Sainsbury's Café in Scarborough

We had 1hr to spare, so popped up for coffees & toasties! There were several staff there but we waited 3/4 hour & had to go so we couldn't get our lovely lunch ! Several of us were waiting this time as your staff seemed unable to make a coffee or hot chocolate ,What a state.I hope the other people complain .Not recommended

awful experience with a staff member. made me feel very upset and unwelcome.

Been in for a quick lunch. Service slow at the counter. Ordered quiche salad and chips the chips were inedible. For sure they were yesterdays just warmed up. And cold salad came on a red hot plate. Hot lettuce not for me VERY DISAPPOINTED and a waste of my money. I hope that someone from Sainsbury's reads these reviews. Won't be going back. Seems like the reviews are mainly negative. Come on chefs cook some decent food.

Come for breakfast at least once a week after work. Bitesize breakfast is just enough The young man who regularly serves me is always cheery and has the patience of a saint.

Oh dear... this place just seems to get worse. Breakfast consisted of cold beans toast no butter, rubber fried egg. Ridiculous counter service where person who takes orders makes drinks, hence queue even when quiet. Cutlery station filthy. They have reduced table options by putting in low coffee style tables and chairs, unsuitable for eating meals. Come on Sainsbury's you can do better.

Food cold and didn't look fresh cappuccino was hotter than food and I got that way before my breakfast

Called in this morning for a coffee & a cooked breakfast before meeting friends. Still quite at just half past eight in the morning but obviously popular for meeting up for coffee etc. Clean & tidy, plenty if selection for food & drinks. Don't feel rushed either.

Ordered 2 breakfasts. Toast dripping with melted butter. Bacon and sausages looked barely cooked.Bacon was very fatty, but hard. Couldn't cut it. Hash browns were cold and greasy. Tables were very wobbly. Safe to say won't be eating there again. On plus side the coffee was very nice.

Ordered 2 all day breakfasts and had to wait 10 minutes for cutlery to be brought out, by that time my food was cold. Ordered a peach iced tea it was syrup and water with Ice. No tea what so ever. Overall very disappointing

Food was ok but it took 45 minutes to arrive, by which point the hot drinks we had purchased when ordering were cold. I mentioned how long it had taken to the lady that brought it over to which she shrugged and said it is what it is. Not the best service!

The food was nice. just a shame about the cleanliness. the plug socket on the table that was easily accessible to clean was dirty! I dread to think what some other areas are like.

Waited 10 mins for a cup of tea, tables full of dirty plates and filthy, no urgency with staff who looked grumpy and fed up, no food choice, used to be a good cafe but now the worst in Scarborough, terrible.

Called here for lunch an hour ago. Ordered a baked potato with cheese and side salad. The potato was barely warm , the cheese was the packet ready grated ( cheap ) cheese and there aren't many words to describe the alleged side salad. Just limp dry lettuce and I think a piece of rocket. Overall disgusting. I hardly ate any. You need to get your act together sainsbury! Shame I can't post the pic I took.

The breakfasts here are delicious, probably best I’ve ever had. Hot chocolate is always yummy too. Coffee not quit hot enough though.

Food was good when it finally arrived,had to wait nearly an hour because of staff shortages I have to ask is this a symptom of staff cuts and minimum wages

Waited an hour for food they only sent one breakfast and it was wrong the women made out that's all I ordered when I was sat with my partern and little boy with no food for them, in the end had too leave as had work, they offered too send another breakfast they said it would be straight out and it wasn't so we walked out loads of other people were complaining to about there wait and wrong food , I can't see how too add a picture of how bad the food looked today and the toast was black

Staff carry themselves as-if they don’t have the will to live, bad attitude at the counter and make you feel like a burden. Other than that breakfast are quite all right

Great breakfast good for the price..

Unfortunately it’s gone really downhill here. The hot chocolate didn’t have any milk and so much powder used that it was undrinkable - not worth £2.20! The bread was also stale. The staff are not trained enough and I often see them struggling to use the till system and make drinks etc. The staff are perfectly pleasant and it’s not their fault but I wouldn’t recommend this café to anyone really. I hope sainsburys sort this out! 😞

Totally over stretched staff Ques far too long . Fish chips n peas +Breakfast with a bowl of chips . Fish was awfull I've never seen cod like it chips virtually uncooked peas resembled part tinned part frozen n kept too long . Breakfast for my wife was COLD bacon like leather n again virtually uncooked chips . Over all the worst meal we've had ever ! If ever I consider eating here again I hope someone talks me out of it ..

Breakfast at the cafe was enjoyable and good value for money. Lovely cup of tea. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend it. Veggie breakfast £4. Bacon baguette £3. Tea £1.20.

Great place for a relatively cheap lunch, snack or cup of tea. Plenty of places to sit. Free access to newspapers

Lack of savoury snacks available I.e. sausage rolls, toast, hot sandwiches etc. Very noisy, probably due to building structure. Pretty poor on the whole & staff not very welcoming
