Good option getting off the train at 10.30 to pick up supplies for a late supper. A good house biryani.

Tried this place twice. First time was not impressive but others said it was ok so tried again. Second time it was dire. Main curry (chicken madras) was watery and tasteless. Won't bother again.

Incorrect order! Extremely long delivery and very unhelpful staff when I called to ask where my food was! They had run out of chappatis so in exchange gave me a naan bread - I was not notified until after delivery! The only redeeming factor was the quality of the food I did receive! Thoroughly disappointed and extremely displeased with the service!

Best takeaway in Saffron Walden I always order my food from Ruchi their food is lovely especially their curry dishes Lamb Madras.delivery on time with great customer service. Lovely delivery driver old man with smile on face. I highly recommend everyone should try Ruchi curry dishes its lovely worth money as well.

Pedimos y nos dijeron que entrega sería 1 hora y 20 minutos (miércoles)? Después de 1 hora y 40 llamé y me dijeron que sería de 5 minutos. La entrega llegó 45 minutos más tarde. Dado excusas por el conductor sobre el tiempo ( estaba lloviendo) pero no comprar, ya que la comida estaba aún caliente (que no habría sido si estaba en el camino para una hora). Contacto en el restaurante no se disculpó. No es el servicio que estoy acostumbrado.

This used to be so good. Not convinced from the moment our order was taken down incorrectly and had to be repeated - twice. An hour & twenty minutes to deliver to three miles away, early in the evening. When received, the lamb was very 'chewy' and the chicken had a strange 'tang' to it. And it was all cold. We've been so impressed with Ruchi in the past but feel very let down and disappointed by their latest 'performance'. Will not be using again. Awful.

Never again! An hour and half later hung up on twice, it arrives and it's cold!!!! To top it off, we're missing some of the order and the poppadoms are stale!!! Waiting for a call back for a refund....still waiting!!! My 7 year old said that when he becomes a food critic he'd rate this as "super poop!". Totally disappointed and disgusted

I have ordered from Ruchi twice and both times have been left disappointed. This latest time they sent a Balti instead of a Lamb Butter Chicken. They claimed they had 'misheard' what we said but given that the order was made online this seems like a weak excuse. When the butter chicken finally did arrive it was cold, tasteless and undercooked. I will not be eating from this takeaway again.

Amazingly quick delivery, fabulous hot and tasty food. Last time was 55 mins late. But today was very quick. Delivery man said now running by new management. Hope will be delivery allways like 2day. I recommend this indian takeway to everyone.

Food fantastic but took nearly 2 hrs. There was a fire work display on so they said the traffic was bad but the route to my house would have bypassed that. Should have been warned there was going to be a long wait but when ringing chasing my order I kept being told my order had left and it would be 10 mins. I rang up 3 times and was told the same thing each time, it's took another 45mins. Was offered s discount but had already paid through Just Eat. Maybe if I had rang direct I would have got a better service.

Normally extremely good!!!! Had it many times and is normally great! However this time we were given the wrong rice and naan bread! We realise this is not a very common mistake nonetheless it is very annoying!

Food took an hour and 45 mins to be dekivered. When I phoned after an hour and half to chase, I was told "I think it's still on the way to you" - didn't take any of my details or check. When food arrived it was stone cold :(

Handily placed at Audley End station, or even handier at the end of a telephone, Ruchi is excellent. Fresh, tasty (we've tried numerous dishes), generous portions all delivered for 'free' within the local area - what could be better? Great value, try it - you won't be sorry!

Obviously a new delivery driver who has zero local knowledge. We have had deliveries from Ruchi for more than 4 years and never had this many issues in finding our place. Based on this experience we will not be ordering from Ruchi again.

Not had an Indian locally in some time, as the choice and quality in and around Saffron Walden frankly isn't great. But I fancied a curry this week and was going to be driving past the Ruchi on the way home so thought I'd give it another go - hadn't had one from there in at least a year. Lamb tikka pathia was very good - proper pathia sourness to it, plenty of heat and the lamb was good enough. Nice pilau rice and an above average garlic nan. It took a bit longer than the 15-20 minutes suggested, but I'd rather have freshly prepared, tasty, hot food so that wasn't a problem. It delivered on all those. I'll be back for more.

I was disappointed with the food this time because it wasn't very hot, I had to reheat it in the microwave. Driver was very pleasant and the delivery was great.

When you eat here you feel like a Indian Prince , because you are treated like one!! the Service is unbelievable the Décor is First class, all this praise and I have not come to the food yet. It must be without doubt, the most delicious well prepared Indian meal I have ever eaten , the Curry the way the rice was cooked.............I am very sorry I cant go on,as this was from last year and as I have been ill until end of Dec i have not had the chance to go back there. Now talking about it is giving me withdrawal systems, so go there and find out for yourselves and you will agree with me

I've used Ruchi regularly since soon after it opened, and have noticed a slip in standards recently. This time the portion size was mean, and the chicken dry and over-cooked. On my previous two orders there was errors in the order. I hope that this is a temporary 'blip', and that the previous standards are resumed, but fear that the lack of attention to detail may be a symptom of success, and too much business.

