Rupali Ruchi Indian Takeaway in Croydon

After eating a takeaway Chicken Dansak and sag bhaji from Rupali on Tuesday 27th August I felt ill and had terrible diarrhoea the next day and it is still continuing as I write this. I have liked Rupali takeaways for some years now but after this it is very doubtful I will do so again.

I had 2 chicken wrap never again i’m sorry but this food makes me feel sick I don’t normally give a bad review to anybody but i’m a little bit upset about it

There is confusion already via Just Eat as there are two profiles with slight differences in the menus and difference in the prices between the two menus...What for? Everything is coming out of the same address and the same kitchen I presume?... One supplier is called Rupali Ruchi, the other one is called Ruchi, same address. We ordered from Ruchi Now, that's how it can confuse not only customers but maybe the cooks in the kitchen too. One item in the order was wrong and overpriced because a similar dish is proposed at Rupali Ruchi but smaller in size and in price, we have been delivered the small one but paying the price of the dish we actually ordered in Ruchi which is double the price. We just wanted the correct portion we ordered for the money we paid from the real place we ordered from. Another item in the order was missing. The quality of the food is very good though.

Ordered from here twice now and the food is unreal! Amazing portion size, plenty of meat in the curry’s and both times foods come hot. Really impressed 👍🏼

The best takeaway in South Croydon! Excellent service, speedy turn around time and so much food for the prices. Ordered for a part of 8 and they came very quickly with tons of different orders. Everyone had delicious meals, sides and naan. Can’t recommend enough!

Ordered Chicken Biryani, it’s the worst I have had in London! Dry and flavourless, curry given with the Biryani was full of oil and potatoes and spilled all over!! Never ordering again from here.

Food is amazing!! Just moved to South Croydon, recently, and i was looking for tasty Indian food and found this place by accident on my way home. The staff are polite and welcoming. I highly recommend this takeaway😊

Best curry in South Croydon in an area that has a good few options. We switched to this from Sanderstead Tandoori a few years ago when they were still on station approach & haven’t thought about changing since. Great, fresh tasty food that can suit those who like mild, medium or spicy curries with some great options not always seen elsewhere. Service is great & value is amazing. Thoroughly recommend

This is my absolute favourite Indian takeaway in croydon. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! The food is authentic, which seems to be hard to find now a days. The Service also great!! Next time you feel like a Indian I recommend you order from here, you won’t be disappointed.

We use Rupali on a regular basis and tonight we had 15 friends around for dinner so a big order and they were fantastic, placing the order was very easy great Communication very good waiting time, not one thing missing they even put in extras, the food has loads of flavour.I would recommend anyone to give them a try you won’t be disappointed. 5 Stars from us warren and family 👍.

Best curry in Croydon best value for money

This is my go to curry house, better than any restaurant I know (including eat on one's!) They also do loads of work in the community and provided free meals for local people during the lockdowns. Awesome place well worth a look!

Good local takeaway! Never a miss - their prawn biryani is my absolute favourite. Great service also and reasonably priced. I’m abit of a fuss pot when it comes to Indian food but I have not been let down by this place yet!

Best takeaway curry in croydon 100 per cent

Ordered a takeaway. I ordered a 'special' which stated it came with 'rice, vegetable curry and a naan'. It was slightly higher cost than other mains. It came with NONE OF THESE! This left me without a naan bread and other food. Called restaurant and driver - they didn't bother to answer. The food was just about okay, my 'special' was very tomatoey without any real flavour and my partner's tikka masala tasted strongly of almonds and not much else. These are DISHONEST people - DO NOT RECOMMEND and will never order from them again!

Recently moved back to Croydon and ordered a takeaway from here after moving boxes into my new flat all day (found this place randomly on UberEats). So happy I did! It was truly glorious. Everything was so delicious and fragrant. Poppadums were crisp and not at all oily. The pathia, dhansak and sabzi malai were amazing. I have since ordered from here a few more times and will continue to do so!

ZERO STARS FOR THESE GUYS..sadly. I was a regular until last night when there was an issue with my order. It was ordered as delivery...but then showed up as a collection. I was on the phone to the US at the time, so I could not go to the restaurant. I phoned the restaurant and the guy who answered was really angry. I stayed polite until he used the F word!!! & told me to shut up & that I talk too much...then put the phone down on me lol Obviously I didn't go & collect the order...don't want food cooked in that energy. So will never use the restaurant again. When I spoke to deliveroo they didn't want to refund my money ether. When I informed them papers would be filed at the local court house in the morning....not for the £11 but to make their lives difficult they refunded me!! Seems Deliveroo are not to fussy about customer satisfaction or whom they work with. As for Rupali Ruchi...if you want good wholesome food that will satisfy just your body...go ahead but food is SO much more than that. I would have expected guys from their cultural program to understand this....

