This restaurant is really great - lovely atmosphere with great food and service - the staff really made the experience great as they were a fabulous mix of engaging and efficient! Would highly recommend it and we’ll definitely be back!

Lovely takeaway. One of my guests is gluten intolerant and the lady I spoke to was very helpful in ensuring all our dishes were suitable.

Tangawizi is a super place for small and large gatherings, in my case a group of 12 friends. Location perfect when we live in all parts of London. We were very well looked after and the food was delicious especially the chilli fish and the coconut lamb. Highly recommended

A boisterous group of 12 descended at Tangawizi yesterday evening. We thoroughly enjoyed the starters and the mains. My personal favourite was the lamb biryani and the coconut lamb curry. The service was attentive and the ambience nice. Our noise level did disturb one guest at another table for which we apologise. However the management was quite understanding that it’s hard to keep noise down in a large group. Overall a happy experience

Simply one of the best Indians in London. The flavor of each dish is unique and so fresh. The naans are perfect, so buttery and such a generous portion size. The owner is amazing as a host and always makes you feel welcome. They put so much effort into the detail and give you a birthday gift if you are celebrating. Couldn’t recommend this authentic restaurant enough.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but go through the doors to a lovely experience, amazing food and atmosphere.

We ordered food to takeaway and collect. Food was excellent, all dishes had so much flavour and they even added in extra sauces and pappadums!! Restaurant itself was lovely, we will be going back to eat in. Staff were very attentive, making sure we were being looked after while waiting for collection. A great meal, thank you!!

We weren’t too hungry, so got full on starters but they were delicious, especially the coco prawns and the gilafi kebab. I would love to come back and try the Mains. The cocktail was also really good.

Love this place, have been visiting for years. Serve great food and had the lamb pepper fry last night which was beautifully seasoned along with the best garlic naan I’ve ever eaten. Nice mango lassi shots and lovely warm staff make the visit here so welcoming. Give it a try if in the area

Love this place, come here almost weekly and always order the Rogan Josh and saag aloo but ordered the lamb pepper fry this visit which is the best dish I’ve had. Garlic naan is a delight and wonderful staff make this restaurant the best. See you next week

it was amazing expercience with tangawizi .one of the best food we have in london.visited the restaurant with a large group and werereally looked afterby the staff. Everyone enjoyed the food and a nice touch with the mango lassi shots . deseert also so amazing. over all its a good expercience . definitily we will back again .

Been to tangawizi regularly fir about 4 years now. They always deliver and tried the Peppery Lamb for the first time which was recommended by the owner which was fantastic served with garlic naan with it. See you soon

We decided to order the pani puri off the street food menu and based off of that the street food menu seems to be amazing. We had never tried it before but based on our previous knowledge it hit all the elements of a good panipuri. Having a lot of flavour and the perfect amount of spice. Unfortunately the masala liptey chicken was the complete opposite. This dish lacked flavour, spice, and had way too much cream. Thankfully it didn’t have sugar in it but the proportions of each ingredient made it a bit sickening to eat. We also ordered the mutter paneer. I have always been a huge a fan of mutter paneer so was incredibly excited to try it from our local Indian. However similar to the masala liptey, the sauce lacked flavour. The paneer itself was good quality however the curries sauce was almost flavourless apart from the overwhelming taste of tomato purée. Overall we are saddened to say our experience was disappointing. When picking up the food the staff were incredibly kind and talkative. They held a friendly conversation whilst we were waiting for our food and offered us complementary chocolates and popadoms. The staff were amazing but the food was not. We wanted to write this review not to put people off the restaurant but to give feedback to the owners and staff.

My wife and I went to Tangawizi for our 15th anniversary last night and it was AMAZING!!! I was sooooo impressed with the food. We had the Kadhai Prawn curry which was top drawer - we eat in lots of indians across London and this is definitely one of the best (if not the BEST) we've ever had. The Lamb Pepper Fry was also really good. Service was amazing - lovely people. If you're a curry lover you must get down to Tangawizi ASAP!!

Fantastic. This is a restaurant which quickly became a family favourite several years ago, and has been a go-to option since. Tangawitzi is an Indian restaurant that consistently delivers, making delicious Indian food every visit, and is always super welcoming and friendly, particularly with celebratory meals such as birthdays. Four of us ate eat here after walking from Central London. We had built up quite an appetite! The food is absolutely first-class. The menu is superb, food delicious and service excellent. Five stars for this fantastic restaurant!

The food is AMAZING! Hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had! From appetizers to desserts, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations! The lamb is always my favourite but the menu is very expansive and has a dish for everyone! The chefs are constantly adapting the menu with new and exciting dishes. Every time I am in London I always come to Tangawizi! The service here is top-notch! The staff is friendly, attentive, and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The owners are always there to greet you with a smile. Service is just as amazing as the food! I love the vibe of this place! It strikes the perfect balance between elegant and relaxed whilst also feeling very authentic! I only recommend coming to Tangawizi if you’re okay with all other Indian restaurants paling in comparison! Truly is my favourite resturant to eat at (and even get takeaways from👀)!

The food was absolutely amazing, staff were very attentive and friendly and it was the best Indian Restaurant we have been to.

Great welcome on arrival. A big Thank youuuuuu to KARIM for looking after us very well right from beginning to and treating us to the excellent Bhindi Kurkure while we waited for our mains to come. The meat mix grill was excellent and sizzling with a nice green salad with fried green chillies. Disappointed there were no celebrities there 😕, but will be back for sure.

