Twice we’ve had a delivery of food from Saffron but never again. The first time it came 30 minutes ahead of the agreed time before everyone got home and tonight it came 25 minutes late so it was cold. Never had a problem when we’ve eaten in the restaurant but deliveries are now a no-no for us.

Safrom does excellent Indian food, I have been several times with my wife and each time has been very very good. Restaurant is only small as it only seats around 24 to 30 peolple, but it is very very good. The takeaway food is also very good although for delivery or collection is now taking a lot longer than it used to do. Now takes around 45 minutes from order, used to be around 20 minutes.

Cracking little curry house with terrific service from Naz. Really enjoyable eating experience. 3 things to be aware of (which weren’t an issue but just to note): 1. Book in advance as it gets super busy 2. You buy drinks from the pub next door (literally 10 yards away in the next room) 3. It doesn’t take cards so remember to bring cash (there’s a Halifax next door if you forget) Richard & Reka

Ordered twice now from Uber Eats takeaways! Gave them benefit of,the doubt on first one - Rezalla. Default tomato based sauce overpowered. With garlic…no spice. As a veteran of Bradford curries very dissapointed. Had to add my own chilli. Would have been nice with some fresh coriander too! Arrived late. Second one… spinach/chicken Karahi…. Arrived late, no spice… oily, which I don’t mind…very bland apart from garlic! Had to bin it halfway through… not like me! Chappatis are good. Again had to add my own chilli and fresh coriander. Wish. I had gone to aagrah now ;)

First time visit and was pleasantly amazed at all of it. From first walking in after drinks in the pub up front first. To leaving. So calm and relaxing. Not rushed to order and then left to enjoy our meal. Could not fault a thing. Even no issue to us sharing a stater and main meal and brought our together. Hot and very tasty Definitely on the cards for a return visit.

Honestly, I have never tasted anything so delicious. The taste was immaculate& everything was just so fresh. We ordered this for delivery from just eat and the delivery time was so quick and the driver was so polite. The food is reasonably priced& even if it costed £100 I would still repurchase as it was just that nice (no exaggeration). I was so upset when I started to get full because I just wanted more... my favourite Indian by far!! Please take my word and buy from here, you will not be disappointed. Hats off to the chefs, I thank you for blessing me with this food.

Attend this venue last night was charged £8.40 for a double gin and lemonade. Outrageous price for a small village pub. You wouldn’t even pay this price for a Leeds city centre venue attended saffron’s Curry house with friend (profession well educated and member of a profession) to celebrate and my friend left a party bag containing a Empty bottle of spirits and the landlord become abusive, Hostile rude and jumped up over a bottle / bag been left in the curry house. Bottom was consumed in an alternative place not this venue. Landlord was rude, abusive and intimidating towards my female friends before getting into a taxi with his colleague / Mrs this behaviour isn’t accepted no wonder the venue is always empty when there’s a Wetherspoons down the street you wouldn’t expect this behaviour from spoon. The restaurant is a room at the back of the pub, which is a little different, but I find this to be quite charming and unpretentious, which I prefer to the "all show and mediocre food" kind of places.

We went for the first time on a Friday night, a group of 3. Bit off putting having to walk through a pub to get to it, but it worked out convenient for drinks as you can nip round to the bar. The restaurant itself is pretty basic but don't let that put you off as the food is done to a high standard, and tasted freshly made. The mixed starter was great as was my balti massala. The staff were really helpful at suggesting dishes and my friend asked for extra chick peas which was not a problem. Will certainly go again and will try the take away soon.

I met my friend Mike and, sure as night follows day, that means the evening will climax with a curry. Now we were supping down flagons of homely mead in The Newmarket, whilst keeping one eye on the rugby league (Cas beat Leeds in a thrilling encounter) and another on this hilarious Leeds fan who was busy biting like an old trout at this Cas fan who was wittily outdoing him on the banter front. If old Stan Piecha had still been doing his angling column for The News of the World, he could have reported on the gargauntuan battle of man against fish!So to The Saffron. It's actually joined on to The Newmarket which made it ideal to order as we enjoyed the last of our ales; we then collected at closing time.I was very pleased- great & friendly service and not particularly expensive.I had a Bangladesh mutton curry with roti (actually a naan arrived, but no issue) and Mike, who is made of sterner stuff than me, had page 3 of the menu. Now, as this was a take-away I can't report on my colleagues fayre, but mine wasn't bad at all. Good meat pieces, maybe a little under spiced, naan perfectly decent; yes, a first visit but, I'm sure it won't be my last...why did I wait so long?

There is another Indian Restaurant in Garforth, I'm not a fan of it. I like my meal to be cooked fresh, on site and because I ordered it. At Saffron, that is what you get. Great fresh Indian food, served with a smile at very reasonable rates. Yes, it is in an odd location, the back room of a pub but put that out of your mind, it doesn't matter, the food makes up for it and the pub - The Newmarket Inn - is clean, well staffed with good wines and beers for every taste so Saffron and the Newmarket are in a very cosy relationship that works. Please remember though to book in advance especially at weekends, it is worth it, I hope you enjoy the place as much as I do, my tummy is rumbling now and wanting to back sooner that I should!

