Small cod and chips and 10 spicy wings. Only good bit was the chips. Fish was over cooked and soaked in oil. Batter was flat and soggy. Looked like yesterday’s refried. Spicy wings were awful. So over cooked that there was no chicken left on the bone just fried skin so hard it was in edible. Worst meal I’ve had for a long while.

Can't rate atmosphere as it is mainly a takeaway, but, great food, friendly service. Definitely use again! Update; Have used it again..... still excellent 👌

They are a fantastic group of folks in there. I've been a patron for years since moving to town! Food is great, and always fresh!

I think its one of the best kebabs in newmarket. One of the few that has chicken doner.

Very friendly, and although they don't usually serve a cup of tea, they made one for me. Nice fish, lovely chips.

We had a large order 10 fish and chips sasauges in batter chicken mushy peas plus pies chips girkins keabs orderd for 6pm pick up I was not disappointed everything hot order was for 20 people cost around £10 per head I had Fish fantastic total order £153:00 got free drinks too I would order again

Rumbles has an extensive take away menu so we wondered whether this was Jack of All Trades, Master of None. But the fish and chips were superb. Light well cooked batter, very white tasty haddock and perfect chips. We have not had better. What a pleasant surprise

Some of the most disgusting fish and chip shop food ever. A battered sausage, the batter so thick it was like fatty wet cake on the inside and tough as leather outside. Sweaty floppy chips. Both elements oozing grease. Never again!

Oh man. 9 quid for 1 fish no chips and 1 curry sauce. Imagine my surprise after I unwrapped it. Small, hard, battered fish skin hardly any meat. Dripping with fat. Terrible.

As far as the food was concerned it was awful. The only good points here were the friendly chaps behind the counter and a reasonably clean looking shop. Not one on our return visit list. Food ordered Large Cod and Chips Mixed Chicken and Lamb Doner Kebab Meat with Garlic Sauce and Salad Total cost £24.30 Having had considerable experience in this field in my past, I fail to see how fish and chips can be made so badly. The fact it was extremely greasy aside, both the cod and chips had an old musty taste reminiscent of an unloved, damp caravan. A yellow tinge to the fish and a sorry grey look to the chips. The flesh of the fish was over cooked and grainy in texture and the chips were hard and dry. A couple of mouthfuls was all I could manage before wrapping it back up and popping back in the bag, hopeful that the kebab meat was better. Very bland chicken meat and rubbery lamb Doner did nothing to erase the disappointment of the previous sampling. The lettuce and onion were both fresh and crisp though and the garlic sauce nice but more herby than garlicky. The two guys behind the counter were friendly, well presented in their whites and service was excellent and the overall cleanliness appeared good with all surfaces wiped clean and everything neatly organised. The price for this offering was just as hard to swallow.

Best Fish and Chip shop in Newmarket this place is so nice with great service much better than the other shop in town who cooks to order making customers wait ages. A definite YES from me !

I had doner meat and chips wife hat chicken shish kebab and chips and they were quite good the chips were nice and the meat was not bad at all the Chilli had a nice kick

Quite nice. Plenty of Chippys in this town, but this is one of the better ones. Decent serving of chips and fish is nice, but rare to get fish straight out of the fryer

Situated near the clock tower at the top of the High Street, we called by for a Large Cod, Scampi and Chips. Wonderful large piece of fish, well cooked chips. Took it up the road to park in the car next to the Gallops, which are free to the public after 1pm. Would recommend it.

We had a kebab and chips from here, it really was not nice, I’m not sure what they did with the meat but it seemed to have herbs and spices added which made it taste horrible, the texture really was not nice either. The chips were ok.

Tried the new order online tonight and was extremely disappointed when I got home to see how much smaller the large COD was compared to before. I normally share it with my husband but this one was only enough for one person but price was the same. Value has gone for me.

