Amazing food, me and my family all enjoyed it. The restaurant is run by an amazing family really nice and friendly people owner even came out of his way to ask how the food was. Definitely recommend you try it out.

Rupee Lounge is a fabulous well presented restaurant on the edge of Coventry. The menu has all the family favourite curries, but also many chefs special and signature dishes, which take you on a taste adventure. I particularly enjoy the chicken nagha, the lamb kofta and the garlic chilli chicken tikka tawa. The starters are a good size, delicious and you get a proper portion of dips for your popadoms too. The great selection of naan breads are fresh and delicious as well! The staff at Rupee Lounge always offer a warm welcome, are attentive and friendly. They will help you get the right curry and can tailor it for you. They are always smiling! I visit quite often with friends and family, in parties of 2 to 10 people. Every time we receive the same wonderful service and food quality. They do not serve alcohol, but you can take your own and the shop next door has everything you could want. Thanks again Rupee Lounge for another delicious meal 😃

Great food and impeccable service every visit without fail whether we’re sitting in or taking away!

We visit every 1-2 weeks for dinner and always have brilliant food. The prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are huge - especially the vegetarian thali! I can never finish it all but the staff are always happy to put any remains into a takeaway bag, if required. They recently stopped serving alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own for a small corkage charge. They still serve soft drinks and mocktails. The chef often pops out to check everything’s okay with the food. The place is small and always feels cosy. They are very attentive about turning on extra lights because we struggle a bit when the light is dim. They have a good set up which means they can do this without bothering other customers who might prefer the lower lights. We will be continuing to visit for the foreseeable future. :)

Have lived down the road for 5 years and never been in, thought we would try it. I'm currently sitting in the restaurant as I write this, food is amazing best I've had in many years. The taste of the food is outstanding, cannot wait to return. Thank you to all the staff

We ate here early evening when it was pretty quiet: few diners but they dealt with a number of takeaway orders. Reasonable table, and they did put the lights on when they saw we were struggling in the gloom. Food portions were quite generous and broadly enjoyed. However dishes were quite hot. The menu doesn't guide you so we did ask for advice. Unfortunately our orders got muddled (and we noticed again at a table much later). They need to take more care. We will be back. Nice to have draught cobra available.

Great food served in good time, great cobra on tap too! Staff were very friendly. We will return again soon in the future.

Turned up on in plenty of time - was shoe horned into a tiny table for two with diners in front and behind when the place was almost empty. Decided to don’t she the popadoms and preferred a sharing platter to start. Imagine…… it turns up on a sizzler snd the waiter just splits it as he sees fit, dumps it on two plates - one each! A starter like this should be put on the table so both can chose what they want - it all tasted the same regardless - just a sludgy sauce over the meat Onto the mains…. Butter chicken…. Looked nice, served on a plate, not in a pot. It was average. My dish a chicken dupiaza (meaning double onion) came in some form of pot which the waiter used heavy tongue type style items to lift it indicating it was hot. It looked wrong…. I lifted the pot with my hands (no issue) and spooned it to my plate….. small almost cubes of chicken in a thickish orange sauce…. I never saw an onion… Oh well ate it (could have been anything) Three pints of cobra accompanied the meal between two along with a rice and a small garlic naan Overall….. I’d have been better getting a takeaway from my local two fir one or whatever. Cost £48 of which approx £15 was booze. It’s a v small place, they have too many tables rammed in - the food wasn’t great tbh and I won’t go back. Far better places locally including the well noted Akbaars to name just one. Still…. If you don’t go… you don’t know.

Wonderful evening with the most delicious flavours. Recommended meals were amazing and we were all well catered for. Catered for our birthday cake needs too.

Overnight visit to the area, we booked the restaurant and they fit us in at short notice. Good table, very personable staff. They were very open about training up a new person - I hope they keep him on as he was lovely. The staff are all great and we were made to feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The owner was eye rolling his sons a little bit on one occasion (I think he wants his customers to have a great meal.and service). But I hope this review makes him realise he has a lot to be proud of with his lovely family and staff.

