Great place to go for that quick bite... especially when next door. Great service and food... keep it up

Despite the prices increasing and the fillings decreasing it was always a good place to grab a sandwich until now. I bought a chicken tikka and took it home for lunch. Took the first bite and felt a sharp pain at the roof of my mouth, thought it was a broken tooth but no, I spat out a blood covered chicken bone. Needless to say the sandwich was binned. I emailed the company and one week later they haven’t had the decency to acknowledge my email so it’s now here for the world to see. Coin for scale.

It’s good service friendly staff lovely and clean

As per usual we had a fab time here on Saturday. After some shopping we called in for quick beer and although the place was packed we were served quickly and as always with friendly service!! Big thanks to the girls behind the bar!!

The Royal Oak turned out to be a really great find when I visited last Sunday while desperately searching for a please to watch the 6 Nations Scotland France match. Surprised to find a wide range of well kept beers, including good Cask IPAs. Apart from my guilty secret, Park Crackling, I did not try the food. But observing the customers around me noted very high quality and generously portioned Sunday lunches being consumed with enthusiasm. The pub itself is large, clean, well furnished so spoilt for choice for a place to sit. The pub does show sporting events on numerous well positioned screens around the place, but if you just wanted a quiet pint or meet in a discreet couple or group, the noise levels were low and would not detract from the experience. The staff were friendly, helpful and willing to go above and beyond.... changing the channel to allow me to watch the Rugby, despite me being the only interested party in the pub. Talking to and listening to the staff interacting with customers and with each other, it is very apparent that there is a strong well-led team working at the Royal Oak. All that is left to say is thank you to Kirsty, Amelia, Alex and Top-Chef Steph! A great experience, despite the final score, C'est La Vie! See you all again soon.

Friendly staff & excellent beer. Tried the brand new ale from Black Sheep brewery: Respire!!! You’ve got to try it to believe it and you’ll save the planet too. Cosy pub with competitive prices on food & drink

I popped in for a few drinks and the lovely Jo and Kirsty told me about the amazing new cask beer they had on called respire and their recommendation was spot on! Definitely a beer I will continue to drink!

Just been to the Royal Oak with a young family served by Kirsty, we ordered food and drinks with no delay. The chef Jane did a top job and we couldn't fault the food. Many reviews i read winge about trivial things, the toilets are clean the beer is cold, the big question is would I go back???? Definitely Thanks top job team 👍

Came here for a bite to eat before going to the theatre across the road with my two adult children, as it looked friendly and inviting. We were not disappointed! The place has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were really friendly. We ordered from a really good and varied menu, and the prices are excellent value for money. Our food was brought to us quickly, and it was presented really well. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and pretty much finished the lot! As well as all of this, the place is impeccably clean, which is a huge thing for me! Thank you Kirsty, Carly, Donna and Chef Jane for making our visit to your pub a pleasant and memorable one!

Yes, the jacket potatoes are good..but £10.30 for 2 jacket potatoes is to much I'm afraid..won't be going back again.. incedentely it costs £5.00 for a 25kilo bag of potatoes at the moment at the farm gate.

Our favourite day Poe and pint for 7.99.our favourite is beef and double Gloucester. Good gravy and choice of delicious mash or fries or curly fries. The staff are helpful and you can always find a seat away from the screens unlike weatherspoons.

Website needs updating if they aren't opening until 9:30 on a Saturday instead of just giving customers dirty looks from inside

We dined from the 2 for £7.99 menu, the food was good & hot, good portion sizes too. Good music in the background. The ladies behind the bar we’re very friendly & happy to help.

W@as quite when we were in, Sun evening, but nice for a few drinks, food menu looks top notch. Used to drink there many years ago and it has been updated while we have lived away.

Went for breakfast & was pleasantly surprised & now is my number one choice for breakfast, much better than wither spoons

Popped in for lunch with a friend. The bar staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and the food ordered within a reasonable time. Unfortunately the quality of the food was on,y mediocre and I was disappointed with my chicken dish which was very dry.

