Rubens Levantine Grill & Mezze in Cheshire East

Ordered two chicken shawarmas with chips for £30. Had to return to the counter because I thought they only put one portion of chips in….no, you just get a thimble of chips per person. Food is nice but don’t go if you’re hungry

Had to wait nearly 40 minutes for some overpriced dry chicken on a wrap . The guy serving behind the counter with the beard was rude and cocky when I asked about my order . Won't go again and wouldn't recommend

Rubens catered our wedding and we were so happy with the food! Several people have told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. Paul was so easy to work with, we’d 100% recommend!

Looked better than it tasted. Harrisa on the chicken shawarma was just really bland. No real spice or heat level. Asked for chilli sauce to give it some flavour and was told it's £2 extra (because it's homemade) 😂. A simple bottle of econa sauce is less than that in a supermarket. I wouldn't eat here again.

Absolutely loved this great mixed kebab, chicken and lamb with tzatziki and harissa 😘👌Also got some lovely crispy garlic wedges with it 👌

Rubens catered our wedding reception and the food was incredible! Having had their food at Altrincham market many times before, we knew they were good but they exceeded our expectations. We cannot recommend them more. We had a mixture of chicken shawarma, breads, pickles and salads which were cooked to perfection and beautifully displaced. Rubens were brilliant from start to finish. The communication was great and they were incredibly professional. We had so many compliments from our guests and people were going back for 3rds! We would 100% recommend their food at alty market or if you were looking for private hire.

Not to be confused with Ruebens in Congleton which is fab. Rubens at Picturedrome Macclesfield is overpriced and the food itself is not all that! £8.50 for what turned out to be 3x chicken wings. The turmeric fried potatoes were overcooked with far too little topping. Disappointed. Not great value for money.

Really lovely and super tasty falafel wrap and Greek fries, and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Amazing food! We have the green ball and the vine leaves, tasted wonderful, beautiful, mix of flavours and lots of vegetables! Friendly staff and prompt service. Highly recommended!

Extremely disappointing customer service. Ordered a lamb shawarma at the Alty market. Waitress comes to the table saying it’s the lamb shawarma. After a bite turns out it was veg and was for another family seated at the same table as us. Owner refused to take accountability for his waitresses’ mistake and made us pay for the veg shawarma as well as for the other families veg meal once this had been reordered. As a business, he should’ve taken some responsibility for his staffs mistake and at least cover the costs for the other families meal, but instead insisted that we should cover the costs. Extremely poor attitudes.

This place used to be good but it feels like the food has gone massively down hill lately.

The food was average (under cooked potatoes, under seasoned wings) but what really let this place down was the poor attitude of the two male staff members.

Ate from Rubens at Altrincham Market. Had the grain bowl with chicken. Good healthy options with good portion size of chicken.

Absolutely delicious! The most scrumptious grain bowl in the world!