We had an unbelievable experience at Rupee Lounge. It’s was such a good curry and an authentic Bangladeshi experience. The owner is such a nice guy, but his son is a liverpool fan so minus points there. There ain’t no party like a Vardy party.

Worst restaurant ever I visited in the UK. I went for a lunch and had to leave the place after having the starters. I ordered masala papadum, samosa, paneer shashlik, and aloo chaat. The paneer shashlik was burnt, and the taste was awful. And instead of serving the aloo chaat they have just given the dry aloo saag with some spices on top. When I told them that this is not the authentic aloo chaat, the kind of justification they gave was not acceptable. Usually the authentic aloo chaat would have chutneys, yogurt, chick peas, spices and some savories. I even showed them the picture of aloo chaat. But they said they serve the aloo chaat like aloo saag which should not be. They even had guts to ask me to order the main food. They said their curry chef is different and he will prepare good main food. They even said their curry chef is no. 1 in the Coventry. I just laughed because that couldn't be true. I wasted my £27 on eating rubbish. DON'T EVER VISIT THIS RESTAURANT INSTEAD SAVE YOUR MONEY.

First visit back since lockdown the place was very clean.The young man who served us was excellent and the owner very chatty and friendly. The food was very good and well presented.

Ordered a take away for pick up via Uber eats. First problem; no notification of when it was going to be ready on line even though there was the facility to provide it. So i waited what i thought was a reasonable time and then phoned. 'Yes sir your food is ready for collection'. I duly arrived at the restaurant no more than 5 min later to be told that it was almost ready - a quick visit to the kitchen was followed by a nervous waiter who rushed out the door to check the car park - came back in with no word to me only to return once again from the kitchen to tell me that there was a mix up and it would only be two minutes. They had obviously given my order to the delivery guy by mistake but rather than admit their error they tried to fob me off with lies and deceit which was annoying to say the least. Fifteen minutes later, after three other people had come in and picked up their meals mine was delivered with the most insincere apology I have ever heard.Now to the food - the King prawn special (I think it's the most expensive dish on the menu) was quite awful and tasted very strongly of mustard; it was really weird.My wife had a chicken tikka Tawa which was also very unsavoury and had a strong vinegar flavour. We used to go to this restaurant when it first opened but stopped in due to their decline in standards but thought that we would give a chance again - sadly it was as poor as we remembered it to be in terms of it's management and food - we will not be going back.

Excellent food service and decorWe were staying in Coventry but really wanted Indian food. Looked on google for restaurants nearby and bingo Rupee Lounge it was. We weren’t disappointed the young waiter was polite and offered advice and great service. The food was hot in temperature and as described on the menu. Side dishes amazing and the price was value for money. A great experience especially on a Sunday.

Lovely food, and friendly staff. However despite spending £100 on our bill for four of us , and paid for by card- hence no cash or change - it was a bit unfortunate we thought , that three of the waiters asked us as we left - “had we left a tip?”. We hadn’t actually - simply because our bill Was paid by card and I didn’t recall seeing a tip function anyway . But I don’t think being asked , is appropriate. A real shame as it spoiled what was a great evening ....

Came tonight for food spoilt for choice so Cam (the waiter) recommended some dishes and they were delicious Definitely recommend a visit and WE will be back. Friendly smiling happy staff who seem to be a credit to the restaurant

Very covid conscious.Beautiful food and wide variety of choices for every palette, waiting staff were really eager to help you find something you would enjoy and appeared to have worked hard during lockdown perfecting their menu. Everyone was very friendly and attentive with staff from the kitchens coming out to make sure everything was to our liking.Would really recommend, I wish the Indian restaurant at home was this good.

One of the best I’ve ever had! Have never had Lamb chops like that, wow, food was hot, tasty and plentiful, staff were delightful, will be returning very very soon!

Food was vile... no taste at all! Overpriced and cold on arrival - inedible at the temp it was delivered at! Over an hour to deliver on a Wednesday night and half the order was missing! When contacted the restaurant he was useless! Will never order from here again!