Tonight went to get some food, lge diner chips, fish/chips and curry sauce, got home missing curry sauce, fish had a bone in it, chilli sauce was awful then forgot curry sauce , food awful

The staff are friendly and helpful, the portions generous and the fish and chips are always beautifully cooked. I now visit pretty much every week - an old fashioned treat every time. Highly recommended

Fast, nice food and people's working there.

Clearly a local favourite, and can see why! The chips are lovely and the fish (went for cod) even more so. Everything was really hot and fresh. Served by two members of staff at once which made for a very quick and efficient transaction. Lovely setting around the immediate area to sit on a bench and enjoy your dinner.

Nice enough staff and good parking generally. Fish pieces are rather too large for individual servings I find.

Due to lock down our golf society could not get a meal after our round, so ask the very friendly staff at Rumbles if they could help us out and nothing was too much for them. We picked up the 28 Fish and Chips took them back to pub garden and they were wonderful not a bit greasy. Not one complaint 28 happy golfers and wives.

We have visited this chippie for take-away only a couple of times and so far we are happy. However, parking in this part of Newmarket is almost impossible with double yellow lines everywhere even on side roads. It takes two of us to buy our take away or a lucky space in designated parking some while away. Great location, very visible but ..,

I went in waited in the que just as it come to my turn 2 people came in who the server knew and he served them before me ignoring me then chatting with them leaving me waiting i walked out ill never return again i spend 12 quidish a week on my order there prob not a great loss to them but it is a loss of custom and respect will not use again

Just horrible greasy horrible oil the sausages were so bad couldn’t eat I never before have chucked so many chips and one and a half sausage away was that bad . I was looking foreword to try this chippy as drive past all the time at work was very poor !!

Well worth a visit, cooked fresh and before your eyes, super quality fish, chips and sausages, also does pies, chicken nuggets chicken, and salad, there is a strong Turkish link as the staff are Turkish and proud of there heratige and service skills , we often use this fish bar

Good service and excellent food. However like all chip shops, can be a bit greasy at times during a rush period. Best one in Newmarket though in my opinion. The portions are enormous so will satisfy the most hungry appetite.

We were so looking forward to fish and chips and were disappointed. Lots of grease, fish overcooked and only warm and the chips were just about cooked. Don't think we will be back just not good enough - sorry.

No frills fish bar, but the food is great. The Fish was freshly cooked and the chips were hot. The seating is basic but you can look out on the high street.. The staff were happy and pleasant so I would definitely go back

I had fish and chips here but they also do really nice Shish Kebabs, burgers and so on.I had a large cod and chips which was really nice. The only criticism I have is that the curry sauce was not that good. I ordered quite a lot of other things as well and the price was really cheap.

Good fish and chips for £7. Service is always good and the food is hot and tasty. Well worth a recommendation. These guys close about 11pm so no late night Kebab from here :(

Husband just arrived home with a take away - quarter pounder & chips and they forgot to put the burger in the bun....but remembered a piece of tomato and lettuce

If you can mange to find somewhere to park up you are on to a winner. Really tasty food and quick service. Cod is huge too and generous chip portions make this a must try.

The size of the portions here are something to behold! A medium cod often ends up being served as two not exactly small cod! Probably the best fish and chips in town.

Their food is really nice I've been there quite a few times but the biggest problem is parking to get to it a lot of people just pull up outside on yellow lines causing traffic problems, but the nearest sensible place to park is 200m+ away so you have to rush so your food doesn't get cold, you're in a bit of a pickle if it rains, other than that it's worth people taste testing

Great chip shop in Newmarket. Personally I think it is a tad pricey for fish and chips... however it is tasty.

A lovely clean takeaway with plenty of choice average pricing polite efficient staff. I highly recommend the chicken shish, freshly cooked in front of me very tasty and full of fresh salad. Chips were very nice too.

a wide choice of food as well as fish & chips. prices about the same everywhere but you really do get a large portion for you money. fish is always cooked well and not too greasy and always more chips than one can eat. staff very friendly though not always good at speaking English. shop always very clean.
