Ruby Chinese Takeaway in Fareham

Nice food, been going there for years and never had a issue with the food. Would recommend.

Just ordered for a family of 3 and all of left 3/4 of our plates full, the food tasted really odd and the pancake roll there was something not quite right. Won’t be using again.

Awful, waited an 1.45 min. Cold bland. Just terrible. Never had such a shocking meal. Don’t bother ordering from here .

Awful! We had this takeaway as a Sunday night treat. Bought a mixture of dishes. The 4 of us thought it was disgusting. The s&s chicken balls were the worst we have ever had. The lemon chicken was like rubber. Don't know where they get chicken from but it was bad. So over cooked. Would never use this Chinese again. Date night dinner ruined for 2 couples 👎 Pick another Chinese if you want good food.

Got order completely wrong to begin with. Chips were over cooked as usual. Chicken just tasted like lumps of fat and I have no idea what sauce I had but it definitely didn't taste like BBQ sauce like I ordered. Ruby's used to be so good but they are awful now

Delivery times are shocking. Ordered 1704. Nothing at 1830. Called them and told them to forget it. Disgusting really!!!!

Food was inedible , chicken satay was gooey and didn’t even taste like satay sauce, ended up throwing it away.

We used to use Ruby often and I always recommended it. But I think it just have been taken over. The food is bland and all tastes the same and like a gravy! Stoped using

Cheap & Cheerful - you get a good amount for your money however, plain and bland. I would only recommend this for people with very vanilla taste buds. Also, the chicken is gooey- never experienced this texture of chicken before 🤢.

Ordered food through food hub and asked "where is my food" it updated to "running late" then 2 hours later told that the driver deliverd it! After contracting food hub they where willing to "recook it" but would take "about an hour". 3 hours for a take away is not acceptable so I asked for a refund....... Surprise no refund, no food and the worst customer service I have ever received from them. I hope the driver enjoyed my dinner.

It's a hit qnd miss place some times it's amazing and others it's just OK, it seems to be s and s Hong Kong chicken that's the one that's hit or miss the most all in all can be great

Food was OK, but won't use it again. It wasn't terrible but just not as good as I'm used to.

Never had a Chinese from here all the time we have been Iiving here. Well Ruby Chinese you have out dine yourself it was gorgeous very tasty.

They claimed to have knocked on my door and no one answered but when our cameras were checked no one had even bothered to come. We called them up and they were laughing and clearly eating the food my youngest daughter paid for. Not worth it! Honestly the worst service so don’t expect to get your food!

Good food as always, nice sized portions! all meat are nicely cooked and seasoned Only thing that I would complain about is prices. Although it is worth it for the quality and quantity I feel like for £50 I wanted a lot more for my money I ordered a Standard meal serving but sides would of been nice, just don’t think nearly a whole £70 !! is worth a few sides you know.. Maybe it’s just me and everything just adds up? Things are Just so expensive for my liking now adays all prices ruin a little. But would definitely recommend!!! good food, Nice service, fast delivery.

Order mixed meat curry and egg fried rice got home no rice got rice then what a surprise chicken curry. Wife phoned up then they told us to pay extra for their mistake never again used to be so good what's gone wrong. Owners wise up???

Oh dear. Usually good from there but meal tonight abysmal. New Years meal, covered in grease and inedible. All the dishes except rice were awful. Appreciate it’s a busy time of year but when we called up we were offered a £15 credit for a £40 meal. Seems to be an issue with giving refunds when reading other reviews. Got a full refund when I returned the food, but the customer service was terrible much like the food. Beware!

We came from London for the weekend and arrived at 11pm. This was one of the only places open, so we ordered for pickup. Pickup was fast - 30 mins from when we ordered on the phone. Food was great! Ordered the Singapore Chao Mein, Kung Pao Chicken, and Salt and Pepper Chips - all were great!

Great food alway good size portions, price same for area I would say, never to long to wait either.

First and last time ordering. Food was flavourless and the chicken balls where under cooked. Ribs were in bits and just fat no meat.

Great tasting and always hot, never had any problems with ordering from here. Food portions are fantastic and great value for your money. Food delivery time is quick. And delivery person are always polite and friendly.

Food very good but not the chips

Ordered a meal today, the meal arrived 2 hours early, apology given. The second time at 815 pm meal arrived on time. When the meal arrived it was all luke warm, except for Orange Sauce which was hot. I have made my own conclusions on this!

Ordered food it was discusting...the beef curry was certainly not beef.did not enjoy one bit.when we called them they said it was fresh beef very rude on phone didnt want to help.will not be going there ever again

Ordered for the first time and it was discusting. The food was watery and tastless. We called to ask for them to collect the food and issue a refund as it was inedible. When asked why it tasted so waterty they replied the food is healthy, that's the way we cook it! The rude lady at Ruby them put the phone down on me. A terrible experience and a waste of money!

