Ruba Restaurant in Richmond upon Thames

Pretty decent food but lacked atmosphere (it was a Tuesday), food was a bit cold but pretty tasty. Had to chase drinks orders which was a bit annoying considering how quiet it was.

This is a fabulous restaurant to visit, and also provides a delicious catering service. We used them for a dinner for a 90th birthday party held at Turner's House in St Margarets. They provided the food, china, cutlery glasses, linen and a brilliant waiter called Mike, which made the evening a magical night to remember. I highly recommend them. Thankyou Mazen.

Clean,tasty and fresh food,good service and good atmosphere. Waiters are very attentive. Will come back again.

My second visit to Ruba …previously recommended by a friend . This time I took another friend for lunch - she lives locally and had never been. The food was as good as I remembered and my friend was also impressed with the quality, value and service. We will both be visiting again soon.

I grew up in Teddington in the 1970s, when having an Italian restaurant on the high street seemed exotic. It’s wonderful that there is now a Lebanese, and that it’s as good as Ruba. The lamb shank was superb.

Great Lebanese restaurant in the heart of Teddington! I brought my Arabic girlfriend and my parents for dinner and it got the thumbs up from everyone! Great variation of hot and cold meze, great mains and tasty desserts. Would definitely visit again!

Absolutely loved the Lebanese style Pannacotta with orange and rose water! So fresh and light! Everything was delicious. The staff were welcoming and played Arabic music in request. ( ABBA just didn’t work in this setting) Thank you

We came here for the first time for dinner. We arrived at 7pm and there was only one other table taken. By 7.45pm the restaurant was almost full and everyone appeared to be enjoying their meal as much as we did. Even though it was pretty busy, the food and service were very good.

We came here on a whim because we weren't sure where else to go. It was very quiet at lunchtime, but there were a few occupied tables, so we weren't alone. We ordered a few different dishes and each were delicious, we couldn't choose our favourite and would order all again (+ more). We especially loved the mint lemonade, and we're still discussing it the next day! We'll definitely be coming back, even just for that.

We enjoyed ourselves at Ruba during our visit to London. Authentic Lebanese cuisine full of flavors. Top notch service. Cozy and warm place! Thanks to the whole team. We will definitely come back on our next visit to London. See you soon!

I love Lebanese food & Ruba is one of the best Lebanese restaurants that I've visited. So often the menu is pretty much the same which is fine for me. This menu is more varied & sophisticated. There were three of us & I chose Batata Harra - spicy diced potatoes, Rikakat Sojok, - pastry rolls filled with cheese, Kebbeh Latkin - Pureed pumpkin & cracked wheat shell filled with seasoned spinach, pomegranate, onions & walnuts. Also humous. The service was excellent & we'd certainly return.

I can’t wait to be back. We were a party of seven and managed to try many dishes on the menu. The food was simply delicious. The restaurant was fully booked when we visited but we could have been on our own. The waiters were attentive, helpful and fun.

There were only 3 tables taken in the restaurant, so no excuse for such slack service. Getting more water took ages. Our plates sat untaken for 15mins. The waiter (manager I think) was continually looking at his phone. Shame as the food is excellent.

We have been coming to this establishment on many occasions and we had nothing but delicious and yet great service. With great embarrassment I faced today, Sunday 24th of March, after taking my partner for his birthday with the luck of service. The food took almost an hour. Sa soon as we made some equary due to my health issues where recently I had stomach surgery, I asked the if the food is to my requirement, to be fresh and I emphasised again on freshness I was reassured with a sniggering smile that they serve nothing but the finest food. As the food arrived rather late as they were occupied with their friends table who arrived after us but they were served the food before us. We felt it is was more of a private function than a restaurant. We we're seated opposite kitchen door where my partner noticed the lamb shank coming out of microwave. I was very hungry and I started eating my partner didn't mention this to me because he didn't want me to go off the food, tasted very much like a microwave meal from supermarket. After the meal I request a birthday song with a desert of the choice of baklava, once again I got reassured that they will put a happy birthday song , with uter disappointment the waiter put the desert in front of us and left in a hurry. We couldn't saty in that place any longer as we felt not treated as valued customers . I had to leave the restaurant immediately as I was in severe pain to get some fresh air and head home. I asked for the bill I was shocked that I had to pay more than £10 service charge for an appalling experience at RUBA Restaurant. On my arrival home I threw up all of the food as I couldn't hold it in. I felt very guilty and also costly that my partners day has been ruined by Incompetent service.

We chose Ruba because its the highest rated restaurant in the area and its Lebanese. It didn't disappoint - so much so that we repeated lunch here the next day with a dear friend. The lunch mezze platter is good value and each mezze was finely prepared. Its great value and service is very good, especially from the Greek manager from Crete.

