Rupali Tandoori Take Away in Croydon

I drove to the take-away ordered & waited for my order which was only a Chicken Vindaloo & Keema Nan Bread. The food was cooked very quickly & I drove straight home . The curry lacked any spice really , I almost think I got given the wrong dish ? The nan was OK & had some lamb in it & was larger than expected.

Great service from Mr. Khan who is always highly hospitable and goes out of his way for his customers. I highly recommend the lamb biryani (the lamb is superbly tender!) and the Chicken Jalfrezi is out of this world. The tandoori chicken is highly fragrant and full of flavour! Keema nan's are packed with meat (unlike many other takeaways whereas the very minimum is put it). Ruchi Rupali is no.1 in my book right now for the perfect curry! Keep up the good work guys! A+++

Being of Bengali descent can often be fussy about Indian food, however, I must say since coming under new ownership last year this place has come on leaps and bounds. Perfect for when we can't be asked to cook after a long day. Food is great, and I like that they listen to any requested, adaptations. Service was quick and we weren't waiting too long. Prices are extremely reasonable. Shall continue being a loyal regular for sure! Thx! p.s. I believe it is now called Ruchi Rupali

food was 15 mins late and it wasn’t hot flavours were still amazing but let down by it being late and not hot

The Vindaloo, Madras and Rogan curries orders were very tasty with good portions provided and not very oily. Tried many Indian takeaways in Croydon , Rupali quite simply the best in a class of its own !

I never leave reviews but this restaurant deserve one after today. Just Eat system was playing up and my order wasn’t confirmed after ordering. Called the restaurant to confirm. Guy on the phone apologised, called me back 10 minutes later after speaking to just eat to confirm my order over the phone. No delays to the order and the food was delicious and hot. Definitely recommended.

Recently I had Rupali for dinner. Ordered some lamb sheekh, chicken jalfrezi, papad, naan bread, raita. Food was outstanding and in a good portion as well. Their naan bread is a bit sweet for me, but not that i complain much. The food is still a good value for money. Rupali has new management recently and they dont compromise on quality, in fact food has become better. Definitely recommend their food. Will definitely return 👍👍

Being a massive Indian food fanatic we were overjoyed to stumble across this superb restaurant. It has remained our first choice when ordering in for some considerable years. The food has always been amazing and used to be delivered on time. Recently the wait is getting longer and longer and, although we have no problem waiting for fresh food to be cooked to order, waiting nearly an hour and a half mid week seems slightly excessive. I hated not tipping the driver when it eventually arrived, as I'm sure it wasn't his fault, but felt the need to express my dissatisfaction in some way. I'm now left with the dilemma of whether to look elsewhere for my Indian fix! Probably one of the best things about Croydon is its abundance of eateries so finding another to try shouldn't be too hard. I am, if nothing else, honest and loyal though so may give them the opportunity to redeem themselves in a few months and see if they've got their act together on the timing issues. Another improvement I'll be looking at before trying them again is their hygiene rating which has fallen well below par, this wasn't reflected in the quality of food I received when it eventually arrived but definitely something that needs to be addressed.

We ordered the food for 7.30pm but it turned up at 6.30pm just as we had put our baby in the bath. The food was delicious but just a little disappointed that it was cold due to having to clean feed and put the baby to sleep before we could eat our food.

The biryani was not authentic. It had chick peas in it and chicken was fried and just mixed with rice. Delivery was on time but food quality was not good.

I use rupali pretty much every week and must say that the quality of the food seems to be going down hill lately. The korma was sickly sweet and half the usual portion size, the onion bahjis were tuff and burnt, the aloo gobi didn't have much taste again a lot smaller portion size and not to mention the completely wrong drink delivered. It's a shame as it's been my goto Indian takeaway for about 4 years now but think it's time to check out somewhere new as each week I'm being left disappointed by more and more.

waiting an hour and a half from ordering is not acceptable. calling to be told it's on it's way without even knowing my name or address is ridiculous. then having my food thrust at me just takes the mick. food was average and warm. what a shame. won't be ordering again

food was delivered over 30 mins late, ordered 4 tikka masalas and found it wasn't as nice as I've had from there before and wasn't as creamy as usual. poppadoms and nann bread were nice and rice was ok. Got a free bottle of coke but would have also liked a free mint sauce, chutney and little salad as other takeaways often give you

poor customer service skills, I got shouted at down the phone because my order was wrong. food Did not come on time, delivery driver couldn't find my house. which resulted in my walking 15mins down the road. food was thrown in the bin. strongly advise against ordering from here!

Not up to usual standard this time. Chapattis not the best and papadoms tasted like they'd been fried in very old oil.

Delivery was 25 minutes late. Food was unpleasant and most of it went in the bin. The Tarka Daal was especially unpleasant, as were the popadoms which just tasted of oil and left a bad taste. Would not recommend.

They forgot one of the dishes. Paid by card to Just Eat so can't get my money back. ?

Found this Indian takeaway a couple of months ago and now it is our regular. The food is always on time, piping hot and of good quality. Definitely the best Indian takeaway around.

Delivery arrive at 10.05 some 45 mins later than they said. The starters were barely warm and the curry was just about warm.

