Amazing food as always. Service was great but feels like could be made better with attentiveness and better order taking process. Love the terrace and the setting on a sunny day, can’t wait for it to open indoor.

Booked an inside table, after months of eating outdoors we were looking forward to it, arrived and the staff had moved all seating to outdoors. We were very cold the whole time which affected the experience. The food was ok but overpriced we felt, and a £100 deposit was taken the day prior to us arriving which I wasn’t informed about, asked for a refund to then eventually split the bill. Disappointing!

So - I don't think anyone can deny that the food here is brilliant. Everything including the cocktails were amazing! However, it is the experience that I had an issue with. The waiter rushed us through our meal - We were in and out in 55 minutes or so. And it wasn't like they were super busy. When you eat an expensive meal like this, you would want to enjoy it, but the waiter was at our table every two minutes to ask if we'd finished the dish or not. I was very intrusive. If there is a time limit on how long you have the table, I would rather them tell us when we enter the restaurant than force us out.

We love this restaurant and have been many times. The food is always incredible and the staff have been super friendly and helpful. If you like sushi, then Sake No Hana is a fabulous choice. We'll be back soon, no doubt

Very exciting to be back eating in Sake no Hana for Friday lunch after lockdown. Still amazing, fresh food. The black cod and wagyu bentos we went for were out of this world. The sushi excellent as you would expect and also creative - soft shell crab with mango - don’t mind if so do. Service was smooth and staff friendly. One small thing irked me which is asking if you want water and tea at the beginning. If I’d twigged quicker I was going to be charged £10 I would have likely ordered a different drink. I assumed they were as in Japan, free. My bad I suppose. Not bad enough to detract from an amazing meal.

Everything was great, until we asked for a gluten free option on dessert and then the waitress had a tantrum. Most of the food was really good even if it was overpriced. The prawn nigiri tasted like off fish which was a shame as it looked beautiful. All in all, Sake no Hana is more about location, venue and big price tags and less about good food, good service and authenticity. I would go again but it should be half the price.

We were there on the final day of outside-only dining before rules were relaxed on 17 May. The staff could not have made the experience better. The food (including the miso black cod), as always at Sake No Hana, was excellent and the sake was perfect both in taste and the way it was presented

The restaurant is not equipped for outdoor seating. Freezing cold with no heaters, rain which came through the umbrellas soaking us - especially due to table placement. Extremely wobbly tables and after asking for it to be fixed we got told it would have to be done after the food, so eating was not a pleasant experience. Asked for the bill and it took 15 minutes as the paper was being changed. Heard the table complaining next to us the whole time about how two glasses of wine took over 45 minutes to arrive with only 4 tables occupied in the whole restaurant. General unpleasant demeanour from some of the staff. Outstanding food but unfortunately the experience was disappointing, especially considering this was booked for a special occasion. Will not be returning.

Was extremely cold, they have blankets but for this standard of restaurant you would expect heaters. The ambiance was odd because you could really feel that people were freezing and not enjoying themselves. Food was beautiful, but portions were too small. This will have to be the worse dining experience in my life for what I paid for food, drinks, service, ambience etc. The mains came 25 minutes before sides and starters therefore the mains was consumed before sides i.e. jasmine steamed rice arrived My husband received half of his bento box - he had to wait 15 minutes for his sushi roll and sashimi The miso soups arrived after all good was eat We ordered 2 geisha martinis I could not taste any alcohol whatsoever This booking was for 4 people so we paid £50 each to reserve the table I would not pay more than £15 pp for the experience we had Staff were disorganised and confused Very disgruntled when we asked for blankets EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED I will be making a formal complaint and requesting for a full refund

Amazing. Staff were friendly and accommodating, blankets were available when requested. Food was incredible. I got a Wagyu bento box for £62 which included; miso soup, edamame, sushi roll, sashimi and rice & veg. Incredible deal! Looking forward to returning and trying their full menu.

