Very disappointed with our meal tonight. There was hardly any meat in it and what meat we did have, was chewy and jelly looking. The taste that was common across all the food was fusty / mouldy. Will not be ordering again.

The Egg Fuyoung was very salty and when we notified to the restaurant the one over the phone mentioned its he who made it so it cannot be salty. He did mentioned he will adjust in the next order which was disappointing as I had to reorder my food with some other restaurant.

Better than some chinese’s in hereford. A fan on the chicken balls and the egg fried rice is nice. I also like the prawn crackers they are definitely nicer than others i have. Order from here occasionally

My god it was vile, covered in piles of salt and tasted like fat with inedible salt and pepper chips that blew my my mouth to oblivion

I found the meals I ordered acceptable I wasn't disappointed with the flavours or the quality, I would go back again.

Found walking bug in my food! Also found a peace bitten out of my food looked like a rat bite disgusting food not eating here again I also got sick of there food not recommended

Haven't eaten here in a few years but was really impressed with the food, staff and quick service.

I wish I could say how the food is but they refused to deliver it to us. We ordered, which was not easy, and even though they said it would be an hour (which is exceedingly long) we said Okay. but they never delivered! After we called them they said they could not find us. They did not try a bit. We were ten feet from the door. Then we waited outside! Then they kept hanging up on us. This is the worst service we have ever had.

Had a delivery, food was excellent, very tasty website is very easy to use but £5 for delivery on top of food made it an expensive meal for one.

Food nice, sweet and sour chicken balls were as hard as a rock thoe, but i couldnt get past how bad the young girl was speaking to people on the phone rude and i wouldnt recomend going until she changes the way she talks to people

First time here and it will be the last. Egg fried rice was gloopy and not that warm. Ordered what I thought was crispy beef in chilli sauce and got dry salt and pepper beef. This was far too spicy. Food hygiene rating also not great. 3

This was by far the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever eaten, they really need to stop putting so much corn flour in the sweet sauce along with the water chestnuts with bamboo shoots, the sauce stood up on it's own, and why the hell do you need to put cornflour in with the water chestnuts and bamboo shoots? there was no taste. The mushroom rice was spicey for some strange reason? the so called chicken balls were made up of pulled dry chicken dipped in batter, my dog refused to eat them. I doubt very much that there are any Chinese cooks working at this takeaway, if there are please prove me wrong and show everyone their qualifications.

Hygiene inspector needs to be visiting soon! Food tasted "off" and the 8ish year old kid taking the orders needs to learn manners.

The Service is very good and friendly, the food comes out fast, prices are standard, The only reason why I give 4 stars is because every time we order the chicken balls they are always chewy and tough. (5 times now) but all the other dishes are pretty good 👍

Ordered a takeaway and how disappointed were we, it arrived nice and hot, and packaged well. The food itself was disgusting, greasy, flavourless, the curry was as watery as an old dishcloth, the king prawns were more like cold water prawns, there was nothing I ordered that even came close to Chinese food. Safe to say I will never be ordering from there again and I certainly won't be recommending it to anyone.

Deserved 0 stars! Vile girl on the phone shouting and swearing when they were in the wrong! Missing items, spilt sauces. Food tastes off. Kept hanging up the phone when trying to get to the bottom of it. Overall a SHOCKING experience!

Terrible food tonight. This used to be THE best Chinese takeaway in town but not any more. Everything was tasteless but the chicken balls were the worst.......so tough we couldn't cut them and the batter was all soft and chewy. Will not be going back again and definitely do NOT recommend.

The staff was very nice and the food arrived as quick as a leopard. My crunchy chips were really hot. The chicken ball were full of flavor. I would really recommend this restaurant. Best in town.

Really disappointed in the food that I received last night. The food was awful. Chicken balls were greasy, chips were not freshly cooked and were stone cold and hard. The prawn toast was again really greasy, hard and stale. However the chow mein was good and up to the normal standard.

Really good meal. We had a delivery of dishes last night including chicken foo yong and chicken curry. All of which were of good quality. The chips were the best I have tasted in a long time. Crisp and a good taste. Shame delivery was over the hour, but it wasn't an issue for us, just worth a mention. Delivery guy was brilliant. We wouldn't hesitate in ordering from Ruby again when we fancy a treat!

Always great food up until tonight. Ordered my usual sweet and sour chicken Cantonese and it tasted weird, it was awful and made me sick.