Delicious food and nice setvice

We are regulars at Ruba and it's one of our favourite take out options as the food travels so well. However I want to review their less well known home catering service. We had a good sized dinner party (20+) that Ruba provided the catering for. Mazen was a joy to work with, helping spec out a delicious menu based on our favourites but also offering some great advice and ideas that turned out to be all very well judged. On the night of the event, everything turned up exactly on time and as promised. Mike was on hand to help with service and making everyone feel at ease. His manner was perfect for the party and real positive addition to the event. Come the end of the meal, everything was cleared away and collected with minimal fuss. All this meant that we could really enjoy the entire evening with our friends. All guests were raving about the quality and tastiness of the food. From end to end a really great experience, will definitely be using them functions in the future. Thanks Mazen and Mike!

Great place. We went there on New year's Eve. The food was delicious and the service was warm and efficient. The belly dancer was a nice touch.

An excellent place to dine if, like me, you like lots of different dishes (and all very good). The glass of Lebanese red was excellent and unlike the stingy servings of wine in other restaurants, was copious. Well done. Owners: don't change anything. You are possessed of correctness. Six months later: my 80th Birthday Lunch on January 1st 2024, twelve of us. Excellent, just excellent. Superb food, lovely staff. We all had a great time, could not be better. Thanks !

All our family ate here on Xmas day, the food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was brilliant and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. A wonderful eating experience, we can't wait to visit again, thank you so much.

Ruba is our family’s favourite restaurant and for good reason. If you want to have the best food in a beautiful setting with the most attentive staff, then you must visit. Ruba hosted our engagement party of almost 60 people and everyone told us it was the best Lebanese food they’ve ever had. Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful team who cared for us sooo well and we had the best time we possibly could have had - we absolutely adore everyone there and will have nothing but the best memories from our engagement. Highest imaginable quality of food served. Every single facet of service and food meticulously implemented. Fresh and welcoming decor (interior design brilliant). This is a place to go to have an excellent meal in a warm and friendly environment, where the staff and management really care about your experience. I could continue to describe the quality and taste of every dish we were served but the fact is we found them all to be excellent in every category, from freshness, taste, texture and authenticity. The Baba Ganoush, albeit a simple dish, is worthy of an award in my opinion. Lovely.

Ruba catered the Teddington Beer festival and I was blown away by the food. I am not a vegetarian but I went for the Moussakaat (aubergine and chickpea stew) and it was incredible. I went back for seconds it was so delicious. Husband also ordered this, he is usually a meat all the way person but he really enjoyed his meal. Service was friendly and efficient and price was reasonable for such an event. Also had some baklava (kindly gifted on the house) which tasted fresh and delicate. Hoping to come test out restaurant soon!

Ruba is a nice local restaurant, they serve nice and fresh Lebanese dishes.ordered tabouleh, batata hara, baba ganoush and mixed grill so fresh and tasty, it was very authentic experience. Will definitely go back again.

I had dinner on the weekend. Best 👌 authentic Lebanese food. Lovely home made hummus. Mixed grill very tasty and generous portion. A lot of mezze selection to order. Affordable price. I highly recommend it.

Delicious food - Lentil soup, falafels and hummus were of top quality, my friends are Chicken n Lamb and that was delicious too. We went on a sat night so perhaps the reason for the delay in serving, and the ambiance was ok ok, worth visiting anytime

Simply great - they are only missing one thing - a real shawarma spit roaster, the quality of the red meat is great and the food is very good quality. The staff are super attentive and I have had small family meals all the way to big family celebrations where we pre ordered champagne etc and all was great!

Food is really good. The taste matches good quality food in Levant area. Hence, I am giving the 5 star rating. The meal is well balanced good portion of protein, small amount of carbs and some vegetables. I would maybe increase the vegetables portion slightly. But I would say the nutrition value is high👍🏼. Maybe it’s a bit pricey but I assume it is in the range of London prices (I don’t live in London so I don’t have a good reference). The guy served the table was nice, gave us space to be comfortable and he was always ready to serve us.

So where to start? My sister were walking down Teddington high street trying find a suitable takeaway. After a few good choices we stopped at beautiful restaurant Ruba to check the menu. And Tatiana from the restaurant was sitting outside on her break observing our discussion. Tatiana asked if she could help and then on our acquiescing answered all our questions patiently, took us inside and we ordered with some questions and answers with staff. Our Lentil soup was divine for what we wanted. The Fattoush was so refreshing that after our hard day, all felt right….. just the right mix of veggies, spices and some sort of fried thin crispy bread. Awesome. I did get a Kafta wrap which was great too with lamb kafta complimented by sauces and the accoutrements. And not to forget the assortment of Baklava. Now those who know me are in ware that I really like Baklava. And this was fresh and met all what we wanted. Outstanding. Thank you to Tatiana and Fadel the staff @ Ruba.

I went with 5 friends for on a weekday evening. The service and staff are great and very professional. The food is fantastic and its impossible to leave not wanting to come back. The menu is large but each dish is served as if its the only dish, all perfect.

This restaurant surpasses any other 5 star Lebanese restaurant I’ve tried in the UK. I’m really impressed with how delicious the food is. Every little detail has been taken into consideration. Presentation, hygiene, food quality, portion size, service and most importantly the taste. I was surprised with how tender and flavourful the meat is. I’m truly impressed. Thank you Ruba for bringing the TRUE taste of Lebanon to the UK.

