Just been to Sconce Park with my husband and granddaughter and was hoping for a peaceful coffee in the sunshine. However, the loud and obtrusive music blaring out from loud speakers put us off completely. It’s the volume, not the music. Turn it down!! I don’t know how the local residents can stand it and I’d be complaining if I lived near there. Sad really.

No vegan options. Nothing. Had run out of plant milk. Black coffee which was ok and sat outside in the sun. Thankfully I’d taken some home made flap jack to share so we didn’t go hungry. Will try again if they start offering some vegan options. Otherwise we will head off to the allotment in Collingham the next time we come for the parkrun. 😉

Went with some archaeology colleagues to look at the Queen's Sconce, had scones ( from Rumbles) on the sconce. Nice china if you eat in, will give you a paper bag to take out. Proper friendly staff, scone homemade and tasty none of your whippy can cream, the real stuff. And I also had a sneaky sausage roll too. Recommended.

At the present there is no indoor seating available. We made the most of the beautiful sunshine by having our drinks at one of the outside tables which overlook the park. Enjoyed a decent coffee served by a polite and friendly member of staff.

I went in there today. Ordered a cob and then watched the chefpull his pants up. Then pat a cob with the same hands. Make several chip cobs. Wipe his hands on the apron. Cook chips and sausages together then split them and tben recook on a hotplate thay needed isolating from the black egg he had just removed. I waited 15 minutes for a cob which hadnt even been started in all that time of handling food. I NEVER ONCE saw him wash his hands. So for a cafe i feel sorry for the customers . I also liked the look of the cakes scones etc and a fab looking Apple pie. None of it covered and it being a warm day all in all not a good place to dine on a very busy day. Thank goodness the wait was so long i got my money back from the cob i ordered and left not a happy bunny

Rumbles is a social enterprise cafe in the popular Queens Sconce park which has a good playground beside it and plenty of room to stretch legs and walk the dog. It gives an opportunity for social intereaction and employmnet for people with learning difficulties and for that reason alone is worth supporting. However coffee is pretty good for an autimatic machine and Im pretty picky. The scones and cakes looked good and the 2 size cooked breakfasts are very good value. Radio Newark plays ovwr speakers abd TV on wall plays Sky news with subtitles inside. Outside there is are plenty of tables for a fine day.

Coffee cost £1.70 and was very weak, like the coffee pot had been topped up with just hot water, won't bother again.

Cafe serving light meals, cakes, snacks, ice creams and beverages. Good all day breakfasts and sausage and bacon cobs. Sat outside on a lovely day after taking the grandson around Sconce Park. Inside seating also. Not surprisingly frequented by visitors to the park, joggers and cyclists. A social enterprise that really works. Pleasant staff, keen to please, table service. Great

Small cafe that does a good breakfast. Homemade cakes and scones are great but unless the sun is shining and you can dine al fresco the indoor area only seats about 18.

Waited half an hour in the queue (standing up which I can't for long as I'm disabled) to get to the till to be told they are only serving bacon and sausage. I'm vegetarian. Then told I can't buy my drink either because it wasn't over £5. Absolutely fuming. There was various other food advertised and no warning of this.

We visited here in June and was a nice day my 4 year old son played on the adventure park up the climbing frame and on the slide, then we went to rumbles for ice cream. We was created with a fantastic smile and happiness the 2 ladies behind the counter were polite and really patient while my son chose his flavour of ice cream. Also what I found great was they had employed a lovely young fella that had special needs and he was great very polite and his concentration in his work was second to none. It was also a weekend where there was a small jumble sale outside which made it very nice. Great place and couldn't get any better apart from not having enough drying outside when the sun is shining (I know a rare site in the uk)

Great cheese and tomato on toast - two slices of hand cut wholemeal bread with tasty mature cheddar and ample fresh cut tomatoes. All for £2.60. Prepared to order and cooked under a proper grill. Best cheese on toast I have eaten for years. Great atmosphere, nice surroundings.

This is a great little cafe, really appreciated by the community and a great example of lottery funding. It's in the Sconce Park, near the playground area. Staff are friendly and helpful, the food ranges from full on roast dinners to scones and cakes via bacon rolls. Plus tea, coffee, cold drinks etc. Decent clean toilets and water bowls for dogs. We always drop in when we're in the area. Excellent addition to the park with interesting info about the Civil War too.

Had been meaning to give this place a go for weeks, as we constantly drove past the sign. Never got the opportunity for one reason or another. So we took a chance and gave it a whirl on a weekday. It was very nice, welcoming, etc, etc. However, the prices did seem way off the scale for what appeared when the order arrived. It was very expensive and not THAT good to be honest. You don't mind paying a premium when the quality is top notch, but this really wasn't. No better than what you would expect to find in a supermarket and twice the cost. We left bitterly disappointed and still a bit hungry.

I went on sun and they did my daughter's meal wring and then they didn't have any wraps left for her to have it so had to get a refund. Then I ordered my food at 11.27 and asked for a cooked breakfast to be told that had now stopped and was now a carvery which I ordered with a take out coke. Told they would bring out my meat for me. Waited 30 mins for this only not had it brought to me. And during this time I ordered a burger for one of our party and he received that and o was still waiting .Went to complain and ask for my money back only to be told by the the staff that I didn't order one and she was really rude. I explained it was the other girl who served me and told her how I paid and what money I paid with consisted of. Only to be told again I hadn't ordered anything. Then she spoke to the other who confirmed this and she then said she would give me a refund no apology or anything.

I had a coffee and a scone . It is expensive and the scone was ok but nothing special ,it was crumbly . The staff were friendly . It isn’t very smart inside , not because it’s an old building but needs improvement .

First time I ordered a takeaway and my order was not accepted and declined as informed by Just Eat. Ordered well before 4pm but took until gone 6pm for them to decline.

As one earlier contributor mentioned it is ‘card only’ but is clearly stated on the door. What a wonderful pub this is. It’s like stepping back in time and has a super range of draft ales, craft ales, ciders and some stouts too. The beer was excellent and served by knowledgable bar staff who clearly know their subject. The interior of the pub retains a quirky railway theme and it was spotlessly clean and had a good trade mid afternoon on a wet Tuesday. There is plenty of choice for non beer drinkers too. A lovely range of bar snacks available too. A real gem of a pub and I’d strongly recommend a visit to this CAMRA award winning venue.