Visited Tangawizi for dinner, on arrival we were greeted at the door by a member of staff. The restaurant wasn’t busy so we had a choice of tables. After getting seated, a waiter came to welcome us and hand us the menus dressed in traditional outfits which was a good sight to see. The customer service was really good, the staff were friendly and service was very quick. The owner even came over and checked on us. On to the food, we ordered a few different starters and went for the veg biriyani for main, by the time we finished the starters, we were stuffed. We ordered the chicken shashlik, chilli paneer (my favourite) amongst others, these two is highly recommended. The chicken was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and perfect spice level. If you’re ever in Richmond and looking for a place to have Indian cuisine, I would highly recommend this place.

Disappointing The Punjabi samosa was very dry and out of a freezer The naan was too thin so very flaky The mains were okay nothing special The rice was stale and under cooked Over priced for what we had. When they brought the sizzling platter for the next table, it was extremely smelly and not a very nice smell

It was one of the best meals I've had for a long time. I had the seafood special curry, and it was superb. My friends had birianies and were very happy. We've now been back a few times, and the food is consistently excellent and the service lovely.

I might be a picky eater but I think the food can do better although they are still nice. Peshawari nann is very good( 5/5). For butter chicken and curry vegetables , the sauce override a bit, especially the vegetables one. Service are good, smiley and friendly staff . Still one of the choice for locals whenever want to have an Indian dinner night.

Absolutely outstanding dinner experience from the first minute entering the restaurant and till the end. Immaculate and very attentive but not intrusive service. Quiet (although the restaurant was full), and relaxing atmosphere. And food! Oh, it was like I never ate Indian food. Tasty, tasty, tasty. Warming and comforting. I came as I was very tired and sad. Didn’t have any energy to cook (I live very close to this restaurant), and thought just provide some self-care to myself. I didn’t expect that I will leave nurtured and uplifted in my mood. And the menu is very affordable with very good portions. Amazing experience. Thank you.

Excellent curry but service was a bit slow around 7 o'clock

Having read reviews ordered a delivery. Onion bajhis nice, but weird brown sauce that tasted a bit like Worcester sauce mixed with ketchup and mango. Naan and pilau rice very good. The chicken tikka masala tasted like supermarket tomatoe soup with some spice added. The chicken was hard small cuts tasted overcooked and reheated. So nope will not be using again sadly as other reviews suggest restaurant is good. Maybe take aways not so good - felt like corners being cut.

We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed the food that was excellent whatever people’s choices. Butter chicken, variations of Saag, Lamb, Dal, …

Great place … service is superb and never had a bad meal

We enjoyed the meal and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Only 1 thing I personally wasn't too happy about...as it was Mother's day and we were 2 Mums we were offered a glass of prosecco each and I asked if we could get a bottle instead and was told we would get a discount of 50% off the bottle ... when the bill came there was indeed 50% off the bottle of prosecco but the original price was £40 which I thought was excessive....

Delighted to have chosen this restaurant to dine in this evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the service and presentation made it even more special. We chose the vegetarian options which were plentiful. I really appreciated the advice from our waiter when we were ordering too much of the same style dish and he encouraged us to choose alternatives. Although not from the area, next time we visit, we will make sure to return. Wishing the lovely staff a happy 20th birthday, and I can see why you’ve continued to be such a success.

Incredible food, service and atmosphere. One of the best Indians in our area! The food is well flavored and the portion sizes are generous! The owner is so lovely, he comes to check on your during your meal and the waiting staff are just lovely. Me and my family have been a fair few times and I couldn’t fault it. Recently visited for a birthday meal and they gave me a surprise to take home, which just added to a great experience.

Great athentic food plush with numerous flavours to test the taste buds. Whether with a spicy edge or deeper tastes of spices, there are plenty of dishes to suit all. Service is always personal and professional, such a good team. It's good to talk with the owners Al and Sal for their recommendations too.. enjoy.

Terrific food and service, very enjoyable experience

Lovely personable service with an explanation of the African influences on the food. We had a mix of dishes . The vegetarian starter platter which included Onion patties was great for 3 persons sharing. Thr Lamb cocnut curry as a new addition was also excellent.

Decided to visit this restaurant after reading so many positive reviews. The lady servicing at the front desk was exceptional - very polite and very kind. She even offered us drinks as our takeaway order came from the kitchen late (only 10 minutes). Unfortunately when we took the food home it lacked flavour. We ordered a korma and a new medium hot curry dish. The korma was watery (in both taste and texture) and the medium hot curry was bland, not medium hot- definitely more mild. The naan and popadoms were good but not exceptional. Shame the kitchen don’t care about customers as much as front of house do.

Our first visit to Tangawizi in 2024 did not disappoint. When we arrived the restaurant, nearly full, had a lively atmosphere you only get when people were enjoying themselves. Despite the full house the service, as always, was efficient, friendly and helpful. The food? Really tasty. i had one of the special main courses- safron lamb- which I have not had before. Subtly spiced but not too hot with beautifully tender meat. I'll have it next time we go if it is still on the menu. Rices, vegetables and so forth equally good. We go to quite a lot of good restaurants: this is amongst the best.

I love Tangawizi.. As usual food was up to high standard. It was noisier than usual due to quite a number of large groups.. But that's to be expected on the run up to christmas i'm sure. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

The team at Tangawizi always deliver a wonder service and perfect food. The Specials are marvellous, so tasty and authentic, and they compliment the standard menu perfectly. Some of the team have been on board for 18 years, so it's great to know the loyalty across the team is sure and true.

It’s been a while since we frequented Tangawizi and it was every bit as good as we remembered.

My first time to ear here although much recommended by friends. A very warm welcome even though we were 25 minutes early. Exceptional service and outstanding food. The ambience with lowered lights and table candles with soft Indian music in the background was just right. Overall, a memorable eating out experience which I hope to enjoy again soon.
