After seeing Jai Durga was closed (which was our first choice), we thought we'd give Sagar a try for the first time. We wish we hadn't and would never return. We ordered 6 dishes: chilli paneer, Pav bhaji, pani puri, sev puri, masala dosa, and bhel. Not a single dish was fresh and it was tasteless and dry. When we asked the waiter if it was fresh, he replied that it was. We said the food was also extremely dry, to which he replied "that's how the chef makes it". How can a so called Indian place get it all so wrong with taste? The bhel was stale, and the sev was clunky and stuck together. Everything was dry and had no taste. Would not recommend this place to anyone wanting good Indian food.

Vegan of vegetarisch?

Loved it, we came late at night having not eaten for ages and looking for something quick to take to our Airbnb, Krishna the manager couldn't do enough for us, the food was great quality and vibe was lovely. Definitely check it out!

Went here for dinner with family recently, and had a great time! The food tasted great and was reasonably priced. The service was pleasant, although took a little longer that I would've liked - thankfully our server came to tell us that things would take longer, so the kind gesture was nice. However, it is concerning that it seems to be hit and miss, given the other responses on this site. From my experience, I'd recommend it though!

Another few visits to sagar and again great experience! Delicious onion rava Masala, idli and vada. Food in the restaurant is batter than equivalent in South India! Food is so inexpensive that I have started talking some dishes for my partner.

In three weeks we have eaten here four times. I'm not even vegetarian! This vegetarian restaurant is excellent. The food is very fresh and very tasty. Three of us had mains and shared a bottle of wine for under £30! I was in shock at how low the bill came to. Thoroughly recommend sagar.

I went with my family to Sagar after having heard good reviews about it and I have to say I was not disappointed. Although the service could've been better the food was just absolutely amazing and tasty and reasonably priced. I would most definitely go back again.

I visited on a Saturday night with my parents and we had a lovely meal. Food was really tasty and fresh. Waiters were happy to answer questions about the menu to help us choose. We weren't rushed during our meal, even though they were turning people away at the door (worth booking a table).Food is very good value, especially the thali (a selection of small dishes with rice and chapatti). I haven't eaten at a South Indian restaurant before, so others may disagree, but I felt the menu was interesting and offered lots of choice.I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.

We went out with some friends to Sagar in North Harrow .The service started with a very lukewarm response from the staff. Our starters came within 4 to 5 min of our order which was the fastest in any Resturant we have been.Pre cooked meals were heated and served. When we spoke to the manager about this he sort of agreed that the onion bhajiyas were pre cooked very early. All the different food we ordered was very poor standard and served in a very unappetising way.The ambience of the place was very dreary .We ordered dosas as the chef was from south india ...and even The dosas were quite unappealing. It was such a waste of our Friday evening. There was no apology from the manager. We would never go back again and def not recommend it to others too.

My first impression as I walked through the door was, how dirty the floor was and the seating upholstery was stained. We did stay and eat though as I was with family didn't want to make a scene. I'm sure if I was with friends I would have just gone elsewhere.Staff are friendly. Food ok. The portion of bhajias was poor for the price they charge. Can cater for large groups.

I'm not usually someone who visits a vegetarian restaurant, however this place is a gem! The interior is clean, well lit and really nice considering where the restaurant is! For starters we ordered chilli paneer, mogo chips and sev puri- all flavoured really well and moreish! My only issue was that the chilli paneer portion was quite small! For mains we had a paneer dosa and a mixed uthappam - I'd never tried an uthappam before but it was really tasty and as the description says it is similar to a pizza but made from lentils! I would definitely eat here again! It is fantastic value for money and has a really comfortable atmosphere - mixture of friends, families and couples dining here. You must try this place! :)

We were recommended to visit Sagar Vegetarian Restaurant in Harrow by a friend. On the web site when we rread that "The team at Sagar Vegetarian Restaurants look forward to meeting you at our restaurants and would like to wish you the warmest of welcomes" we decided to visit for a lunch. We were disappointed for the following reasons:-1: we ordered samosas but were served pakoras which did not have "crispy batter"2: medu vada were a little greasy and served with chutneys in the smallest stainless steel bowls or pots ever seen in a South Indian restaurant making it difficult to dip medu vada's or Samosa/Pakora3: north Indian thali with a single chapti did not seem right4: plain dosa was crispy and light as expected5: This was not the South Indian restaurant we had been recommended where the waiters seemed bored as instead of checking with the guests they were talking amongst themselves.Since the visit we tried to talk to a manager but he has been unavailable.