We’re there with friends and had a great time. We probably tried most of the appetisers and all were delicious. So we’re the mains and desserts. Had arak throughout the evening and surely helped our appetite😜. The team is lovely and friendly. A must go. It’s a hidden gem.

Fantastic value restaurant in a location known to be expensive. 5 meze between 2 was more than enough food and with a couple of drinks we paid just over £45. everything was hot, freshly cooked and service quick and friendly. A true neighbourhood gem!

We had a set menu at this restaurant - it was amazing. Having only had lebanese once before, we took a chance on this place while walking past. Amazing! The staff were very patient explaining what was what and the food tasted wonderful and there was loads of it. Don't even think about having a drink before you come here!

We love this place. Our family regularly visits Ruba, usually for dinner. We went today 28.06.23. My daughters were super excited. We sat at the back, which reminds us of a Persian Palace. Food never disappoints, it really is fresh and delicious and service is friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. We usually leave with a doggy bag. In the words of my younger daughter, "this is the best day ever!" Thank you all at Ruba for making our Mid week Eid Dinner a marvellous one. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Sadia and family :)

Absolutely brilliant Lebanese restaurant and fantastic service from Ephram. He was kind and attentive. We got the lunchtime mezza platter which was excellent, both the chicken shawarma, shish taouk were great. If you're in the area, definitely drop in!!

Hidden gem in Teddington area. The food is a classic Lebanese food with all the well known dishes from this cuisine. Great, tasty and top quality ingredients in every dish I have until this date tasted. The flavors and ingredients of each dish are authentic. You cannot go wrong with this restaurant. I am planning to pay them a visit soon but even with food delivery it is still very impressive restaurant and doing a great job in maintaining this great quality of food. A job well done. Highly recommended!!

Such a great place, great food and really nice staff. All catering to our needs. One of us is Coeliac and they sorted out the gluten free options very easily. Would 100% recommend and we will be back. Ate here twice in 24hrs!

Ruba restaurant is a wonderful restaurant and a true local gem. The food is consistently good and the staff are always very accommodating and polite.

I have tried this restaurant as a local person who was looking for a high value of food and found out this restaurant based on google review. I was excited after reading so many amazing reviews, but frankly was quite disappointed. The food was really just average, not even more or slightly higher than the average. It seems lots of good reviews are fake and not real. This restaurant may be able to get customers by generating some good reviews (and some photos from food) but DO remember those customers never back for the second time.

Went here after workshop with colleagues. Absolutely fantastic dishes and service!!! Will go there again with my family! Highly recommended place. Well balanced(not salty) and organised texture

Came here with the other half to try some nice Lebanese food locally. We had the Farouj meshwi, which was fairly good and came with four potatoes and some leaves. At £18 it wasn’t particularly good value and no bread or sauces were provided (other than a garlic dip with the main). Given the mezes we’re quite pricy such as bread this was a shame as we didn’t want to pay over the odds for some bread which would normally come as complimentary in restaurants like this. We also asked for tap water and the lady came along with a jug, poured our water and walked off with the jug which we were expecting to have all of which was a bit odd. It was nice to see Menebrea on draught and I enjoyed a pint of that too. All in all it didn’t feel too authentic and was aimed at locals from Tedders rather than providing a proper Lebanese experience and was a bit overpriced. The staff weren’t unfriendly as such, but weren’t overly welcoming and a bit standoffish. All in all it was adequate, but not worth the money so probably won’t return. I’d suggest heading to Edgware Road for a proper Lebanese experience.

Plenty of choices. Their dishes full of flavours, yet we don’t feel too greasy or salty at all. All reasonably priced. Can highly recommend the hommos, calamari, and lamb shank. Efficient and friendly service. The biggest surprise was that there’s no “mandatory” 12.5% service charge on the bill. Nor were we asked “is the food all right?”. When the food is great, there is no need to ask. Look forward to visit again.

Another wonderful evening at Ruba. Been there several times and never disappoints. Food and drink are first class and service from the very friendly management and staff is exactly how it should be in every restaurant. Faultless . See you again soon .

Excellent service, but then there weren't many people there for an early lunch on a weekday. We had from lunch the set menu. The starters were great and the main course was acceptable. The decor is pleasant and the place is clean. It's a nice restaurant but not exceptional.

On a busy Saturday evening Ruba was packed to capacity with couples, friends, family all dining. My friends and I came in off the street, with no booking, hoping for a table. We took a med it perfectly as someone was just paying up and...

A great place that I visited with a friend last week. We didn’t have a booking but they accommodated us despite being packed on a Monday night! The food was great, atmosphere 10/10 and I can’t wait to come back again. A true neighbourhood gem- can’t believe I haven’t visited before!

Took the family to Ruba, nice place, service was great. I had ocra and rice. Ok. Kids tried different types of meat dishes. Lamb shank was very tasty, and properly cooked, chicken was tender and juicy, fish was great. Houmous was ok, i like mine not so smooth. Cocktails and wine perfect. Next time it will be koftas and kebabs, no veg. Thank you Ruba.
