Sainsbury's under improvement work and although a bit chaotic the staff are very helpful ..The young man Aaron was extremely helpful on the bread section today he went out of his way to find the only bread I can eat which I was so grateful for This is the Arnison centre branch ..thank you guys

My Wife and I had a full English breakfast each, and it was very good, food was hot and served to our table within 5 mins. For the money we paid it was fantastic, only downside was there was a children's holiday club in part of the restaurant, and it became extremely noisy, but we will be going back as we are both back in Durham today. Looking forward to a relatively cheap but very good and filling breakfast.

….. plus miserable and inattentive service summed up our experience of Sainsburys cafe today. Small portions and overpriced means we won’t be using it again. Only went as we’d been shopping in the area.

After a previous unpleasant experience here, I decided to give it another try. As Albert Einstein famously said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Unfortunately, I fell into that trap. In reality, the food is even worse than school dinners; it's uninspiring. Captain Birdeye's might want his battered fish back because not only is it clearly frozen fish, but the portion size isn't suitable for adults. I left the café still feeling hungry.

OK so I bought jacket potatoe with cheese and beans served with side salad . If it wasn't for the mound of lettuce leaves I would have had no filling for potatoe the cheese was about 6 grated strands and the beans about a teaspoon full . Won't be back

Visited the Durham Arnison cafe this morning for breakfast and the eggs on all 3 meals were not cooked and had uncooked egg white and yolks. So we sent them back. It was obvious the cook chose to just microwave the breakfasts we sent back as they returned looking the same and disgusting. We could not eat them and sent them back again and left.

Called today whilst in the area and decided to try the full cooked breakfast. Couldn’t fault the food for the price paid. Everything cooked as expected and certainly value for money. Wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again

Please please stop trying to force people into using self service tills. We don't want them. It's getting worse every time I go. Tesco will be getting my money if this does not stop

Every time we come here and order coffee with our food, they forget our drinks and we always have to chase them up.

Called in for a few groceries and decided to call up to the cafe for breakfast. Service was good, food came out quickly and was really nice sausages are lovely! The only issue is once we were home we noticed we'd been double charged for a drink and on one breakfast we'd asked for extra bacon and were double charged for that aswell. Would go back again but will def check the receipt next time =p

Went to do our shopping but decided to go for something to eat first, we decided to get fish and chips with mushy peas and 2 Lattes, this came too just under £15,we have eaten at other Sainsbury's and decided to get our Lattes when we received our food as you will have to wait 10 minutes for your food. Overall we enjoyed the food and drink, will be back next week.

We decided to have breakfast in the Sainsbury's Cafe area - makes a difference to Macky D's over the road or the Dunelm Ridge down the road. There are other outlets nearby (Subway, F&B's etc) providing a breakfast alternative but we thought we'd give this one a try. First impressions were good I must say. Staff smart, efficient and friendly. Service area clean and tidy plus well presented. Tables well spaced and clean. Alternative seating configurations available. Area bright and cheerful. The menu choice was varied but we were left a little disappointed with the value. I'm pretty anal on this point and felt that all things considered, we'd overpaid by about 25%. A family of 3 paying nearly £20 for 2 main breakfasts, one child's breakfast plus drinks. Don't get me wrong, the pricing was clear so there were no surprises and the food was served promptly to our table but I felt the quantity and quality of food was lacking a little. Still we gave it a try but will not be going back for breakfast again.

Great place to sit down and relax after shopping. Friendly staff, clean tables and comfy sofas. Hot chocolate with whipped cream - what more could you ask for on a cold evening!

We have had fish and chips here and it is cooked fresh and so it is hot. The soups are yummie and filling. Two choices, one being vegetarian Whatever we have had we have enjoyed. I wondered whether or not to order a soup I had never tried and the young lad behind the counter brought me a " taster " in a small bowl without me even asking. I didn't like it and he said it was a good job he had given me a choice, and laughed about it. Great staff. Not posh at all, but clean and good choice to have a proper meal or a packet of crisps ! Just a tea or coffee will do.

This cafe offers decent meals at reasonable prices, some comfortable seating and newspapers to browse over a cup of tea or coffee. All in all a pleasant place to take a break while shopping at the Arnison Centre.

This cafe is probably one of the better supermarket cafes I've ever been in; nice and spacious with plenty of fairly comfortable seating, nice to sit at one of the dozens of seats by the window. Price is average for supermarket cafes, taste & quantity maybe slightly better but not by huge amounts.

This pub is ok when they actually have food on they advertise a carvery till 8 we turned up at 5.30 it was our 35 wedding anniversary and we wanted to go out for a special dinner we were going to have all three courses and a few drinks only to be told they didn’t have any carvery left really bad management to run out of food two and a half hours before closing we ended off coming home and our special meal was beans on toast it’s a ok pub for a quick meal but don’t go there for any special occasion they will just let you down

Cheap, really nice Sam Smith's pints! Can easily get a round for three under £10 which is a rarity nowadays

Discussed pint Guinness gone upto £5.90 a pint, said to staff, cost gone down and owner has put up Guinnes to a very high price, even the staff agreed really hike up price, they too thought it was pure greed. Will not use this pub again.

Ordered BBQ chicken loaded fries and was served frozen chips not fries with frozen strips of chicken covered with cheese and a squirt of BBQ sauce. Husband had pie of the day, said the pie was nice but the gravy was lumpy and too thick won’t be going back there again

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.
