Never again dog barking bringing main course before we had finished our starter l took my grandchildren for a treat but we won't be going again

What can I say about the first and so far only time I went to eat the sirloin steak. I got it and it was terrible. Good choice of beers. Nice place both outside right on the river bank and inside. Averagely dirty tables.

Nice pub, ok prices and food generally decent. Chicken platter excellent value and good offers like bogof on burgers during the week

Had a party of 14 on the first of May. The food was lovely. I had the lasagne and it was delicious. It came very quickly and everybody had no complaints! The service, staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend !

My husband and daughter took me for a birthday meal. We got a seat no problem and got served straight away. We ordered 2 steaks and a Hunters chicken and drinks. We waited about 20 mins for the food to arrive. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and my husbands well done. I couldn't eat my steak as it was burnt to a crisp and all I could taste was charcoal. My husbands wasn't any better to be honest. I did complain and they brought me another steak and although it was better it just tasted of pepper corns. My daughters chicken was very dry, so she left half of it. I don't know what's happened but the food has gone really downhill.

We sat outside for drinks. It was a lovely area. Only went in for drinks so can't comment on the food but it was busy so guess it's got a good reputation. Atmosphere was marred by some chavvy people who'd had a bit too much to drink for a relaxing Sunday afternoon chill in the sun. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Walked into the pub, didn’t get a hello or anything waited at the bar for 5 minutes had 2 different members of staff just walk past me and look, I wish they would of just said one moment please and I’d of been happy for been acknowledged and happily waited not even a polite smile After 5 minutes I went back to my partner and left the pub! Used to come here regularly but has really gone down hill past few months!!

Sailmakers – A Tasty Experience with Room for Improvement** Visited Sailmakers on Saturday around 5pm with Mum and my sister, and overall, it was a great dining experience. I ordered the XL Mix Grill, and I have to say, everything was cooked brilliantly. The standout for me? The thick gammon steak —perfectly done—and the chicken, which was impressively juicy rather than dry. The sizzling plate added a nice touch to the presentation, making the meal feel extra satisfying. Highly recommend it! 👌 For dessert, I opted for the **Chocolate Fudge Cake**—advertised as warm, but unfortunately, it wasn’t, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, it was still enjoyable. Areas for Improvement One downside was the app experience while the menu states you can add extra items to your meal, the app didn’t allow me to add options like Peppercorn Sauce or other extras, which was slightly frustrating. Additionally, the outdoor seating area has so much potential, especially with its ocean view at St Andrews Quay. Some improvements could really elevate the atmosphere and make it a fantastic spot for diners looking to enjoy the scenery. All in all, a great meal with a few areas that could be refined to make the experience even better!

A great selection to choose from I keep going back to get something else and haven’t been disappointed yet and they do slushies which is always a huge plus.

Popped in today first time in around 20yrs, what lovely staff, I went with my daughter and grandson he was a little moody from just waking up they made him smile and laugh and the young lady from behind the bar with platted blonde hair was extremely lovely (sorry didnt catch her name) and got him a bowl of strawberries as he is dairy free after originally offering him some chocolate its just the little things in life which are noticed and go a very long way so thank you we will be back. Food was also served quick and fresh.

Firstly, the staff are absolutely lovely! The first place we've been where the staff are happy to be there and help! The atmosphere was great, it was the perfect level of busy, environment was clean and tidy. Food was delicious, the gluten free nachos were delicious! The only thing I’d like to see more of is a bigger gluten free selection. But the staff were aware of allergies and I felt safe eating there.

We ordered 2 sirloin steaks as they were on promotion. The down side was we didn't see that they had cracked pepper on them my wife could eat hers there was absolutely loads of pepper on it .Too which got replaced I myself was keen but I was so hungry I ate 3/4 of it . I really don't know what the obsession with pepper is but when you meal is coated in it you don't get the benefit of a nice meal as all you taste is pepper. But they do get a bonus point for selling Lilley's cider mango flavour as it's one of a large range Lilley's do that are really easy on the pallet

Ordered via app, drink arrived very quickly and food within 10mins. Food very good, my only complaint is they need to fix the coffee machine !

I come and work from this pub one afternoon a week with some colleagues so we keep a social connection and honestly it’s been amazing which is why we come back every week. Lauren has been a stand out star and I’d rate her 5 alone, she’s always sorted anything and even lets us know where is quiet etc. The foods always been nice, as a vegetarian a lot of places serve very little during the day but the menu changes seasonally which is nice too. Nice views out onto the Humber too and a great place to sit out in summer!

Great place with a view across the Humber but the food was seriously mediocre. The sundae pudding was an absolute disappointment. Definitely sounded better on paper. The HOT chocolate fudge cake was actually cold too. Half the puddings were unavailable also. Not great at all.

Lovely staff but the place it's self needs a makeover very drab and miserable food not so good either the only good thing it has going for it is the staff give them a nice environment a new menu and the the place will be a hit

Lovely food and reasonably priced. I had the chicken burger with spicy sausage and nacho cheese which was delicious! The mixed grill was fab too, came on a sizzling plate and cooked to perfection. Will definitely return!

