Sakoon Cafe in Liverpool

Yo. Loved it. Friendly staff. Comfy seats, nice corner tables which work for bringing young children along. Huuuuge portion for kids meals! Excellent Qozi kebab, lamb done excellently, falling off bone. All seemed fresh and cooked in an acceptable time. Tasty lentil soup starter too. Lots of good buzz in the place as people catch up and chat over food. Waiters and chefs listened well when we explainsd our food allergies, and they ensured our meals were allergen free. Been coming to sakoon for many moons since the day it opened my go to has always been the half roast chicken and rice used to be £4 back then gone up over the years but still the same quality

Bad service and bad food 🤢 Had chicken in there was old and dry they just warm it up but was really discusting

I really like the food but for some reason the restaurant does not like|want to serve roast potatoes with the salmon. In multiple occasions I've ordered this meal for collection & ask beforehand whether roast potatoes are available. Yet when get home with my order it's like today, the spicy potatoes instead. I don't even call the restaurant about it now, just order less often. The roast potatoe salmon is a recommend, though I guess only when 'dinning in'.

Ordered donner kebab, lamb kebab and lamb kofta kebab meals which came with Nan bread, salad including minted onion and choice of rice or chips. Absolutely loads of donner meat - really tasty, not greasy. The chips were moorish too. Fabulous sized meals. Also ordered can of coke and two bottles of water and came to thirty something pounds. We also received free starter of soup which was really nice. Certainly left feeling full. Cafe was clean and staff polite.

Highly recommend Sakoon, went for lunch months back and was delicious. Great prices, great food and great service.

Visited 2nd January 2023, would highly recommend the food and customer service. Pizza was amazing, the half chicken is tasty, great value for money.

Ordered a cheeseburger with salad and special sauce. The order came with a good sized portion of chips too which was unexpected. The cheeseburger was a good size and tasted delicious, special sauce had a slightly spicy taste to it but not hot in the mouth and the salad was fresh. The order came to £6.50, was filling, excellent quality and would recommend over a McDonald's any day.

Lovely little hideaway on lodge lane, had a lovely jacket potato with chicken and salad, although the salad had mint sauce with it, I'm not a huge fan but I didn't ask so that was my fault, just need to check this out for yourselves!!

Amazing place! Hummus is hands down the best i have tasted in liverpool. Kababs and the doner is very authentic. Chicken broast is so tender and delicious Ambiance - 8/10 Food - 9/10 Value for money 10/10

Highly recommend Sakoon. Really good food at a great price. Ordered the lamb chops. Very tasty and cooked to perfection. Food was served quick also enjoyed the lentil soup.

We wanted to go into KO next door, unfortunately very busy so we opted for sakoon. The food was cheap and that was reflected in the quality of the food. Ordered some curries didn’t even taste like curry. Very watered down type of flavour. Whilst dinning there one of the chef was smoking in the kitchen discreetly. I will be contacting the environmental health officer along with the video I have taken and will pass onto them. The restaurant seriously needs to improve the health and safety. Not impressed and will not be returning. Good luck to any future customers.

Just purchased three kebabs, went straight home and because of poor quality packaging I could not eat the chips or the bread as both were rock solid by the time I arrived home' zero care taken for takeout food' waste of money' Chicken was also super dry, really disappointed and still hungry after wasting over £20 on food from here Plus to top it off no tubs of sauce as was requested

Lovely and delicious food they even offer soup on arrival and its very tasty.

I ordered grilled chicken with rice. Food is decent, the yellow rice were a little sweet which I personally don’t like, others may like them. The staff are very friendly and the toilets are very clean to use.