If your looking for a great quality curry then give these guys a try. I went for the Garlic Chilli Chicken, sauce was nice and thick and the chicken was fresh unlike others I’ve tried. Garlic bread was spot on and the tandoori dishes all cooked perfect without drying them out. All in all me and my wife loved the food and will be returning again soon.

The butter chicken was so delicious.. It was creamy and smooth with almondy sweet flavor

Outstanding Curry! Great service from Mr. Khan who is always highly hospitable and goes out of his way for his customers. I highly recommend the lamb biryani (the lamb is superbly tender!) and the Chicken Jalfrezi is out of this world. The tandoori chicken is highly fragrant and full of flavour! Keema nan's are packed with meat (unlike many other takeaways whereas the very minimum is put it). Ruchi Rupali is no.1 in my book right now for the perfect curry! Keep up the good work guys! A+++

The new guys have taken over only a couple of months ago and the food is absolutely delicious!! I have ordered many many curries in and around Croydon and this is by far the most authentic and flavoursome by far and the customer service is on point too. Keep it up

This take away is now home of Rushi Indian Take Away that used to be on Station Parade next to Sanderstead Station. Never been disappointed with their food and prices, and just had my first take away from their new place it was as good as it has always been.

Don't listen to the other reviews, they are inaccurate! This Indian is the VERY BEST I have ordered from and believe me, I am the Takeaway King! Chicken is always SUPER tender. The spices and ingredients are beautiful EVERYTIME. NO OTHER Indian takeaway I have EVER come across has such consistency with their food. Lateness - from the other reviews, lets be real, it happens from time to time, so really shouldn't justify a 1 star ;) Order, you won't regret it!

Great food and service order regularly

This place was recommended to us by a relative so we thought we'd give it a try. Delivery was late and the 2 main dishes at the bottom of the bag were squashed leaking curry sauce everywhere. Unfortunately it got worse. All the dishes were saturated in oil. We skimmed as much as we could off the top and tried to make the best of it. The peshwari nan was tough as old boots and totally inedible. That went straight to the bird table. On the plus side the chicken madras was good chicken and quite a pleasant flavour. Had it not been swimming with oil it think it would have been quite nice. The king prawn madras however was quite different. The sauce was watery and the so called King Prawns were small pieces of tough hard material which I cannot believe was ever a king prawn. The fact that there was very little of it made no difference as it was all heading for the bin. The aloo gobi was just an unappetising mush that tasted again of nothing but oil. The rice was edible and mildly amusing. 2 cardamoms and a splash of red food dye.The tarka daal was a good flavour if a little under seasoned. And last but not least was the mushroom bhaji which was cooked with onions. It was lacking in any seasoning and again too much oil. However it was resurrected with some salt and pepper and then had a nice mushroom flavour. In conclusion if all you eat is chicken madras and maybe on a good day they don't saturate it with oil then it would be fine. It's time take aways realised that we don't want food swimming in oil. It's just lazy and bad cooking. I cannot recommend this take away particularly as my wife went hungry that night. It is currently a one star rating. It could so easily be a lot better but until then I will not be going back. I hope this is useful.

Normally food is good but this is the first time the food was very oily and salty very disappointing. Spoke to manager but he did not any consoladation. Hopefully this will not happen again

The best curry we have found in the local area on just eat website. Predictable and reliable quality dishes, with good authentic taste and not too much oil. Sometimes the naan bread can be a little crusty around the edges, but the rest of the experience more than makes up for it.

Always ordered from this place but I must say today will be the last day!! Normally Salim is there who is always great but today somene else was on the counter and such a shameful poor absolutely arrogant customer service. My mistake was to ask if it was busy. And the icong on the cake of this poor service was that this person hung up the phone while i was asking him to be polite. Will never order again from Ruchis!!!! Very annoyed customer.

Cheap but superb food. Recommended.

This is a tiny take-away-only place right next to Sanderstead station. The most important criterion is of course: how does it taste? Answer: superb. You find out why when you watch the cooks in their open kitchen. Simply amazing ... heaps of spices are waiting, liberally used and continually refreshed...flames leap high from the pans (absolutely spectacular to watch). I have learned that here, it is safe to try new things on a regular basis.I love this place.