Arrived 1.5 hours after ordering, requesting asap. Fell short of predicted delivery by 45 min, so the quality was off par due to the food not being hot, but it was okay and appreciated when eaten.

Not bad at all. I got called out so mine had to go in the oven for a short time but once back it was nice and warm and didn't repeat on me like others have. Poppadoms and bread were really good best I've had for a while not soggy at all. Need to have a few more to be able to recommend but first impressions were good. Delivery driver could have been a little happier but I guess they were busy and it was a little cold so probably wished he was at home having food delivered to him :)

At last I've found a decent curry in Walden. Chicken shatkora hot and sharp as it should be and tandoori roti best I've had. Can't comment on the delivery as I ordered on the train and it was delicious and ready to pick up when I got to Audley End.

After a hour 45 mins for a meal for two, we were offered a 50% discount for our next takeaway. However a discounted meal was delivered 2hrs after the order was placed. Nice food, just order with plenty of time to spare.

I'm very disappointed with the service from Ruchi this time. The takeaway arrived an hour late, it was lukewarm and a Nan bread was missing. Shame because the last time I ordered the meal was fine.

After waiting for 2 hours we sent the order back and refused to take it. I called after a hour and was told 5 to 10 mins. Then called after a hour and 40 mins to be told 5 minutes and not a minute longer. Just over 2 hours it arrived. I would warn people of edge on the side of caution. Unfortunately can't comment on the food.

This is the first time we tried the food from Ruchi and we enjoyed it very much. Tasty currys and extras all prepared promptly for us.

We order regularly from Ruchi and always enjoy the food, meal deal for two is fantastic value and they are happy to swap one of the main dishes for another. Very friendly phone service, deliveries usually arrive before the time they say and delivery drivers polite and friendly too. A great local takeaway.

The only good point was that it was on time.....practically drunk the curry it was that watery! No taste and the side orders are beyond greasy!

Always go back to this as our favourite Indian take away. Always a good hot curry and good sized portions. Delivered promptly

We have been ordering takeaways from Ruchi ever since we moved to the area nearly a year ago. The food was really good and the flavours and service amazing. Some thing has gone very wrong with this place over the last 6 months, as the food has been very oily and substandard. To be honest the co op to a better beef madras! And that's saying something. I ordered my last take away last nite. Over an hour later our cold food arrived. My tikka masala was vile, and my partners vindaloo was swimming in oil. Soggy popadoms and greasy naan. We used to look forward to this treat every fri when you were good. But never again it went straight in the bin!!.

We had another excellent meal delivered home, although it took longer than before.The food was generous and tasty, and the complimentary poppadoms a nice touch. Pricing is still reasonable, and they remember my name & address details from previous orders.

We've ordered lamb dishes with varying ingredients and the lamb is always chewy!!! We've worked it out, just order chicken. Don't know why the lamb is chewy as I'm sure they must slow cook the sauces. Unless they add meat at the final heating process..Anyway, well done Ruchi, our Sunday night treat

Very pleased with the new takeaway at the train station. Very good food, very healthy sized portions. Rice could easily be shared between two. A local treat!!

Having loved the mogul for years, we tried this one night as they deliver. We've never looked back and in fact on two occasions the Mogul was just tasteless on their chicken sashlik.Ruchi has deep flavours, fresh ingredients and they are always very happy to help.We've never had a bad curry from they and were happy to support them. Their killer app is free local deliver.

This has become our favourite indian takeaway. Great that they deliver to the smaller villages and convenient if coming home on the train. Very tasty.

We have used Ruchi for takeaway and delivery a number of times now. We either order for my husband to collect as he gets home on the train (such an inspired business idea) or order their free deliveries. We have also fed a group of 14 people when we had visitors over Christmas, adults and children, and everyone raved about the food. Staff are pleasant and polite, and deliveries arrive within the time schedule given.The food is authentic and delicious, with a few chef's specials to vary the menu. It is not too greasy and we have found plenty of meat in the curries. Portions are generous. Definitely the best curries in the area.

When we first heard they were opening an Indian take away at Audley End station we thought we might use it on an occasional basis when travelling back from London late and not wanting to cook.We were very pleasantly surprised when we first tried it, the food is excellent. So now it has become a firm favourite. Not just for a late night option, we probably make a point of getting a Ruchi every other week. The service is great, we either order from the train, or have a home delivery, either way always right on time, food fresh, hot and very tasty.

We have only recently moved to saffron walden and love eating Indian food so we wanted to check out this new restaurant that delivers. The food was really delicious, yummy sauces, gorgeous starters and the naan was great too! We would highly recommend the food and the staff and delivery service were lovely too!

A new take-away at the station. Sounds like a recipe for success. Home from London and pick up a take away on the way home. For us it was a bit of a disappointment, food was fresh, but there was not a great deal of meat, bulked up with vegetables.Service was very good though.