Food was so nice the menu is so bad for you but they did make a fantastic burger. Would recommend. The toilets wasnt the cleanest and there was kids running round all over the place screaming like they do. I would recommend the staff were very good and polite lovely people

My favourite place for beef steak

I recently visited The Sailmakers in Hull and was thoroughly disappointed with the customer service. When we arrived, we unknowingly sat at a reserved table, as there were no clear signs indicating this. Instead of politely informing us, a staff member addressed us in an unprofessional and dismissive manner, making us feel unwelcome. This set a negative tone for the rest of our visit. Throughout our time there, the overall service remained poor, with staff showing little interest in making the experience enjoyable. It’s a shame, as the pub itself has a lot of character, but the lack of basic hospitality let it down. I hope the management takes steps to improve their approach to customer service.

Popped in 8/2/25 at 10am for a coffee. Served by a really lovely, warm friendly lady who was really kind to my son. Not enough people like this work in customer services anymore so wanted to highlight this!

To say that I am appalled would be an understatement ! Me and my friend had come in for something to eat this is what they had provided regardless of their warm welcome the food was tasteless and the portion sizes for what we paid is absolutely a word just as you can see in the picture and in my opinion management should not be sat down at a table eating in front of customers and most of the staff don't really have much of a cheerful disposition it's like they don't want to be there! My apologies if this offends anybody but I say what I see the likelihood of me returning is a noooooooooo

A group of us went to celebrate a birthday. It was on a Sunday and busy. We could hardly hear each other speak but that was to be expected. I ordered a rump steak. The portion was abysmal and came at a price £3 above that advertised on menu. I had been there before but my wife and I shall not be returning.

This must be our 3rd or 4th visit and every time we have been the food has been absolutely amazing and the staff always friendly. My daughter gave her double burger a 10 out 10 unfortunately we can't rate 10 stars but would if we could. We also came on on 23rd of December a 12pm 10 of us and the service for right on top of Christmas was flawless.we ordered several chick n mix and we couldn't fault any of it. We will be back again.

Like this pub been a couple of times when going shopping. Food is good value, something for everyone, and a nice view over the Humber. The only concern is general cleanliness. Tables and menus are a bit dirty and sticky, knifes and forks and glasses a bit gross and really need to be renewed, or at least thoroughly washed. But, do like the place - try a bit harder with the cleaning and it would be 5 stars 😂

Been today for our Christmas dinner the food was excellent with big portions and well cooked. The staff were very good and polite all in all would recommend them to anyone for Christmas meals

Great food, nice spacious dining room and really friendly staff. The food is consistently good too. We often have family events here because it has more room for a bigger group. There’s a kids play area too and on a sunny day the outside area is lovely, just maybe stay inside when it’s windy LOL.

They have an indoor play area for kitda up to 7year old. So you can eat wile they play and you can eat in front of it controlling what the kids are doing

Welcoming and friendly staff, presentation of the food was amazing, good portion sizes and quick service for food. I had 3 courses and a drink within an hour. One of the best local pubs around.

Food was very tasty! The staff appeared miserable, never seen them before, a smile wouldn't go a miss. A 5🌟 goes to Stacey who waited on us and looked after us this afternoon!!

First time coming here, didn't disappoint. Food was great, fantastic service. Would definitely recommend coming here.

Even so our order was wrong and put me off food they offered to replace it and when I said I lost appetite they gave us refund even so they didn’t have to. We went back in following week and food was spot on! Just to show when mistakes happen they are great with making it all better. See you soon!

The Sailmakers is a nice spot with a great eatery, though it might not be everyone’s style. That said, the bar staff are superb—friendly and attentive—and the service is impressively fast. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after efficiency and good hospitality!

Steak done correctly but salad was like 3/4 days old, terrible. Strips load chips really good. Nice place for lunch and pint.

Came today with my mam and my niece and her husband and two children my mam had the turkey roast it was very dried up and the turkey was disgusting looked like it had come out of a packet my niece’s husband had the beef and it was more fat that meat not that good at all the kids meals was ok I myself had the gammon it wasn’t bad but had better and my niece had the fish she didn’t enjoy that at all the fish was not nice white chunky fish there was a lot of black on it not nice at all

Ordered beef dinner the beef was hard to cut and chew the stuffing was that overcooked when I tried to cut it it broke into bits, the music coming out of the kitchen was so loud we couldn't here each other speak, two members of staff walked by us and one said I can't be doing with all the Karen's today

The only go to place in Hull for great food and fast service

We went to The Deep in Hull and wanted a pub nearby that had a play area...and found The Sailmakers ...we had a great time it was very busy but Theresa went above and beyond to accommodate us such a lovely friendly lady ...but to be fair all the staff very lovely ...even after my granddaughter had a mouth full of the hottest sauce ever she said :) ...he brought her a glass of milk ...even though she loves hot spices and was warned it was hot 🥵 all in all a great place family friendly excellent staff its a definite 10 from the Cowen family xx