The food is always fantastic and I have food from here at least once a week. They have just refurbished the shop and you can clearly and easily watch your food being cooked. I thouroghly recommend this takeaway restuarant.

Staff are rude and un helpful and also they delivered to my mates house like right near me but apparently they don’t deliver to around here lady on the phone hung up on me so fast after I asked if they delivered to my house

The lady is rude and in helpful. Although the food is really nice, She hung up the phone when I asked for a delivery to the same address as my mate and she told me no in a horrible way then hung up the phone. RUDEEE

Usually always go here, however ordered from Ruby’s Chinese, Portchester, tonight and food was undercooked!! The sweet and sour chicken balls were pink in the middle, putting me off the rest of my meal which I couldn’t eat. Not happy!

Absolutely shambolic ordered a delivery, when I phoned the lady said collection I said no delivery she said ok 1hr later I get a phone call you can collect it now, no I said delivery she replied ok it will be there in 10mins, 30min later I phone where is it and I get told I thought you wanted a collection ! What the actual F useless now I've got an upset child that was looking forward to our take away, to top it of the lady sounded so rude and didn't give a flying F

Ive always been a fan of the £3 meal deal but i tried the chow mein for a change and it was awful, basically just thick noodles, a few beansprouts and some horrible bland fatty pork!! Never have a tasted such a tasteless chow mein in my life! Good job i paid an extra £1.30 for a sauce otherwise i would have thrown it in the bin :-(

First time take away from Ruby's on recommendation, and we were far from disappointed. Quality 5/5 really nice food that's really hot still by the time you get it home. Possibly the best Chinese I've had in years. Speed 5/5 ordered by phone on a Friday night, and advises food will be ready in 10-20 minutes. Drove down and paid and sat down to wait, only to be given the rest order within a few mins. Probably ready in 10 mins from the point I ordered. Value for Money 5/5 exceptional. Really happy with this as being not from the area and seeing the prices of Chinese take away slowly going up my way, this really surprised me. Three main dishes, a rice, a noodle dish, and some prawn crackers, £22.10! Overal 5/5 really happy to recommend and will definitely be back. We reheated and finished what we couldn't eat last night (there was loads of food, good sized portions) and it tastes as good as it did fresh. Would certainly recommend! Keep up the great work.

Would not order from here again - delivery took over two hours and when the food did arrive items were missing. When calling the takeaway for a refund I was told that no one in the shop knew how to issue a refund and that the owner would call me back, I have still not received a phone call back and now have to chase them again. Awful service, will not be using again.

We ordered a take away tonight . It was delivered with in he time span. Firstly there were no prawn crackers so they went back and got them. Also I am coeliac and cannot tolerate pineapple. When placing the order over the phone I ordered chicken satay skewers and asked more than mo ce do they come with pineapple to be told no on each occasion.Well they arrived floating in a satay sauce and this was fulof pineapple.i was not impressed .

Friendly staff and got to love the £3 special.

Not happy at all my pancake roll wasn't cooked properly was also cold my rice was like mush and the duck was very dry and hard to chew not good for first time never ate any of it all got chucked in the bin also asked for extra spice and never got put in my curry but in my husband who can't stand spice

The beef curry sauce was tasteless like dishwater and the chips looked like they had been cooked twice and dry, the egg fried rice was just fried rice no taste, the pancake roll was burnt on the outside, and the inside was dry and grey not fresh, and all the prices have all gone up and smaller dishes, also when ordering the food the two girls taking the order were stuffing their faces, i will not be eating their again.

We decided to see if there was another Chinese better then our usual... boy we were wrong. There was a hair in two of our dishes and our beef was green! I'm not usually one to write reviews but I won't be ordering from them again.

So for starters you tried to deliver the wrong order an hour and a half before our delivery time slot. Then the food turned up late. The egg fried rice tasted of nothing, the chips were undercooked, the pork and beef were too tough to eat with lots of fatty bits, the chow mein had absolutely no flavour whatsoever really really unhappy with this takeaway will NEVER order from here again

Didn't like anything rubbish food didn't enjoy it hated it left over half waist of money won't be getting Chinese from there again

Ruby's is a great takeaway the food is excellent.

Ruby's is a fast local takeaway. The food is well cooked and fresh, and the crispy duck pancakes are delicious! We always have left overs as the portions are generous and they will often include a huge bag of prawn crackers for free. Pricing is average, but if you share a few dishes, it makes it a very reasonable cost.

Lovely lovely food.. every time we order and they cater for for veggies like me as well.... Best take-away we have ever used ...give them a try
