My regular curry house. The food is amazing and always come in great time!

Never actually received order. Rang restaurant for update was told this had been delivered but it was never received. Staff very argumentative and then they realised they delivered it to the wrong address. Very poor customer service and no refund received. Would not recommend ordering from this restaurant.

I am writing an honest review. We have moved in this area nearby and ordered food for iftar. Totally disappointed with the taste of chicken karhaii waste of money. Fish tikka was like huge coating of gram flour and fish with no taste not even salt. Lamb chops was burned hard and tasteless, tandoori roti was half cooked and half undercooked .. order was 26£ what a waste. I should have order kfc or some local fastfood.

Usually order from here but last night's was average. The Naga was bland, the lamb meat was tough and had a funny taste and the keema nan had no meat at all. Fast delivery so can't fault that.

The food was okay 👍, it's not the best I ever had but it's not the worst either. Unfortunately the drink i order was Awful. I ordered Mango Lase 🥭 and i was really disappointed with the test. When I told the manager, he couldn't give a ******. He just told me that's how they make it. I didn't drink it and paid for it. Overall I gave the restaurant 2/5.

Staff was very pleasent and accommodating, food was amazing and very filling, 100% recommend and definatley going back. Thankyou all those at saffron lounge......

My sisters 18th and it was ruined all food was cold waited 2 hours we are regular customers it was dreadful

Visited Friday Evening 14th February for an eighteenth birthday party. I have been for many curry’s over the years and this was not good . Looks like they prefer Uber eats to paying customers. All the meal was cold and 90 minutes from ordering. Don’t think I will use this one again very dissatisfied. 😒 The staff weren’t bothered more interested in us paying for a load of xxxp

First time ordering from Saffron Lounge and was pleasantly surprised. Delicious food, and generous portions. Chicken Tikka Balti best I've had. Friendly, polite delivery driver too. We'll done guys, excellent cuisine and service.

First time ordering from here tonight and I was not disappointed!! Portion sizes are huge, chicken was incredibly tender, pathia was 10/10 and kids absolutely loved their butter chicken. To top it off even had a free side thrown in of Bombay potatoes. Delivery driver was very friendly and polite also. Thanks guys will be ordering again for sure 👌🏽

Usually had a good experience, this time waited 2 and a half hours for delivery. Called restaurant twice to just be told they are very busy. When food arrived it was cold and to top it off Just Eat refused any refund.

Gutted..so close to where I live and have had some decent meals in the past. Was hoping for 3rd time lucky with my recent order as we were one of the ones that got a delivery a few weeks back when it was blamed on "the ordering system " Even though it wasn't even right, benefit of the doubt order a week later was also wrong. Decided to order in person today (as website not working for me)..sat for 45 minutes in restaurant and ignored..when I decided to ask they walked straight to a bag and said it was only just done. Spoke with manager about poor service, asked me to give him another chance..got home (45 second walk) Food cold, naan bread wrong, had to pay for 3 poppadoms on an order close to 30 quid, got one..!! i ordered keema naan, desi lamb korai, alo gobi, mixed veg and lamb chops. good was cold, naan soggy, meat undercooked. i have been a regular customer but recently i have to complaint every time about undercooked and watery food

Admittedly it was the night of the storm, and they were rushed off their feet, but we won't be going back. Waited half an hour for a menu and a further 1.5 hours for the food to come. Order wasn't correct, some dishes not very warm, and staff weren't apologetic. One vegetable main course was tiny, the same size as another vegetable starter, but they wouldn't do anything to rectify what was clearly their mistake. No compensation was offered for the chaos, and we requested 10 per cent off the bill, which they refused. Eventually they gave us 5 per cent, but then claimed we hadn't settled the bill in full, which we had! All in all a disappointing experience.

The food here is great. I normally order via uber eats, but tried a different system a couple of saturdays ago. Long story short the meal did not arrive. Over the next few days I spoke to the owner who could not apologise enough. His business was affected by the big storm, so to make amends, he invited me to the restaurant, gave me a replacement meal, including extra portions for a visitor we had with us. The food was excellent. A great gesture and a great restaurant.

