Great place … service is superb and never had a bad meal

We enjoyed the meal and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Only 1 thing I personally wasn't too happy about...as it was Mother's day and we were 2 Mums we were offered a glass of prosecco each and I asked if we could get a bottle instead and was told we would get a discount of 50% off the bottle ... when the bill came there was indeed 50% off the bottle of prosecco but the original price was £40 which I thought was excessive....

Nice food, but the set menu was limited on vegetarian options

Had a lovely meal tonight. The food was delicious and well presented. Have to say the service was also great and we felt very welcome from the moment we stepped in the door until the moment we left. Will definitely visit again.

Delighted to have chosen this restaurant to dine in this evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the service and presentation made it even more special. We chose the vegetarian options which were plentiful. I really appreciated the advice from our waiter when we were ordering too much of the same style dish and he encouraged us to choose alternatives. Although not from the area, next time we visit, we will make sure to return. Wishing the lovely staff a happy 20th birthday, and I can see why you’ve continued to be such a success.

I have been coming to Tangawizi since it opened a number of years ago. This time for Valentine’s Day with my wife. Lovely meal as usual. Made special by the warm welcome from the friendly team. Can’t recommend too highly.

Incredible food, service and atmosphere. One of the best Indians in our area! The food is well flavored and the portion sizes are generous! The owner is so lovely, he comes to check on your during your meal and the waiting staff are just lovely. Me and my family have been a fair few times and I couldn’t fault it. Recently visited for a birthday meal and they gave me a surprise to take home, which just added to a great experience.

Very enjoyable evening. Wine a touch expensive, but apart from that food was excellent, very friendly staff and would definitely recommend.

Great athentic food plush with numerous flavours to test the taste buds. Whether with a spicy edge or deeper tastes of spices, there are plenty of dishes to suit all. Service is always personal and professional, such a good team. It's good to talk with the owners Al and Sal for their recommendations too.. enjoy.

Had a lovely meal at Tangawizi with my friend, who is vegetarian. There are lots of choices on the menu for both vegetarian and non vegetarian and the food is really delicious and well prepared. The staff is very welcoming and look after you throughout the evening so I can only highly recommend this place.

Great food and amazing service and quick to your table even on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant owner was very friendly and welcoming, spent some time chatting us and other table to give nice personal touch. We’ll definitely visit again and recommend.

Terrific food and service, very enjoyable experience

Lovely personable service with an explanation of the African influences on the food. We had a mix of dishes . The vegetarian starter platter which included Onion patties was great for 3 persons sharing. Thr Lamb cocnut curry as a new addition was also excellent.

Our first visit to Tangawizi in 2024 did not disappoint. When we arrived the restaurant, nearly full, had a lively atmosphere you only get when people were enjoying themselves. Despite the full house the service, as always, was efficient, friendly and helpful. The food? Really tasty. i had one of the special main courses- safron lamb- which I have not had before. Subtly spiced but not too hot with beautifully tender meat. I'll have it next time we go if it is still on the menu. Rices, vegetables and so forth equally good. We go to quite a lot of good restaurants: this is amongst the best.

Great restaurant We liked that our waiter took time to explain the African influence on the dishes. Good range of starters and a nice choice of mains and specials which included vegetarian options.

Decided to visit this restaurant after reading so many positive reviews. The lady servicing at the front desk was exceptional - very polite and very kind. She even offered us drinks as our takeaway order came from the kitchen late (only 10 minutes). Unfortunately when we took the food home it lacked flavour. We ordered a korma and a new medium hot curry dish. The korma was watery (in both taste and texture) and the medium hot curry was bland, not medium hot- definitely more mild. The naan and popadoms were good but not exceptional. Shame the kitchen don’t care about customers as much as front of house do.