Absolutely fantastic service, couldn’t be more attentive to our daughter’s 7th birthday. It’s her favourite place to eat, food amazing as always as is the service. A🌟

Initially entering the room was pleasant and dtaff were inviting, after sat its like all care was lost, starters were amazing and the tall lady who served them was extremely pleasant and polite, the young lady behind the bar with tattoos was very helpful and pleasant and helpful, however the server woth the mullet eating food while speaking to colleagues infront of customers and not washing his hand after, having his hands in his pockets also on his phone a considerable amount of times, also chewing gum. To the tall lad who had curtain hair was rude when i questioned my order not having an extra patty, he looked at my food and said all good, his lack of care must of been due to him finishing his shift shortly after, he was also chewing gum. The young lady behind the bar and the tall lady serving hold the place up without a doubt.

Have eaten here many times and it’s always been good quick food. Yes what you expect from a chain pub. Went Saturday 26th October 24 and had a good meal. Decided on a treat and ordered the biscoff cheesecake. It was without doubt the worst cheesecake I have ever tried! I told a girl serving that it wasn’t good. Her reply was “ that’s what it’s like my love “! I said the texture was dry and powdery, she said yes that’s what it’s like MY LOVE! I felt her to be very patronising and it totally ruined the night! I asked for a refund which she gave after consulting her manager, which was good. The staff there have always been polite and friendly, but not today.

Welcoming family eaterie. Food was lovely. Although it's a family pub, the amount of small kiddies, running around unsupervised surprised me. I saw one child (around table height) run into a table corner. Ant taller, he'd have had his eye out. Parents and staff .... children running around like this, isn't good. Yes bring them, but keep your eye on them. Staff, advise parents on lack of safety with kids careering around .... outside the 'play area'

Excellent visit and enjoyed the food. Only disappointment was there was no fish available but had the scampi instead. Overall a nice place to eat and at a reasonable price.

We have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. We 9nce rangbto check they were serving something specific (the steak fondue-it was amazing-we miss it!) as my son wanted it for his birthday tea. When we arrived they wished him happy birthday and had ringfenced us one so they didn't run out before we got there. We went again tonight. As always the staff were brilliant- cheery, friendly and efficient. Food arrived very quickly and was absolutely delicious. I had the steak flatbread which was loaded for the price and very tasty. With the Blue Light discount it was cheaper than most last food places and 100 times nicer. We will be back next time.we are that side of the bridge.

Great place for food and drink I have to say I had the chicken rib combo and the ribs were a little lacking on meat ive had better. The duty manager was great she even threw in free desserts fot the kids in our party. Thank you

Load of rubbish packet mash that was like sloppy baby food Wasn't interested if complained about it is cheap microwave food that they can't even get that right turkey was that rubbery and hard been there all week Never again would I go in there Wasn't the first one to complain that day need a manger that takes pride in the job and would not send food out like that disgusting

Lovely pub. I've been coming since I was young. Always come with my dad and now I come with my children. Food is always good. My little girl didn't like her food so they brought her extra nuggets out free of charge. Would recommend 😄

We had a fantastic meal tonight. The pork schnitzel was fantastic and delicious. Just the way I can remember from my mum like a german schnitzel should be. My partner had a burger which was delicious too. We never had a good meal there.

Staff were lovely and the food was great!

Dirty, rundown. No means of making hot drinks. No scampi. I had a pie which contained nothing but brown goo, my wife had gammon with a very anaemic undercooked fried egg on top. Last time we eat in a Greene King pub.

Not been here in years, in area so thought we would try again Ordered chicken tikka flat bread, drizzle of yoghurt according to menu Flat bread covered in yoghurt, that much dripping off, chicken cold and thigh meat barely warm Very poor, never asked how my leal was otherwise would have given verbal feedback, must have known with how much left

Been 3 times the it takes me 25 mins to walk there as I don't have a car and the last 3 times I have had nothing as they say we haven't any left basically I always go for ribeye because that's what I like I don't want it on cheaper steak days I just a lovely ribeye I will not be going ever again it's such a shame as in the past it's been beautiful what as change I don't know but they need to put it back as it was so disappointed as it was our anniversary 😞

Came for mums birthday and first Sunday roast we’ve had here and it was tremendous, service was quick as was the food being served. Staff were lovely will be coming back again!

Great value for money, especially for families needing somewhere to stop off with kids on a day out. Huge place with a large car park.

Had a nice pub meal here quite a unique location overlooking the Humber. Very handy if you looking around the large retailers nearby.

Good food and choice late afternoon

Very impressed with food & menu for a chain restaurant/pub good menu mix and outside dog area, only fault is shame not a covered/canopy area to eat with a dog if its raining. But worthy of your custom.

Visited The Deep yesterday for a day out, searched for the nearest Greene and King pub for a nice meal rather than eating in The Deep and found this one was only 3 mile away so dropped in around 1pm, tables were available, quick service at the bar and then used app to order food, came quickly, food was brilliant and even little one who is fussy and doesn't always eat his meals made a good dent in his sausage and chips, will definitely come here again when we visit The Deep again
