Sabai Sabai in Solihull

Frente a la casa caballero era totalmente antipático desde el momento en que entramos en el restaurante. Le dije que yo también estaba allí la semana pasada y que no respondía o que no estaba interesado en ningún tipo de conversación. Pedí mover mesas ya que nos empujaron al final de una fila y bastante cerca de la siguiente mesa, pero él solo me ofreció otra mesa que era exactamente la misma. Es un caballero miserable en un trabajo totalmente equivocado, ya que sus habilidades de servicio al cliente son inexistentes. Tengo la intención de llamar al establecimiento y hablar con ellos sobre él porque en esta ocasión realmente arruinó nuestra experiencia y como clientes locales a Solihull me haría elegir Kibou la próxima vez en lugar de Sabai Sabai a pesar de que la comida y la camarera que nos sirvió era del alto nivel normal. El señor en cuestión tiene vello facial y un tatuaje detrás de la oreja si la dirección está leyendo esta reseña y preguntándose a quién me refiero.

Parece que los estándares se están escapando. La mesa no estaba lista y tuvimos que esperar, pero no hay dónde esperar, tuvimos que estar junto a las mesas de los comensales, lo que no era genial para nadie. Llegamos a tiempo y no temprano. Mis pasteles de cangrejo y gamba eran secos, pequeños, planos e insípidos al igual que los rollos de primavera. El satay de pollo también estaba seco y no parecía cocinado fresco. La comida principal era mejor, aunque toda la comida parecía poco especiada y demasiado rica. El vino era bueno y el servicio (aparte de nuestra bienvenida) era atento. No estoy seguro de que volvamos.

La presentación de los tamaños de los alimentos y porciones fue buena. Los cócteles eran muy sabrosos. La comida estaba bien presentada, verduras y ensalada crujiente y fresca. Platos sencillos como el pollo satay tenían un buen toque. Los platos principales y postres eran deliciosos. He estado en muchos restaurantes tailandeses y este es, con diferencia, mi favorito. Di cinco estrellas porque no tenía nada de qué quejarme. El personal era amable y atento. La música de fondo y el ambiente era agradable. Sin duda recomiendo este restaurante.

Reservar con antelación era fácil, y cada persona seleccionó su propio plato por su nombre unos 4 días antes. Sin embargo, tras la entrega, me decepcionó que los platos no se sacaran por su nombre, lo que fue frustrante, especialmente en un ambiente ruidoso donde es fácil olvidar lo que se pidió. Esperaba más atención a este detalle. Cada plato está claramente detallado en el menú, y como cliente primerizo, esperaba que los ingredientes se enumeraran en orden de cantidad, como es típico. Sin embargo, no fue así. Por ejemplo, en el punto 39 figuraba el brócoli como segundo ingrediente, pero sólo había dos trozos pequeños. Pedimos tres Pad Thai, y mis invitados estaban decepcionados con el pollo, que estaba tan delgado y escaso que se sentía como comer solo fideos. También me sorprendió lo caros que eran los frutos secos tailandeses y galletas de langostinos para la cantidad recibida, estos tienden a ser complementarios en la mayoría de los restaurantes, especialmente teniendo en cuenta que nuestra factura total de alimentos era de cerca de £ 500. En general, creo que la compañía y el ambiente es lo que más importa, y en ese sentido, todo fue genial.

Esto tenía el potencial de ser tan prometedor. Nuestra mesa fue reservada por amigos para reunirse ya que vivimos a unos 200 kilómetros de distancia. A la llegada los saludos fueron amables por parte de la camarera y estábamos sentados y nuestra orden se tomó rápidamente. La comida no llegó muy rápido, lo que no tengo ningún problema, ya que a menudo es una suposición justa que se cocina fresco. El plato de entrada mixto estaba a un buen nivel y disfrutado. Los platos principales de fideos de ternera, curry verde y Nam que yo y mi compañero tuvimos fueron bastante sabrosos. Seguido de un agradable desierto. Luego vino el lado negativo. Nuestro tiempo total en la mesa fue de alrededor de 1 hora y media, yo acababa de terminar desierto, que había habido una espera, la cuenta fue pagada, y nos pidieron que dejáramos la mesa. Ahora sé que la gente tiene que ganarse la vida, pero cuando una comida para cuatro personas llega a la cantidad que se cobra aquí, también esperaría que el servicio sea algo más sutil y planificado. Si bien la comida era buena, he tenido mejor, por menos con un servicio más amable, y me temo que esto empañó la experiencia para mí. Espero que esta haya sido una noche de descanso.

The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. However, the experience was dampened by the extremely loud music. It made it hard to hold a conversation and enjoy the atmosphere. While the food and staff were excellent, the noise level was unacceptable. I'd recommend this place for takeout or if you're okay with a nightclub vibe.

Ate here on Friday evening. Pleasant enough but not nearly as good as previous visits so not sure what has happened? We were initially shown to a table tucked right away in a corner and completely hemmed in by a family with a baby in a high chair. Why it would be assumed a couple on an evening out would want to sit there is beyond me. Shown to another table opposite the bar. It was ok but very noisy and my chair was broken 😳 so had to ask for another, which was brought promptly. Mixed starters were delicious, however we hadn’t even taken a bite of them before a waiter asked how they were. Seemed completely disingenuous, Ordered steamed sea-bass & requested it to be mild, with less chillies. This request was clearly ignored as it was fiery hot. Managed to scrapes lot of the chillies 🌶️ off but that wasn’t the point, Took ages for drinks to arrive, even though they were very visibly on a tray on the bar opposite us, waiting to be served. Won’t be rushing back I’m afraid, which is a shame as we’ve always enjoyed our visits here.

