Sainsbury's in Welwyn Hatfield

Eat here from time to time and never out of choice but out of necessity. Service incredibly slow even when there are only one or two customers. Staff don't appear to have been trained at all well in either service or food hygiene.

After the 3rd time of being told menu choice "Not available today" I now only use Sainsbury cafe for the loos, and eat elsewhere in town.

This is a large supermarket and I have seldom seen it busy. If you plan to go upstairs, be sure to use the lift rather than the long travelators that insist on telling you to push your trolley off the escalator even if you don't have a trolley.The cafe is nothing to write home about - it's plain and simple, okay for a coffee and a sandwich when you're in a hurry.

Plenty of choice in this large store. Has a food section and clothes, Argos, household upstairs. Annoying escalator which talks to you. Good parking.

Food is nice, can be a bit overpriced for what it is,£2.75 for tomato and basil soup not including the roll. Customer service behind the till is not great, quite slow, however Atimu, who brought us our food was lovely.

Met a friend for coffee and although we were fourth in the queue we must have waited about 20 minutes to be served. Coffee and cake were ok but Sainsbury’s really need someone running the cafe who is more efficient. Needless to say the cafe was almost empty which is such a shame as it’s an ideal place to meet.

The food is OK, the service is poor the prices are high-ish for what it is. Not a bad choice of menu.

Normalmente comería aquí. Pero mi hija necesitaba para comer y la comida era buena I. en las fotos. Mi primera opción no estaba disponible, así que me fui para mi segunda. Los huevos estaban más preparados, así que el resto. Me sentía apenado por mi hija como ella estaba hambriento y su comida era terrible. Traté de ella y no podía hacerla comer algo que no toque. Acabé yendo a una cafetería de enfrente que era mucho mejor.

by the time you reach the escalators and reach the top and walk further on, its a bit of a trek. quite a walk until you even reach anything to buy but its spacious and clean. the cafe could be so much better but they do not keep it clean. its always dirty. tables are always dirty. and its very very slow. suggest you dont eat cooked foood as what i have had has always been below par. cheap cup of tea though and very spacious. need to speed up a bit in cafe service though. maybe two staff at busy times. more than once a group of us has walked away due to slooooow service.

I ordered the brunch Bacon that had been cooked hours earlier 1 egg runny the other harder than the plate All thrown on a plate Awful!

Kein kulinarischer Höhenflug, aber gut geeignet, um sich vom Shopping zu erholen (oder für das Shopping zu stärken). Sehr günstige Preise und ein freundlicher, aber gelegentlich etwas orientierungsloser Service.

This is a very handy restaurant in the Sainsburys supermarket in Welwyn Garden City centre that sell reasonable food and drink at reasonable prices. I would recommend it to you if you are looking for value for money.

Picked up a few items at affordable prices. Would definitely recommend a visit. Good parking and walking distance to the town centre.

we eat here from time to time if the kids are fed up of shopping and were running late. Food is always reasonably priced and nice. The service is a bit slow. Would eat here again.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Very cheap, I had veggie chilli jacket potato. Was nice and hot, tasty lunch. Man on the till let the whole cafe down. Very slow, had to go out to kitchen to check they had jacket potatoes, came back, asked for veg chilli, went back to kitchen to check they had this! It's a supermarket? He was tidying up the cakes etc whilst 6 people were queuing up. Poor customer service from him (Peter). Young man fetching food out was very helpful and pleasant

Among few alternatives in the town to stop and have a brunch-style meal, this is a popular possibility. A little out-on-a-limb, bit's made most easy to reach by good parking.

The WGC Sainsburys is n the centre of town making it very convenient if you need to pop to another shop a the same time. There is plenty of indoor parking which us great in bad weather.

Eaten at Sainsburys a number of times. With friends, with family and on my own. Good value meals and friendly staff. Usually speedy service.

When in the town centre and you suddenly find wanting to have a meal - this is the place. Good food - you know it is fresh. At times one staff member behind the counter has to attend to many clients and one feel sorry for the person,.

Long queues at lunch time and food ok at best. Plenty of higher standard places for food and drink in Welwyn Garden City.

Visited this mid morning a young gentleman served us very pleasant placed our order . Easily found somewhere to sit plenty of highchairs. When teacake was brought over by a lady member of staff she took the time to talk to the baby who was trying to get her attention, a nice touch friendly polite staff, reasonably priced, just handy to pop into.

Facilities are good as this is a reasonably new store, toilets are clean and the baby change area is great. Unfortunately that is where all the positives end. The service queue to order food is usually long as on the couple of occasions I have been here the poor staff are new and left out front alone to cope with disgruntled customers whist more senior staff are somewhere out of sight. So the person on the till is alone and struggling with learning the menu, where the food and equipment is, as well as the technology. On both times I was there the frontline staff meant well and were trying their best but it left an impression of very substandard management. Then comes the food, well, my advice would be not to bother and if you must come here just get a drink. Sorry Sainsburys, you really could (and should) do better in WGC.
