Ruby Chinese Takeaway in Birmingham

Umm where to start Rice = good Lemon chicken & orange chicken 2/10 at best flavour of sauces was vile. Chips = chewey and Luke warm Duck 6/10 I am trying to put a positive spin on this but am struggling LOL

Looked at menu online and decided to place order by phone as don't like paying online and prefer face to face. Phoned order, very polite and mentioned the advert at the end of call "TODAYS DISCOUNT 10% off orders above £1". This does not apply he said!!. Arrived to collect and a small notice says 10p if you have carrier. Yes got charged for carrier although not asked if I wanted one. Both false advertising and disappointed. Meal ok

Really disappointing we went off previous reviews, 1st time using this takeaway did not enjoy, chips cold and hard so didn't eat sauces bit insipid, prawn crackers had weird stale oil taste, not very fresh, greasy, wish we'd had the sandwiches we were going to have, won't order again

As a half Cantonese Brummie this is my best local the chow mien with sauce so good . Been a fan for years keep up the good work

I find rubys one off the best chinnese takeaway ever. I am always satisfied with the food I receive and the service. The taste and the quantity is exceptional. 5* ratings, full 100%.

Ordered vegetarian food which was ok, nothing extraordinary but receipt didn't have a proper business name on it. The shop is in Hall Green, there is some parking on layby.

Lovely food, always delivered promptly, really tasty, generous portions and very reasonably priced! We have a meal from there 1-2 time per month and it's always consistently good. Highly recommended!

The food is amazing, and the delivery is quite quick. When Since I have tried their food, I only order Chinese from Ruby's. <3

Called up to order a vegan dish to collect (mixed vegetable vermicelli) and stayed that I am a vegan over the phone. My husband picked up the dish and opened it to find egg inside. I called up again to advise this and was told I should have specified no egg! (egg is not stated that it comes with the dish, I had ordered a vegan dish and also stated I was vegan). I was told to “next time, tell us no egg!” I tried to explain my position and was spoken over and offered no apology. Eventually they agreed to make another dish (of which my husband would have to leave the house to collect again, whilst he was eating his own dish!). As I did not trust them not to spit in dish after this point I asked for a refund - which was refused!!! Disgusting service, will not be using again!

Superb takeaway with polite staff, Food is great and portion sizes are good. Its pleasing that they dont use too much salt like many others do.

Have been using this little gem for some years now. A good choice, keenly priced and delivery always on time. If you want to order something slightly different they will always oblige.

Whenever I fancy some Chinese food, Ruby comes to mind. Reasonable prices, quick delivery and tasty food. I would recommend trying the sate chicken chow mein and the yuk sung !

Have had many take away meals from here over the years. Recent visit was for king prawn curry and egg fried rice. Ordered and watched my food being cooked which only took a few minutes. Quick service and the food was plentiful and tasty being freshly cooked. The prices are good as well so definitely recommended.

never had a bad Chinese from here,you can watch them cook while you wait. they close for a month each year and they are missed great place

Mientras que el llevar ha sido en la Sala Verde durante muchos años, estoy seguro de que ha cambiado de manos varias veces. Los precios han subido y hay precio más bajo disponible localmente para llevar mejor, lo cual es una pena porque el Ruby solía ser el mejor de la ciudad.

Best chinese place in Birmingham. Always go here. They are quick and polite and food is always yummy. Wide selection, there is something for everybody. A regular of ours even though we have moved further away. Well worth the drive.

He estado utilizando el Ruby desde hace ya varios años para nuestras platos de comida y sinceramente puedo decir que no he tenido mejor comida en ningún otro lugar en Birmingham. La calidad es de primera categoría y servicio excelente. El equipo es siempre servicial y obligar con las peticiones especiales. China locales en conjunto un grandes.

Nos trasladamos a Birmingham simplemente hace más de 2 años y después de haber probado casi cada comida para llevar en la zona harborne en ese momento tengo que decir Ruby es el mejor. Nunca tuvimos una mala comida y comida siempre llega a tiempo, a veces más rápido. No usar ningún otro chino para llevar ya que no hay otros pueden comparar!

We moved to Harborne a year ago and after trying a few takeaway places, Ruby's is definitely our favorite.. They are fast and the orders have been always correct... We do not usually have a lot of Chinese food but their Yuk Sung and the crispy shredded duck are pretty good. It's great value too compared to some of the restaurants on the high street. I'd rather pay £20 for 2 people and have a great takeaway than £50 at a restaurant because I could have cooked it better at home.

We decided to try here over a month ago as I realised they would deliver to Shirley. I will get my take always from here now. Great food always tastes great and always on time.

I purchased two takeaway dishes (on a whim) from this takeaway outlet, to add to a M&amp;S Chinese ready meal we were having one evening thinking it would be a great idea. Went in, gave my order to the girl behind the counter and only had to wait about 5 minutes for my food to arrive. What a mistake, it was awful. The tangy spare ribs were vagely tangy, but very dry and the sweet and sour mixed vegetables were just disgusting! The sweet and sour sauce was just like water, none of that lovely sweet and sour sticky sauce that you usually get. Oh yuk - and it absolutely ruined the M&amp;S stuff which was really quite nice and made a nice quick supper for two people. Ruby Takeaway - never again!

Having used this takeaway on many occasions during the last year, I must give it a good review. The food is always good, as is the delivery time.The portions are good and the prices reasonable. Would recommend to give it a try.

Ordered takeout from what is a pretty standard chinese menu. Food arrived promptly and price was good. Food arrived hot and was tasty. Would recommend.