Went here after taking my daughters to splash didnt expect much tbh but the food was really good, the lager was a bit warm but I'm sure that was down to the weather being unusually hot... only downside was a regular (I presumed as he was chatting to bar staff) insisted on coming over numerous times to our table and talking to my young daughter about eating her food whilst oddly tapping her on her shoulder... I was alone with my 2 daughters and felt quite uncomfortable... would have stayed a while longer but my daughter was scared and wanted to come home :( will definitely visit again next time we are in the area though (probably not by myself though) as food and staff were lovely

Food is exceptional however the staff are very rude

2nd time I've come here, a Very busy local, the last time a Quiz night was on which did my head in while eating lol but the place is always busy, which tells you something. The food is law priced, tasty, fresh and usually cooked to perfection, although busy I had no problem finding a table. This place is clean and bright with a noisy middle aged crowd, sport on several screens and gaming machines. I didn't have to wait too long for my meal, even given that is was 6pm on a Saturday night. Turns out the very polite, knowledge young barman that served me is named Jack, he is a credit to the industry, I hope his employer realises this. As I travel 360 days of the year and order in or eat out twice a day on all of these days, It is the little things I notice that makes the difference, such as swift but attentive service, decent lighting even in corner tables etc. In short, I can NOT fault this place and Will be back each time I'm in the area.

Lovely surprise eto have such a friendly place, helpful. Yep the food was some cooked and large Yorkshire my husband ha dthe veg curry. It were great... Reasonably priced.

My partner and I have just got a Sunday dinner to take out the meat was tough roast potatoes full of grease the mash was awfull and the carrots and peas were frozen and as for the Yorkshire pudding it was flat and had no taste this is the worst Sunday dinner I have had for a long time wasted over £12 as I had to chuck it out won't be going back for a long time

Friendly staff, clean and well priced

We’ve had lunch here for a few Saturdays now and are enjoying the food and the friendly atmosphere. It’s a bit loud and packed on match days but the staff still do their best to deliver decent meals in a reasonable amount of time. Don’t be put off by the little gathering of smokers outside. It’s not just a High Street boozer, the interior is quite tasteful and the food choices very good with reasonable prices.

was shopping in the town for the first time in a long time and happened to pop into this lovely little pub. food was served quick and was simply delicious. friendly and helpful staff. will be coming back with my children as the menu was varied and the atmosphere was really nice and relaxed.

Vinieron aquí sólo para unos tragos con la novia. Al principio estábamos un poco cansados por el viejo hombre que nos dieron. ambiente Pero nos sentamos en un stand, jugamos al billar, dieron a conocer a los camareros. Todo por un precio razonable en Stockton. Ron era especialmente barato.

One of only a few pubs I would use normally great atmosphere and laugh great prompt service I'd recommend for drinks or as a start as a evening out

Popped in here after looking at reviews. We had a lovely lunch and fab deserts. All 4 of us enjoyed it. Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

Visited the Royal Oak on Monday and ordered our food i was hungry so I ordered and extra burger with onion rings for £2 extra which I didn't mind. It was busy so we didn't mind the wait our food arrived as soon as it came I checked to see if the extra burger was in it wasn't and on inspecting the burger it was rock solid I went to the bar and the barman said sorry and he'd get the chef to do another one. When the second one arrived still no extra burger so I then call over one of the other bar staff she said she'd them to do the extra burger I said that's fine by the time it arrived I'd eaten all of my meal and it was just a burger no garnish of anything and I'm a chef and I know it had been microwaved it was way to hot to of been on a griddle. I don't know if they've change their chef but the quality of the food wasn't up to their usually standard my wife and I used to go there quite a bit but haven't been for a while and on this performance I won't rush back I've awarded 2 stars only because of past meals otherwise I'd of gave them a 1 star rating the burgers aren't like they used to be wilting garnish small burgers and bread buns that have seen better days sorry for the review but I expected better as the food used to be great

Llamamos a otro pub que fue muy decepcionante (no hay buena selección de cervezas), así que probamos el Royal Oak. Era acogedor, con una buena selección de tonel. Era espaciosa y agradable, con una decoración de fotografías e información local de la otrora zona. La cerveza estaba bien (bien cuidado y derramó), los baños estaban limpios, de hecho, todo lo que puedas querer de un agradable pub.

Realmente disfrutamos visitando este pub. El personal del bar era muy amable, buena selección de cervezas y ale. Fue muy buen equipado y parecía muy limpio. La comida era realmente buena y parecía que iba bien con todo el mundo que había pedido comida. Había un buen ambiente en el bar con un montón de TV's para gente que quiera ver deporte. En general un muy buen pub.

Con una excelente selección de comidas y el menú especial del día es muy buena relación calidad-precio

Jueves y domingo para una noche, pero para karaoke fútbol ventiladores muchos TV para tener una buena vista del juego razonable comida y bebida, así que podrás ir de fiesta en un presupuesto