Was over 1/2 an hour late. Did not taste as fresh as normal, Sag Aloo stale. Too much ghee, had leaked through the bag and dishes were swimming in it. Called to ask where delivery was and was told I will check where the driver is and the phone hung up. Have used Rupali for some time however will be sadly looking for another option.

Didn't even want to give a star. Since I own 4 restaurant and a chef as I am. I know how the food quality should be, the food I got was cooked in old oil and tasted horrible normally you get popadom free I had it pay.. money was not the issue, it just tasted horrible and tasted reused oil again. You get that horrible after taste. I especially left a note when should be delivered and it was delivered an hour early and my friend and me had to eat our food cold. I'm staying in De vere in Selsdon estate 5 star hotel where I have no option of warming up my cold food. I spoke to the restaurant about this and they were very rude and unprofessional. So disappointed with service and food will never recommend absolutely awful. No stars

The food arrived in time but strangely the Briyani with a few pieces of l meat than usual and no popadam or mint sauce or salad which I usually get with my direct orders. When phoned to tell them my dissatisfaction, the person was not interested. I told him that he has lost his long standing customer, he did not even slightly felt bad. I believe this is a new management, the previous staff were nice and polite and very keen to keep their customers happy. I know this take away for many years and now they lost their customer .

Normal really like Rupali. But I wasn't pleased with waiting two hours for the most simplistic food order to arrive. The restaurant wasn't helpful when I called either. Usually my normal Indian takeaway that I used but I'm not looking elsewhere.

Ordered a takeaway & it arrived almost an hour early when I wasn't in?! Completely ruined the night rushing back to eat knowing if we sent it back they would just reheat the same old food. I called rupali and the man who answered the phone was extremely rude & unhelpful, his words were "why are you calling me?'" You have been warned - this place is a joke!

delivery was over an hour late. they also missed a dish. they then said they would deliver the missing dish within half hour. 40 mins later they said they were too busy to deliver it. absolute joke. food was nice but im not giving them anything more than combined one star for this. we spoke to them 3 times and they just lied each time.

It's about finding the right dishes with this place I try something new each time and now building my favs. Definitely one of the better and more authentic Indian takeaways around.

Half hour late. No apology. A huge amount of onion in Karahi Chicken. Limp lamb chops., again buried in onion. Won't be ordering from there again.

Lamb tikka and Chicken tikka starters absolutely delicious. Daal tasty but way too liquid/watery. some dishes hotter than expected, too hot for some people to eat.

Just ordered a curry 3-12-2016, on eating discovered the Kufta Bhuna was a onion mush that did not resemble a curry as there was no visible mince meat balls at all, on contacting the shop 'Anan' told me they were very busy and to remind them on my next order and they would do something. The remaining meal was artificial lacking in flavour and meat and floating in excessive gravy. The meal cost me £35.00 and I totally disgusted, needless to say I will not be returning . Be warned !!!

Just ordered a takeaway meal. 2 courses. The starter was prawn on purée, it wa so salty I just couldn't eat it. I've also ordered chicken tikka masala but can't eat it at the moment til I get rid of the salty taste

We are regular customers and this place normally comes up about right for the money. No surprises just good solid curry house. Good value and it will always keep our custom as the "go to" place to order.

We have ordered from here many times and the food is always excellent. However last nights chicken tikka masala was too spicey for me & my daughter to eat. Such a disappointment.

It was very good and value for money

In general the food was very nice, however the Korma that I ordered consisted of literally 4 cubes of chicken and 95% sauce. This was the same for the prawn curry my boyfriend ordered too, predominantly sauce and not enough prawn! Doubt I will be ordering from here again!

The food was bland, taste less Briyani had no flavour . Poor taste and every dish was just fully of tomatoes and onions but no spicy or taste. A word of advice never order there Briyani and lamb puri

Can't express how bad my experience was ordering from this place. New to the area and a new customer was treated appallingly. I ordered a madras with rice, ice cream and a chilli naan bread. Firstly I was given an alternative flavour to the ice cream I originally ordered AFTER I paid for it! But was willing to let that go. But it all went down hill once the food arrived, rice was dry, vegetables were clearly from a packet not freshly chopped at all, madras was far too spicy and no flavour at all just burning of the tongue. I called the restaurant straight away explaining my issues and was offered a fresh order but by this point it was late and just wished to have a refund. I hadn't even eaten the food it was that poor, I was told a manager would call me back which they didn't. So I got in touch with justeat who called the restaurant and they gave a stubborn attitude to them over the phone refusing to give a refund even once the supervisor got involved. I then called the restaurant again myself to reason with them and asked why the manager didn't call me back, the question was ignored, and I was told that a madras does come hot as if I didn't know that already, as I always order a madras as I enjoy spicy food but never have I experienced one like that before which was unbearable to eat. I was refused a refund due to them never having bad reviews before, yet that's clearly beyond the point I am a new customer whose not been given good standards of service! If you have such a good reputation of your restaurant, staff and service then what's £11 worth, just goes to show its all about money not customers happiness. In the end I was given fresh food as that was the only alternative and it came slightly less spicy yet still lacking in flavour. Will never use again!!

The meal was tasteless and delivered to the wrong address!

We have had two takeaways from Rupali in the recent weeks. By far the best in the area. Starters and mains decent sizes and extremely tasty. Look forward to having plenty more in the future.