Impressed!! I originally chose this restaurant, as the prices were cheaper than most other places and I assumed that this meant mehh quality of food and/or small portions sizes. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! The food was amazing. It was fresh and clean, I honestly overbought and was unable to finish it because I underestimated the portions sizes. The Vindaloo flavours were amazing. Everything tasted vibrant and spicy but not too much, also, even though it is a small detail, the presentation of a single dried chilli on top of the curry, that was delivered in a tub, was amazing. I got a portion of egg fried rice, and that was THE best egg fried rice I've ever had. It wasn't at all greasy, the egg was subtle but there and even though it was in a delivery tub, it was also presented beautifully. Can't recommend this place enough, absolutely amazing quality of food to price ratio, would normally pay double for half the effort else where, but this place knows what they are doing.

After a bad experience on Saturday night due to it being really busy and order missed, I spoke to Azad who could not apologize enough and offered me another meal. This meal was out of this world and one of the best I had tasted. I would definitely recommend and use this restaurant again

Very poor experience, dining in and waited 2 hours for our food. Poppadoms were stale, some of our curries were served lukewarm. Portions were extremely small. Clearly prioritising take outs and uber eats. Restaurant wasn’t at all busy. We raised complaints throughout and when presented with the bill, didn’t offer to take off any discount and told us they don’t add on a service charge. When pressed said they could only take off 5%. Won’t be returning.

This is an edit to my 1 star review, after trouble with the order last night, didn’t receive the food so had to go down there to get the food. Went in today to show our disappointment and they compensated us with the same as our order from the night before. The food was a lot tastier and hotter, portions were good. Can’t fault the people at this place they were genuinely sorry with what happened, so for that I will definitely come back and try again :).

I'd rate it zero if I had the chance. Ordered my 6.30pm left it till half 8 to contact them. Told me fault in system which was fair enough but driver out for delivery.. waited another 2 hours called them and they wasn't bothered told me to contact uber eats. Uber eats refuse to refund me so out of pocket and no food. Saffron lounge couldn't careless. Wouldn't trust them if I'm honest. Faults happen but least try rectify them not just leave customers without food or refund.

EDIT 7.12.: It is now almost 2.5 hours after the estimated delivery time, zero communication from the restaurant. They are not responding to phonecalls. I would still recommend for the quality of their food, but we'll be likely ordering from elsewhere next time. Things can happen, but when the communication is this bad... Original review: Our go-to Indian delivery place with a good selection of dishes, but we particularly enjoy their vegetarian sides. Speedy delivery and flawless service on our last ~20 orders.

Placed order nearly 2 hours ago still waiting and can't get through to restaurant

we ordered almost 3 hours ago and still not here. even with the bad weather it is only a 6 minute drive away. the latest delivery time was 2 hours ago. we have tried to call about 20 times and keeps on saying user busy

Phoned over 20 times - app said it was delivered but it wasn't. Eventually arrived 3+ hours. We know it's to do with storm so they say but if they want to keep customers then keep them informed. Just went to Tesco and spent over £20 to to buy pizzas to cook and arrived back to the delivery at the same time. I think people should be compensated if they can't be bothered to keep us informed.

Food never arrived with no explanation

Delivery took 90 minutes and had to chase twice. Not the normal service. We had visitors too.

Very nice food . Inside needs a moor atmosphere it's a bit plain. But overall a very nice place.

So went here on a Monday for the 12.95 deal the guy told me it’s was a mistake show him where it’s says that so had to go through the internet with him it’s his shop aswell I think , no so great energy very direct ,fish pakora the batter was raw on the inside sent it back came out exactly the same ask for 2 glasses of coke and he pulled quarter of a bottle of coke from under the counter gave us that there was more bubbles in my curry than my coke curry was mediocre at best ,places is clean though , probably because nobody goes there they need a change and fast to much competition

Absolute rubbish. Food came stone cold. Seems one curry recipe for all dishes and they like using copious amounts of red food colouring. Worse Indian food I've ever had. Needless to say that I will not be using them again. Had better tasting curry from a supermarket's essential range.