The food was lovely BUT the meal was really ruined by how cold it was on the terrace. Now of course the restaurant isn’t responsible for the weather BUT I cannot understand how they charge these huge prices without providing any heaters?? Whilst they proudly talk about the terrace on the website there is no mention of the lack of heaters - and it’s totally natural to assume that a really expensive restaurant would have them. When you book they demand a £50pp deposit and whilst they DO warn you about the lack of heaters when they text the day before BUT by that time if we’d cancelled we’d have lost the £200 deposit because it was less than 24 hours before the booking! Despite taking loads of warm clothes it was so so cold. Everyone on the terrace looked frozen and miserable. Also three of us ordered bento boxes and I ordered off the al a carte. Their food arrived much quicker than mine and they had all finished their meal (and were desperate to leave due to the cold!) by the time my main course arrived. When I asked why the waitress said (three times) this was because they come from “different departments”...?! Don’t go unless it’s properly warm outside.

We had been looking forward to visiting due to great experiences previously but we were disappointed with almost all aspects today. Outdoor seating is set up in a square and fairly basic, a few large parasols but lack of partition to block the elements meant we were sitting in a wind tunnel and with 360 tall buildings, little to no sun conditions were freezing on a c. 13degree day. The temperature isn't the problem it's the added wind chill. The restaurant does provide clean blankets for each guest (wrapped in plastic) but these provided little respite from the winds. You are advised that there is no heating prior and to dress accordingly. We went for the Koari menu for lunch, portion sizes were minimal. Sushi selection was 4 sushi roll pieces + 2 slices of sashimi. The wagyu was not upto standard at all and completely disappointing. It was barely warm on arrival (black cod was ok) and consisted of 6 small slices of which majority was fat and not the marbling expected. Saving grace were the desserts and the staff who were attentive and bought out a small birthday dessert. However for over £150 expected more overall therefore unlikely to be revisiting in the future which is unfortunate as we have always recommended this restaurant to friends and family.

Unfortunately, there are no outdoor heaters for the seating area and it became impossible for our guests to remain seated outside and we had to change the lunch to a take out so that our guests could be seated inside our offices. Not ideal and the provision of umbrella heaters would have mitigated this.

Cancel your booking while you can. They asked for your card to hold the table but actually charged you £50 per person on that one card without asking, no matter what you are going to order or who you are with. Dinning outdoor was a SUFFERING. Don’t be fooled by the nice photos of the restaurant online, very basic setting. Not a sun facing seating location, very windy and cold, no heaters available despite charging like a high-end -ish restaurant. There were only around 10 tables and they were already struggling with the service. Because of the cold, we asked for hot water and ordered hot sake. Both needed to be chased at least 3 times. The water took more than half an hour to come and the Sake, the only drink we ordered, didn’t come until we almost finished our main. We had the signature menu, which was a 3 course meal with miso soup. Food tasted ok, gone cold very quickly, the desserts tasted a bit like those from supermarkets. Totally not worth the price.(££££ on open table)

The experience was absolutely lacking. They didn’t bother to invest in heating, just put some tables and umbrellas (why??). They brought us soup only after a reminder, no child seat, water wasn’t offered, had to wait for the cutlery after they have brought food and overall service was nowhere near it should be for this price. Ran away after an hour and will not come back.

Terrace is not on the roof, but in the courtyard by the Economist. Big problem - there are no heaters. This makes it unbearably cold when the temperature goes below 10 degrees, so book accordingly. Service excellent, food still very good, though small portions. Wine list expensive.

The food was absolutely incredible and the service superb. The only nag and this is a tad harsh is that the outdoor atmosphere wasn't 10/10, as it was situated outside the restaurant between office spaces. Quiet and spaced out, and granted the best they could have done with the COVID restrictions, but wasn't quite the atmosphere we'd hoped for. Could not fault the food or service though, we were even handed a comfy blanket and the staff were very friendly and attentive. First time having wagyu and I can't explain how amazing this was!

