Rubens Coffee in Wirral

There was a foul odour that hit me like a ton of bricks as soon as I entered the shop. Were it not for my business client wanting to meet here i'd have ran for the hills. Coffee was freezing. Apparently it was iced latte and its legit so i'll let them off. The next 30 minutes were quite uneventful until a masked man with a sawn off shotgun robbed the tills. Not quite the family friendly atmosphere i was promised. When I asked the manager for a napkin she spat in my face. Won't be returning

This is the first time coming to this Rubens cafe, been to other branches but first time coming here. I came with my friend and it was disappointing as the eggs were over cooked, took 1 hour and 30 minutes to clear our plates and didn’t check to see if everything was ok.

Having been to other branches of Rubens, we were disappointed that the standard did not feel as good at this branch. The coffee shop was busy when we visited and at that point there were only two members of staff. As a result, the food took a long time to appear. When it was served, we were disappointed to find that my eggs were not cooked enough, and the plates and teapot were chipped in multiple places. Otherwise, the food was nice enough, but overall very disappointing.

I have been visiting this coffee shop since it opened but have noticed a decline in everything but especially in the customer service. On entering the shop I counted 5 tables filled with empty dirty plates and the three members of staff having a right good gossip with each other. It took half an hour for some of the tables to be cleared. The others were cleared by customers wanting to sit down. The girl serving me was extremely rude. Not a smile ( I suppose i was interrupting her chat) she then forgot my order and after 20 mins when she did bring my cup of tea she flung it down with out a word, smile, nod. The same girl repeatedly forgot who ordered what and hollered each drink order at the entire shop. The coffee shop is always freezing, the flooring is scratty and there is zero atmosphere. I wont be going back.

I love this branch of Rubens . You are made welcome and the staff are lovely. Food and cakes are tasty and coffee to die for. Nothing is too much for them . Love coming here and would definitely recommend to others .

Always loved going here to meet up with friends but was disappointed last week that people were in there with their dogs. This must be a new things - I was put right off my cappuccino with the smell of wet dog !!!!! Do you allow dogs in now as I didn’t see any signs for this.

Amazing raspberry and cream Victoria sponge cake to die for and a lovely cappuccino we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing break on a Saturday afternoon second visit to this lovely coffee shop we will be back again.

Friendliest staff ever!... couldn’t do enough makes any dining event a magnificent experience!... nothing was too much trouble!... Always an abundance of brown sauce too! 5star service!