Dont waste ur time putting in a order they have fake discounts showing which dont apply to the order.. then the guy on phone just says use other delivery places where its more expensive and more fees.. id definetly go to another curry house at the prices they want you to pay on other websites.. they try to make u feel like should just order anyway after how long u spent putting in the order.. ordered before food was okay worth it at the discounted price but bog standard to say the least

We ordered vegetarian food, it was not good. We ordered saag paneer, they given us palak paneer saying that they made freshly whole curry and it was sweetness which they serve us. Mixed vegetable we ordered as in they suggested this is best dish of us, same this was sweetness too and vegetable was not cooked properly. Bad experience. As an Indian food pls I request don’t visit.

I received a very friendly, professional welcome on my arrival. My three meals were delivered quickly and all were of high quality , very tasty and extremely good value. The restaurant is delightful, P very clean and has a lovely ambience. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

My first curry from here was delicious from the curry to the rice and the naan even the popadoms were fresh everything was hot and really nice I honestly have not tasted a better curry and would definitely recommend this place spoke to Azid Meah a very polite man who was very helpful

An absolute gem. Prices are way too low and food is way too tasty to not get a takeaway delivered every week from Saffron Lounge. Things were getting pricey and average around here, so this is a major discovery. Chingri Jaflong, Aloo Gobi, Garlic Rice and a Chapati - delivered for less than £16: is that not about the best you are going to get around here? No - the three course set meal, which works out to a grand total of £13.65, is that. Everything is always cooked nicely and there's always plenty of it. The Chingri Jaflong had an amazingly tasty sauce - one of the best I've ever had. Delivery is always quick. That's it - great place for an excellent Indian takeaway in the Northfield area- nothing else comes close.

Upon my first visit to this place I loved it

Placed our order through just eat. Food arrived hot but not hot enough. Chips not fresh. Naan not cooked through more doughy no crispy bits.. The chicken Bali was a little watery but great amount of chicken. Chicken Jalfrezi very nice 👌🏼. Will order again and add a note to my required.

We had a take out and food was delicious. Meal for 5 people and everyone commented on how tasty their food was and we all had different meals. Delivery was as stated when we ordered and everything was hot. Great service will use again. Particularly liked the 20% of for delivery

The Butter Chicken is honestly the best curry I've ever had.

Very rarely leave reviews but this really warrants it. Lived in brum for 6+years and this is hands down the best indian I've had. Ordered from here several times and is consistently 10/10 Occasionally have to wait a bit for delivery but still go back to them cos the food is so good!

Food was absolutely shocking orderd online through Uber eats waited 2 hours rang up hat told 15 mins another hour went by then had to go collect my own food where the manger got stroppy and aggressive saying was now banned from the restaurant for turning up to collect my order I took the food home was stone cold portion size was shocking an there was hair in the food I would advise anyone not to use this restaurant an there will be many feeling the same as there was 3 other people there who had to come and collect there own food!!!

STAY AWAY. Terrible service, didn't arrive, when I called they answered and said it was on the way, 45 minutes later and still never arrived. Ignored anymore calls we made. Looked at their reviews and clearly have many fake 5 star reviews!

This place has the best Indian food in Brum. I don’t normally leave reviews but I’ll tell anyone who will listen about Saffron Lounge. Flavour, portion size and speed are all 10/10.

Had a takeaway which was very nice and cooked just as I'd ordered . We actually live in Chelsea but come up to bham quite often . Will be ordering again , you really don't know how good you have it down here as in Chelsea one main course would cost you what you'd pay for a meal for 2 up here ...will deff' use this place again .....