I love Tangawizi.. As usual food was up to high standard. It was noisier than usual due to quite a number of large groups.. But that's to be expected on the run up to christmas i'm sure. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

The team at Tangawizi always deliver a wonder service and perfect food. The Specials are marvellous, so tasty and authentic, and they compliment the standard menu perfectly. Some of the team have been on board for 18 years, so it's great to know the loyalty across the team is sure and true.

It’s been a while since we frequented Tangawizi and it was every bit as good as we remembered.

My first time to ear here although much recommended by friends. A very warm welcome even though we were 25 minutes early. Exceptional service and outstanding food. The ambience with lowered lights and table candles with soft Indian music in the background was just right. Overall, a memorable eating out experience which I hope to enjoy again soon.

Attended the food after enjoying the rugby. Had chili lamb and it was divine, perfectly spicy and the lamb was juicy and tender. Customer service was exceptional, would highly recommend.

Went here for my birthday for a curry, and they were absolutley amazing! We've had our share of curries and the food here was absolutley top notch. On top of that the service was wonderful, friendly and prompt. Mustafa served us and he was very friendly and professional. Will definitely be back when I am in the area again.

Polite and helpful staff, good service, delicious, fresh food. Has the feel of a regular high street Indian restaurant rather than fine dining but none the worse for that, was comfortable and clean with nice low lighting and suitable music.

One of my faves. Always want to go back. Staff are lovely and never forget a face. 20 years strong and still take the time with their guests. Always a joy.

It was one of the best meals I've had for a long time. I had the seafood special curry it was superb. My friends had bikinis and were very happy.

Having been a regular at this fine restaurant I noted with more than a little surprise that someone considered the staff to be rude. This is far from the case, they are welcoming and the food is beautifully cooked and presented. My advice to people who make unfounded, negative comments is to at least book a table and, maybe even cosider ordering some food.

We enjoyed the meal but we're a little surprised to see the service charge set at 13.5%. Surely either 10% or 12.5%is normal.

Great food and service. The street food is great, I would eat that whole section just for dinner! Lamb was great and tender and service was attentive and quick. The Naans are also delicious and a great portion size!

First things first, it has to be said that the food at Tangawizi is good and the service is nice with attentive staff. However, the menu is quite overpriced, £4.75 for Pilau Rice, £4.25 for the Poppadum dip tray (mango chutney, etc) and then a 13.5% service charge on top means you end up paying over £5 for a portion of rice. Just be aware if you go that a meal for two will top £60 with poppadoms as a starter and both only having a curry, rice, single drink and sharing a Naan. Overall, a nice experience but for the price it feels slightly underwhelming.

Absolutely outstanding dinner experience from the first minute entering the restaurant and till the end. Immaculate and very attentive but not intrusive service. Quiet (although the restaurant was full), and relaxing atmosphere. And food! Oh, it was like I never ate Indian food. Tasty, tasty, tasty. Warming and comforting. I came as I was very tired and sad. Didn’t have any energy to cook (I live very close to this restaurant), and thought just provide some self-care to myself. I didn’t expect that I will leave nurtured and uplifted in my mood. And the menu is very affordable with very good portions. Amazing experience. Thank you.

I've been coming here for almost 15 years and if anything, each time I visit, it's even better than I remember. Always such a treat to meet Al, Moustafa and team, and the food is unbelievably good. Let the staff order for you and you won't be disappointed. This is a must visit if you're in the area. Oh and do try the King Cobra! Amazing

We randomly ended up here waiting for the bus and it turned out to be a good experience. The food was good and well presented. The taste of garlic Naan which we were missing from quite sometime was finally found here. The ambience was good and the staff was very friendly. Little bit expensive but you get what you expected. Recommended for vegetarian options.

The staff were very flexible and kept our table open for us even though we ended up running 1 hour late following the Rugby at Twickenham stadium Even though it was late and the staff were ready to go home the food was superb as always and the five of us had a great Indian meal Every time we visit Twickenham stadium to watch Rugby we always incorporate a visit to Tangawizi and will continue to do so given the service and food have always been 1st class My sincere thanks to the Tangawizi team