Booked a table for 5 for a family meal. We were 15 min late but called the Restaurant & advised them. On arrival we were greeted with extreme unprofessionalism by the bald headed Manager, who in spite of us apologising for the delay kept arguing that we were late. We informed him that we had called & advised of this & were told that it was OK. Instead of listening to us he stood us in the middle of the restaurant & went on about us being late. We asked him why if this was such a problem he had not told us when we called to advise that we were running a bit late. He replied that it wasn't him that had taken the call. We were contemplating on going elsewhere but stayed on as by the end of this encounter we were somewhat exhausted. He could only be described as plain rude & not in any way an asset to the place. The food was average & nothing to rave about. I have since been to a couple of other vegetation restaurants which are certainly better in both service & the quality of the food. You've guessed right, we shall certainly not be going back.

Went here for dinner yesterday and the food was amazing. I had the paneer dosa which was the best I have had in a long time. Two of my friends asked for less spicy which they accommodated. It wasn't expensive. The restaurant is small but well decorated and service was good. I will most definitely go there again and have some starters too.

They could have done with some background music, but that's not the point. I can't question their service. Despite being very busy, we had great service from that waiters, and the food arrived in reasonable time. The quality of the food was ordinary. My son had a palak paneer for the main course and it was swimming in oil. I had Dahi vada for my starters. They were so hard, that I believe they were initially made about 3 days ago. There is an extra in the menu nicknamed "gun powder" It is supposed to be some hot spice mixed with Ghee, but we never got any Ghee, we had some oil instead, a very poor substitute. My wife ordered some potato bhajias for starters, The batter was so bland that I don't think it had any spices at all.I don't think I will ever go back to this restaurant again.

Good food, good service, always full and rightly so. This has become a very popular addition to the Indian restaurant scene in Harrow in quite a short time. Specialising in Dosas and Thalis the food is mainly Southern Indian and is very tasty and nicely presented. Very reasonable drinks list as well.

Hello. We have dined a number of times at Sagar as well as having take outs. We enjoy dining in and the food. Overall, the experience has been a positive one. The cuisine is tasty though can be a little too hot for us (and for children). What does let it down is the lack of atmosphere and dormitory style layout arrangement. Also, the waiting staff could be a little more friendly in their approach. Otherwise, well worth a visit!

Although we still have a long wasy to go to catch up with the availabilty of Gluton Free products in Australia and New Zealand, the situation is improving, helped by such restaurants as Sagars. Visiting this eating house for the second time we found that standard had been maintained and the dishes were as tasty as ever.I originally found the location by sheer chance due to a road diversion caused by a fire opposite North Harrow underground Metropolitan Line station. In comparision with shop fronts in the surrounding area Sagars looked fresh and new. Fresh enough for me to cross the road to peruse their menu. Having a wife who is a Ceoliac, my first concern is to check if they serve gluten-free food. This restaurant, specialising in South Indian cuisine certainly does. And we found our first visit encouraging enough to return with friends for a second visit.Interestingly, and in contrast with someones previous report, we found the staff most courteous especially as we also had a disabled person with us. They could not do enough to assist us. The food itself is delicious with a choice between curried or non-curried, hot or mild flavours and some interesting presentation - see photo! Additionally we found the menu to be reasonably priced which, in these days, is always a blessing.South Indian cooking is particularly nice and, once again, we enjoyed our visit.

