Don't like to give bad reviews, but had one of the worst beef currys I have ever had . The beef was slimey and chewy and not edible , most of it went in the bin . That said the sevice was brilliant...but cash only ? Don't think I would use again

Mouth-wateringly good, and great value too! The service was excellent, fast and friendly, and our order was ready in no time at all. The quality of the food was superb. There was no shortage of meat in the hot and spicy beef and chicken dishes we had, and the banana fritters in syrup made a gorgeous ending to an excellent meal. I'll be back for more!

Special chow main no vegetables and chicken not good 😐 no taste

The food was nasty, I would say it was half raw, completely unseasoned, we got soups instead of sauces. I don't recommend it to anyone!!!

Chicken chow main had no taste, and you salt and chilli chips has far to much salt I'm afraid completely ruined it for me.

BBQ spare ribs & spring roll; Superb!! I struggled but managed it, I usually have special curry etc, nice change spoilt for choice, fast, efficient & to be had again....

I've driven past so many times, called in for the first time the other day and was really impressed with the service and food. Large portions and really tasty, I will definitely try again, it may even replace my current takeaway.

Going to China and leaving her unpaid is unacceptable. Shall not use this place again. Profit above people let's it down.

The food here is amazing. Great portions, always hot, lots of meat per portion, really tasty, fair prices. You wont be disappointed.

First time purchasing food from this takeaway and honestly it is amazing ! Keep it that way and we will come back soon and plenty ! I understand sometimes things might not go perfect when cooking but if there's more good then bad , I'm cool with that :) Really recommend !

Ordered 2 meals on the phone ,i had the ruby speacial curry very suprised by size and value good vegatable selection and plenty of meat veraiety,only slight down fall were the chips i think they were frozen not the normal chinese style chip but all very tasty . So overall very good value for money. The wife had the sweet and sur chicken ball s in batter very good value to ,it would have been a 5 out of 5 just the chips let them down,we would recomend ,p.s they only take cash

I have to admit that in the last few months the quality of the food here has deteriorated. My last meal I found the chicken rubbery, some of the dishes warm, others cold. The addition of a bit of fresh peppers and onions did little to enhance the blandness of the meals.

Great tasting Singapore chow mein fresh peppers and veg add a chicken fried rice and it's hard to beat. Highly recommended. Thank you

Have to agree with last review...i think it has new owners and the food is very bad i had the house curry the chicken if you call it that had a bad taste the prawns had a chemical taste....Never again

This chinese is as good today as it has ever been. Totally delicious, good amounts of meat, lovely sauces. The staff are great and no waiting time. when she says 10 minutes that what it is.

used to do the best food and curry in town used to go all the time but it changed hands and they put chilli flakes in the curry and changed the sauce made it unedible for me food tasted awful not been back since. such a shame.

Ordered a chicken chow mien which was vile .. tasted like wet dog. Spring rolls seemed to be radioactive and still growing. Tried to eat as much as I could, But I’d rather be hungry. I can honestly say it was the worst meal I’d ever had.

Lovely food shame they don't deliver

At one time the Ruby was first choice for Chinese in the area. I've not been here for a few years and visited there today. All I can say is that it contained calories. A Chow Mein consisting mainly of greasy noodles and not a lot more, and a Peking Style Vegetables where the beige contents were swimming in what tasted like diluted tomato ketchup with a spoonful of sugar thrown in. I rarely have to write a damning review but I would honestly rather go hungry than eat food from this place. So sad considering what it used to be like.

We have used Rubys for many years but since Sharon and Nelson have retired the standard is not so high. Some of the food has gone down in standard and the shop is not so busy when you go past, the shop was always full at all times before they retired

Must be new owners, quality is rubbish now! Chicken is inedible,if it was chicken. Pork is nearly all fat. Six meals ordered, about four were left uneaten.

What has happened? Used to use Rubys all the time, but the last few times the food is disgusting! Save your money and go elsewhere.

Asked for Special Curry with fried rice and basically got a larger portion of chicken curry. Other takeaways offer special curries which consist of mixed meat and mushrooms but Ruby is 90% chicken, loads of onion and a few mushroom, very lucky to get pork, beef or duck in the special.

Rice was a bit dry ,looked like it had been around for a fair while . Chips looked like they'd been recooked. When you pay twenty quite for a meal for four you expect more.