Excellent visit as usual the staff are so kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the set lunch menu it was delicious I have visited before that's why I returned. Lovely setting and atmosphere we will return again.

Food was delicious and service first class. Really enjoyed the artistic surroundings and it was a brilliant way to celebrate my birthday.

The food was good but expensive. The add a couple of quid on as an eco tax too. Our waitress (Jess) however was fantastic. Very helpful, professional and friendly. Thanks Jess.

Water and prawn crackers .. good 3 wine list left on table yes, but 6/7 mins of sitting down and having water Asked what drinks.. 4 Thailand cocktail Very little vodka , hardly any processco fizz.. for 10£ don’t bother just sweet syrupy stuff 5 waitress serving drinks to you across the body of another client when she could have just come across to me… no no 6 starters were good 7. Main courses.. Green chicken curry Less chicken Green curry is meant to have heat.. no heat .. not good enough Asked for chilli oil. To complement curry but didn’t do the job as chilli oil too peppery pungent Tip.. go to Thailand for a proper green curry 8 second bottle of wine asked for Abd just poured indiscriminatelty into wine glasses leaving it to warm up .. white wine should be cold and kept cold.. 9. Like the food Reasonable service But if you want my money Improve service by training staff( not their fault) They are lovely people just not trained well enough More authentic Thai food

Food was good, service was good but music was very loud so everyone had to speak loudly. No ambience. Leamington much nicer environment. It was not creatively laid out and no Thai music . Dessert was lovely and prices good.

Bit of a weird experience here. Lovely food, piping hot however, our wait staff appeared to completely ignore me and spark up conversation with my partner. When bringing items over kept moving my drink to the opposite side of the table away from me. Lovely decor. When we entered the essentially empty restaurant we were asked if we had booked (you have to give your card details to book) and when we said no, the staff looked surprised and quote frankly a little put out (there was one other table seated?). As I say, a little bit odd in places but a relaxing environment with great food. Portion sizes ample

HAIR IN SATAY CHICKEN!!!! A CURLY ONE at that !!! Terrible service by manager Kd who didnt even bat an eye lid as if it was a common occurance. She only apologised after we advised that we expected an apology. But informed us that its not unusual to get a hair in your food and that we shouldn't expect not to get a hair. She made us pay for the privilege of the hair and ruined night and didnt even care that we hadn't finished our drinks and said i didnt force you to order drinks and said she has cancelled our mains as a gesture of goodwill. Baracaded us in to our table holding a card machine so we couldn't leave without paying for the privilege of the hair. Shocking to say the least AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Came here for early evening dinner - we weren’t disappointed. The service was excellent and the food freshly cooked and delicious. Highly recommend.

We visited as a group of 8. The meal was excellent, all the food very tasty. The service was excellent - thanks to Dennis who was our waiter.

Food was exceptional very authentic and cocktails were on point . However the evening felt rushed and over serviced - what has put me off is the time limit on tables - your experience is then rushed - our waitress asked very quickly to take our food and drinks order whilst not her fault - let’s take some time to read body language- my friend had literally just arrived and barely took her coat off. My advice check your table turnaround time it’s less then two hours and take ls away the experience from customers.

Great food!!!!! Have eaten at both the Moseley branch and now, Solilhull. Much prefer Solihull. Extremely tasty food and a lot to choose from off the menu. ONly gripe was how expensive the beer was.

Visited the restaurant as part of business trip. Staff were friendly and great atmosphere. Ordered pad Thai noodle - it was amazing and good portion.

I, like 8.5m others in the UK have to be careful with gluten. This is why prior to visiting as a guest in a group tonight, I tried to get information of your allergen list online and then via messenger. I was told on the latter that the menu changes frequently and therefore was not online and I would have to enquire when I arrived. I was early into Solihull so I dropped into the restaurant and asked about Gluten Free options. They had a pre printed laminated sheet that had all the allergens on, so I am not sure why this could not be online. To be honest, the answer given on messenger just felt a lazy excuse. However, there was virtually nothing on the menu that offered choice of being gluten free. This is a really poor show and probably the worst GF menu that I have seen in the past 6 years of being aware of my issue. It left me with a feeling that if in doubt say it contains gluten or give it a label of may contain. Apparantly the spice mixes may contain gluten. Being a frequent cook and using spices, my spices don't contain gluten so not sure about that. This approach meant I gave my apologies to the group that I was with. I certainly will not be back either as a family or friend group.

First time visiting this restaurant and all I can say is superb. The staff were super friendly. The place itself is very nice . The food is just fantastic. I will definitely be going back.

Very pleasant Thai restaurant with wide selection of traditional dishes. My colleagues particularly liked the crab cakes, but also very authentic was the yellow curry. The papaya salad was fresh with lots of lime and spicy , they were able to make a vegetarian version . The service was attentive and the decor was fun. It’s a good place to take small groups (we were 6) . Apparently you need to book on the weekend .

After the dismissive and sarcastic attitude from the male manager and another member of staff here when we enquired about a table, my sister and i actually decided to drive 25 minutes to the Moseley branch instead and eat there as we were made to feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. This is the second negative experience i have had at this branch, for similar reasons. The staff are unfriendly and borderline patronising and spoilt the brand of sabai sabai. Until we decided to to no longer let it spoil our evening, my sister and i were incredibly upset at the manner and tone in which we were spoken to/with.

Visited here for the first time for dinner with the wife. Food was really nice and service from our server was good. Was having a lovely evening until we ordered desert. I ordered a coconut panna cotta which is described and shown on the menu...