Wow! Second visit and just as impressed as the first. The food is first rate and the staff were kind, polite and funny. My husband and I had a great evening and would recommended it to anyone 10/10

I and my wife had a meal here on Friday 28th Feb not realising it's pay day for most. So thinking it may be busy etc I was not really expecting a tentative service. However, and although it was busy the service was impeccable, every member of staff was polite and the owner was greeting, chatting to his customers whilst also serving and supporting his team (I look for these little nuggets as it speaks volumes, and sets the bar in terms of service). The food: 1st Curry- Rupee Special curry which was delicious and full of flavour. The only critique here would be that I would like it to be a touch spicy (but that's personal preference).2nd Curry- Lamb Desi Karahi, asking for this to be spicy (Jalfrezi level) it was again cooked and spiced to perfection. The prices for the food/drink I think is reasonable. So we had 2 rice 2curries 1 naan 4.5pints of Cobra (a great pint too) £45 including a tip. Overall I would recommend the Rupee Lounge and will be coming back

Visited after attending Warwick Arts Centre, arrived at 10.30pm (opening hours specified 12), order drinks requested ½ coke was issued a pint but decided not to fuss about it. Placed our order after discussing the options with the waiter, by now most people were now leaving, when our food arrived we were the only two people left in restaurant and my partner’s food was cold! Which he reported and they warmed up in microwave, he then tasted it and it wasn’t what he ordered, his order was supposed to be madras hot, then the waiter came along to say is it ok if he hoovers. At this point we should of said no while we was eating our food but assumed he would start at the other end of restaurant, he then started hoovering around our feet while we was eating. This didn’t make for a good atmosphere, we actually wished we had stayed at home and ordered a takeaway. We felt like they were rushing us out. We then went to pay and when my partner checked the menu he noticed they had charged for two pints of coke when queried this they seemed annoyed that we did so and tried to claim I had had two drinks. So basically poor food, poor service, then tried to overcharged. Totally disappointed and will not visit again due to attitude of staff and poor food.

We are slowly working though the chiefs specials each time we pick up a take away or eat in.Owner has become a friend and he often will go in and supervise our meal preparation.I personally have been to night school to learn how to cook Indian style food and know the team are doing their best to please me and all the customers I talk to while waiting for my take aways.

We decided to give this place a try, and we weren't disappointed.Anne had the onion bahjis to start, I had the shami kebab.Both were excellent.Anne had Chicken tikka shashlick, and I had the lamb korai.Again, both were excellent.The staff were attentive and friendly,the beer was nicely cold, all in all, we'll go back when next in the area.

It has got to me today , so I feel I have to leave a review , ordered a takeaway got told will be a 20 min wait ,fair enough I thought , 30 mins went past nothing , 40mins went past Still nothing , I had to ask where my order was , man went out back came straight back out with all my order in one bag !! Two orders mixed together , to be told sorry it’s all together as had to rush it ,40 mins in my eyes is not a rush , but simply been bagged together and sent on my way , to get home and one of the cartons wasn’t secured properly so all contexts of one carton was over the rest of cartons :( , also got given burnt popadoms never seen or been given Burnt ones b4 , terrible service and poor packaging , will not be returning again , not got the time too !!!

Heard so much about this place over the year's but never tried, tonight popped in after a pint in the Penny Farthing for a takeaway, OMG I wish I hadn't bothered, got the food home ( prawn madras, plain nan and chips) curry was so lemony and salty I just couldn't eat it and as I'd poored it over my chip's they were ruined too, to be fair the nan was okay maybe a little sweet. Thank God I had a bag of nuts in the cupboard. Phoned and told them, so long as the complaint is passed onto the chef no-one else will have to suffer or go hungry like I did. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL.

This is so handy , just up the rd and has a nice bar, serving ice cold Cobra, we took our Granddaughter for a meal, Chicken Tikka and Chicken Rogan Josh, was lovely, Ice Creams yummy. Nice Atmosphere and well priced.

