Again our U3A group had a lovely Sunday lunch. Great service, great food, cosy venue, ample parking, wheelchair friendly. Venue large enough for the under 10s who get bored play near mum & dad with plenty of floor space. Bookcase for those who cannot resist a browse.Proceeds I think go to keeping ths lovely amenity going. Booking essential. They get really busy on a Sunday.

My wife and I were taken by our Son and Daughter in Law for a Sunday carvery it was fabulous cooked to a tee, with very generous portions. On the Veg side we were completely spoilt for choice with at least 6 different types of Veg, to go with it three types of meat and of course Yorkshire Pudding. For dessert I chose, Apple pie after having difficulty making up my mind because there was so much to choose from. The staff were so friendly and could not do enough for you. Great place, Great Food, Great atmosphere that I would recommend 100%...

Lovely venue which has recently been redecorates/refurbished and people were so very friendly. I met the owner and his wife and they took the time to explain the game and said we were welcome to play and at a cost of only £3 per person for 2 hours was truly great value for money however, would recommend you play before you eat as you wouldn’t be able to move afterwards. Now let’s talk about the main event. What a way to spend a Sunday lunch time; a couple of drinks with friends followed by a traditional Sunday roast with a choice of 3 meats. This Sunday roast was such good value for money that I actually struggled to finish the meat of which we had 3 varieties: lamb, beef and turkey. We were also spoilt for choice with the vegetable sides and there was lots of choice for dessert although I had no room for deessert the men had no problem tucking into a knickerbocker glory. The staff were amazing and do attentive as they couldn’t do enough for you. The restaurant only does Sunday roasts and I would advise booking your table in advance as was very busy and that’s without any advertising and relying solely on word of mouth.

Cost wise there can be no complaints about the food. For a birthday, or similar its Great value. Also recommend for the large music function they hold there.

Comfortable restaurant with nice pint to start. Brickwork pate was good as always but more bread needed. Beef, pork and gammon on offer. I chose the beef which was nicely cooked but the veg was slightly disappointing. Sticky toffee pudding needed more custard and could have been hotter. Not a bad effort though

We were led to believe this was above average - ho hum... Service, whilst friendly, was slow. Finding a wine list took some 20 minutes. After another reuest when it arrived it was crumpled and stained. As it was warm night we decided to eat outside - tables could have done with a good wipe, and the floor had obviously not seen a sweep for some time - cigarette ends all over the place. Menu was nothing more than average selection of pub food, and from arrival to food arriving took one hour. On the plus sign - food was hot, and acceptable, portion size - substantial. (No need for a starter.)

We have been here several times now because the food is great, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and they are dog friendly. There is a choice of sitting inside or outside. The menu offers a good variety of dishes and the helpings are generous and reasonably priced. It has become a firm favourite of mine and I hope to visit many times more. There is an added bonus of a farm shop where I regularly buy fresh, long dated, local farm eggs and a variety of different flavoured heavy fruit cake. Thoroughly recommended.

The service was friendly but there was only us four there. We didn’t know it had turned into an Indian restaurant but we decided to stay and try the food. The food was lovely but mine was a bit cold so I asked for it to be warmed up. A day later I’ve got food poisoning sickness and diarrhoea and so have my friends who had joined me to eat there so I would look at your hygiene cleanliness unless it was reheating chicken I’m not sure but we are all ill now.
