I came in for a cup of tea and a sandwich with my daughter and her husband while shopping earlier in the week. We were served by a small red headed waitress who was snappy and unpleasant. No one came to the table to ask if everything was okay. The cutlery and surrounding tables were not the cleanest but the food was nice. Looked like the waitress’s slacked and couldn’t be bothered for good customer service. We all agreed we wouldn’t be coming back. Maureen

25 min wait for a cold breakfast. Not only that I asked for an extra slice of toast to replace mushrooms and Tomato which I never got. No one came to ask if everything was ok. Made a complaint via twitter and all I got was we will pass this through to manager. Absolute disgrace. Won’t be going back.

Stopped here for a cup of tea and a snack. My salted caramel cake was very sweet and my husband's toastie took a very long time to materialise especially as the café was not busy. Other supermarkets do this much better so I rate this as only just OK.

When staying in a nearby hotel we always choose Sainsburys Cafe for breakfast. The prices are good and you can choose items to suit your needs ie Porridge and Toast. Eggs and Bacon only etc. the prices are reasonable and you only choose what you want yo eat rather than a full breakfast and leave an item or two.

Me and a couple work mates went here for our dinner we waited almost half an hour and it was vile, it was extremely greasy, sausages were like rubber, eggs were harder than bacon, bacon barely cooked and tasteless, the only eatable thing on the plate was the beans and there was far too many, im suprised they have any customers at all we all feel sick just minutes after leaving would definitely not recomend this pitifull excuse for food i would even feed it for my dog it was a horrible breakfast floating on a plate of grease

Access for wheelchairs by lift at back of store. Visited for lunch on Saturday at 2.15 but most main meal options were off the menu or sold out - really disappointing. Only 3 jacket potatoes left for 4 of us and no plans to cook more. When it's gone, it's gone!! However, service staff very friendly and apologetic when one of our meals arrived much later than the others.

I wasn't hungry but myself and my friend decided to share a pie and mash (share the calories) and I have to say, it was really really nice. The staff are a little slow and it wouldn't hurt for them to smile a bit more but I don't think I have had a bad word really to say (apart from the odd negative comment in the above). It was bedlam here during the school holidays, with parents using the cafe as a creche. Tough on those like us who wanted a meal in reasonable surroundings. Two children played chasey round our table, annoying and dangerous with staff carrying hot food. Service was slow with one bored girl trying to cope. No-one appeared to be in charge. I suggest a dedicated children's area with parents required to keep their children seated. Our salad came in a plastic box!

Normally, not a fan of Supermarket Cafes, but this one is V Good. Coffees are as good as in specialist Coffee shops, but much cheaper, and food is really good. Puzzles me, though, why they advertise food that they have sold out of, surely easy enough to pull the poster out of the board. Why not send a staff member into the main shop, to get more, rather than advertise a product they have not got. Recently we saw teacakes reduced, when you buy a hot drink, but were told, sorry we have sold out. In the main shop, we bought some, reduced, due to their sell by date, for home. Why not use them in the café? But all in all, a nice place to enjoy a coffee, whilst looking down o the shoppers, & having a lift & trolley park, makes it easier for us.

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.
