Yet again taken over by new people, food quality has dropped, prices have gone up, young girl probably 9 or 10 taking card payments over the phone as the adult had difficulty speaking/understanding English. I won't be using again.

Popped in Saturday night. Food was great, polite lady serving and it seems the food is cooked to order.

Totally bland, very expensive and waited almost one and half hours for delivery,, never again 😕,

Disgusting customer service here after waiting 2 hours for the food to arrive which was cold I dared to complain to be told by the manager he never wants to hear from me again. Well let me give you some advice it’s us customers that keep you in business so learn some people skills before you go out of business I have been a loyal customer of yours for years spending a lot of money in your takeaway. My family and friends who order from you weekly will not be ordering from you again you are a disgrace the way you talk to people on the phone!!!

The lady who served me way better then that rude man that normally is at front. Very good service and food as per usual amazing, satay chicken with mushroom fried rice and chinese curry sauce and jil yim chicken with a chicken makau. Amazing served at the right temparature good portion sizez worth the price i dont find it too expensive the food is affordable. The sesame prawn toast is sooo nice.

I bought from here for the first time on Monday and I couldn't believe how delicious the food was it was excellent!! In fact I can't wait for ruby Chinese takeaway to open at 5pm because I will be ordering again.

Great food. Good on price, taste and portions!

I placed my food order via their Website at 8pm and had to call them at 9pm to enquire about its whereabouts! The person on the phone explained that apparently the order hadn't come through the machine properly. Once found, he said that the food would be cooked and delivered immediately. It was delivered within 15-20 minutes, but it was flavourless and no chillies, considering it was a chillie dish! Only after reading a few of the reviews, it made sense that it is now new owners running the takeaway. My previous order a few months back, wasnt that great either. This unfortunately is my last order with Ruby. Time to find a new takeaway, after 20+ years

The food from this takeaway is alwasy great.

Totally gone down hill after being a loyal customer for almost 20 years. Rude guy on the phone with his constant cheeky remarks and they no longer take card over the phone - cash only, in a world where people don't even carry cash nowadays! the website doesn't have their full menu online and seems too limited so why even bother anymore!! Ruby is always 5 years behind times - why not go on Uber or Just-Eat? no vegan options? really bizarre.

By far the best takeaway for Cantonese food. The food is well prepared and the staff are awesome. Highly recommended if nearby. They also deliver which I used as the service is very quick.

I have never had bad food until today ! Ordered chicken fried rice collected it it was a tray of stodgy rice awful I rang shop they said bring it back and they will cook another portion I asked for compensation in an additional dish as i had to leave my house to go back to shop with this bad food they said no ! Terrible service

It was our favourite place to go until that woman came to till, she don't understand what we want. She got my order wrong. I will never ever go there again. That women is very rude and even the food is not that tasty as before.

Have been using this takeaway for many years, unfortunately on the last two visits I have found the lady taking the orders very rude & doesn’t seem to have time for the customers. I’ve also found the food isn’t as good. I will have to look for another Chinese takeaway.

BEST CHINESE IN ERDINGTON BY FAR! GREAT FOR VEGETARIANS! SUPERIOR QUALITY & GOOD PRICE. My new regular Cantonese take away! Every dish was prepared and presented with care and love. A healthier option as nothing is loaded with oil or salt. The crispy duck pancakes were presented beautifully, with plenty of wraps &veg to go with it. The plain chow mein was delicate, fresh, colorful with plenty of bright, crisp veg. Not greasy at all or swimming in soy sauce and oil like it usually is from inferior places. I also ordered a tofu & Pak choi soup which was light, fresh and tasty. Not feeling severely dehydrated after, either :)

Ruby is the takeaway we keep coming back to. Try their Jil Yim King Prawns, with a tiny bit of soy sauce added.

Hands down the best family run Chinese in Erdington and possibly the world nothing but consistently excellent for over 20 years and some of the freindliest most helpful staff I've ever met.

Rubys has really gone down hill this year the last 2 times have been really disappointing. Tonight I had some flavourless special fried rice and the sweet and sour chicken was also flavourless with raw veg in it. How you get those simple dishes wrong I don't know. The prices have gone up and the food standards have gone down. Unacceptable

Due to me living and having friends in different areas, I have tried many different chinese takeaways and i always use this one as the benchmark, few have come close to this but nothing has surpassed it, it is the best.

I have searched for a long time for a decent Chinese in my area and my god this was worth the wait. The service is lovely and the food is delicious. The curry sauce is really spicy and full of flavour and the chicken in the curry is proper roast chicken. It's absolutely beautiful. In fact it's so good that we ordered it for two nights one after the other. I was tempted to order it a third night but was worried about the calories .... that is the only thing that stopped me. The crispy shredded beef is also delicious !!

Best Chinese/Cantonese food in the area for over a decade! Have sometimes tried others but always return to Ruby. The food is gorgeous!