Food was absolutely lovely and the restaurant is nice overalll, although the outdoor seating area was unheated so a bit chilly. However, I had booked months in advance for my birthday, and 2 days before they called to say they could no longer accommodate my booking at 8.30 pm and could I do another day. They eventually offered me a slot at 5.15, meaning I had to rearrange my plans for my birthday to fit this only 2 days before. The staff were very rude on the phone and not apologetic at all for this mess up!

Very very very overpriced. Very very very very bad food. I got the black cod bento box. Soy sauce was low grade/quality too. Sushi was not fresh. It was very bad. Rice was cold (had to ask for it to be replaced). Miso wasn’t good, hot or fresh. Cod main felt like it had been sitting out all day and warmed up for order (cos it came out suspiciously fast too). Veggies were good but freezing cold. The box they serve the bento is plain silly - sooooo difficult to eat out off. Presentation wasn’t that fantastic either. Overall this overpriced, tasted terrible, very bad Japanese food, would never come here again, wish i could get a refund. Only good thing was the service.

Sat in their outside terrace which had no heating or decoration, it seemed that there was no effort put into making this a nice dinning experience and instead they just put a few tables outside under and umbrella. More like a pub garden than a nice restaurant. Food was very average, we've had much better at other sushi restaurants and expected more. Service was okay, however it took a long time to get served and we had to ask several times before someone came over to us. The sommelier, however, was very polite and helpful.

The service was a bit slow and I got charged twice as the waitress insisted my card hadn’t gone through the first time. Lovely food, but it went cold quickly as we were sat outside without heaters. I would be hesitant to dine again until restrictions allow inside dining.

It was a special birthday lunch, we waited for about 20mins for drinks to be served, the food took over 1hr, it was absolutely freezing on the outdoor terrace, no heaters. The weather was ok, but we were disappointed that we had to takeaway in the end, they didn’t even bring anything at all to the table, no soups or even edamame. Also, we ordered two bento boxes 1 wagyu and 1 black cod, but I discovered after I had left that they added an extra one (salmon bento) to my bill which we didn’t order and we didn’t get basically, then I called to tell them but got through to a lady in reservations saying she can’t get through to them and will send them an email for the manager to contact me. I know it’s the first day they’re opening but everyone was disappointed and the service was appalling, they took ages and didn’t even discount anything, they took the service charge off and the tea, but then charged me £35 extra for a third bento box which we didn’t order or get. Furthermore the food was extremely salty, and we threw away the soups, as well as some other things. Would not recommend! Pointless, overpriced lunch if you ask me. What’s worse is that we had to ask for the takeaway two or three times as it was taking ages. We arrived 12:41 and we left at 13:56 HUNGRY, not having eaten, then when we get to the car we found out the soup was very bad, and other things were untouchable, most of it ended up in the bin. Sorry but not at all what we expected in terms or food quality or service.

The sunken table area is quite cool downstairs but we sat at a normal table. The atmosphere was super off with it being dead quiet with no music. Just an awkward atmosphere. The salmon sashimi was really good, super fresh! I had a rice bowl with steak as my main and it was just okay- it was pretty bland and could’ve done with a sauce, there was just so so much pickled ginger as well, it would’ve been nice to have some other veg. The waitress was amazing, super lovely and she was concerned when we left loads of food at the end but we were just so full!

Lived up to my expectations. Everything was 5 star, from the cocktails, to the food to the service. The decor was incredible and the views epic, but the best thing about this place is its range of Japanese whisky and Sake options. Planning to go back again soon. The only gripes I have are that I was sent the wrong way to the when saying I had a booking at the samba bar by the receptionist. Plus I spoke with someone ahead of my booking and asked for a table rather than a bar seat, but when I got there they gave me the bar seat. However it was quickly remedied. These issues were minor in comparison to the great service I received while sitting down.