Parking can be tricky so opted for delivery. Received the wrong food. Did eat it but wasn't very nice. Have bought from here before, usually been OK.

Not a regular of mine, and wouldn't be either if I lived locally.... Staff pretty friendly, food promptly made and tasted ok just not what I'm use to.

Sweet sour chicken ball delivered fast and hot. It is very lovely and it’s the best food in town. I will tell all my friends this to come to this restaurant. Every week I’ll order 1 to 3 times.

Its the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had im having to throw it away chow mein is ridiculously oily chicken balls are just absolutely awful. Enjoy the money I gave you as I will never be spending anymore in your shop.

Great basic chinese takeaway and always fast delivery

Thought we would give this place a try instead of our usual take away. Food arrived on time but was very disappointing. Salt and pepper chips were soggy and not pleasant at all. Chicken balls chewy and dry. And other meals not very nice either. Will go back to our usual place in future.

Absolutley disgusting one of the worst chinese takeaways ive ever had, Noodles were greasy and smothered in cooking oil and had no flavour at all, Rice was dry and bland Prawn crackers tasted like a napkin Chicken was overcooked and dry Sauce was more like congealed jelly Just gone to mcdonalds and thrown the chinese in the bin waste of money will not buy from here ever again

We had a takeaway from here and found out when we got it home that there was a dish missing. I called and was pretty much called a liar and was refused a refund. Not happy.

It's ok. Portion sizes were good, speed of delivery was great but the food itself wasn't the best I've ever had hence the 3*

Used to be good but has gone downhill very quickly. The delivery times are ridiculously long. I have waited over 2 and a half hours for delivery before on a Monday night. Never again.

Ordered a Home Delivery at 7.30pm was told 45/60min food arrived at 9.30pm after several phone calls saying it's on it way.... Driver and passenger was very rude, checked the food, it was all cold and half of the bag of chips missing, they had obviously been eating them, after asking them to take the food back as we were not accepting food that someone has touched they became very aggressive and challenging. 1st time using this Chinese Take Away Will definitely never be using this Take Away again....it's back to New Jasmine House as they have never let us down and have fantastic customer service and delivery drivers.

We ordered through the Big Foodie app and they said there was to be a wait expected. Fine. 1hr we expected. Not 2.5 hours before we got our food. Obviously it isn't the delivery driver's fault, we did explain that it was disappointing and having spoken to others they informed us that they were severely backed up with food orders and couldn't keep up. They wouldn't answer the phone the 7 times we tried (call ended). We had cooked our own food and sat down to eat it when they knocked on the door! Do not recommend.

Ordered are food at 19:15 had to wait 3 hours just to be able to speak to someone on the phone to tell us that are food has not been cooked and won’t be. To be offered a refund. Disgusting behaviour, they should have called to tell us it was not going to be cooked. I recommend boycotting this place if they are not willing to put appropriate staffing on, on a busy Saturday night.

Shocking service!!! Have waited and waited for our food and still 2 and half hours later we have no food. Got told we were expecting it soon as the delivery man is out on his way. Awful and will not return x

Been looking for a reasonable Cantonese food takeaway...i orderd on foodhub ..i COULD NOT BELIEVE how quick it was ... i love chow mein and am really fussy with them .. really nice yh, my partner had chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce ..lovly lots of them and not greasy...yes very pleased ... we had bbq spare ribs ...yum ..would definitely order again😁

Personally i wouldnt even give it a 1 star but this place is terrible.. i ordered my food on bigfoodie app and it had bin 2 hours since i recieved my comfirmation email so we rang up, it took us half an hour to get intouch with them for them to say its the nect order going out and there nothing they can do. I get times are hard right now but 2 and half hours is just terrible! Almost 3 hours waiting.

I placed an order today at around 7:20pm with the Ruby Chinese in Hereford. After an hour I contacted the foodie site that was taking the order to say the food had not arrived. I was asked to wait a bit longer and that they would contact the take away. But they could not get through either. I had tried to phone them for about 10 minutes when I first tried to order. I had tried and tried again after an hour, and they would not answer the phone. After two hours I went down there. They are not coping there are orders stacking up at the back of the shop. I explained I had been waiting for an two hours and that I was not happy. The young girl was soooooo rude. She explained that there was only her there answering the phone. I said there was a clock and it was being delivered after an hour. She said they were so busy and that you will have to wait. I had paid for delivery which the owner gave me back. They rummaged in the heat bags to try and find my order. It was there and I took it. I explained that if they can’t get the food out they should not take the orders. I explained that you had tried to contact them on the phone as well but there was no answer. So I said to the rude young girl - you say your the only one answering the phone but your not as I have been trying for hours and even the big foodie has tried and they couldn’t get through. I was told not to ever order again from the young girl who basically told me to get out. This was totally unacceptable and if other people are thinking of ordering don’t from the abuse you get when things don’t go right.