Just had a takeaway...worst i have ever had. Most stuff from spar next door if i had to guess..microwaved poppadums...awful onion bhaji and samosa. And the main food just tasted of salt nd ketchup. And not cheap! Took an hour to be ready. Seriously go hungry rather than eat here..or go to the spar next door..they even have a microwave ....so disappointing!

Four of us went here on Saturday night, for myself it was for the first time.

Had our first Christmas Day meal out here today! Food and service was fantastic. Christmas music playing and people just enjoying their meals with each other. Staff were friendly. Would do this again.

Greeted by a warm welcome. Shown to a good table, nice ambience and atmosphere. Service was first class, as was the delicious food. Couldn't fault this restaurant - would certainly fully recommend the Rupee Lounge and would return here next time I'm in the area. Thank you!

Had another fantastic meal here and several takeaways this month. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Food is always good. Offer on for meals Mon-Thurs. Christmas Day offer too. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We have used this restaurant previously and always had good service with fabulous food. Recently we had a take away which was equally as good as their restaurant food. Will definitely go back.

Having tried many of the curry houses around Coventry and the Tile Hill area we'd never actually been to Rupee Lounge despite it being our closest restaurant. Having now been there we'll be sure to return.

just at last minute we fancied a curry so made a drive to the restaurant.they found us a table straight away.we had 3 different currys,rice and nans it was very nice overall good service and left very hapy and full

I saw a TA that The Rupee Lounge had a mid week special on! I was very intrigued so booked a table! You don’t half know it’s a special as the portions are cut in half, literally and whilst the food was ok if I was to return it’d be for the main menu so I didn’t leave considering the chippie on the corner! Slightly disappointed to be fair! The drink was half a pint, the sheen kebab was one cut in half!

We picked a night when apparently they had a large takeaway order so waited 40 minutes for our meal. The meal was okay but not great I am afraid and popadoms old and soft. We were told they would be taken off the bill but they were not. Not a good first experience.

The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. I would just like to say a huge thank you to the manager and the staff who made our evening memorable. They did everything, plus more to ensure we were comfortable and happy during the time spent in the restaurant last night.

We rate Rupee Lounge as average. We’ve visited here a few times and the service is always good with average tasting dishes. Prices are fair.

Fabulous food, one of the best Indians I've ever eaten at. All our dishes (7 in total) were delicious & cooked & served to a really high standard. Really looking forward to going back.

My husband and I visit almost every week, as this is probably the best curry in Coventry. Abdul and his team are very friendly, efficient and very welcoming. My favourite is Chicken Sag Wala and Chicken Rogan - both slightly hot....mmmmmm.

Every time we go here either to dine in or a takeaway, the food is exceptional. Even better that the curry house is a short walk from our house. Staff are very friendly and take care of you from the moment you walk in.

Well what can i say just had a lovely evening in the rupee lounge. Great service great atmsophere and superb food. And ever so reasonably priced. Will be definately going back and now is our new regular. (Try the murgh paneer delicious)

Si quieres hablar con el personal sobre sus preferencias son muy complacientes como cualquier buen restaurante sería. En lo particular no me gusta la comida demasiado caliente y picante y siempre me explicaron que. Siempre recibo una gran curry suave. He comido allí muchas veces (en el restaurante y comida para llevar) y no puedo quejarme de una vez. Tienen una oferta fantástica de entre jueves - Sun (ver foto) para comida razonable de £12. 95 incluye una bebida (opcional). Lo recomiendo altamente.

It’s a shame really. The place is nice and local (within walking distance) and really quite convenient - possibly a little too convenient!, the staff are great as well. However, where it lets itself down is on the taste of the food. Admittedly my partner and I haven’t tried every dish on the menu (probably 6 or 7), but the ones we have tried all taste the same (and rather salty to boot!).

