the ignorant woman behind the counter. Pointed this out, got into argument with ignorant customer & the woman about social norms.  No apology from staff/manager. As for food, I asked for mixed veg. & specifically asked for less potatoes. Wanted to order other things but just wanted to get the hell out. Got home & saw it was just Cauliflower & predominantly potatoes. Not what I asked for. I'll try this place again sometime in future to check if improved. Hopefully the woman will be sacked by then. Come on Google when r u going to give the 0 * option!

Worst Indian I’ve had. Food drowned in oil. Lamb had no taste and was chewy. Food was so bad we couldn’t eat it. Definitely would not recommend.

1 out of 5, Samosa’s and Pakora’s not fresh they heat them in the microwave to fool you… old meat with loads of peppers to hide the smell…keep away… customer service useless!!!

No hygiene, there was living insects in the food parcel and the portion size was also not enough. They doesn't maintain proper precautions while handling vegetarian and non vegetarian food

It has been great tasting food and Im a regular who loves fresh taste dishes from their menu. However recently I ordered a lamb biryani, but got achar gohst mixed with rice. Being Asian myself I know the taste difference in each curry and flavours! I couldnt let this slip as I like their food and don't want to stop ordering for one mistake so I have called to report it. For future reference if they don't have certain dishes then I'd prefer if they called customer or remove item from online order. Not great when delivery charge is £3.99! I do hope you rectify these things as it can affect referring customers and losing them too.

I've been visiting Salim Spice for a few years now. I think the food is delicious, spicy and good value for money. I normally get takeaway and a large portion of food is £5. You get some salad and yoghurt thrown in for free which helps to calm the spice a bit. I've found the staff to be friendly and pleasant. The only small gripe is that the food can sometimes be a bit too oily. However, it's so tasty I'm happy to overlook that. I generally go for the vegetarian options such as dhal, mixed veg curry, chana etc and can certainly recommend these.

The chicken curry on the bone is actually tandoori chicken covered in a generic gloopy curry sauce. The Bombay Aloo had remnants of cauliflower and sweet red pepper in it - obviously the chef just plucked out some spuds and covered them in the usual curry as well! Really awful - patronising and disrespectful.

I've been a customer since 2006, I've enjoyed many good meals throughout these years. Over the last couple of years I have experienced great change. The customer service has severely deteriorated and the food quality. It's very difficult to say but... it's almost as if you are not welcome if you are not Pakistani or Indian and they charge you more ! Today I went there and once again I was made to feel unwelcome and experienced very bad service. It is such a shame as I've been enjoying there food for fifteen years. I will not be going to this takeaway any more as it is so unfriendly now. If you are not Pakistani or Indian you are not welcome. The funny thing is, I am half Indian but it's not visible enough ! Such a shame.

Ladies and gents. This place is a hidden gem. Please don’t confuse this with Salim Restaurant!!! This is the same family but the eldest brother (Raza) makes top notch food!!! PLEASE TRY THE VEG SAMOSA!!! I love them. The one item I keep returning for and is a must try the lamb curry with basmati rice. The mix grill with a couple of naan is popular especially in the hotter days! You will thank me later!!!

After 1 minute of making the order we tried to cancel it, we called them and a rude woman said the order was already cooked. We got the order at home without want it and the food was cold and it seemed like was preheat from I few times. RUDE STUFF!!!!!!

Just ordered a chicken tikka wrap on Uber eats and honestly I have to say it was the best wrap I’ve had in a very very long time! Very generous portions of chicken and the chicken it self was so succulent definitely going to be ordering this regularly.

If you like spice hot originally North Indian and Pakistan cuisine then this place It's highly recommended. There are a variety of of curries to choose from very inexpensive good for a quick take out and tasty on the palate too.

Wish they were using gloves when wrapping Kebab rolls. I have issues about hygiene. Wish I'd refused to buy them and leave. Apart from that their chicken was delicious.

Very cheap curries and kebab rolls plus other delicacies. The food is better than most places around the vicinity. It's always busy so that a good sign. The staff look miserable and don't smile for some reason. Maybe the long hours ..... But it's a nice takeaway and has entry of space for families and eat in options.

Oh what can I say! Undoubtedly the best place for authentic Pakistani restaurant in North London. Have been a regular here since they started. Reasonably priced, freshly cooked daily and great staffs. Also takes order for large takeaway orders for parties and gatherings. I have introduced so many of my friends to this place who now comes from far and beyond for Salim's food. Good selection of vegetarian dishes too. My favourite snacking is their freshly cooked sheekh kebabs, chapli kebabs and salads with fresh nans. Meat pulao, Paya, Nehari and haleem. Give them a try!

This place is Awsome, great food and Razza a great guy. Try Chopile Kebab if they are ready. Im from New Zealand.

Today I order food and when collect food the guy did not give me 4Naans which he forget and when I phoned him he said when you come back collect that time but I need Naans now not some other time so I had bad experience from that restuarant.

How can anyone give this place one star and complain food is 'pre made'? Some of the curries take literally hours to cook..and are cooked fresh every single day. I have eaten from here on multiple occasions and the food has always been authentic spicy and delicious. They offer a curry/rice box meal with a drink for £5. Anyone who thinks that is expensive is not used to uk prices. The fresh chilli naan is the best. Lovely lovely staff. 5 stars! I miss it now iv moved.

I'm not going to say this is the best curry take away in London but it does get my full recommendation. Not really for those who don't like spicy food as all the curries have a bit of a kick. Pre-prepared curries are in trays in the chiller and portions are individually heated, rather than each dish being cooked from scratch, if you know what I mean. I don't know if it's just because of Ramadan right now but what I like is that they change their selections so you can sometimes try something new. I had Chana Chaat today -a spicy cold salad type dish with yoghurt which was very good indeed. Fried spicy aubergine slices were something else on offer recently. Tasty. And they've done a kind of fruit salad which was refreshing in the hot weather. One favourite of mine is Masala Fish which they will serve wrapped in a bread with salad and mint/chilli sauce. Pretty hard to beat. Nice to see a good variety of veggie dishes on offer. Mixed veg / chana / dhal are staples and there'll be others like okra. They don't have bean curry very often, though which is a shame as they've had some ace black eyed bean curry in the past. Samosas are home made and decent. Not like the chewy ones some places sell. And they have a proper tandoor so naans come out fresh and fluffy. And they sometimes do puddings like rice pudding, semolina or those brown squidgy looking things, the shape of kiwi fruit -Galub Jamun. Staff are friendly and even pick out the cardomon pods from me pilau rice when spooning it out which is a nice touch as I can't stand it when you bite into one of those beggars! It's also right opposite a pub, if you want to build-up a beery appetite first. Not exactly Weight Watchers!

We go to eat and sometimes takeaway from Salim regularly. The food is freshly cooked with fresh ingredients.

Delivered from a Justeat order. Call back almost immediately to confirm order, very polite service. Food was delivered piping hot over a half hour early, which was great, and all in all good food. Chicken Tikka Masala was a little greasy, but still very tasty. Would order again!

Wife and I tried this place out. Both fell sick. The food was not fresh but pre made, left on the counter for God knows how long, and then microwaved to order.

I was told I couldn't get a refund. After explaining that I would report them to Just Eat, they suddenly found my missing naan bread in the delivery vehicle, which was delivered 40 minutes later. The rest of my food became cold in the meantime. No apology or compensation was offered. Terrible service and rude staff.