The delivery was spot on and food was 10 out of 10 . The beef in the black bean was cooked perfectly .

Always enjoyed the food, however tonight the service I received was an embarrassment, having waited an hour and 10 minutes I rang to see where my delivery was, I was informed that the delivery driver had actually returned with the food having been rejected by a house that shock was not my house and even rang me which shock he didn’t, they then went on to say they would resend it out and fifty additinal minutes later still nothing, I tried ringing multiple times and even began being put through to voicemail, long story short and two hours twenty minutes later still no food and still no answer from Ruby’s, will not waste my time again

Absolutly awful. Chips dry and salty spare ribs was over cooked chicken balls was over cooked the bbq sauce was sour. Food come cold as it was rang up to speak with manager he said he was going to sort it out and cook more then had a phone call back from some women saying she runs the buisness and deals with the phone calls and she was rude and arrogant said they wasnt going to send more food or do anything about it amd put the phone down. Never ever ever again i will stick to new lucky house as food is much better and the staff are much more friendly. Only come back to this place as heard it tasted good again well clearly not still the same disgusting food that i had a year ago! Stay away from here not worth the money at all! On a plus side though there sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice was good although it was luke warm but still enjoyed that!

I go to this chinese regularly once a week in fact. Today I ordered sweet & sour chicken Cantonese style, 1xchips, 1x egg fried rice, 1xcurry sauce & 4 cokes which came to £23 including delivery. Ridiculous. Any way order got delivered walked in my house and noticed I had no cokes. I then rang the Ruby to ask about this as I had paid for these drinks and also heard the lad repeat the order back to me, to which I got they wasnt on the order. I then opened up the food and I had 4x chips (which i didnt order only ordered 1) & not just that the chips were all over the place from ripped bags!! I ring them back up to which the young lad said he would get them to deliver the missing items from my order which I appreciated. 5 minutes later I then get another phone call from the lad (& older man talking behind) saying that it is a long way to come for 4 drinks and would I like to add them to my next order (which I told them I wont be ordering here again) I am sorry but I paid £23 for items I DIDNT ask for & havent eaten & should be given the items I did order!! If the order was wrote down properly and as said it was when repeated then we wouldnt have an issue. I have paid for the items I asked for and when asked for them to rectify they use excuses. Will not be using this company again, and do not appreciate being treated like I have as I am a loyal weekly customer of over a year. Digraceful!!

Over cooked dry and so salty. The vegetables are soft or old. The sweet and Sour tastes like furniture polish smells. Not what it formaly had the quality has gone.

Best in the Ford. Very rarely is anything wrong, food takes a little longer than most to arrive but I'm used to this and just order a bit earlier. Chicken balls are great, the sweet and sour actually has strong flavors unlike most places which serve that orange tasteless goop (you know the one). And the chips are the best.

To be honest the ruby had very inconsistent food after a late day of school after. Y computer science exam has horrible would not recommend.

Food is always excellent. Delivery is usually very good, but as with anywhere in this town, ordering at teatime is a gamble as the traffic is horrendous.

Chinese food is quite nice, nice to see the staff wearing hats when cooking food. However, those chips..... Mmmmmm I love their chips....

Missed items and called for a refund and their customer service stinks. My next call is to trading standards and environmental health. Three times used and three times short changed.

Have forgotten part of my orders 3 times in a row, called them up and they won't even drop it off or refund it.

Ordered food from here it has taken way over a hour and 15 mins and still nothing called up they said 5 mins still nothing called back up 10mins later and they were not answering, then after three calls they answered and by this point were talking 1 hour 20mins, they said it'll be there soon so we cancelled the order very poor after hearing so much of it being one of the best Chineses in Hereford.

Took 58 minutes to be delivered instead of the 45 that they said so nice one for that (sarcastic thumbs up). Also forgot my can of tango, luckily enough I like water so had some from the tap instead mmmmm yummy. Prawn crackers taste like the 39p pack from bartosham stores. The duck, noodles and chicken balls were tidy tbf but all round service not so tidy lyk. 2 and a half stars from me