Never let down by the quality and variety of dishes, love the draft cobra! Staff are attentive and very polite. Restaurants clean and unique! Will be back soon

The food here is very expensive considering the quality. It’s not awful and some dishes quite tasty but really do feel for the area and quality it’s overpriced. Restaurant not as clean as I would like and often cold.

We went to the rupee lounge with my son and partner who go quite often but it was a first visit for me. The restaurant is very quaint and had a lovely atmosphere it was very busy and I would recommend booking if going on a Saturday evening . Although I enjoyed my meal I would have liked the meal to have been hotter as I felt it was only warm ,but I still enjoyed it and my family did as well .

We booked a last minute table for 4 and 9PM and arrived after a few cocktails. It was an absolutely wonderful meal. The staff were great, the food was incredible, and we are really glad we picked here for our New Year's Eve celebrations. Thankyou so much!

Visited the Rupee Lounge as a group, although we arrived late all the staff were attentive and couldn't be more helpfully especially as one of the group was disabled, the food arrived quickly and was top quality, with everyone wanting to try everyone's, big thanks to the staff for a 5 Star night, see you again

For good food eating in the restaraunt or take away this a good place to visit. We have been several times. Friendly staff and good prices.

Called in on the off chance one Friday as the Penny Farthing pub next door was too busy - poppadoms were a little chewy rather than crispy and my main course, although tasty, left a very chalky texture in my mouth. My daughter had a Tikka main which was excellent along with 2 sides which were equally as good.

My parter and I often go here for a curry. When collecting it, we are always welcomed politely and offered a beverage whilst they bring out our food. The staff are extremely friendly and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I was at first saddened to go out to eat where the fabled Massey Ferguson factory once stood. My Dad and many friends spent many happy years working there. But life goes on and being back in town I was also interested to see how the site had been developed. Having spent the 80's and 90's in numerous "Curry Houses" in Coventry, I was curious how the quality would compare. It was first class. Simon took tremendous care of us. His customer service was excellent. The Rupee Special (chicken, prawns and lamb) was fabulous.

This is a small restaurant on Bannerbrook Park with table service or takeaway available. I thought the restaurant was nice inside and the staff were friendly and professional.I ordered a takeaway and it was okay but not very memorable. I had Chicken Biryani and a Saag Paneer side dish. The Biryani was overcooked, too salty and lacked any depth of flavour or any sophisticated ingredients. Some restaurants do Biryani well and others shortcut the lengthy cooking process. I felt the latter was the case here. I also thought the paneer was too salty.Friends of mine have recommended this restaurant and it seems to have good reviews, perhaps the chef was having an 'off day'!I'm glad there is an Indian restaurant here because there aren't many in this area of Coventry and I will definitely return. Next time I'll try a curry dish.

Went hear last highly on spec, but had heard good reports about it. Welcoming atmosphere when you arrive and everyone very polite. Service very good and never at any point did we feel rushed. Food excellent and I had the prawn puri starter and then chicken bunai for main and fiancé had masala. All the food was excellent and I would highly recommend this place and will happily go there again. Not overly expensive either.

We use this restaurant as a takeaway twice a month, and are always pleased with the food. The restaurant is really nice, and pleasant, and the staff are always helpful.

I visited this restaurant and was not impressed at the slow service of the food. When ordered The lamb tawa I was asked if I wanted it soft. I said yes but when it arrived it was very tough could just about cut it with a knife. We called the manager and explained about them lamb he said that is how it was meant to be. Anyway we changed the dish for a paneer. We ordered another nan but that took ages to come, by that time the food had gone cold. We had to ask where the naan was? It looked as if they had forgotten. When the naan did come, it was undercooked. Not happy. Have been to a lot of Indian restaurants before not had this type of service before. Won't be going back.