I have dined here a few times since it opened about 6 or so months ago. Brilliant flavours and great freshly prepared food each time. It has been brilliantly decorated which is what sets this place apart first and foremost from probably every other restaurant in the vicinity. Great value for money and I am yet to have a bad dish here. I will rewrite review after my next visit with some pictures of their amazing food.

I have visited multiple restaurants in the local area, I am a proud carnivore and was initially reluctant to eat Vegetarian food locally as I had been previous disappointed in Rayners Lane. The food may be nice, but this does not make up for the poor, careless service or the fact that the manager simply doesn't give two hoots if customers walk away unhappyWhilst dining, a boy was sick a few tables down. After the family left, the waitress avoided cleaning up the area, pulled faces and let the sick sit there. It then took over 15 minutes and 3 members of staff to clean the area bit by bit. Once finished, I still question the cleanliness of that table as I didn't see any disinfectant being used. The family next to us were also clearly unhappy with their food and had to request glasses of water 3 times before they were served. The manager - who happened to be serving them - made no effort to change their experience into a positive one.And finally on providing the manager with some constructive feedback, he simply shrugged his shoulders and walk away. It's a shame when a manager simply doesn't care if his customers are happy or not! Will NOT recommend or return

I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but the food is absolutely terrible. How they can class this as South Indian food is beyond me. It was bland and had absolutely no taste of anything. The worst asian meal I've had in a restaurant. To top it off, the waiters were indifferent, no smile and not welcoming at all. The restaurant needs to get this fixed. I suggest you go down the road to Jai Durga Mahal or Saravana Bhavan in Rayners Lane.

On first glance this restaurant looks really nice, well presented etc, but seriously don't be fooled. Quite possibly the worst Indian restaurant I've been to in London. Was quite empty when I went in. Waiter seemed nice at first. We ordered some mains, Pani Puree, absolutely bland rubbish, tasted abit stale. Chili Panner, looked like it was mixed with tofu or something. Just let such an awful after taste in my mouth. Seriously think twice before ordering these starters. The mains came, channa batora & masala dosa. Channa bataro was ok, was dripping in oil. Masala dosa was slightly bland but ok. We then asked for desert, I ordered a pistachio kufi. Was probably the worst desert I've eaten in my 32 years on gods green earth. Was seriously revolting. When I told the waiter I was so shocked at his reply, "it's a delivery that's only come today, we don't make it here". I mean what kind of service is this, no understanding, so so rude. Asked for the bill, brought someone else's bill out, I called him over, just snatched it off me, went behind counter & brought the correct bill. No sorry no nothing. I paid the bill, he ripped the card receipt from the terminal practically tossed it at me, no thank you, come again nothing. I just can't believe what I experienced at this place. Such a shame for a restaurant presented so well. I would seriously avoid this place, totally if I cold give this place a minus rating I really would. -5/10

Came here in a big group in December 2015. The presentation was excellent and the ambience of the restaurant also very welcoming. I was expecting top notch South Indian like at Chennai Srilalitha in Kenton or Saravana Bhavan in Rayners Lane, but with the polish of a proper restaurant. How disappointing. Dosas were served cold, and the waiter made it look like he was doing us a favour heating them. Idlis were just falling apart. Very badly made.Portions were miniscule and prices charged were significant premium to competing restaurants. I came out feeling a bit robbed really. Never going back.

My wife and I heard that a new South Indian restaurant had just opened and thought we'd try it out. The Dhosa was just ok. The Faluda was below average and portions were smaller then we were expecting. We also ordered a Bhel Poori which was quite poor. It came without any poories! When we mentioned it to a waitress, she said, 'poori, what's that?'! She then went and got another member of staff who told us that the poories were 'too small to be seen'. Really?? He then offered to get some from the kitchen. They tasted stale so we left them. I'm Indian and know what Indian food should taste like so pretty insulting for someone to treat me like asked for the 'hottest thing on the menu' or I'd just moved on to solids. I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant. There are just too many good vegetarian places to choose from.
