We chose Sagar because it was near theatre and veggie. The service was very poor and we had to ask twice for water and three times for the bill even after saying we needed to leave to go to the theatre. The onion bajis were far more batter than onion and tasted bland. Our main meal items were good but we were given cold plates. Sagar seems to be resting on its reputation and needs to improve service and food to keep us coming back.

Maybe we were just unlucky. We went in the pre-theatre slot - 6.30. Busy but not very busy. We ordered as we sat down and paid before the meal arrived so they knew we were in a hurry. Took 40 mins from time of order to main meal arriving. No time to eat the whole meal. Masala Dosa was great - that gets the two stars. But not a great experience overall. Go if you have time to spare.

The restaurant ia dark and uninviting. We were sat by the door in February when a delivery came in the table was cold. No acknowledgement or apology for this. The service was OK. The food was really disappointing. I ordered lentil aoup that arrived luke warm and was fairly bland in taste. There was no seasoning on the table to liven it up. The Masala Dosa looked impressive until I tasted the inside and it was cold too. I sent it back. The new one was hot in temperature. I asked for extra chillis to liven up the food. My friend had onion bahjee that were tough pellets of dough with onion crusts and a curry that was underwhelming. None of the staff asked us if we enjoyed the food. I guess that's because they know it's not great. We ate at 5 -6.30pm, which is relatively early and to be honest so not aure5qhat the real vibe of this place is. There weren't many patrons at the time and the atmosphere felt like The Green Mile. I'm not use to eating in places where diners eat in near silence. Sagar is a great place for non meat eaters to go if they like basic, tepid food, disinterest and silence.

Delicious paratha. Fast service which is great for a tired end of day in London. The sauces could be a bit more of a variety.

We took away 2 x Aloo Papadi Chat from your Leicester Square branch and was very disappointed with the quality. There was hardly any potatoes and papadi’s and around 70% of it was simply yogurt. We only opened the food when we were on the train and so couldn’t take it back to the store to raise a complaint. Previously we had purchased the same and the quality was far better, lots of crunch and substance to the chaat. Was a disappointing treat to the end of a fab day in London. Having followed up 3 times over email, they didn't acknowledge or reply to any of my emails. Poor customer service. I had hoped of avoiding to write a negative review which I never do but this time I felt I needed to.

Hi, A three course meal with wine for 4 people, in the West End for £123.13? That's the total, including 12.5% tip, not the price per person! Astounding. Not only that but the food was delicious. We're all vegetarian - there were plenty of vegan options - but to us the only complaint was there was too much choice. Starters - a selection of different Pani Puri - little (two bite) crisp balls filled with potato, chickpeas, pickle, yoghurt & sev. Three of the party had Paper Dosa with various fillings, I had the South Indian Thali - a plate meal Big portion of rice surrounded by small bowls with 4 different curries, dhal, raita, gravy and a pudding, complete with two puri and a papadom. Too much - couldn't finish it, despite having donated half my rice to my daughter. But utterly delicious. Kulfi (condensed milk icecream) and carrot halva for pudding. All washed down with a very acceptable vegan rose wine. Nothing we had was too spicy. Good service - attentive but not irritating. We had booked (my wifes Birthday) but there were tables available for walk ins - Monday early evening with a film premier round the corner in Leicester Square. We will go back.

This is a restaurant on the old Woodlands site in Panton Street just off Leicester Square. It is wholly vegetarian and vegan and we had a wonderful meal with good service and hot tasty food. The seating is - however - cramped if you sit in the back of the restaurant. If you are wanting a bit more space the tables on the right have chairs. This is part of a small chain in London. I shall try other branches

Fantastic choice of vegetarian food with gluten free options all at a very reasonable price. Good service, didn't have to wait very long and the food was delicious. Recommend the dosa.

Well located and accessible. Lovely to see a pure vegetarian restaurant in such a famous location. Fresh and authentic food. Dosa was very tasty albeit slightly burnt. The manchurian was not as crispy as one would like but still flavoursome. The masala chais were a delight in the winter weather. Recommended, reasonably priced for location and a pleasant ambience.

I went with family for dinner but the food was of poor quality the waiter was actually arguing with us about the menu and what it said and after all that they had the cheek to add service charge to the bill! Never again will I consider this restaurant

The food was generally very nice although the same chutney/dips were served with our starter and main course dosa. My wife paid the bill whilst I was away from the table, and even though there was a discretionary 12.5% service charge already added which she wasn't aware of, the waiter asked if she would like to add any tips. She did, taking the bill from £63 to £70. I only found this out after we left the restaurant and find it bang out of order that the staff would act in this manner so beware!

Not just any veggie/vegan food, but traditional southern Indian food....

Me and my daughter came for a meal after watching Pretty Woman!Poppadum and chutney tray we’re delish! Disappointed no hot plates for main sides! Half tandoori chicken tasted great! Sides not worth £8.95 each! Service charge already on the bill - the waiter had the cheek to ask if we wanted to leave a tip??? Kind of ruined the experience !!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They offered some regional dishes that we had not seen elsewhere which were very good. Our expectations were low because it was listed as a take-out but it was raining and we didn't want to travel about looking for another place. It was a birthday dinner for the old man (father/grandfather) in our group. We were very pleasantly surprised. We had seating in a quiet spot downstairs which was nice and the service and food were good.