Worst Indian I’ve ever had. Chicken korma was tasteless and bland, mint sauce tasted like toothpaste, Chicken balti filled with garlic, Tikka masala extremely sweet. Literally no cheese on the on the supposed to be “cheese naan”. Vile food. Not one thing about this meal was nice, not one. It’s a full on rip off, do not waste your money. It is inedible.

Been here before for dinner and it was amazing, great food and staff, ordered for collection last night and the food was bland and way spicier than usual, completely overpowered any flavour that could have been. It was a very busy night and I ordered after the dinner rush so I cannot be too mad, regardless I will be back as it usually is a great meal.

The is one of the worst tikka Masalas I have eaten in a long time. It was watery and tasteless. The chicken pakoras were soggy, the garlic nan was just tasteless bread. Thought I would give it a try but never again.

Tikka masala is just a really bad curry, tastes like a Tesco microwave meal. Onion bhaji is terrible and Naan is average.

A great evening with delicious food and a really good singer (entertainment evening) staff were lovely 👍 I would suggest on the next evening like this, to maybe not put so many people on the tables (we were all quite squashed) Still 5 stars though as I had a really good night 👍 thanks 👍

Had an issue with foodhub at the start. But I got the food home, and all of it was superb. The flavour, the quality, and the freshness all 5 star. The customer service was excellent also.

Order 3 different curries and not 1 of them was nice , couldn't really tell the difference between any of them,lack of flavor, and no spice, very disappointing, ordered through Uber eats with 40% of , have eaten in the restaurant and enjoyed there food, but delivery food not as good , reluctant to order again

Waste of time and Money we ordered mango lassi it was very pathetic and there is no mangoes. Every dishes were same taste and it’s too sweeter. Fried rice not meet the minimum quality. Prawns and lambs were same taste.

Food was amazing, relaxing and staff were so tentative

We had a wonderful family meal at this restaurant. The food was delicious and service was prompt. The portion sizes were large and it was excellent value for money. The waiter was very friendly, polite and attentive (but not intrusive) and nothing was too much trouble. We were very grateful to him for suggesting a vegetarian meal that would not be to spicy for my daughter, which she really enjoyed. We will certainly be going back and ordering take aways in the future. I will be recommending this restraint to family and friends.

Food was delivered very late, the curry sent with the biryani had gone bad. The rest of the food all tasted the same with similar ingredients and the base sauce, everything was sweet instead of savoury, even the curry that was supposed to be Hot/Spicy. There was no point ordering different items, as they all had the same taste. Also all the food had barely any salt, all very bland. The naan and tandoori roti were the only edible items. Absolute waste of money.

First time here with the family the food was very tasty had a chicken balti which was to spicy for me , when the waiter asked if everything was ok with the food I mentioned it was to spicy for me and he said he would get another one that's not so spicy with less than 3 minutes he got another and checked it was fine for me ,very pleased with the good service and the food , will us again highly recommend to others thank you Mr Quinn .

Been tonight in a party of 6. The menu was a good selection and very reasonably priced. The service was 5☆. Azad Miah and the whole team made us feel really welcome in a small friendly restaurant. To sum up if you want a local restaurant with great food then please give them a try - they even offered to show us around the kitchen area - what more could you ask for ? Thank you Saffron we will see you soon. Sue & family...................continued just had a takeaway and its definately as good as eating in. It was still very warm, very tasty and large portions.Go on their website and its so easy to order with a discount off. Forget the rest I would just use these which is exactly what we will be doing.

i order here each week takeaway, £12 set menu, vegetable rice, shish kebab and garlic goa lamb. The food is here in 30 mins and servers are polite. No delivery charge. Lucky find and now am a regular - the meal often does two dinners for me if I get a supermarket nan. Nice food

Truly the most tasteless curries and generally food i have ever tasted. Curries were extremely tasteless and watered down. The chicken was frozen chicken that just goes into any of their curries. The tandoori grill food was all heavily coated in food colouring and lacked any real taste. I honestly do not understand how some of these restaurants survive. Its a mystery. Lacks creativity. Lacks respect for food. Delivery was prompt. They gave us free papadams. Thank you for that.