I use to love this place! Recently has dropped standards and failed on a few occasions with regards to service and food. So many places in Coventry are much better now. From being a regular customer my family, friends and I now go elsewhere. Don't rush your food when too busy for you own good and take care of your customers! Will never visit again

My partner and I visited quite late on Friday night and weren't sure if they would be willing to accommodate us, but they did. We were served by several different members of staff who were all friendly and very efficient. We had a bottle of Sauv Blanc which was very reasonably priced, followed by a lamb masala, chicken jalfrezi and sides. The food was gorgeous. We asked for chillies in the masala and they obliged, and the sauce was very thick and tasted fantastic. The interior of the restaurant is also very nice. Really enjoyed, we will be visiting again. Same as last review - totally shocking.Ordered 2 wraps said I would be 20 mins - restaurant empty.Sat there fir another 25 mins then they give me 2 wraps took them home totally soggy loads of excuses from tikka sauce to having salad in it.This wrap wasn't a bit damp this was soaked.Can't understand - food is great as a sit in meal and the manager did give me full refund but just really went to far and I'm now if to KFC very p****d offNever again

This restaurant is on my doorstep, but unfortunately I wouldn't use them if the food was free! Ordered my food by phone asked how long it would be and was told 45 minutes. Almost to the minute I arrived and waited a further 30 minutes! Then got home to find the food was cold! Arrogant 'Manager' insisted on the phone that it couldn't be cold!

We went here for my father's birthday. The food was great and the people were very helpful. Plan to return very soon.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening here. The restaurant wasn't busy as we arrived, but the ambiance was spot on. Doesn't feel as though you're in the middle of a new housing estate. I have been twice to eat in, both times received excellent service and good food. It came to ~£40 for a meal for two including drinks. Good curry portion sizes but I would recommend getting a naan and rice per person rather than sharing. I intend to visit again.

Visited with my best friend who lives on Bannerbrook. I was sceptical as I have a favourite place for a curry in Coventry, but this was close/ convenient and after checking the Scores on the Door (hygiene score) which was 5/5 I went along. The staff were incredibly friendly, the food was GREAT, the service was good, the toilet was spotless and the price was much less than I expected. I'll be going back with my husband soon!

Was my first visit in person. Love their food & will definitely go back to have a meal in the restaurant. Staff are friendly. Can't fault the food, always great. Would recommend.

Visited with friends and at best it's average. Service was average, they seem to not understand the menu, they tried to take the main order but we were still waiting for drinks. My food was good, if a little on the oily side. My wife's only tasted of tomato with no spice or curry flavour, not what you expect. Restaurant is nice inside but as the tables are packed in it's very noisy.

Stayed local and didn't like the look of the deep fried slop from the hotel, so checked Google for well rated Indian nearby. This was just a case of pick one, and to be honest we did damn well.Seated in no time at all, starters were spot on. Not hurried at all, main course was even better. I went for Aloo Chatt and Bhuna chicken with plenty of Nan bread. All the others had various dishes and everyone very satisfied. Couple of beers each and bill came to just over 83stg. Great value, good grub, very happy. Good banter from staff too. Definitely recommend it.

Always acknowledge as you walk in, great atmosphere, lovely food, friendly service, not the quickest as it's cooked fresh. Been as a couple or as a large party always the same level of service.

I went here with my girlfriend on a Friday night and we didn't book a table and they seated us after a couple of minutes.Had a couple of drinks, poppadoms and main meals and bill was very reasonable.Atmosphere was nice, interesting stuff on the walls and the staff were extremely polite and helpful.I do love this place!

I went here and ordered a pathia, it came out from the kitchen after about 45 mins. I don't know why because I was the only one in there. When I got home (I live across the road from the curry house, Astoria drive)it was freezing cold and i drove back home. so I put it in the microwave. I will never be going back here.

We normally go with our relatives from Australia, and the owner welcomed us a very good meal and starters with excellent staff Paul

Excellent service and wide ranging menu, all of my favourites were on the menu as well as the standards.

I'm a regular customer here, visiting at least once a month. Staff are always friendly and the food is always delicious. I often try a new dish each time I go and haven't had a bad one yet!

This place is excellent great service amazing food.We all really enjoyed our meals.Great atmosphere in the restaurant the staff were very friendly, its just a really nice place to eat.Will definitely be back.
