Rutherford Dining Hall in Canterbury

Daylight robbery. I was served by a rude staff who gave me small amount of food for £5 when I pay almost £6,000 for my self-catered accommodation every academic year. The place is full of rude staff in general.

Good amount of food for only £3 you get a main and a side. Add a salad bowl for an extra quid. The quantity is great, the taste is great too. Food is fresh and hot. There are sachets for S&P if needed, and sauce bottles if you want them. Lots of space in the hall but does get busy during peak times. Chicken is Halal.

£3 for a stale bun with a bit of dry veggie bacon. What can I say? Have a look at the picture.

All things considered, this refectory offers pretty good VFM. Have enjoyed some good £3 dinners. Pretty solid vegan options.

3 pound meal is a good initiative but the taste and quality is okaish!! Wok bar is a good option.

Love this one for a cheap meal. Still go there now I'm not even a student. Decent meals for £3.

Excellent Christmas lunch there, they also do a good brunch at weekends during term time.

Large pleasant dining hall offering a different menu daily. Well priced choice food from the servery or the Wok Bar.

The wok bar serves good stir fried dishes on certain days.

Good value as far as the hot food is concerned, but a little pricey when it comes to bottles of water and fruit - bananas especially, at 86p each!

The food is on the bland side of things. Theres not much variety theres always chips as a side everyday. It would be nice to have some variation.

People are mostly really nice, but with the pandemic it's getting overcrowded

Yeah, it's pretty good. Well priced food, good atmosphere and overall a decent place to study or eat. Wish they put the piano out more often though.

Canterbury was just breathtaking. A lot of my fondest memory are bonded to this place and I will never forget the time that I spent in the University, especially the people that I met in this dining hall. Definitely a must-do experience

For the ones who love british food. I dont have pictures but its a big place.

University of Kent is a lovely university to study. The canterbury campus is compact. Most amenities are within walking distance. The accomodation varies according to price and type. The flats in Q Block was very nice. The Rutherford dinning hall was very nice. The food was reasonably priced. SU shops were all over the place giving students access to cheap groceries.

Offers a variety of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, food is cooked to an acceptable standard.

Breakfast served until 10am! Affordable prices

Decent place to eat with a large seating area. They have a separate sandwich bar and a kitchen area where they prepare fresh stir-fry's or pick a main course and help-yourself-sides. Breakfast is also good. The staff are very friendly with exception of one grumpy chef, hence the 3 stars.

I had my dissertation chat here, nice open plan, loads of seating, excellent food.

Never try chinese food here simply because they are not chinese at all.