Best grill chicken in Liverpool

Sakoon used to be our favourite takeaway for many years. Unfortunately there has been a lot of changes made to the food. The portions particularly for the lamb qasi are smaller. The potato stew that comes with it was so salty it was not edible. We ordered the mixed kebab today and it was 90% very dry chicken and 10% dry lamb. Photo attached. The chips are never properly cooked anymore. Soggy white things, they're awful. The worst part of it all is we tell them to fry them for longer, burn it if you will but no - still uncooked chips. The roast chicken also has some weird sweet spicy sauce put on it at the end. Almost like a jamaican jerk chicken. Why? It's a middle eastern cafe. Anyway today we gave up after so many let downs from Sakoon. The old Sakoon will be missed.

This a a very tasty place. If your looking for real tasty food and like to eat in or take away then come here. Deffo try the half chicken better than nandos and chicken kebab is amazing too. This is very inexpensive too and is a little secret of l8 and the community 😉 been going here for years.

Had a boss meal at Sakoon today. Christina, melissa and Maria were wonderful and extremely helpful. The chefs Yadi and Alan provided excellent food. I will defo be back soon.😋 hope they have baklava in nextime though.

Je me permets de laisser un avis parceque je recommande grandement ce resto! Je prends régulièrement le chicken shawarma kebab et c’est le meilleur que j’ai gouté jusqu’ici. Le pain est fait maison inutile de préciser qu’il est très bon. J’ai testé plusieurs restos halal à Liverpool et celui là reste un de mes préférés ! On mange très bien et pour pas grand chose! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Foods delish. Try the chicken Korai as it's a thing of beauty. Speak slowly on the phone as the fella who answers is either multi-tasking or just not very good at taking orders as I've had a few wrong meal items.

Delicious food! We were a party of 30+ and the food was fantastic as was the service. All the food came with no one hanging on for ages. Everything was fresh and jumping with taste! Will deffo go again!!

Staff are so mesribal and sad, no smile at all, I had lamb Qozi and okra it was so tasteless, rice plain and old They couldn’t give me water as they didn’t have any water, I felt so unwanted and depressed. Never again

No hay palabras en el vocabulario inglés que puedan describir qué tan bien funciona este café: sirviendo comida de excelente sabor rápidamente y a un precio muy asequible. El restaurante / cafetería siempre está limpio, el servicio siempre es bueno, no hay nada que un comensal pueda necesitar que estos muchachos no hagan muy bien - este no es el café medio oriental que sirve comida - estos muchachos en la cocina parecen compañeros y todos trabajan como una unidad en lugar de diferentes personas que trabajan para un cheque de pago. La comida es de excelente calidad fresca y sobre todo muy sabrosa. Aquí no hay ningún problema: ¡entrar, comer y salir! ! ! !

Cálida y amable bienvenida excelente comida, cordero Qaysi con Okra y cordero Bhuna ensalada fresca y dos sopas de lentejas, con un plato de arroz y pan naan, todo por menos de 14 años, increíble valor para una cocina tan hermosa, no puedo creer que aquellos que dieron malas críticas incluso han estado allí, ya que seguramente habrían visto el letrero en el camino al volver a ordenar. Gracias a todo el personal de Sakoon por dos auténticos comensales ocasionales que no tienen mucho que ofrecer.

This place is a hidden gem. It is so under rated! I agree with some people some staff might come across grumpy and not professional but talking in terms of purely food, they are amazing. Be it curries or the kebabs or my favourite lamb quzi! Finger licking tasty food and massive portions too. How does place does no delivery is beyond me but if they did they will definitely be crazy busy. Takes me 20-30 mins to drive there and then another 20-30 mins to drive back to Aintree but it is so worth it! I always order to collect only ate in there couple of timrs.

La primera vez que fui a Liverpool decidí comer ya que estábamos hambrientos. Se sentó la orden en espera de que la comida tenía muy buenos servicios no se quejan. La comida era deliciosa, ya que debería saber que soy un buen cocinero. Especialmente el biryani de pollo era mi favorito.

Used to be a nice place. New waiter is destroying their reputation.I used to be a regular costumer for more than a year but not anymore. You do not want a starter after main course .happened to me three times . Not recommended