My local restaurant.. and it's brilliant.Yes it's small, and has it's compromises with regards to it's location but personally I think it adds to it's character! The food is brilliant - 10 out of 10, generous portions, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and the prices are very reasonable.Getting drinks from the bar is no issue, one reviewer makes out it's a marathon, in reality it's around 10 meters! You grab your drinks at £3 a pint and carry them through, if you're in a big group the friendly bar maids give you a hand through... It's what it is, it doesn't pretend to be a pompous hangout for socialites who just like to be 'seen' in the right places, and all the better for it!It's 10x better than the Aagrah up the road. In comparison, the food is nicer, the staff are friendlier (see, not rude) you're not rushed in and out, you're not over charged for a chicken korma, you don't get made up rounds of drinks appearing on your bill... I could go on.See you in the next couple of weeks.. Cheers. Phil

First visit and undoubtedly our last. The place is a tiny, dark, oppressive, loud, dingy and claustrophobic back room of a not so salubrious high street pub with tables crammed in far too closely together. It is unlicensed (WHAT???, IT'S IN A PUB!!!) but unlike all others you can not take your own drinks! you have to go out into the pubs main bar and queue with all the saturday night revellers including the noisy rugby team who had camped out in front of virtually the whole bar. This meant it took 10 minutes to be served and by the time we had carried our drinks back across the pub and down the corridor then across the restaurant, our starter had been served and was going cold. This was worsened by the fact that the close proximity of adjacent tables meant 3 other diners had to stand up not only to go for drinks but also upon return. The process was repeated each time anyone wanted a drink on either our or the adjacent tables. Very Very Annoying to say the least.Due to the number of diners crammed in to such a tiny room the noise level was way too high for normal conversation resulting in everyone shouting at each other and thereby exacerbating the problem.Could not understand why, throughout our meal, we were watched over by a woman in an anorak who was leaning against the wall behind the counter and doing nothing else (Bouncer perhaps?), and why the need for a scruffy delivery driver to be hanging around too???We decided to forego the predictable dessert menu and not wishing to make another trek into the pub for coffee asked for the bill. A card was offered to the waiter who advised us to pay at the counter. The card was presented at the counter where we were advised that they only accept cash or cheque (REMEMBER CHEQUES ANYONE?) This meant having to go out of the restaurant, down the corridor, through the busy pub, out into the street and search for a cash machine. Cash in hand then back down the street, into the pub, across the pub, back down the corridor and in to the restaurant to pay. One other thing, the restaurant has no toilets within, I think by now you can guess the procedure, yes that's right, out of the restaurant, down the corridor, across the pub and join the queue with all the revellers for the one and only WC.

This place has been open about six months and runs from the rear of the Newmarket Inn on main street Garforth but it is a stand alone business in its' own right. Bangladeshi owned and run with a menu that has some dishes other than your usual suspects.Four of us came on Easter Saturday. The decor is bright and modern and not at all dated. The only problem, and it is a small one, is that they don't serve drinks here and you have to go into the main body of the pub to get one. But this is simply a matter of going through a door. They do a take away service as well with free delivery for orders over £10 within 3 miles. We skipped starters and for mains between us we had Murgh Tikka Sagwala which was a very tasty chicken dish with spinach. A chicken tikka masala which was a little too sweet but had a strong citrus after taste to balance it a bit. The Machli Rooshon, a very tasty fish dish and lastly the Mangsho Sallom which was mutton. All were big portions and tasty. We also had a portion of tarka dall which was superb and I had asked for it done homestyle and they were happy to oblige. Rice was more than enough with two portions between four of us of egg pilau.Naan breads were crisp and tasty and we had chilli and coriander version, garlic and plain. The bill came to around £50 which was great value. Definitely come here again and having spoken to locals it beats the lauded Aagrah which is on the outskirts of the town. Th ebest restaurant in Garforth by a country mile and I would go as far as to say one of the better ones in the Leeds area.

This is our favourite curry house for miles. We have always had excellent service and food and the staff are much more personal than the Aagrah. We wouldn't go anywhere else; my husband even has a pint in the pub while he's waiting for the food. Brilliant food.

Having heard of this restaurant before, I have never had the opportunity to visit - so jumped at the chance when I got a call inviting to join some friends having an impromptu meal there.Pleasant enough surroundings, based at back of the Newmarket pub in Garforth. The food was very enjoyable, tasty and not badly priced. However, the service was very very slow - would have given 4 stars based on the food, but the slow service overshadowed a great meal. The service itself was fine - just the pace and wait for meal was too slow - even though the restaurant was quiet. Luckily there were several people in our party, so the conversation passed the time.Would recommend the food - but expect a slow service.

Having been to the restaurant and had a few take outs the food has been ok and reasonably priced, however they are inconsistent, we had a takeout this evening which was poor, some starters were missing and those that we got were dry awful rubbish that shouldn't have left the kitchen, and the main courses weren't up to standard, when we rang to complain they didn't seem to bothered. with the member of staff stating " What do you want me to do " without offering any real solution to the problem, I can honestly say that we certainly wont be ordering again.

There are two competing Indian restaurants in Garforth, Saffron and Aagrah and I,for one, prefer Saffron! The restaurant is really small, only been once but found it pleasant and the food gorgeous - and had takeaways from here and they're out of this world, really worth a try and much more authentic than a chain like Aagrah !
